Prime upgrade to 2.0 failed

Hi Folks, I did a prime upgrade to 2.0 from the patch PI_1_3_0_20-Update.4-16.tar.gz and it failed.... and i cannot do ncs start... But i guess i dont have the backup as well... but its asking to restore... Was the PI 1.3 OVA install a small OVA?
If so, you would need to build an Express or larger PI 2.0 OVA per:
Note If you are upgrading from Prime Infrastructure 1.x small virtual machine, you should create a new virtual machine with the Express OVA, back up your existing small virtual machine, and then restore it on the new virtual machine. You can delete the old small virtual machine after the new virtual machine is fully operational. Inline upgrade of the
small virtual machine is not supported.

In-place Upgrade
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2.0/quickstart/guide/cpi_qsg.html#wp66122
Mostly it seems to be a corrupt DB. You can download and install a fresh PI 2.0 and later, if you have old backup, try to restore data from it.

  • Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16

    Hello,
I've encountered issue during installation of SP1 to SQL Server 2012. After upgrade I'm getting this error in Event Log:
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken offline.
If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that the script
    upgrade steps run to completion.
Can someone point me direction how I can fix it? This is a production server and currently only way to make it working is to use T902 flag in SQL Server startup params. I've found some suggestions to check Data path if it exists but it does so this is not
    the issue here. Any ideas?
    I've found also here

suggestions for similar issue with SQL Server 2008 which that I should do:
    Via ssms:
    From msdb:

    dc_admin role
    Dc_operator role
    Dc_proxy role
    UlitityCMRReader role
    UtilityIMRReader role
    UtilityIMRWriter role
but for not I didn't tried it yet. This is standalone SQL Server instance.
    Any help really appreciated.

    Script returns the same error.

Before sending my message I've searched update script for "FROM master.sys.master_files" and I found script which you are showing me. I've made some digging and when I runned:
           SELECT physical_name
           FROM master.sys.master_files
           WHERE (name = N'master')
it returned also path to one my customers database name which has filename set correctly but it's Logical DB name is master and mastlog. I'm running shared hosting company and I allow my customers to restore their DBs from .bak files but I have no idea why
this customers logical name is set to master and mastlog. Probably when I change this names update script will work as it should. On the other hand in my opinion there should be some kind of fail safe mechanism for situations like this one.
EDIT: After changing logical name for DB and log for mentioned DB your script runned fine so probably now when I remove T902 flag and restart my SQL Server update will run correctly. Big thanks for resolving this issue.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.

#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.

  • Upgrade to Windows 10 failed with error 80070714. Please Help!!!

Hi. I hope someone out there can help me!! I have tried numerous times to upgrade my HP Envy 15-K204NA from Windows 8.1 64-bit to Windows 10 Home, but it continues to fail with error code 80070714. I am using Bullguard Premium Protection and have Acronis True Image installed. I have disabled SQL services as suggested by other posts on the internet, but nothing seems to work. When I run the upgrade from a DVD burned from the ISO, it gets to 37% and then fails. Hope you can help. • Tried to upgrade bios but it failed now black screen. What to do now

So as the title says, Itried to upgrade the bios which failed during the process. I have ordered the bios chip from supplyers with newest firmware and still no good. any solutions? This chip they sent is SOIC-8 type of chip. What can I do now as a crisis disk method does not seam to be able to run here.
--a small bit more info-- Not booting at all, even to bios.so can rool back or restore. power on led lights up but thats all..Laptop is c660d-1gd,
    Thanks.

What kind of 10.5 disk did you use? If it was a grey system disk from a newer Intel-based Mac, that disk has no 10.5 code that a G4 processor can read and could leave you with what you describe.
I tried booting ........... from the usb 2.0 disk that's attached via a PCI card.
In spite of what Apple says (here), it's hard to find a G-series Mac that likes to boot from a USB device. Do you have one with FireWire connectivity? And some system software may have to load before the USB bus wakes up. You can try it on oneof the logic board 1.1 ports--has a better chance of getting a boot from there than a PCI card. But don't be surprised if it still doesn't boot.
The 10.5 installer requires a minimum 867 mHz processor and may look at something stored in ROM on the computer rather than actually polling the new processor before deciding if it can install. Although you have an upgraded processor, the installer may be reading the original specs off the Machine type code or other parameter that was not affected by the upgrade.

    Hi
SAP got back with this info:
This error is caused due to the report RS_GENERATE_PUTTB_SHD being deleted druing the upgrade.
This is a recently discovered problem with the SAPehpi patch 81.
and the issue is fixed with the lateset version of SAPehpi.
It will import the report RS_GENERATE_PUTTB_SHD during TOOLIMPORT.
To use this version, you have to reset the current EHPI run and start from scratch with the new version
New version (83) downloaded, reset prepare and the phase was now completed
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • In place upgrade to 2012 R2 fails, Setup can't continue. Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of windows will be restored.

I have multiple Windows Server 2008 R2 machines in which I am attempting to do an in place upgrade to 2012 R2, and it is repeatedly failing.
Setup gets all the way through, and it says Getting ready, followed immediately by an error saying: Setup can't continue.  Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of Windows will be restored.
    I am attempting to install:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter (Server with GUI)
    x64 Date modified 3/18/2014
I have found several posts, many discussing how disk space can be an issue, I have increased disk space so it shouldn't be an issue.  I have also made sure the only only partition on disk 0 is C: and system reserved.
I have disabled all unessential services and went through and removed all unessential applications, and extras.  Still getting the error.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this, or further troubleshoot?

I also had this error: "Setup cannot continue. Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of Windows will be restored."
    trying to do a in-place upgrade of a Domain Controller Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2.
The problem was the separated System Reserved Partition. After I removed using this instructions:
    http://jacobackerman.blogspot.com/2012/12/how-to-remove-system-reserved-partition.html
The upgrade ran ok, and now have my DC as Windows 2012 R2.
    Hope that helps!.

  • CUCM 8.6.1 Refresh upgrade to 10.5 fails with Internal Error (Function: ipmReadNormalizedInputLine) [SOLVED]

    Hi,
we are upgrading our CUCM 8.6.1 to 10.5.1 on VMWare Enviroment (vSphere 5.5 running on UCS).
We are running this upgrade in a sandbox, in order to avoid any problem in the production cluster.
We followed the refresh upgrade guide ( http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/10_0_1/CUCM_BK_U4214F9D_00_upgrade-guide-cucm-100.pdf)
    Pre-configuration steps
Take a clone of the running publisher and put it in the sandbox
Remove DNS servers (they are not available in the sandbox)
Change the NTP Server with a ntp that is recheable from the sandbox
Check that Gateway and NTP connectivity are OK for the CUCM
    Pre-upgrade:
Run the cop files to update keys and increase disk space (log partition is 80% full)
    Shutdown the CUCM VM and
Increase disk space on the VM configuration
change VM OS from RedHat5 (32bit) to RedHat 6  (64bits)
change VM nic from flexible to VMNIX3
    Restart the VM
    Upgrade
    1. mount the iso
    2. connect to OS Administration web interface and perform the Software installation from CD/DVD
    3. upgrade process works fine up to the post-installation task
During post-installation tasks (after completing the DB Load and Transforming Copy) the Upgrade process always fails fails with an internal error
    IPM|Internal Error, File:ipm.c:2011, Function: ipmReadNormalizedInputLine(), "/usr/local/cm/script/cm-dbl-install RU PostInstall 10.5.1.10000-7 8.6.1.21019-1 /usr/local/cm/ /common/component/database /common/log/install/capture.txt " failed (1)|<LVL::Critical>

    - from 9.1 to 10.5: Failed with the same error
    - from 9.1 to 10.1: Failed with the same error
any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Issue was related to Dial Plans, the logs showed

Cisco TAC fixed by updating the primary key in the DB.
After the fix we were able to perform the RU as expected.

  • Upgrade to 10.5 fails - Not enough diskspace in Common Partition - db_hist using most of the space

    Hi All,
Tried upgrading our UCCX 9.0(2) SU1 HA deployment to 10.5(1) last night and it failed with the following message -
There is not enough disk space in the common partition to perform the upgrade. Please use either the Platform Command Line Interface or the Real-Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) to free space on the common partition.
RTMT reported the Common diskspace used as 94%. Using RTMT we set the LogPartitionHighWaterMarkExceeded to 55% and waited for diskspace to free up. No such luck.
A little more investigation and it turns out there is a database called db_hist_dbs in the Common partition that is 33GB in size. This is the command and returned output we used to find this out -
    show diskusage common
    8.0K    /common/moh
    33G     /common/var-uccx/dbc/db_hist_dbs
    1.6G    /common/var-uccx/dbc/temp_uccx_dbs
    201M    /common/var-uccx/dbc/uccx_er_dbs
    1.6G    /common/var-uccx/dbc/uccx_ersb_dbs
    37G     /common/var-uccx/dbc
    37G     /common/var-uccx
    16M     /common/ontape_backup.gz
    8.0K    /common/cancel_upgrade
Using this command - show uccx dbserver disk - we can see that the db_hist database file is actually 80% free! Output from the command here -
SNO. DATABASE NAME      TOTAL SIZE (MB) USED SIZE (MB) FREE SIZE (MB) PERCENT FREE
     4    db_hist                            34508.6                 6836.9                  27671.7             80%
Anyone have any ideas on how to shrink the file size of the database in question? Is it even possible? Or what are our options to get around this and perform the upgrade.
    Thanks in advance
    Jeff

You may be running into this bug: CSCul18667
    Symptom:
CUIC log purge does not clean up JMX folder. Upgrade may fail due to lack of space.
"show status" command show's that logging is consuming 99% of space
    Workaround:
Can delete by going to RTMT -> Trace & Log Central -> Remote Browse -> Nodes -> "specific node" -> UCCX -> Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Servicability Service -> jmx -> select all -> Delete

    Hi Sydneydog,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The articles below will help you troubleshoot the issue you are having with upgrading your iPhone.  The first step would be to upgrade your iTunes software to the latest version on your PC.  Then try connecting your iPhone again to see if it is recognized.  Placing your iPhone in Recovery mode should get you to the point of restoring your phone.  Data will be deleted, so a backup of your iPhone will be needed at this point.
