Print CD on Epson R320 CD Tray not working

Hello,
Has anyone been able to print to CD's on Epson r320
when I try to print to the CD tray, I get an error message saying the CD tray is open and the job is automatically stopped. I found the new printer drivers for Intel machines on Epson's site and installed them. and even up dated the drivers by apple.com site . but it just keeps giving the same error and in the choose media type box , it wouldnt allow my to choose dvd/cd. .
can any one give me any suggestion ??? thank you

I don't have an epson printer so I can't really tell you for sure, however, I do have an HP and I know that I would get an error like this. I had to really dig into the settings of the printer and set it when I wanted to print CD's that it was to look for them. I remember I had to set the settings in the printer itself as well as when I opened the program to design the CD when I would click print, I would have to physically tell the program that it was to print on a CD and not printing just a label on the page. It was a pain and I don't remember what it was exactly because I don't have that printer anymore as I just found it easier and more reliable to just print on the labels with the new printer that I have because it uses less ink and really isn't all that much more to just print the label and then put it on the CD.

Print CD on Epson R320 CD Tray

For several weeks, I printed CD's on the CD Tray of the Epson R320 with my new Mac Pro. Suddenly, Epson Print CD stopped working.
I started to use another Universal CD-printing program. I found the new printer drivers for Intel machines on Epson's site and installed them. Now when I try to print to the CD tray, I get an error message saying the CD tray is open and the job is automatically stopped.
Has anyone been able to print to CD's on Epson printers using the new Epson 3.0 (3.01) Intel drivers? What software did you use to print?

Thanks for your suggestions, but no I had used Epson Print CD for more than a year on the Mac G5. It's not universal software. The real problem was with the Epson printer drivers posted for the R320.
Actually, now it works. I trashed all Epson files, deleted printers, reset printers, disconnected the printers and shut everything down. When I started up again, the CD function worked.

Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work

I've got following problem: Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work. Not in Preview, nor Adobe Reader. I Don't know why. i'm using a hp Color LaserJet 2550L. I just worked fine, but I cannot remember the time this failing first occured. I really hope the problem will be solved quick and easy.

Mine does not work either. I have trashed prefs, rewrote permissions, ran Disk Utility from a separate HD, etc. and I cannot get this feature to work.
I got 45 odd pages to print last night and now it won't print odd or even pages. I am reduced to printing every backside page one at a time. If I would have known about this problem before I could have saved myself an hour and just printed them all on single sided sheets. I tried to save paper and now I'm screwed (timewise)......
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

After I upgraded to Mavericks my Epson 5000V scanner is not working properly. I can scan by going into Preference/PrintersScanners to operate the scanner, but I cannot find the output.

Printing Problem with Epson R320 (Print CD)

Problem: I cannot print using Print CD with a new Epson Stylus Photo R320, however I can print from applications using the gimp beta driver provided in OS software, via <Print Using> dialogue box.
Power Mac G4 dual 450, running 10.4.6.
After phoning Epson, I downloaded the needed driver from Epson and went through the installation process with an Epson tech. However I cannot seem to access this driver in the print utility. The Printer Setup Utility is forcing me to choose a “gimp” driver. Some discussions on this site suggest choosing just Epson usb—the question is how with the way the dialogue boxes are configured in Printer Setup Utility. The problem seems to be I am unable to access the driver through the <Print Using> menu in the utility. If I select more printers, (after highlighting the R320) this causes the print utility to crash.
I have repaired permissions, reset the printer setup, uninstalled, reinstalled; actually I have done everything I could find to do. The problem seems so simple. I easily created my CD label; now I would just like to print it!! Any ideas from all the pros on this list. Thank you.

I have an Epson R320 and have communication problems.You start the job and after about 5 seconds you get a ! in the dock on the printer icon and on opening you see "job stopped".
I am no expert but it seems to me that the program e.g.MYOB accounting fails to pass the data to OSX.
If I de install and reinstall the epson drivers and repair permission it will work ...but then the next day on re-booting we are back to the same state of not working.
I have informed Epson and am waiting for a reply. The epson printer tests and standalone mode works. OSX problem?

Printing pdfs to Epson printers, images do not print properly

I have Adobe Acrobat Professional v8.2.5 and Windows 7 64k and since the recent upgrade of Acrobat when I print to either of my Epson printers (Epson Aculaser 2600 and Epson Stylus Office BX610FW) the text is fine but images are smeared or just print as a block of print with no detail. I don't seem to have this problem with HP printers and I don't recall making any changes to the printer settings. Up until about three weeks ago I did not have this problem.
If I save the pdf file as a tiff or jpg etc then everything prints fine.
Any ideas anyone?

Printer Sharing with eMac, iMac, and iBook not working

Hello, everyone. I hope you guys can help me out with this:
I have an Epson Stylus CX4600 hooked up to my eMac via USB. My eMac prints fine with it. The eMac is getting its internet via an Ethernet wire going downstairs into my Linksys Router, which sends my Shaw internet to my iBook, my iMac, and my eMac.
I want to allow the iMac and iBook to access the printer over the network directly, so I can just print from those computers and have it come out the eMac printer.
I've looked at many articles on this. So far I've installed the drivers on all computers, plus they can all network to each other over File Sharing, so they are connected.
But I haven't been able to print yet. The most I've been able to do is get the files I try to print from the iBook and iMac to show up on the eMac, in its printer queue. Only it didn't show up for a LONG time. And when it did, the jobs automatically stopped and everytime I clicked start, it would automatically switch back to stopped again. The files would not print.
At this point, I want to get the iBook connected to it first. If I can do that, I'll try the iMac. But the iBook is first priority. I've tried making it connect to the Printer using IPP (IP Printing), and the result was... what I explained in the above paragraph. I also tried just ordinary Printer Sharing, but it said something close to this:
"Unable to locate eMac.local, Unknown host."
That hardly makes sense, because at that time I also tried getting the iBook connected to the eMac over File Sharing which worked. For some reason, the "eMac.local" and "iMac.local" files don't show up in my Network thing when I connect to them, or even when they're not connected. HOWEVER, I think they did at one point. I could swear I saw "eMac.local" and "iMac.local" in the Servers folder in the Network section of the iBook at one point. But it's no longer there.
Please help. I've described my problem as well as possible. What a long post. If there's any way to make my eMac, iMac, and iBook be able to print through my Epson Stylus CX4600 at any time directly, then I'll do it.

"set" or programmed anything with it.

eMac from the other computers.
This is the eMac's IP, correct? Did you type it into Network, or was it assigned by the router's DHCP?
192.168.1.101 is what I would use to connect to the
iBook from the other computers.
This is the iBook's IP, right? Again, fixed or DHCP?
192.168.1.102 is what I would use to connect to the
iMac from the other computers.
Same for this IP.
The iBook, as I've said, is wired. No wireless
connections to speak of.
Okay. Now, if the router is handing out IP addresses via DHCP, what range was it configured for? My Linksys, for example, is configured to hand out IPs in the range 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.254. It has the IP 192.168.0.1, so the IPs 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.9 are available for me to hand out as fixed IPs. If I was to hand out 192.168.0.100 as a fixed IP, the router's DHCP server would have a potential problem, as it might hand out that address too, and only one device can have a particular IP address on a particular network. If your router is handing out 192.168.1.100, .101, and .102 via DHCP, you could and probably do have a conflict if you've got those addresses set up as fixed IPs. In particular, if you have anything else on the network, including Bonjour-enabled devices such as printers, you're likely to have a conflict.
Best way to resolve a conflict, if any:
1 set all the Macs to either DHCP, or if fixed IPs are required, to a fixed IP outside the range of the DHCP range on the router. (Or you could just turn off DHCP on the router.)
2 check the router to be sure that DHCP is set the way you want it, and the DHCP pool is what you think it is.
3 shut down the Macs.
4 turn off the router, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on.
5 turn the Macs back on, one at a time.
On my Linksys, the way to set the DHCP pool is simple:
1 log into the router. (My router IP: 192.168.0.1. Yours would be 192.168.1.1.) Hit the 'Setup' tab. Verify the gateway IP. (Should be the router's IP. If it's not, something very strange is happening.) Verify the start of the DHCP pool. Verify that DHCP is on (or off, as you want). Verify the end of the DHCP pool. (My start is 192.168.0.10, and there are 245 IPs in the pool, so the end is 192.168.0.254. If I changed the number of IPs to 200, the end of the pool would be 192.168.0.209, and I'd be able to set the IPs 192.168.0.200 to 254 as fixed IPs if I wanted.) If your router allows for IPs to be reserved, you can set up reserved IPs for one or more of your Macs. (A reserved IP is an IP the router holds for a specific device. The network card in each computer has a specific MAC address; if that address is registered with the router, then every time that computer is turned on and connected it will get the IP that was reserved for it... so long as that IP is in the DHCP range and DHCP is turned on. Think of it as a fixed IP without your having to actually fix the IP.)

Epson 1260 scanner driver not working

Updated to OS 10, I no longer have Classic. The scanner worked with Classic, not with new OS, tried downloading and installing new driver from Epson site, when I double click scanner icon, it bounces in dock then stops, the program doesn't open? Any ideas? Thanks.

When you go to System Preferences > Print & Fax, click on the printer then check what it says for "Kind" if it mentions anything to do with Guten Print then you have the wrong driver installed. Remove the printer from the list, install the driver from the following page:

Restart the Mac, go back to Print & Fax, if the printer hasn't already added click the + button and click on your printers name once, underneath the name it should say Print Using, check this has your printers name in it and then click Add. If this does not work then try a full uninstall process, go to Mac HDD/ Library/Printers and drag the Epson folder to the trash can, repair your disk permissions and then install the driver again from the above link and restart the Mac, go back to Print & Fax, if the printer hasn't already added click the + button and click on your printers name once, underneath the name in Print Using, check this has your printers name in it and click Add. This should resolve any issues you have with missing print settings.

Why does print function in Preview with Lion OS not work?

Since upgrading to Lion, the print functionality on Preview does not work. When you select Print, the rainbow wheel of misfortune appears and I have to force quit Preview after a while. The print window does not even appear to select a printer (I have multiple print drivers and drivers installed).
All other aplications print nornally as before the upgade.

After upgrading the EPSON drivers to version 2.8 under Lion, I now have an issue when printing PDF's with preview. Some text will not be printed, which is very odd. I have an Epson ALC2800 connected via ethernet, and I can successfully print the same documents from my windows 7 PC, or even from Acrobat reader on my MBP.
So, it seems that the issue is present in Preview, or at the least in the way, it prints. I hope someone can help me with this, because I use preview all the time (and I quite like the functions which are not present in Acrobat Reader)

Epson Perfection 2450 scanner not working with Mavericks

My Epson Perfection 2450 scanner stopped working when I upgraded to Mavericks, it is not recognizing the scanner. Tried restarting, using a different USB cable, a different USB port, etc...with no luck. The issue is that my computer no longer seems to recognize that I plugged it in. Tried it with Image Capture, Photoshop, Preview and even the old Epson software.
I tried downloading the Epson Scan Patch for Mavericks released on Oct 31, 2013. That did not help either.
I'm on a MacBook Pro running Mavericks version 10.9.3.
Love this scanner and don't want to have to buy another. Any help to get my Mac to recognize it would be greatly appreciated.

My wife's iMac with 10.6.6 stopped working with her Epson 2480 Photo scanner. Get the error message "SCANNER reported an error. An error has occurred during scanning" I am trying to use it from the Image Capture App or from the print/fax option in Settings which opens Image Capture. I ran the uninstall program and then reinstalled the ICA 13969 .dmg but get the same error. Not sure what else I can do.

Epson workforce 845 suddenly not working wirelessly, help!

I've had an iMac for three yrs., also bought an Epson Workforce 845 at the same time. Both have worked seamlessly. I believe that after the most recent automatic computer update, is when my printer stopped working wirelessly. I can print from my iPad and iPhone, but not from my iMac. I've been on the phone with Epson three times, they can't figure it out. My husband's mac mini won't print now either. Any suggestions as to what I can do to get my printer to print wirelessly again???? HELP!! So frustrated.

Wireless printing on HP 6500A Plus -wireless does not work

windows 7, linksys E2000 router, sony vio computer wireless N.
No issues printing by USB. When using wireless, prints first few lines, then slows to a stop. Loses feed from router and disconnects. Tried disabling all firewalls, removed antivirus, etc - nothing is working. Not the only computer in household with same issue as well - Toshiba running xp is having same problems. Need fix or I will trash printer and never purchase HP again and I have long been an HP customer for printers.

There have been a few issues with printing using the new E-series Linksys routers. Make sure the router has the latest firmware. If that does not work, set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.168.1.100 to .149. Let's use 192.168.1.200 for your printer.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

Duplicate/transfer and print layout dimensions to 8.5x11 doc not working

I am trying to set up a document with images in Photoshop using the grids and guides. I've set the page to a 8.5 x 11. I want my image to start exactly 1/2 inch from the top of the page. I set my guide to 1/2 inch and snap image to it. I print the page and the image is NOT 1/2 inch from the top. (I am trying to duplicate/transfer a layout and it's dimensions) Why does it do this and is there a way to reproduce and print the layout exactly using grids and guides?

you are correct, I do not have ID and I suspect my HP inkjet printer has something to with it...I have Photoshop CS3 on a 24" Imac and the workflow is pretty much from Ps>File>Print... (or print one copy) BTW Ramon, is there a way to work around that border/grip space or is InDesign the answer?(that I can't afford at the moment)
