Print delay

My printer gives printing response with too much delay, and some time shows no reponse at all. Print out of files (specially scanned images) comes with a long delay.

Hi @PRC-DELHI,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP LaserJet M1136 MFP will sometimes not respond at all to printing on Windows 7. I am happy to look into this printing issue for you!

  • Extremely long print delay - Mac

I am experiencing very long print delays or, in one case so far, an error message.
I downloaded Adobe Reader for Macintosh 11.0.02.  I have a Mac Mini with OS X 10.8.2.  The Mac Mini has USB 3.0.  My printer is a Brother MFC-8440 local printer, USB 2.0.  The printer driver has been updated and is current.  The Mac and Brother printer are connected via USB.
I am able to print the PDF files as images but not as documents.  Most of the PDF files I have tried to print as documents have done so but they take FOREVER to print.  For example, a 28 page PDF file might take the better part of an hour to print (that may be an exaggeration but not by much).
But on one PDF file that I tried to print I got some weird error message on the document that printed.  It says,
    ERROR NAME;
             ioerror
    COMMAND;
            flushfile
    OPERAND STACK;
            --filetype--
            --arraytype--
Strangely enough, I can see the document on-screen just fine.  But the only thing that printed on the sheet was that error message.
I am able to print documents from other applications such as Word without any issue.  So this seems to be isolated to printing PDF's.
I previously used Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows on my old PC (XP Pro, SP3, same printer) until I recently switched to the Mac.  I never had any issues with printing PDF's in a fairly quick manner with the PC.
I am only using Adobe Reader now.
My guess is that with the Mac there is probably some sort of bug in the processing software with the Brother printer.  The Brother printer has an LED that flashes as the data is being downloaded.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Does this mean the "data" goes from MBP wirelessly to AE then "upstream" to the Modem/router then back to AE then USB to printer?
No, the data should travel from the MBP wirelessly to the AEBS, and then, to the printer via the USB port on the AEBS. If; however, a network client is wired to the D-Link, then data would travel from the client to the D-Link, and then, by wire to the AEBS before it goes out the USB link to the printer.

  • Print delay with time capsule - multiple printers

    Hi
I have the print delay problem with my Samsung ML-1510 but have 2 printers connected by USB through the TC. The second printer prints well (Canon i865). Any idea how the requests could be directed to the correct printer using the set up by IP setting so I can set up the ML-1510 to print in a timely fashion? When trying the print via IP setting I can't get any output at all from the Samsung! I have not tried to set up the Canon to print via IP as it prints well via bonjour.
    Thanks

not by Protocol: HP Jetdirect - Socket..
    Drivers I try:
    Samsung ML-1510, 1.1.0

    Thanx.

  • Printing Delay

I have just installed the Airport Expreme. I have a Windows machine connected, 2 mac machines, apple TV and 2 iphones using the network at my home. Internet speed is wonderful. However,
I am have 3 min. delays in printing wirelessly. Very simple text docs such as emails for example. My Windows machine is connected directly into the LAN port. It prints quickly as it should. If i print from my macs, all wireless, then it takes sometimes 5 min to print. If i connect teh printer directly to my macbook for example, it works like a top. So wireless printing is a problem. Is there anything i can do. This seems silly......

  • InDesign CS3/Snow Leopard long print delay. Solved yet?

I have Adobe CS3 Design Premium running on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (on a Mac Mini dual core Intel w/ plenty of RAM) and while using In Design I am experiencing delays of 38-45 seconds when I use the print command (w/ spinning beach ball), even with simple 1-page test docs. I notice earlier threads on this topic, with some describing crashes (not an issue for me). Others say it's an issue for Adobe and or Apple, and the printer mfrs. (I use an HP 1300 laser).  I can live with it (because ID is a wonderful app for book layouts)  but it is vexing. Has anyone come up with a solution or a workaround yet?  Any advice much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    John Grissimn

Bingo! You absolutely described my problem.  Indeed, the long delay was only when printing from an ID file the first time each day. Thereafter the delay was minimal.  As important, the link you kindly provided gave me the precise fix. ID was taking a long time to load a huge number of Printer Device Drivers, close to a thousand, before the print command dialog box showed up. Clearly the system was needlessly bloated.
Per the link's instructions, I went to the Printer Device Drivers in my Mac Mini's library and deleted all but the PPDs I needed. After restarting my Mac and re-launching ID, the print command produced the print dialog box immediately. Hooray! Problem solved and question answered.
FWIW, although recent and current CS iterations may not have this problem, it appears this issue has been around awhile with several earlier versions of ID and PS and various Mac OS versions. I'm sure your posting will be a great help to those experiencing the same problem with earlier iterations.
I am hugely grateful. Many thanks!

  • HP P1505 laserjet print delays printing for 10 minutes or so - why?

I have a p1505 B&W laserjet on a usb connection on a WinXP printer in my lab - my Vista computer is connected through a hub - to the printer host.  Printer sharing is enabled.  This P1505 replaced an old 1200 because there were no Vista drievrs from the 1200.  What happens now is that I 'print' a file on my computer - 2 print files appear in the monitor box on my computer and the host computer - then nothing happens.  The files don't print for 10 minutes then after this long delay the file prints.  If I access the P1505 over the network from another XP or 2000 computer - the printer prints instantly.  it seems to be a VISTA problem - I have up to date drivers on both computers and have reinstalled (too oftern).
What would make the file simply sit in the printer's job queue?
A priority (1-99) has appreaded in the P1505 driver - we tried setting this to 99 - but if there are no other print jobs why would the priority make any difference?  In any case the Vista jobs get 1 as the priority whatever we do.
I can print to a network printer - 3600n - with printing starting the moment I send the file.  No waiting.

I have a new p1505n on a workgroup network with 5 other computers, all running WindowsXP Pro. As I installed the drivers on each computer, each started to fail when I try to print. The files show in the print que, but nothing prints. Even other HP printers on the same network fail to print after I install the p1505 drivers. Anything in the print que prints upon startup when I reboot a computer, but nothing else that I've tried flushes the print que. Sometimes a particular computer will work properly for 1 or 2 new print jobs after rebooting, but then stops printing.
In my experience, I've never seen an instance where HP has fixed a bad driver after a product is release. They make great efforts to get there 'Order Supplies' shortcuts everywhere, but otherwise no followup support. I'm going to look for a solution for a few days, but I'm about to give up on HP. I just installed a different HP model at another company, and it occassionally experiences a similar problem.

  • Printer delay - Waiting for output formatter

    Hello,
since 2 days, our print outs out of SAP take up to 10 minutes before the actually get printed out.
In SP01 it says "waiting for output formatter".
    - I checked table TSP01and it only has 800 entries.
    - When I do a reprint for the delayed print out, it is printing out right away with no delay.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Anne

We found the issues, so for the record:
A couple of print jobs have been sent to one printer and got stuck. The person using this printer is on vacation so nobody noticed. However after the printer has been turned off and back on, the print outs came out and the print speed for all other prints went back to normal.
Seems like this one printer was holding up all other prints.

  • SAP Label Printing delay in Intermec Printers

    Hi all,
I have created a label using LabelShop Pro and used it in a SAPScript. I noticed that there is a delay in printing the next barcode. A short pause actually. I tried all the control commands interms of setting the printer speed and Band setting. But still there's no chage, it still pauses and prints. Does anybody know what i could do on this.
    Please advice.
    Regards
    Dhanushka.

It has nothing to do with SAP. It's the printer Firmware/software that causes the delay. If you can hook a PC on the Intermecprinter you wiil se that serveral printjobs are queued up in the printer.
We had an issue with Intermec 5 years ago when we started using the Intermec 501xp/601XP printer directly from SAP.

  • Print delay 1 hour : itcpo-tdsenddate

We have just upgraded from 4.0B to ERP2005.
We are printing some EAN128 labels on a barcode printer.
The printer is placed in UK, and the user has UK timezone in his profile.
Our SAP system (both DB  and all application server) is placed in Denmark.
When users in the UK prints, the print is delays 1 hour. In SP01 the print is created, but get the status "Scheduled".
When calling the SAP script we pass the following paramters in the ITCPO structure :
      l_itcpo-tddest       = zconfig-labeldev.
      l_itcpo-tdimmed      = 'X'.
      l_itcpo-tdnewid      = 'X'.
      l_itcpo-tddelete     = ' '.
      l_itcpo-tdcopies     = '1'.
      l_itcpo-tdlifetime   = '1'.
      l_itcpo-tdprogram    = sy-repid.
      l_itcpo-tdsenddate   = sy-datum.
      l_itcpo-tdsendtime   = sy-uzeit.
I Can't se why the print from UK should not be printed immidiate - we use sy-uzint not sy-timlo
    Regards,
    Kim

    Hi Kim,
I guess the system behaves as it should: your sy-datum is the server time and it differs 1 hour with GMT. So if you print at 12.00 server time (11.00 GMT), the print will come out at 12.00 GMT (that's 13.00 server time).
Possible solution: get the difference between user and server time.
Maybe it's also not necessary to fill the tsenddate. If it's not mandatory, just try to leave it  blank.
    Cheers,
    Stefan.

  • EPrint prints delayed (by upto 30minutes)

we have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g Configured for Eprint
Viewing the Eprint Web Center shows that a job was submitted at 09:22 but nothing made its way to the printer until 09:50. Clearly the outgoing email delivery from our systems completed in a resonable timeframe - but this levle of delay to printing will mahe the service unuseable.
This affects a significant percentage (approx 30%) of all print jobs this month our printiing demand follows a monthly pattern so from approx mid Jan to the begining of this month we did no notice this issue - but it is difficult to put an exact date on the onset of this problem

  • Printing Delay/Slow in Mail 5.2 or Safari 5.1.5 on Mac OS 10.7

    Hi:
Everytime I go to print an e-mail in Mail 5.2 or Safari 5.1.5 on Mac OS 10.7.3 on my Mac Book Pro 15 inch 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, the beach ball comes up and spins for approximately 1 minute and 25 seconds.
After this time, the print dialgoue box comes up.  It prints immediately after I press print in the print dialogue box.
This issue happens only with these two programs, regardless of any printer I use to print.
I have reset the printer system, I have rebuild the mail.  I have called Apple, which led to a developer support, submitting the info, etc, but have not heard back from them.
Printing is fine from all other applications, including Parallels running Windows and Quickbooks running on Windows.
Has anyone else run across this issue?  Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

Ok, finally got a fix on it.
After running diagnostics and calling Apple, I made an appointment with tech people at the Apple Store.
Brought it in, the tech guy reset the printing system by going to system preferences, then to print and scan.
Once the print and scan dialogue box opened, he right clicked in the printer box area (the area with all the printers listed in it) and up came the option to "Reset printing system ... ".
This completely erases ALL printers and any files associated with it, and of course resets the printing system files.
I reinstalled the drivers to the printers and vuola, it worked perfectly!

  • Print delay with Time Capsule

    Hello,
Got the TC hooked up and did a backup for 3 macs around the house. That worked fine. Wireless speeds are good.
However, printing isn't quite up to speed. When I print a document (for example a single sheet of text) it takes between 5 and 20 minutes to come out of the printer.
My three computers have all finished their initial back-up and are all essentially sitting idle, so I don't think the TC is especially busy.
I uninstalled and re-installed the printer (Brother ML-2010 - TC had no problem 'seeing' it), did all the software updates (10.5.2), turned the printer off/on, etc.
Any ideas? Having the printer fire up and print 20 minutes after hitting the print button is kind of odd.
    thanks,

I had success with getting a Samsung ML-1630 to print via Time Capsule this way:
*Plug printer to TC using USB cable.
*Check what services TC is advertising for your printer using a program like Bonjour Browser.
*Look for a Printer PDL Data Stream - see what IP it is advertised on, should be the IP of your TC - usually 10.0.1.1 or 192.168.1.1, with a port number of 9100.
*Set up a new printer in Print & Fax panel by clicking the "+" button
--then click the "IP" icon in the panel that appears
--choose settings as Protocol: HP Jetdirect - Socket
--enter the IP address of your TC that you found above (leave the port number off)
--leave the queue name blank (those with multiple USB printers connected will want to experiment with this)
--you can set name and location as you like
--select other driver and navigate to the appropriate PPD from /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/
Your new printer should work as long as you don't change the internal IP of your TC. (As far as I can tell, the reason this works is that is avoids the flakey riousbprint service, forcing the Mac to print to the Jetdirect socket on port 9100. This would also explain why some posters are able to print from Windows machines but not Macs - avoiding mDNS/Bonjour/Zero-Conf is more stable, in my experience.)
Note that this setup will not necessarily allow you to print to your home printer from elsewhere on the internets, so if that's your goal, this may not be the solution for you.
Note also that I consider this a workaround at best - not a solution (hint... firmware update... hint...)

  • Laserjet 3800dn "Checking Printer" delay

Every time I send a print job to my laserjet 3800dn, It says "checking printer" and clicks and whirrs for about 30 seconds before the first page starts to print.  It only started doing this recently.  What could be causing this?

I am still struggling with this issue.  Restoring factory defaults works only temporarily, then the problem returns within a day.  Any other ideas?
