Print from Windows Explorer Right Click (Adobe Reader X, WinXP)

When I right click on a batch of PDF files in Windows Exploer (WinXP) and click "Print" Reader used to print them all to
my default printer.  With Reader X windows waits patiently for me to close Reader before printing each file.

Subject: Print from Windows Explorer Right Click (Adobe Reader X, WinXP)
I am also getting exactly the same problem, highlighting multiple pdf files right clicking and choosing "print" prints the first document, fails to close the adobe x window and sits there patiently untill it's manualy closed and then the next document prints  - repeat - loop.
Have this happening on just about every windows xp machine in the office that I try it on and any and all versions of "Adobe X" that I care to install.
would love a fix for this, reinstalling 9 manually on every PC would waste a day of my life.

  • R-Click print from Windows Explorer doesn't print actual document size.

We publish AutoCAD drawings to PDF routinely.  They are setup in 11x17 landscape format.  They are published (AutoCAD's way of printing multiple at once) to PDF in 11x17 landscape format.  When you open the file with Reader they are in 11x17 landscape format.  You can manually print them after opening from adobe reader in in 11x17 landscape format.  But, when you are in Windows Explorer, right click these PDF file(s) then click print, they are printed in 8.5x11 landscape format.
How can we get these to print in the documents actual format?  We want to be able to R-Click the file(s) and print them from Windows Explorer without having to open Reader.

Does anyone know how they can help me?  We could really use this.

  • Printing from Windows Explorer is full size

I have a number of scanned pdfs that are 11 x 17 scans. When I right mouse click on them in Windows Explorer and click print, most of our computers will automatically rotate and resize the page so that it prints properly on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. However, on one of our newer computers, it seems to be printing in full size (and not rotated), so we are not able to see the full page when printed. Interestingly enough, if you open the file first in Acrobat Reader and then print it, it seems to default to rotating and printing properly on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
This new machine is running Windows XP and has Acrobat Reader 7.0 installed. This behavior has been observed with two different printers when printed from this machine.
Is there some sort of default printing settings in Reader that I need to adjust?
    Thanks,
    Keith

If I open the file in Reader and click File-Print, the Auto-Rotate and Center checkbox is checked. Page scaling is set to "Reduce to printer margins". Clicking OK yields the expected results. However, if I close Reader and then, in Windows Explorer, right click and then click print, the resulting print out is not auto-rotated nor is it sized according to the page size. I would have assumed that the print settings would be sticky as well, but that does not appear to be the case on this computer, or at least those settings are not applied to printing from Explorer. This may be a Windows XP issue, although I only seem to have the problem with 11 x 17 pdfs. Do you have any other thoughts?

  • Can't print from Windows Explorer

After installing the "HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a", on a Windows 7 64-bit PC, that is Ethernet connected, I get the following error message:
    Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: 2061
    Char: 1
Error: Invalid procedure call or argument
    Code: 0
    URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js
When I try to print from Windows Explorer; however, I can print from other applications such as Word and Quicken OK, and I can print from Explorer OK from a Windows XP PC. Anyone have any suggestions?

The issue is caused when Windows creates the printer profile in the control panel that it doesn't correctly create it with the drivers.
We're not going to completely uninstall all the HP software, instead we're going to remove the corrupt Windows printer profile and reinstall it.  Total time for this on an average computer is about 5-10 minutes to completely repair (including reboot).
    1) Navigate to Start Menu > Devices and Printers or Start Menu > Control Panel > Printers
    2) Select each printer profile for the printer with an issue, then select remove device/printer.
    3) Reboot
    4) Navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > HP > insert model # here > Add Printer (or Setup Wizard)
    5) Follow the setup prompts to reinstall the printer profile and it recreates the Windows printer.
    6) Test by printing google.com (uses very little ink when the test page comes out).
Let me know if you have any questions or issues.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • To unpack an llb in Windows Explorer, right-click and choose from "Unpack" options (like WinZip...)

    Greetings,
To unpack an LLB in Windows Explorer, it would be convenient to right-click on the LLB and have an option to Unpack to current directory.  WinZip does this (for .zip files) via "Extract" options.
Then again, people may prefer using the "LLB Manager"(?)

  • Windows Explorer Right Click - Open file in Air App

I have an AIR App that I made to run on my desktop.  It is used for editing specifc XML files.  I want to know if its possible to setup so that I can right click on an XML file while browsing Windows Explorer and choose an option to "Open in (my AIR App)" ... that would lauch my AIR app and also open the xml.
Right now, I have to launch my AIR app, click to open a file, and then browse for the file and select it.

ok so after all of this time, i stumbled upon something that should solve my problem.  i created a new AIR file in flash and put a text field on the stage with the name "my_txt" then I just added this bit of script (below) .... then once I installed the air app, i opened a file into the app and the path to the file was displayed in the text box thats on the stage.  now i just have to use this path to actually open the file.
    import flash.events.InvokeEvent;
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.addEventListener(InvokeEvent.INVOKE, invoked);
    function invoked(evt:InvokeEvent):void{
              my_txt.text = String(evt.arguments[0]);

  • Open PDF's from Internet Explorer default to Adobe Reader

I have an old version of Acrobat, Acrobat 6 installed, but I also have Reader version 9.
When I open a PDF from a web page it tries to open in Acrobat, but is unable to because the version is old. I want PDFs from the internet to open default to Reader.
Is there a setting I can change with Acrobat, Reader or Internet Explorer to set what program it opens with?

    Sure - I quote:
"Try examing the registry as in this good old tweak from Reinhard Franke:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b6778d
    "[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe]
There you will find the full path to the program IE will use (Acrobat or Reader exe)."
E.g. the data value of the key should be - something like:
    "C:\Programs\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" (for using Reader)
    "C:\Programs\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe" (for using Acrobat)

  • Printing from Internet Explorer is blank

printing from other programs, Adobe, Excel, etc are fine. But, preview and printed page are blank from Explorer browser.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Creating PDF from explorer (Right-Click) problem

    Hello,
I am new here. I've searched the forums here and maybe I've missed finding the solution.  We recently updated from Acrobat 6 Pro to Acrobat 9 Pro, and I can no longer get a PDF to be created in the same folder the Word, Excel or other file is located.
In otherwords, when I use (under Windows Explorer) the right-click option and Convert to Adobe PDF, Acrobat 9 Pro keeps asking me where to save this file!  Under Acrobat 6 Pro, it would just create the file under the same folder unless I specified otherwise.
I have tried to look under the Word 2003 Adobe PDF "Change Conversion Settings" and I do not have the box next to Prompt for Adobe PDF file name checked.
Am I missing something? I would have assumed this simple process would have carried over from Acrobat 6 Pro. I really do not want to go through a bunch of processes just to save the PDF in the same folder. Under Acrobat 6 Pro, this was a simple task. I am not doing anything major, just converting various Word (.doc) files to PDF.
    Thanks.

Using Windows 7, Acrobat 10.0.1, basically the same problem.
Explorer > Right-Click > Convert to Adobe PDF
brings up the Save As dialog and if you'll notice the path in the address bar at the top, it defaults to the last folder in which you created a PDF.
In the Save As dialog, browse to the folder in which you want to save the PDF then click the Save button. This folder will stay in effect until you change it by browsing to a different one in the Save As dialog.
Using Acrobat X, I tried everything I could think of to get a fast, efficient way of converting multiple files to PDF (with the same name and in the same folder as the source files) and, unfortunately, the method described above seems to be the fastest. I tried drag and drop to an Adobe PDF printer shortcut and that didn't work at all--it did nothing! In Acrobat X, File > Create > Batch Create Multiple Files will present a dialog with options for saving to the same folder and keeping the same name as the source file, although it seems like the files process slower in addition to having to click 8 times (not counting selecting the files) before the process begins.
I fervently hope that Adobe will change Explorer > Right-Click > Convert to Adobe PDF back to automatically saving to the same folder as the source document.

  • Invalid pointer when printing from Internet Explorer 64 bit with Adobe Reader 11.0.7

If I print a PDF file in Internet Explorer 8 or 9 64 bit with Adobe Reader 11.0.7 on a Windows 2008 R2 server with the File --> Print (or CTRL+P) option, the file won't print. It generates the error "Er is een onjuiste parameter" (Dutch version). I can print the PDF file with the Adobe Reader option. The 32 bits version of IE8 or IE9 works fine. Also the Adobe Reader versions before 11.0.7 works fine. One fix in 11.0.7 is "64 bit IE plugin - required to run IE 11 with Enhanced Protected Mode on in Win 7". Is this the reason that IE8 or IE9 64 bits doesn't work anymore with the CTRL+P option?

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.htmlThen, you can download the full offline Reader installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Windows vista, internet explorer 8 and adobe reader 9

I have windows vista, internet explorer 8 and adobe reader 9.  When i open pdf files from a website i cannot save the document.  I don't get an error message, it just does not open.

Have you tried capturing these application in separate packages?  I have been successful in capturing IE8 in one package and Adobe Reader XI in another package and then using the OptionalAppLinks option in the IE8 package to point to the Adobe Reader dat file.  Just make sure that both packages work outside of the applinking.  Also, you can try to install Adobe to the native machine and see if the embedded pdfs work in the virtual IE package.
These are just the troubleshooting steps that I would take to narrow down what is causing the issue you are seeing.

  • Unable to save document - Read Only or Open by another user error occurs when PDF is opened from Windows Explorer

Adobe Pro XI  - using Windows 7 Pro OS
When a PDF document is opened from Windows Explorer, and pages are added, deleted, notations made, any type of changes, it cannot be saved until Windows Explorer is fully closed.  If you try to save the document, you receive the following error - "The document could not be saved.  The file may be read-only, or another user may have it opened.  Please save the document with a different name or in a differnt folder. "   I have confirmed the document is not read only, it is not open by another user, and it is not open multiple times.  Once you fully close Windows Explorer, and try to save the document, it saves without a problem.
Are there settings in either Adobe Pro XI or Windows that will allow you to save documents without closing Windows Explorer first?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.  This error is a frustration since I open all my documents through Windows Explorer.
