Print Job Stopped on HP1300 using APEX

Hello,
I noticed several user have problems with their printer connected via Airport. Mine used to work fine, until I changed my internet provider two weeks ago and had to input the new details, and re started the APEX. Internet is working very well, so does ITunes wireless, just when I send a print job, it just stops. It is recognised via Bonjour, but does not responds. Printing works fine via USB. Are there any settings I overlooked?
I have an IBook bought May 2005 with Tiger from Apple Store Germany together with printer HP1300 and several Airport Express Stations.
I appreciate any help!

Hello Henry,
all Airport Stations are recognised. I just connected the printer to the station in the living room, listen to music from ITunes right now, printer is recognised connected to this Airport Station, but the print job still stops.
It is frustrating, and a hassle to connect the printer via USB each time you need to print......BUT....nothing compared to the hassle I had with "other" operation system LOL!
Thank you for your reply

  • Airport Express HP6500, print job stopped errors

Looks like this is a re-occuring theme and many posts here indicate it's a common problem with Cannon Printers, but I'm using an HP 6500, and have been for over a year with no probelm. Now I get a print job stopped message, and when I try to restart the job, I am told a connection could not be made.
I have tried deleting and re-adding the HP - no luck.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

OK - so the printer is a 6540, but in the print area under preferences, it calls it a 6500 - what gives?

  • Print job stops

I can print on my Epson R2400 from Photoshop when I go to External Editor, but whenever I try to print via Aperture, the print job stops.
I've been printing successfully with earlier versions of Aperture. I've reinstalled Aperture 1.1.2 and I've deleted and added the R2400.

  • HP 1505n - Print Jobs stop when sent to queue

I recently purchased an HP LaserJet 1505n for my home office. I have several Mac's all running 10.5.1 all connecting to it. Most print to it via the network (Bonjour) but I do have 1 Mac hooked up directly via USB to the printer. So, both the USB And Network Interfaces are being used on the printer (which is why I bought it).
Every now and then when I try to print, the print job just stops immediately in the queue. When I try to restart it, it stops again. Sometimes physically resetting the printer works, but rarely. I have also deleted the queues and re-added them. Nothing seems to work. It seem that Adobe Acrobat files never print, but Firefox will always. (Strange...)
I have read a few other threads on this issue and they all mention that it is a driver issue from HP. I have try to get the OpenSource drivers, but I have not found any for the HP 1505n.
Below is the /var/log/cups/error_log. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Do I just wait for an OpenSource driver or HP to update their drivers?
    Thanks!

This is what I got from HP...need to grab CVs and Libraries Folder from a PowerPC mac.
    and...it works!
Intel Mac fix for Office 2004
    1. On a computer that can still print using Office 2004, go to HD>System>Library>Printers and control+click on Libraries and Create Archive. In the same location, control+click on the CVs folder and Create Archive. Save these Archived (zip) folders to the Desktop.
    2. Copy these two Archived (zip) folders to the Intel Mac that cannot print. *note – you will need a network connection to the computer or a flash drive.
    3. Make sure you quit all applications including Safari, Entourage etc.
    4. Create a New Folder on the Desktop of the Intel Mac (Name this folder “Backup of Libraries and CVs”)
    5. Open the Macintosh HD>System>Library folder and control+click on the Printers folder and select Get Info. Click on Name & Location and set the permissions for Everyone to Read & Write.
    6. Open the Printers folder and drag the Libraries and CVs folder to the new folder you had just created to backup the old files.
    7. Extract the Archived Libraries and CVs folder you have copied to the Intel Mac by double clicking on the folders.
    8. Copy the extracted Libraries and CVs folders to the Printers folder (You will be asked to authenticate the copy)
    9. Restart the Computer.
    10. Open Disk Utility and select your Macintosh HD Volume. Select Repair Permissions.
    11. Open a MS Office document and print to verify the issue is resolved.

  • Print Jobs Stop -- First w Panther, Now w Tiger and New Printer!

I was dealing with multiple problems, so I'm not sure where to start. I was using a G4 with Panther when, among other things, I could no longer print because anytime I sent something to the printer the job would stop. Trying to start it again didn't work. My hard drive crapped out (separate issue I now realize) and I had it replaced w/ a new hard drive installed with Tiger & also purchased a new printer. I installed the new printer (for now I have it connected directly via USB) and to my surprise and chagrin I still can't print for the same reason! The job stops immediately after I send the document to print. Trying to re-start, or deleting and printing again, etc. does nothing. I've been through all the troubleshooting tips on the support page and am at wit's end. The problem doesn't seem to be specific to an application, an OS, or the printer. The Mac guy who set up my new hard drive did save as much as possible from the old one & migrated it to the new. He must have transferred the glitch, but what could it be? Please help.

    Thanks a lot Greg.
I had problems printing to shared printer which was connected to my mac downstairs from my powerbook over airport. Kept on coming up as printer stopped. I turned all off and on, reinstalled drivers, deleted printers, and nothing worked 'till I found your tip.
I love the mac community, keep up the good work.

  • "Print jobs stopped" message

All of a sudden, when I command print a message box comes up "Printing jobs on this printer are stopped". I haven't changed any settings that I know of. Also... my Print Setup Utility is apparently gone from my applications. When I double click it in my applications or from my system preferences it doesn't come up. It just flashes and disappears so I can't change the settings to "resume jobs" or anything.
    Help!

We have a Mac workstation recently updated from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11. A document can print just by clicking the Print icon. However, if using FILE/PRINT so that a tray can be chosen the whole application crashes. This happens with every application Word, EXCEL, iCAL, etc. Why is that? I deleted and recreated all printers on the workstation and the same thing still happens. The iMac is a 17" G4 model.
    Help!!

  • Print jobs stopping for no reason

    Hi,
For some reason print jobs simply stop when sent to server print queues. The client queue shows "Connecting to 192.168.1.201 at port 631..." when the job is sent, then it halts & the job sits in the queue.
I've tried recreating the queues by deleting the printers from the server system prefs, adding them in again (as both LPD and IPP) by specifying their IP addresses. Does it matter what I spec for the queue name? Is it better to use the default or something that matches
There's some suspicious stuff in the print service log (see below), such as "shared == 0" for each of the queues & the final "master LPR sharing state = 0" after rebooting the server. If these are the culprits, how do I change the sharing state?

  • Print Jobs Stopped & Cannot Start

    Canon BJC-8200 USB Printer
From within any application, after completing the Page Setup, and choosing Print, completed choices... then click on Print.
Going to Printer Setup Utility, my printer shows, Jobs Stopped. I click on Start Jobs. For just a moment, it appears the job is starting, then suddenly it shows Jobs Stopped.
Using the installed Canon driver software (up to date), and in BJC-8200 utility, it shows Jobs Stopped. I repeat the steps as with Printer Setup Utility, and get the same results...
Both utilities show my printer and show Jobs Stopped.
    PBti 660 G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Canon Driver v1.4.3 for Mac OS X

Try these generic steps one at a time:
Delete and re-ADD the printer(s) in Printer Setup.
    Repair permissions (Disk Utility).
Delete Print Prefs - search for (File>Find) files that start with com.apple.print and delete them all and reboot.
Reset Printing System (new in Tiger) - In Printer Setup, click this menu item found just above Quit Printer Setup.
If there is a downloadable Combination Updater from Apple, use it to re-Update OS X.
Try Printer Setup Repair from www.fixamac.net.
Use a Disk Utility like Disk Warrior to repair the HD.

  • HP LaserJet 5si won't print -- jobs stopped

    Mac G5 OSX 10.4.x
LaserJet 5si with 2552 Jet direct card
    Networked via Linksys switch
I lost my internet connection to all computers yesterday and ended up having to reset my Linksys Router. Now everything works except this printer which is connected to the router through a workgroup switch. Printer shows up in Printer list. Jobs get spooled to printer. I get a message that jobs for this printer are stopped. When I click "start" it looks like it is printing, but then shows up as "jobs stopped".
Apple Talk is active. Disk Utility did a repair disk permissions. I have taken the Jet Direct card out and reinstalled it. I have reinstalled the LaserJet drive software.
    Can anyone help me???
    Marjorie

I am having the same problem with my Espon Stylus CX6600, but only with certain programs. Dialatech told me to go into Page Setup and make sure where my printer was selected under "Format for." Don't know why it wouldn't work when "Any printer" was selected, but it worked great for a couple months. The problem's back now, even though my printer is selected in the "Format for" thing, but maybe this will help for you. Please post if you come up with any other solution!

  • Print jobs stuck in queue using P4015n LaserJet

I setup a P4015n LaserJet printer for one of my clients using the RJ45 connection from the printer. My client has 4 computers 2 Windows 7 64 bit systems, 1 Windows 7 32 bit system and 1 Windows XP 32 bit system.  I set the network ip address, subnet mask and default gateway manually on the printer. Sometimes printing from the Windows 7 64 bit systems the jobs get stuck in the queue and you have to delete them before you can print again. The other 2 computers do not have any issues printing and they where setup using the drivers from the CD. I downloaded the latest PCL 6 drivers for the Windows 7 64 bit systems.  Looking for some suggestions.
    Thanks

Ok the problem happened on one of the 32 bit computers so it is not a 64 bit issue.  Still looking for some suggestions.
    Thanks

  • Firefox does not queue print jobs until after quitting (using lpr on RHEL5).

Using several versions of firefox 3+ including 3.6.3, print jobs using lpr aren't queued until firefox quits. This is confirmed on both RHEL5 and Ubuntu 10.04. We configured gtkrc to allow lpr printing, and it prints correctly, but only after firefox closes. This is valid in a clean firefox install as well as more customized versions. Other gtk-enabled apps (e.g., acroread) do not show this problem.

  • Print job stopped without reason

hi, i am connected to a network printer. whenever i try to print the job is stopped unexpectedly and no error message is given. It just says: "Job stopped" in the printer window and stays in the active queue. if i click "start jobs" at the top it starts again and stops again. With out reason. The printer driver are installed. The kind is NRG DSc38u PS
    Hope somebody can help.
    thanks

When ever I have this problem I restart the printer by unpluging it and waiting for about 30 seconds. Then if that doesnt work, go hook the printer directly up to the computer and make sure that someting is not stoped in the printer que.
I hope that that helps you.

We have a bunch of Xerox 7750s setup via IPP. When we upgraded to 10.5.2 all print jobs sent to them appear in the cue as Stopped. When I re-setup some of the print cues via AppleTalk most of them work, but not all. I've tried the firewall suggestions mentioned here

Any suggestions on how to get my IPP to work?

  • Print jobs stopped

Working on my 1-year old PowerMac G5, OSX 10.4.8, everything has been fine until 2 days ago. Happily printing to an HP LaserJet 1320 the job suddenly stopped, and I have not been able to start any job to that printer since. Connection is direct USB. When I connect the HP to my MacBookPro it works fine. Also when I send a document from the G5 to the MBP via my network, the document prints.
Repaired Permission- no luck. Suspecting drivers, I went to HP site downloaded the recent driver, no luck. Went back and reinstalled original driver form OSx startup disk, no luck, then installed driver that came with the HP disk. Nada.
Gave up for a while (I'm on a deadline to prepare prints for a show), got to work printing on Epson 2200. Same scenario... no prior problems, printing happily (for 2.5 days SINCE the problem with the HP)... then the nasty Stop Job problem kicked in again, this time with the 2200.
Last night called Apple Support who had me create a new User and print from that Ownership... IT WORKED!!! He had me do a few other things, primarily trash the Caches in both libraries.
Got off the phone happy and relieved. Went back to work returning to my regular User, and the trouble came back first time I tried to print again! Went back to the test User but still won't print.
I'd call support again, but it is a Sunday and I would rather speak with a tech in the Apple business office (Mon-Fri) rather than another nice person from India. Thought I'd give this forum a try.
I greatly appreciate any help and of course a solution. I am going around the problem right now, using the MacBookPro, but I have a lot more prints to get ready for the show and this is very ineffiicient. Not to mention I want to get this problem resolved.
    thanks much
