i am using gnome and adobe reader to open pdf file. however, is there anyway i can print the files without open them ?

lpr somefile.pdf - as long as cups is configured correctly.

Hi, i am using windows XP and i just installed Adobe Reader X onto a workstation within' my office. I use to have Adobe Reader 9 where i could just open a folder with my PDF's. For example, My Documents folder and right click on the PDF i want to print, without opening the file in Adobe Reader first and then clicking print. With Adobe Reader X, i can't do the right click option and print because nothing happens.
Is they an option in Adobe Reader X i need to turn on or off, to get the function of printing by right clicking on the PDF file without opening Reader X to print please ?

Is it happening all the times or happened just in the starting when you hadn't accepted EULA?
Is it still happening after accepting EULA?
Also, can you please tell what printer exactly are you using?

Action to print a file without opening it

Hi. I'm using Action Script 2. I'm creating a CD ROM that
launches external files such as PDF's, PowerPoint and Word
Documents. My client has asked that when a user clicks on an icon
to launch a file, that a dialogue appears for the user to either
open the file or just print without opening. Is there a script out
there to tell the flash player to communicate with the file and
instruct it print, without opening?

Create multiple pdf files and open them at once from java application

I came across a very unique problem , i am hoping some one could help me out with that .
I am using itext to create pdf files , i have filtered some records (preferably i can say around 90) which has the option to open pdf for individual record.
Now i need to open all the pdf's of filtered records on a single click , without asking for a open dialogue box.
Can anyone give me an idea how to go about this ??

The simplest thing I can think of is to call Desktop.start() for each selected file wich will start the defaut application registred for the file type in the users system for each selected file. In this case it depends on the associated program and/or its configuration if it starts a single instance showing all the files or a separate instance for each file. The beauty of this method is that you don't need to know what reader application the user has installed nor where it is located on her hard disk.
The other option that comes to my mind is ProcessBuilder. There you could set all selected files as parameter list to the call of the viewer application.
This also does not asure that all files get openned in the same single instance but the chance is much higher. At the down side you need to know what viewer application the user has installed and where. Also: when speaking of 90 files you most likely rung into a limitation of the maximum length of the systems command line.

How to view pdf files without downloading them on firefox for android

I use an Electronic Medical Record program using Firefox for android on a a Samsung Galaxy Pro 12.2 tablet. I need to view patient pdf files on the tablet. So far, the only way I have been able to accomplish this is to download the file first. It would be more efficient if I could just view the pdf file on the Galaxy tablet without having to download it. Is it possible to do this with Firefox for android? Thanks.

Perform the following steps to enable thumbnails to be shown:
1. Launch File Explorer (Winkey+E).
2. Click the View tab at the top of the window.
3. Click the Options button.
4. In the Folder Options window that appears, click on the View tab..
5. Uncheck the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option.
6. Click Apply, then OK.

If they can all have the same password, just make 200 copies of the protected file in your operating system...
Edit: I think I misread your initial post. If the files are not identical, you can use an Action to encrypt all files using the same password.

Is there any wat to print attachments in a PDF Portfolio without opening each attachment individually?

We have a large PDF Portfolio with many attachments and would like to print those items all at once without opening every single attachment. I would think think that this is possible considering I took the files from outlook 2003 and you are able to print an email and its attachments in that program. If anyone knows how to do this, I would appreciate the help.

Portfolios only support the printing of PDF files (more specifically, PDF files whose security permissions allow printing). You can print all PDF files in a Portfolio without opening them all simply by opening the Portfolio and clicking on the print button in the Portfolio toolbar. If desired, you can also limit it to a selection of PDF files.
Unfortunately non-PDF files will need to be opened and printed individually from their respective apps.

If the receipts were displayed inline or in the message body, you could set up FiltaQuilla to Print the messages, and to have the printing done in the background without having to OK each message, the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/printingtools/ Printing Tools] add-on would help.
But for only 20 messages per day, it may not be worth going to the trouble of setting up this method.
