Print to Video - not working as expected

I'm trying to the Print to Video command to record my project on DV tape.
I'm using firewire for computer to camera connection. My MAC firewire port is configured for my camera model - SONY DRV-TRV-900.
My Sequence and Capture presets are the same: DV NTSC 48kHz. (My Capture preset summary shows that it is for DRV-TRV-900).
My Device Control preset is: Firewire NTSC.
Video Playback is: Apple Firewire NTSC (720x480).
Audio Playback is: Firewire DV.
When I select -Print to Video- my camera does go from STANDBY to REC and the timecode starts rolling. But when the image appears on my computer monitor it is not being recorded onto the DV tape.
In troubleshooting I did put my camera into VTR and then I was able to play the video from my project out to the camera LCD screen.
Appreciate any replies.

Thanks for this info. I had tried Edit to Tape before and had some degree of Device Control but the actual video was not being recorded to tape although the camera indicated it was recoding.
This is pretty much the same situation if I use Print to Video.
IN and OUT points are marked... and with both PTV and ETT I've configured to try both of the settings to record from - In to OUT- and -Entire Media-.
Note that in the FCP 5 manual it says "FCP cannot record to your camcorder when it is set to CAMERA Mode" and "Make sure your video equipment is connected to your computer, turned on and set to VCR, sometimes labeled as VTR."
So I've tried this setup on my camera and also have tried the CAMERA mode. Whether the camera is set to CAMERA mode or VTR the problem is the same...no video being recorded to the DV tape.
Is my explanation here clear?
Thanks
Jim

  • Hdv print to video not working

    Hi,
    I am trying to print to video an HDV sequence, at HDV quality but neither my Macbook Pro nor G5 will see my Sony HVR10P or Canon XHA1. It is true that Final Cut Supports output to HDV decks using Print to Video yes? I can see the HDV Firewire 1440 setting in the External Video menu but it is greyed out.
    On both the Camera and Deck I've tried all the different settings to get an HDV input signal, but to no avail. I'm also not getting a DV signal to tape using print to video. I can get the still image of the current frame though.
    From what I've read this is supposed to be possible... does anyone have any suggestions? Going a bit nuts here after a couple of days,
    thanks,
    sam

    Finally I've cracked it. There are a host of alternative HDV firewire setting in the Audio Video Settings. I was using the Sony HDV firewire setting which it defaulted to after recognising the Sony HDR10P deck. After trying HDV Firewire Basic and NDF to Print to Video there was no warning window "incompatible device" or "this sequence is not copmpatible with HDV Print to Video". It played through with a 2 second delay. However it wasn't stable - a large glitch at the beginning of the recording and no audio came through. Then tweaked to HDV Firewire 25fps Basic and it kept coming up with "run out of memory" just after conforming. It seems it IS possible but my systems are having teething problems and I should upgrade to FCP 6 - hopefully memory issues will be resolved there.
    Thanks..
    sam

  • Print to Video not working!!

    I'm using Final Cut Express 2.0.3. and I'm having a helluva time!
    Right now, I'm trying to export my movie I made back onto a miniDV tape .... using the "PRINT TO VIDEO" option under the FILE heading. It starts to play on the computer, I have my Canon video camera hooked up via FireWire, the camera starts to record, but I don't get any image on the camera - no image or audio. Is there some option I'm missing???
    Thanks!

    Perhaps also make sure that your camera is on "VTR" or playback mode, instead of record mode when you actually shoot images from the camera. Or "Refresh" video devices; hope this helps a bit.

  • Print history filter not working as expected

    We have four HP LaserJet 400 M401dn printers which are used soley for ePrinting, within my organisation. This afternoon we noticed that emails generated by the cloud-hosted web application to which we subscribe, and sent to one of the four printers, were not printed. There are no signs of the emails within the print history i.e. HP Connected > Collections>| PRINTING.
    In attempting to troubleshoot this, I manually sent an email to the printer, which printed out normally. However I noticed that the manual printout's print history entry is only visible in print history when the unfiltered 'All Printers' top-right dropdown is set. If I click the dropdown and set it to the printer email address to which I sent the message (and subsequently printed it), the print history is completely empty - no entries at all.
    I suspect the original problem with printing from the web app is a transient one as I noticed the HP Connected message "We are currently offline for maintenance. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please check back soon." this morning, but I thought I'd point out the print history problem since I guess it may be a bug?
    I'd be interested to know if other users have encountered this. The print history filter is extremely useful, but obviously it needs to work properly.

    Untitled_Doc,
    I am glad to help. Some printers are classified as business printers and others are classified as home use printers. I shared the link above to get to it, if you have any further issues and want to post again at a later date.
    Thank you for using the HP forums.

  • Subtraction of two key figures normalized to result not working as expected

    Hello SAP Community!
    I am having problems with getting the right result from a subtraction of two KFs which are "normalized to results" which means the KFs really have values expressed as percentages. The substraction that should be performed is of two percentages (e.g.: 87.298% - 85.527% = 1.77%) but my report prints out the result as "number of units" instead (e.g.: 87.298% - 85.527% = 71,514.00 EA). The two normalized KFs actually "point" to two stock KFs, hence the "number of units".
    In order to explain the problem I am facing please analyze below text:
    1) Let's assume I have below data:
    LOAD MONTH  PLANT    MATERIAL HORIZON MONTH     FORECAST UNITS
    200805         PLANT-A  MAT-1            200805         510,235.00
    200805         PLANT-B  MAT-1           200805          74,240.00
    200805         PLANT-A  MAT-1           200806         438,721.00
    200805         PLANT-B  MAT-1           200806          74,240.00
    200805         PLANT-A  MAT-1           200807         356,981.00
    200805         PLANT-B  MAT-1           200807          74,240.00
    200806         PLANT-A  MAT-1           200805               0.00
    200806         PLANT-B  MAT-1           200805               0.00
    200806         PLANT-A  MAT-1           200806         510,235.00
    200806         PLANT-B  MAT-1           200806          74,240.00
    200806         PLANT-A  MAT-1           200807         438,721.00
    200806         PLANT-B  MAT-1           200807          74,240.00
    2) Then, assume I have a comparison report, restricted by load month for two months May and June 2008 (filter restricted by two month variables) with FORECAST units spread accross columns for whole horizon (two months also in this case).
    Material  Plant                                 2008/06     2008/07
    ===================================================================
    MAT1      PLANT-A
                       Base Units (May 2008)        438,721.00  356,981.00
                       Comparison Units (June 2008) 510,235.00  438,721.00
              PLANT-B
                       Base Units (May 2008)         74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Comparison Units (June 2008)  74,240.00   74,240.00
              TOTALS   Base Units                   512,961.00  431,221.00
                       Comparison Units             584,475.00  512,961.00
    3) Now, let's suppose we want to know the proportions (%) of Base vs Comparison units, so
    we normalize forecats to results an we get the below report:
    Material  Plant                                 2008/06     2008/07
    ===================================================================
    MAT1      PLANT-A
                       Base Units (May 2008)        438,721.00  356,981.00
                       Base Units % (May 2008)      85.527%     85.527%
                       Comparison Units (June 2008) 510,235.00  438,721.00
                       Comparison Units %(Jun 2008) 87.298%     82.784%
              PLANT-B
                       Base Units (May 2008)         74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Base Units % (May 2008)       14.473%     15.702%
                       Comparison Units (June 2008)  74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Comparison Units %(Jun 2008)  12.702%     17.216%
              TOTALS   Base Units                   512,961.00  431,221.00
                       Comparison Units             584,475.00  512,961.00
    4) Finally, let's suppose we want to know the deltas (differences) of Base vs Comparison
    units, for both number of units and %. The report now look as below:
    Material  Plant                                 2008/06     2008/07
    ===================================================================
    MAT1      PLANT-A
                       Base Units (May 2008)        438,721.00  356,981.00
                       Base Units % (May 2008)      85.527%     85.527%
                       Comparison Units (June 2008) 510,235.00  438,721.00
                       Comparison Units %(Jun 2008) 87.298%     82.784%
                       Delta base vs. comp. units %  1.77%       2.74%
                       Delta base vs. comp. units    71,514.00  81,740.00
              PLANT-B
                       Base Units (May 2008)         74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Base Units % (May 2008)       14.473%     15.702%
                       Comparison Units (June 2008)  74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Comparison Units %(Jun 2008)  12.702%     17.216%
                       Delta base vs. comp. units %  -1.77%      -2.74%
                       Delta base vs. comp. units         0.00        0.00
              TOTALS   Base Units                   512,961.00  431,221.00
                       Comparison Units             584,475.00  512,961.00
    5) PROBLEM:
    In my report, the "Delta base vs. comp. units %" is not working as expected and
    calculates number of units just as "Delta base vs. comp. units" does instead of calculating the % difference.
    So my report looks as follows:
    Material  Plant                                 2008/06     2008/07
    ===================================================================
    MAT1      PLANT-A
                       Base Units (May 2008)        438,721.00  356,981.00
                       Base Units % (May 2008)      85.527%     85.527%
                       Comparison Units (June 2008) 510,235.00  438,721.00
                       Comparison Units %(Jun 2008) 87.298%     82.784%
                       Delta base vs. comp. units %  71,514.00  81,740.00 <<<WRONG!!
                       Delta base vs. comp. units    71,514.00  81,740.00
              PLANT-B
                       Base Units (May 2008)         74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Base Units % (May 2008)       14.473%     15.702%
                       Comparison Units (June 2008)  74,240.00   74,240.00
                       Comparison Units %(Jun 2008)  12.702%     17.216%
                       Delta base vs. comp. units %       0.00        0.00
                       Delta base vs. comp. units         0.00        0.00
              TOTALS   Base Units                   512,961.00  431,221.00
                       Comparison Units             584,475.00  512,961.00
    The formulas are:
    a) Delta base vs. comp. units %
      Delta base vs. comp. units % = Comparison Units % - Base Units %
    b) Delta base vs. comp. units
      Delta base vs. comp. units = Comparison Units - Base Units
    The KFs
    - Comparison Units %
    - Base Units %
    Are RESTRICTED key figures (restricted to Base and comparison month variables) which
    are setup as:
    1) Calculate Result As:  Summation of Rounded Values
    2) Calculate Single Value as: Normalization of result
    3) Calculate Along the Rows
    The KFs
    - Delta base vs. comp. units %
    - Delta base vs. comp. units
    are FORMULAS setup to:
    1) Calculate Result As:  Nothing defined
    2) Calculate Single Value as: Nothing defined
    3) Calculate Along the Rows: user default direction (grayed out)
    Thanks for the time taken to read in detail all of this. Long text but necessary to understand what the problem is.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Mario

    Hi,
    The subraction will be carried out before doing the normalization of your KF's. So, it is displaying "number of units". Create a calculated keyfigure and subtract the KF's and in the properties of this calculated keyfigure, change the enhancement as "After Aggregation".
    I hope this will solve your issue.
    Regards,
    S P.

  • The print tab does not work in mapquest

    The print tab does not work in mapquest

    You are on the right track to getting the printer installed regarding firewall but perhaps it has saved in a different port on your computer than can communicate correctly.  Search Devices and Printers on the Windows 8 PC so you can pull up the printers' folder. Do you see the Officejet 6500 in here (meaning have you installed it again)?  If you do not see it here, check your Print Server Properties and make sure the driver is not in here either, if so remove it.  Restart the Print Spooler. Make sure you uninstall it completely and shut down the PC (see video link on how to uninstall HP drivers and restart the print spooler in Windows 8 if needed).
    Remember to re-install the Full Feature Software and Drivers (for your OS and region) when the PC reboots.  Try the test print and if it does not print:
    1. Right-click on it and select Printer Properties.
    2. Under the Ports tab make sure you see the printer's IP address here or a serial number.  Sometimes the HP network -rediscovery ports can be tricky.
    3. When the printer is high-lighted in this window, click Add Port.
    4. Select Standard TCP/IP and follow the rest of the prompts in the Wizard to enter in the printer's current IP address.
    5. Try to print.
    If this does not help you, you may have other computer problems.
    Have you ever installed a printer on this PC before?
    What is the name of the anti-virus software you use?
    Are you on a server, proxy, or other elaborate wireless setup?
    Answer those questions for me please if the above information does not help you. I will do my best to assist.
    Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

    Hi @sam1211 ,
    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and Bluetooth and HP Simplepass complications since doing a Windows upgrade. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application. Just to make sure all drivers and software are updated as well.
    Here is a document on troubleshooting and using Bluetooth if needed. Under the tips for finding a Bluetooth device, there is a section on making sure the wireless communication is turned on. This is an important section.
    Here is another document with some great information about Bluetooth fixes.
    Here is a link to troubleshoot the HP Simplepass software.
    The HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software must be updated to v8.00.57 or later. Here is a link to download the latest. You will have to uninstall the old software.
    Hope this helps you with the Bluetooth and HP Simplepass.
    Thanks.

  • Silverlight 5 binding on a property with logic in its setter does not work as expected when debug is attached

    My problem is pretty easy to reproduce.
    I created a project from scratch with a view model.
    As you can see in the setter of "Age" property I have a simple logic.
        public class MainViewModel : INotifyPropertyChanged
                public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
                private int age;
                public int Age
                    get
                        return age;
                    set
                        /*Age has to be over 18* - a simple condition in the setter*/
                        age = value;
                        if(age <= 18)
                            age = 18;
                        OnPropertyChanged("Age");
                public MainViewModel(int age)
                    this.Age = age;
                private void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
                    if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
                        PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    In the MainPage.xaml
         <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="White">
                <TextBox
                    Text="{Binding Path=Age, Mode=TwoWay}"
                    HorizontalAlignment="Left"
                    Width="100"
                    Height="25"/>
                <TextBlock
                    Text="{Binding Path=Age, Mode=OneWay}"
                    HorizontalAlignment="Right"
                    Width="100"
                    Height="25"/>
            </Grid>
    And MainPage.xaml.cs I simply instantiate the view model and set it as a DataContext.
        public partial class MainPage : UserControl
            private MainViewModel mvm;
            public MainPage()
                InitializeComponent();
                mvm = new MainViewModel(20);
                this.DataContext = mvm;
    I expect that this code will limit set the Age to 18 if the value entered in the TextBox is lower than 18.
    Scenario: Insert into TextBox the value "5" and press tab (for the binding the take effect, TextBox needs to lose the focus)
    Case 1: Debugger is attached =>
    TextBox value will be "5" and TextBlock value will be "18" as expected. - WRONG
    Case 2: Debugger is NOT attached =>
    TextBox value will be "18" and TextBlock value will be "18" - CORRECT
    It seems that when debugger is attached the binding does not work as expected on the object that triggered the update of the property value. This happens only if the property to which we are binding has some logic into the setter or getter.
    Has something changed in SL5 and logic in setters is not allowed anymore?
    Configuration:
    VisualStudio 2010 SP1
    SL 5 Tools 5.1.30214.0
    SL5 sdk 5.0.61118.0
    IE 10
    Thanks!

    Inputting the value and changing it straight away is relatively rare.
    Very few people are now using Silverlight because it's kind of deprecated...
    This is why nobody has reported this.
    I certainly never noticed this problem and I have a number of live Silverlight systems out there.
    Some of which are huge.
    If you want a "fix":
    private void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
    if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
    //PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    Storyboard sb = new Storyboard();
    sb.Duration = new Duration(new TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 0, 100));
    sb.Completed += delegate
    PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    sb.Begin();
    The fact this works is interesting because (I think ) it means the textbox can't be updated at the point the propertychanged is raised.

  • Print Spooler does not work after Win 8.1 install

    I upgraded several computers to Win 8.1.  Most are operating normally and do not have this problem.  This is relevant to show that it is not a printer hardware or compatibility problem.  On one computer, the print function is not working.
    I've tried reinstalling printers, getting new drivers, etc.  It comes down to this.  An active (connected) printer is selected and print test page is selected.  The dialog box says that the print queue is full.  I went to the queue subdirectory
    and deleted all files, no change to the results.  The Print spooler is active in task manager.  Stopping and restarting the print spooler makes no difference.  Any ideas?

    I had similar problems with HP Printers on the LAN (after upgrade from Windows 8 tot 8.1
    32bit)
    HP Laserjet 4000  Laserjet 4050 and Laserjet 4250 - all with Network interface.
    Erratic behaviour: inserting blank pages, no duplex printing, programs stalling when printing etc…
    Printers and network are fully functional and work perfectly with W7 and XP. Not with Windows 8.1.
    Strange thing: Epson Aculaser and Ricoh Aficio 3224  worked fine but those were installed after the Windows update.
    So definitely something with the Microsoft drivers for the HP Laserjet printers.
    After a few installs and uninstalls of the HP printer drivers the problems stayed.
    Then I removed all HP related driver files (C:\\Windows\\system32\\spool\\PRINTERS")
    and all references in the Register because the standard uninstall of the drivers did not remove all files.
    -> First uninstall ALL  HP printers (laserjet, deskjet, officejet etc ..)
    -> Then look in
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Print Processors]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers]
    Make a backup of the registry keys and then remove all files starting with hp….
    Remove the print processors starting with hp
    (i.e. hpzpplhn.exe)
    Then restart your system.
    Reinstall the printers, they should be OK now.
    If you still have duplex printing problems : replace the hpzpplhm print processor with the winprint processor. (may give other limitations, google for more info).
    In my case this solved the erratic printing problems.

  • Ipad 2 Print button does not work after 6 upgrade?

    Since we upgraded to iOS6, our print button does not work and does not find our printer.  It was working fine until iOS6.  Called an Apple Technician and he had me reset, which wiped out all of my saved information but didn't fix the print.  He then started talking about a restore but the phone line went dead.  Has anyone had this problem?

    Today's iOS 6.1 update fixed the printer problem.

  • We need to get some help and explanations about iChat video not working.

    I've read so many postings about iChat Video hoping for an answer to my problem, but not only did I not find an answer, no one else has been receiving an answer either.
    I've had multiple problems with my ichat video not working.
    I either get an error saying someone didn't accept which isn't the case, or I get some error-8 or something ridiculous like that.
    Can we get some help from apple support or something?!

    Short answer: No, we can´t...!
    Apple don´t care about us users, unless you pay for an Apple Care Service. Try your best to follow some advices from around this forum. That´s the only help you will get.
    Some people have got their iChat video working again after following some advice. By the way. I´m not one of them... I´ve tried every single tip I read here, but I´m still stuck with text chat only...
    Good luck.

  • IChat video not working - new thread

    I have an iMac with 4.0.8 and a macbook pro with 5.0 on it. Both have the same issue. I am trying to chat with a friend who has an iMac also. We both get the same issue. If I dial her - it rings on her end, she says accept but then I get a message saying no response from her. Same thing happens the other way around. We never had a problem before. We have not changed our firewall settings on the computers or routers. The only change would be any iChat updates that have been downloaded. I checked the preferences (haven't changed them) and they look ok. We don't use iChat often so I can't remember if we have used it after the last update.

    I guess I have several questions.
    1. If I have not changed any firewall settings and it used to work - why do I have to 'fix' anything now?
    2. If the dialer rings on the receiving computer - doesn't that mean iChat isn't blocked?
    We are im'ing fine using iChat - it is the video not working.
    I don't know if there is port forwarding. I don't see anything anywhere that states DoS or SPI.
    I have Qwest dsl with a 2wire router 2701HG-D. The Qwest Firewall setting are the default secure ones and my OS X firewall was set up using info I got from Macworld Magazine. It all works for me and I did not have problems with iChat until today.
