Printer Canon MG2450 not recognized in PC

I've acquired a new Printer Canon MG2450. After ingtalling the driver from CD and/or the official site, I see that the HW is not recognized by the PC.
I've installed/uninstalled the driver several times, I've plugged/unplugged the USB cable. Even I've tried with another USB cable, Reset the PC, etc... but when I perform the "Diagnose" from the driver, the printer is not recognized.
BTY: I've installed the pack3 in windows before, as needed.
Do you have any idea how can I do to fix the problem?
Thanks a lot,
Eli

If you have an external firewire drive attached, disconnect it and try again using Firewire Basic as the capture control protocol.

  • HT2948 Canon HV20 not recognized by Mac Book Pro w/Retina Display

My Canon HV20 is not recognized by my MacBook Pro Retina Display using IMovie.  Mac Customer support referred me to Canon for resolution; however, the the Mac site indicates Final Cut Pro supports the HV20.
I'm willing to purchase Final Cut Pro, but will it work?  Mac customer support indicated if it is not recognized by IMovie, it probably won't be recognized by Final Cut Pro.

You need to be connecting from the camera to the computer via Firewire (iLink), not USB.
There are anecdotal reports of problems with Firewire 4 pin to Firewire 9 pin (FW400 to FW800) cable adaptors. You might try switching cables to see if you get better results -  and it appears that a dedicated cable with a 4 pin connector on one end and a 9 pin connector on the other works best.

  • Duplex Scanning from Canon MX7600 Not Recognized in Acrobat 9 Pro

I am trying to duplex scan in PDF docs with a new Canon MX7600 scanner. The utility that comes with the printer has a complete duplex scan utility which includes PDF docs, but limits the names to around 28 characters which is not enough for our naming conventions. Also, I cannot scan directly to Secure PDF's. Nor can I set it to automatically ask for Meta Tags.
The Acrobat Create PDF Scan only recognizes or offers the standard set which does not include duplex scanning. Canon tells me that the naming length limitation is built into the software design. They suggested that I contact Adobe and so I am.
How do I get Acrobat 9 Pro to duplex scan directly into Acrobat?
Thanks and all the best, Craig.

They sometimes monitor, particularly in the last month or so. However, most of the answers here come from users. In many cases you might find the answers from users to be more useful than from tech support, unless it is an off the wall problem no one has run into or tried. Typically when you scan from Acrobat, there is a settings selection on the window where you select to scan. That may be where you can find what you want. As far as I know, the information in the settings is only what is made available to Acrobat through the product twain driver.
The other suggestion to try to scan into another product, such as a graphics package, might help you get a better feel of what is possible. You might also check the manual if you have not done that already.

  • Canon MX922 Not Recognized as Scanner in Photoshop CS5

I am using Photoshop CS5 on a 64bit Windows 8.1 Machine. My All in one printer/scanner Canon Pixma MX922 is a wireless model and is not showing up as a scanner under Import. I have not had this issue with any canon all in one before

TWAIN scanner drivers are still supported in Photoshop CS5, but the TWAIN support plugin is no longer installed by default.
You need to do the following:
    • Go to the Adobe website. In the Download section, look for Photoshop CS5 updates.
    • Download the "Photoshop CS5 12 Optional plugins" file for your language version of Photoshop.
    • Once the download is complete, double-click the "CS5Optional_PlugInsInstaller.dmg" file.
    • Double-click the file "CS5 Optional Plug-Ins.mxp". The Adobe Extensions Manager will launch and the install process will start.
    • When it is finished, quit the Adobe Extensions manager.
    • Launch Photoshop CS5.
If the scanner driver is still not visible in the Import menu, your scanner driver may not be 64bit compatible. In this case:
    • Right-click on the Photoshop CS5 application icon and select "Get Info".
    • In the information window, check the box that says "Run in 32 bit mode".
This solved the scanner problem for me.

  • Canon MX860 not recognized over IJ Network

    Hi there,
ever since updating to 10.6.1, my MacBook Pro simply won't recognize/find my Canon MX860 printer over wireless any more. It's particularly weird since my MacBook Air has no problems finding the printer - everything (even wireless scanning) works on my MacBook Air. It seems that the update to 10.6.1 broke the installation on the Pro, but not on the Air.
I have read - I guess - every entry in these support forums dealing with the MX860 (wireless) and Snow Leopard, and yes, I have installed the latest drivers from Canon, have rebooted several times, yanked Parallels from my drive (without any effect), have rebooted into Safe Mode, etc. etc. I simply cannot get my MacBook Pro to find the darn printer over Canon's "IJ Network".
Yes, USB works just fine, but I want to use the wireless option. And the fact that every thing works fine with the MacBook Air just drives my up the wall. (And yes, I have tried moving the Printer folders from the Air to the Pro - no luck.)
Any help? I am running out of ideas ...
    jan

I have precisely the same issue with my MX850 not being recognised by my MacBook Pro but successfully recognised by my MacBook Air.
I noticed however that after opening the "print & fax" system preference and then clicking on the "+" button that the console showed this error message (which did not occur on the air):
    20/9/09 11:22:14 AM com.apple.ReportCrash.Root7206 2009-09-20 11:22:14.020 ReportCrash7206:250b Saved crash report for canonijnetwork7230 version ??? (???) to /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/canonijnetwork2009-09-20-112214localhost.crash
So I presume it wont appear because the IJ Network is crashing.
The detailed crash report is (perhaps a more clever person can work out the issue):

  • Canon 60D not recognized by iMac

My early 2013 iMac 27" running Mavericks does not recognize my Canon 60D when plugged in via USB.
I've tried Image Capture, iPhoto, Lightroom. Nothing will recognize it. I've also tried plugging via USB hub and straight into a USB port of the iMac. Even tried different USB cables. No luck.
I also have a late 2008 MBP running Mavericks and it reads my camera just fine when plugged in via USB.
I know I can just use a card reader, but that's not the issue here. Why does my MBP read the camera just fine but iMac doesn't? It was working fine last week and out of nowhere it just stopped working. I'm baffled.

                                                                                                                        2014.06.15
    Some questions and suugestions.
When did it stop functioning ?  If it works on another computer, you at least know that the Canon is OK.
So the Canon works, leaving the iMac as the most likely culprit, but I think you may be looking in the
wrong direction. Go to the Canon web site and see if they have a later driver than what's in your iMac.
I would also send separate emails to Canon and to Apple. I'm sure that both would be interested.
I hope that this may be of some use to you; when any product fails to function, its' usually
driver related. Other than that, take two asperins and call yourself in the morning.    ( lame, but I couldn't resist )

  • Printer setup utility not recognizing printer

I have a G5 powermac with os 10.3.9. I have a HP 5000n printer with an ethernet connection over a LAN. The printer was working fine however It stopped working today. I tried reinstalling the HP drivers but the printer does not come up in the printer setup utility list. So I deleted all old references and tried again but still not showing. As I remenber this original setup was really easy but I can't get it to work now? Any help greatly appreciated

    Printer troubleshooting checklist:
    1. Check that the printer operates by doing a self-test print using the buttons on the printer itself.
    2. Check that the cable is fine. Perhaps swap the cable if another is available.
    3. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility, found in Application/Utilities.
    4. With Printer Setup Utility closed
    Locate the com.apple.print.PrintCenter.plist
found in ~/Library/Preferences and trash it.
    5. Switch off, disconnect and unplug the cable of the printer.
Locate the com.apple.print.HP5000n.plist or similar name
found in ~/Library/Preferences and trash it.
    Reconnect the printer, switch on.
Open Printer Setup Utility, select add printer.

  • Canon HV10 Not Recognized By Final Cut Express HD

Final Cut Express will not initialize my new HV10. iMovie has no problem downloading so I do not believe it is my computer, a Dual 2.3 GHz Power PC. Anyone know if this a problem with the software?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Not only Canon HV10,
my Sony HCR-HC3E also has this problem.
The quality of footage after capture is very poor.
When I use iMovie to capture the footage,
iMovie show that it is using the codec 1080i25.

  • Canon HF100 not recognized by MacBookPro but works fine with MacPro???

I got a Canon HF100, both Mac Pro and MacBookPro running 10.5.5 with iMovie 08. Import works fine on the Mac Pro but the laptop cannot import. It recognizes sees the camera when I attach the USB cable in PC mode. System Profiler sees the camera under " USB"
When I try to import a movie project iMovie08 only brings up iSight. I can't toggle the "camera mode icon" to my camcorder. It stays put at "iSight".
How can two computer running the same program under the same OS not function the same way?
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sometimes this tip can come into play:
*All USB ports are not created equally*
"Many times I have hooked up a USB hub to my MacBook, only to plug in an iPod and have it rest in the a phantom world, neither charging nor showing up in iTunes. This happened whether the hub was powered or not, and even if the port had no other devices plugged in. On this week's MacBreak Weekly podcast, Andy told us why. The rear USB port, the one nearest the screen, is in fact already on an internal hub, shared with everything USB inside the case: the keyboard, the Bluetooth, the trackpad, the iSight camera and the infra-red receiver. Adding a four way hub to this is bound to end in disaster.
So I tested it out. I hooked up a hub to the front port, loaded with two USB hard drives (both self powered), a Logitech wireless laser mouse and an iPod Touch (in its dock). Result? It works perfectly every time. The same setup swapped to the rear port is intermittent. Sometimes the iPod works, sometimes it doesn't."

  • Canon 40D not recognized, won't connect with my Mac Air running Lion 10.7.3

I'm not sure what is wrong. I can't transfer picture or tether my camera to my laptop. When I connect the usb cable, camera says busy for few seconds then returns to normal. I installed latest EOS utility and DPP.

you may be able to see your pictures using the Image Capture (a program which is already installed on Mac, you will find it into Applications)

  • Canon MV830i not recognizing on imac

    Hi there,
I have a canon MV830i DV cam. i have a 4 pin to six pin firewire cord plugged into the imac and turn the cam on to VCR and it doesnt recognize it. does anyone have any ideas of how to do it? ive searched all threw the internet and cant find anything.

Have you tried the Guiness solution yet?
    Shut everything down
    Unplug everything
Go take a walk or get hammered (15min. for the FW port to reset)
Come back and plug everything back in, turn on camera first, then iMac.
Make sure System Profiler sees the camera
Set FCP Device Control preset to DV-NTSC Basic
    Try to log and capture
    Does it work now?

  • I'm having a problem with the new Airport Express I purchased.  My printer (Canon MG5220) is recognized over this new network by my laptop, iPad, and iPhone wirelessly, but several Apple products (Pages, Photos most importantly) can't seem to "see" my Pro

You've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing your complete message into the field intended for the subject.  In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.
Perhaps it was cut off as being too long, but the description of your problem was cut off at "can't seem to 'see' my Pro".  Please clarify what you mean by that.

  • HP1102 Driver failed to load and printer not recognized by Win8.1

    Dear All,
I have very weird problem and for the last 3-4 days I couldn't succeed to find any tangible solution to that which cause me to pull my hairs. I have bought a HP  LaserJet 1102 printer and have new laptop which stubbornly denies the installation of printer  into the printer category, original smart isntaller always fails .  It constantly getting installed as unknown device, but the name in device manager is correct under the unknown devices ( "HP LaserJet P1102").
    I followed the http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=tr&lc=tr&dlc=tr&docname=c03327635 instructions
wihtout sucess, printer is really not recognized by OS Win8.1. Runing the HP Print and Scan Doctor retrieves that printer is connected but the diver is not installed. So what am I supposed to do to solve that problem.
    Your guidance will be appreciated,
    Regards,

    Hi @HP1102_User,
I see that you are having issues setting up the printer on Windows 8. The driver won't load and the printer isn't being recognized properly when running the Smart Install. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Is this printer the Laserjet P1102 or the Laserjet P1102w?  How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. Try another USB port on the computer. You might have to try another USB cable to see if that is causing this issue.
Check the USB port on the Laptop, to see if it is a 2.0 or 3.0 port.
How to determine whether a USB 3.0 device is operating at SuperSpeed?
Try and update the driver from the Device Manager in Solution two: Software troubleshooting.
'Device setup failed to complete' or 'Unknown device' Message Displays in Windows during USB Install...
You can follow this document for either printer model.
Windows 8 steps: Click the Windows Key + X to open the Start Menu. Select Device Manager from the Start Menu. (if you are still having issue go back to the beginning of the document)
Then check the power management settings also in the Device Manager.
Select universal serial bus controllers from the list, for each USB root hub, right click and left click on properties, for power management remove the check mark for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". It allows computer to limit or turn off power for this device.
If you are still having issues, download and try to install the newest drivers for the printer.
Delete the printer from the Device Manager and disconnect the USB cable first.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus Software, to make sure it doesn't interfere with the install.

  • Photosmart all in one 7510 not recognized but connected to wireless

I have a NETGEAR Router, WNDR3800.  It is a dual band router running both a 5GHz and 2.4GHz network.  I have never been able to maintain a working connection to the printer.  After I reload the printer onto the known printers for the Mac, if the printer goes idle I am never able to re-establish the printer for use.
The mac and the printer are both connected to the same 2.4GHz network.
The network has WPA2-PSK [AES] security enabled
The network configuration page shows the network status as ready with Bonjour enabled
The Mac has never been able to pick up the printer wirelessly. I have always had to set it up via USB connection to get the Mac and printer to talk to each other.  The printer will join the wireless network without the Mac, however, if i complete the process that way then the Mac will never see the printer.
Recenty updated to OS X Mavericks. Printer would not work although shows the status above.  Downloaded new drivers for the OS X update.  When running the HP utility to set up the printer, it was not recognized on the network. (reverified both were connected to the same 2.4Ghz network).  Attempted to connect via USB.  When establishing the network configuration for the printer on the HP Utility via the USB cable reveived an error message that stated the following (paraphrased):
Your printer is connected to the network but is not recognized by your Mac check with hp print website help (essentially)
I have reset the router and re-tried the above process. No difference
I have reloaded all the software and restarted the mac and printer. No difference.
I have manual assigned the IP Address for the printer and reserved the address on the router.  Re-attempted to connected wirelessly and via usb. No difference.
I am at a loss as to what I can do next.  Not sure if it a router issue or printer issue but I have no other issues with any equipment on this router both establishing connections to and communicating between several other devices.  I would appreciate any help with this issue.

Hello dan_man182 and welcome the HP Forums!
I understand you're having an issue printing wirelessly. I can provide help for you.
Follow this document please: 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During a Wireless Network Installati...
Another tip I can give you is the security on your router. For some reason the connection may not like the WPA2-PSK [AES] security type. Try changing that to [TKIP] and see if that helps.
Furthermore, if your 5.0Ghz is active, but you are not using it, try disabling the 5.0Ghz frequency altogether. There is a possibility it could interfere somehow.
That is my personal thought on the matter, if you want a full detailed description on router settings you can refer to this: Suggested Router Configurations

  • My Image CLASS MF4350d printer is not recognized by windows 8-64 bit

My Image CLASS MF4350d printer is not recognized by windows 8-64 bit any help how can i fix the problem. I just bought new HP computer from Future shop and it came with Windows in it. but this windows8 doesnt have drivers for my printer Image Class MF 4350d. Now I hve no clue how can i fix this isue. Because I checked on Canon website for drivers and downloaded and run the drivers, but no solution for my printer at all.

Yes. I have the latest version intalled but this hasnt helped.
I thought it could be to do with the Shuffle not having enough of a battery charge.
So i plugged it into the wall charger and then tried this didnt work either.
It wont even play music for some reason. The only information I get in the earpiece when I turn it on is what the battery level is at.
