Printer no longer has scan option

I had my computer worked on today by your technicans in the laser printer department.  My driver for printer was redownloaded.  After an hour of work the printer was resumed and seemed to be working fine.  I have printed things since then and it is still working.  Just now when I went to scan documents to the computer I no longer have a scan option??? When I go to start it has been deleted from the options.  How can this be fixed??? It worked fine before!!  My case # [Moderator edited case number]

What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

    After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my macmail (6.2) no longer has the option to delete messages off the server in preferences / advanced settings.
    I recently had troubles with the mailbox quota being full (ie everything stored on the server) and don't want to go in and manually delete things.
    The research I've done suggests it should be as easy as checking or unchecking a box, however it's not there where it should be .

    Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Mailbox Behaviors. Set the Trash section to move deleted messages to the Trash Mailbox, and then to Store the deleted messages on the Server. Select how often you want deleted messages to be permanently removed from the server.
    Also, if you have stuff in the Trash, and you select some or all of it, and then go to Edit>Delete, it will ask you at that time if you want to delete it from the Server or just the Mac.

    My context menu no longer has some of the options it used to have. I have disabled a number of add-ons to solve the problem, but it didn't work. I don't find options like opening the link in a different window or tab useful. Could you please tell me how I can change my context menu that has options of deleting, renaming, removing, editing a tab or a folder in my email account (Yahoo)?

    Web pages can replace the context menu to their own version and suppress the regular context menu.
    You can set the <b>dom.event.contextmenu.enabled</b> pref to false on the <b>about:config</b> page to prevent web pages from modifying the right-click context menu.

  • P1102w printer no longer has address

    I recently replaced my home network's wireless router, and thought I might need to update settings on my wireless printer.  My printer is connected via USB to my home desktop, which connects wirelessly to our router.  We use the wireless capabilities of the printer to be able to print from laptops throughout the house, via the "peer-to-peer" connection instructions.  A previous Configuration test page for the printer showed the old router as "enabled" and the new router as "not connected."  In trying to change that, I guess I wiped out my printer's addresses.  The printer now has only zeros for iPv4 address, IP Subnet Mask, IP Default Gateway, DHCP/BOOTP servicer, and WINS server.  All of those fields used to have addresses on the old Configuration test print-out.  I've done the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it finds no problems (probably because of the USB connection).  I can't use the HP Embedded Web Server because I don't have an IP address to enter into the browser.  I've downloaded the current driver successfully.  I've powered off and on everything (router, computer, printer).  Any help out there?

    The 0.0.0.0 addresses indicates the printer is no longer connected to any router.
    The easiest way to reconnect the printer is to uninstall it completely from one of the computers on the wireless network and to reinstall it with the network option.  Make sure to leave the USB cable disconnected until prompted to connect it.

  • HP Printer Assistant Software Missing Scan Option on DeskJet 2542

    I have installed the Printer Assistant Software on both an HP Desktop and a Lenovo Laptop.  I have two HP DeskJet 2542 Printers in two different physical loactions that I connect to with the Laptop.  On the Desktop computer the install of the software has a SCAN function Button that launches a SCAN mode where I can scan files to PDF, etc.  That option does not appear on the Laptop.  I have re-installed the software on the Laptop and still cannot get that function.  Why?  Makes no sense that it woud install and show up on the Descktop computer, but not the laptop.  Is it because the Desktop is HP and the laptop is Lenovo?  How can I get the SCAN button and functionality in the Printer Assitant software on the Laptop???

  • Laserjet Pro 200 color M251NW no longer has wireless option in menu and now reports says it is M251N

    I had my M251NW setup and printing wirelessly.  Everything worked great.  I then noticed the wifi light was flashing blue.  I tried to print to it and nothing printed.  I checked the network settings and it said it wasn't connected to my wireless network.  I tried to restart the printer and then when it came back up the wireless section in the menu was missing.  I tried leaving it unplugged for several minutes and still no wireless section in the menu when it starts up.  I printed a network and configuration report and it said it was a M251N  Not a M251NW!  I downloaded the latest firmware to it (20140108).  And still nothing.  I have no way to turn the wireless back on and I believe the printer thinks it is the M251N not the M251NW.  Has anyone seen this before?  How do I correct the problem?  Am I missing something simple?  Please help.

    I would also suggest trying to reflash the firmware via a USB and check if that may cause any difference.
    Turn the pritner of and back on, then temporary connect it to the PC via a USB and follow the FW upgrade by selecting the newly added USB printer queue:

    It sounds like you are not seeing the Sleep Timer setting in the lower right corner of your currently playing Podcast screen, as illustrated here:

    Lightroom 4 no longer has an option (under "photo" heading, to "edit in" my Elements 9

    I may be preaching to the choir but here are some tips on using PSE from within iPhoto:
    Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
    1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
    2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done. 
    3 - however, if you get the navigation window
    that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
    This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
    NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
    I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
    Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

  • PE9 scanning options change after installed new printer

    Operating Windows 7 64bit, Epson Perfection 1650 scanner.   I have PE9, and after I installed a new Epson printer, my scanning options changed, I no longer have the Twain option, and the scanning window that appears is the one that is for the new printer.  I have the option to choose my old Epson 1650 scanner, but it still has the new scanner window, which I don't like, it consistantly scans the entire flatbed even though I only have a small photo on it, and it will not save my settings nor allow me to scan multiple images.  Any suggestions for me.

  • HT4356 I no longer have the option to share and print.  It used to be there but no longer but it is still available with other apps, eg, Pages.  Any solution?

    I have Windows 7 with a HP Photosmart c6180 AiO. I use Microsoft Office 2003 and used to get a scan menu on my printer screen. For some reason, it disappeared and I want to scan documents to a RTF. How do I get my my menu back? I did updates, and reinstalled the drivers and software. I'm lost. Please help!

    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having an issue with the scan option no longer being available on the printers display screen.
    Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
