Printers and communication error messages

I have a Mac Pro w/5 gig memory. I have 3 Epson printers attached a Wacom Tablet and a scanner attached also. The problem is with Epson R1800 and the Epson 7800. The 7800 will tell me Communication error every time I disrupt the computer. For example I turn off the scanner while its printing or pull out a USB drive while its printing and the print will stop printing and is totally ruined! Try that while your running a business and it's printing out a 24x36 and it is an inch from completion! The problem is also with the R1800. Communication error for every and any reason...works better if everything else is shut off but not too much better. It even goes so far as to shut itself off! Communication error and print stoppage constantly...it takes 3 hours to print 60 things. I thought 5 gig of RAM was more than enough to run this stuff. Can someone give me their thoughts?

I would immediately be suspicious of too many high-power-demand devices on either the front USB ports as a group, the rear USB ports as a group, or the keyboard USB ports -- which are useable ONLY for ONE modest-power mouse.
What devices do you have plugged in where?
Any USB-powered Drives?
can any be moved to their own power supply or a powered Hub?
can you run only the troublesome printer with no other USB devices?

Receiving iChat communication error messages for only some buddies

My son is using iChat 4.0.8 and OS 10.5.8. With some buddies he is able to chat (video and audio) without problem. With other buddies, he cannot connect by video or audio and receives a 'communication error' message -- the buddy didn't pick up. However, the buddy receives the same message. However, he CAN aim these buddies through iChat. The problem does not seem to be with these buddies however because friends can video and audio chat with them. Within his group of friends, my son is the only one having this problem, and it applies only to some of his friends. Any suggestions? I did make sure Internet Sharing was turned off but that made no difference. Thanks!

iChat uses port 5190 on the TCP Protocol to do the Login and do most Text Chats.
For AV chats iChat uses port 5678 for the Visible Invite and one from 16393-16402 to do the actual chat (No Matter which Buddy list you use).
Now in iChat 5 (Snow Leopard) the Connection Doctor reveals an extra drop down choice of Network Status.
This in turn reveals that iChat prefers routing devices that use the Full Cone method of doing NAT (Network Address Translation)
Some things that can help.
In iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings change the port to 443
(you/he has to Log out first)
This splits the TCP Login away form the UDP use of port 5190 that is for File Sending, Pics in Chats (Direct IMs) and some Buddy List feedback.
This is because some modems do not seem to like iChat using the port twice (Zyxel modems are particularly bad at this but are not alone)
Use UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) in the router (Or modem if it routes) to open the ports.

Can anyone help me connect my Macbook Air to a SAMSUNG TV. When I follow the basic instructions (Thunderbolt to HDMI connection) the screen on my computer goes grey and an error message appears inviting me to press any button to restart the Macbook. When I do this nothing happens. Only when I disconnect the computer from the TV does the Macbook allow me to login. The TV does not receive any signal from the Macbook even though I know the HDI port works fine. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Do I need to enable something on the Macbook?

An update...
I downloaded Apple's (rather large!) list of software updates today, and I was finally able to recognize my iPod again. I did a restore using the iPod updater from 06-2006, and all seemed to work OK. (I'm afraid to try the new one again!)
Then I tried to re-load my music library from iTunes, and got stuck. It froze up after a while and wouldn't go any further.
When I disconnected my iPod from my computer, I find 2 podcasts and nothing else, though iTunes told me it had transferred 600+ songs. Those 2 podcasts do play fine, and the basic iPod software all seems to be intact.
So -- anyone get through this connection problem and have any ideas to share??

I've not tried it with select options before, but you might wan to have a look at setting the REPORT_ATTRIBUTE_ERROR_MESSAGE method of the message object. This way the message gets attached to any UI element bound to the context attribute you issue the message for. But as I type this and think about it some more; I see where the problem lies. The Select Options component doesn't follow an approach of cross component context binding. It dynamically generates its own context.
If I had a little more time I would test this out; but it might be worth your while to research. When you initialize the Select-Options, you normally get access to the interface controller:
data: l_ref_cmp_usage type ref to if_wd_component_usage.
l_ref_cmp_usage =   wd_this->wd_cpuse_select_options( ).
if l_ref_cmp_usage->has_active_component( ) is initial.
    l_ref_cmp_usage->create_component( ).

This interface controller (LV_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS in my case). Has a GET_API method that returns the component controller. In turn you might be able to access the context of the Select-Options directly. Its a crazy idea, but worth a try.

FM SSF_CLOSE failing and giving error message while printing a smartform

for language spanish the smartform is not getting printed for output type SG11 but for english it is getting printed? What could be the reason? I debugged and found that SSF_CLOSE is failing and giving error message.

for changing from one languages to another translations in SE63 is to be done, either search on SCN for using SE63 , or atleast see these wiki help .

I tried this solution without success. After FixIt ran and didn't find a problem, either in looking for issues with "software upgrade" or "iTunes" it kindly offered to help me uninstall iTunes. I had thought of this as a possibilty but it seems to me that if you do that you lose a lot of "non-native-to-Apple" information you might have entered. I did this once and recovery was painfull. Is there a way to uninstall iTunes without losing all of that sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated.

I have also had the same problem with my Win 7 32 bit computer. I had great help from Apple techs in Montreal and Orlando for 2.5 hours. They helped me remove every trace of Apple products and clean the registry in two different ways. Each install gave the same problem! If Apple techs can't fix it (on some of our machines) then we are really in trouble. They promised to raise it with the "engineers" and get back to me with a solution. I am waiting and hoping. Otherwise maybe version 11.1.5 will have a fix ??

What OS on the computer you are using to setup the TC?
Did you turn on ipv6 for wireless to link-local... this is essential for network access now??
Try power cycling the network.. start up in correct order.. uverse.. 2min wait.. TC.. 2min wait.. computer.
No luck factory reset and start over. Use ethernet cable as well to the computer to help it.

OK Error code - 2125 usually indicates that the movie is to large.
It use to pop up when going to iDVD !
iDVD - DO NOT CARE ABOUT Gbs at all. I got movies on 500Mb that do not fit and 50Gb that fits nicely.
iDVD - ONLY CARES ABOUT - Duration. Duration is Movie time + MENU TIME. Choice of
menu and animation of this can take lost of "DURATION" 15 minutes or even more.
Choice of encoding method and use of SL or DL DVDs determine the DVD limit.
iDVD 08 & 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities.
iDVD 6 has the two last ones
• Professional Quality (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST
• Best Performances (movies + menus less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
• High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
DL DVDs can store about double of these times.
ALTERNATIVE - The Error Code can indicate that free space on Start-up (BOOT) hard disk is
less than 25Gb (my minimum)

If you are getting OSStatus error -2125, I've seen this caused by the computer display sleep settings.
Try changing the sleep settings to never and see if you are able to export.
