Printing photos in IPhoto 9

When picture is selected to print a message says that a theme must be selected. How do I get to the theme selection page.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you're getting a message about themes when you try to print that means iPhoto has lost it's link to the themes. Try the following:
Restoring iPhoto Themes
First look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation process described below:
1 - delete the current application.
2 - delete any receipt files with iPhoto in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder.
3 - delete the Themes folder from your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder. Also look in the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there then delete it also.
4 - mount the system disk that came with your computer, double click on the "Install Bundled Software Only" file and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto.
After installing reinstall the latest iPhoto updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime version.

  • Printing photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 on my printer yeilds garish two color prints. Exporting the photo from iPhoto to desktop then printing from Preview works fine. How can I get good prints from iPhoto?

When printing photos in iPhoto 9.5.1 with my HP inkjet printer the multitude of colors in the photos are reduced to two, Magenta and Yellow. If the photos are exported to my desktop (MacPro) and printed from Preview, the colors in the prints are fine. How do I get iPhoto to print the colors correctly?

    Brad
What settings did you use in the Export Dialogue?
When you go File -> Export you get a tabbed box with various options. In the File Export tab you can choose to scale the pics, or keep them the same size, change or retain the format.

  • I can no longer print photos from iPhoto.

When I try to print photos from iPhoto, I get the error message:  There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable. The solution offered by iPhoto help is ridiculous as it assumes that you can get past the error message and on to the option to choose a theme. No so.  The error message is the end of the road.  This is a new problem for me.  Apparently there was an automatic update and now I am updated to no longer being able to print my own photos. Apparently (according to traffic on Google) this is not a new issue, but I haven't seen a solution.  Can't deny that I am royally ****** off.

when i try to print a photo: select>file>print a box comes up stating ' no available themes'

  • Cannot print photos in IPhoto 09

Snow Leopard. Followed Toad's instructions to reinstall IPhoto, Sorta' messed up now. Cannot print photo from IPhoto Libraray Photos pg. Exported photo from there to "Pictures"; msg shows " Unable to create/User/MMM/:Picture/DSC,,,,.pg". Didn't get an IPhoto icon on dock but found a way. Have an icon on desktop "IPhoto Library" that opens IPhoto but it is also opened when I open IPhoto icon on dock, have done Software Update for latest on HP printer. Am losing much sleep trying to get this figured out. Should I delete all IPhoto again and start over on reinstall from disk "c"?

No answer yet so still messing up not knowing what I'm doing, but do know I have IPhoto so messed up. Have an iPhoto icon on the Dock and iPhoto Library on desktop.
Found 2 iPhoto apps in Trash. Dragged out to desktop (iPhoto 07-27-19 (is this a date?) .app and iPhoto.app.  Don't know what is in them...so what to do now. Do I delete current iPhoto icon from Dock and open one of the ones I just mentioned? If so, how do I do this? Should I clear all iPhoto info and reinstall from Mac Installation disk?
Have Dictionary on Dock which opens dictionary; also have Dictionary.app on desktop which, if I draag into Trash, then Dictionary on Dock no longer opens.
Hoping to hear real soon, cause I am getting so impatiet after several days now of getting more into trouble, to clean this mess up and get on with other things.

  • I'm not able to print photos in iphoto 11

I'm not able to print photos in iphoto 11. This message appears; There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable.

If you purchased it in App Store, open Launchpad, press Option key and select X button above iPhoto. Then, open App Store, select Purchases and download iPhoto. If you purchases it in a disc, open Finder, go to Applications folder and delete iPhoto. Finally, insert the DVD, install iPhoto and open  > Software Update to update iPhoto

  • Having a problem printing photos from Iphoto.  Seems that "themes" are required in order to accomplished the task.  Where are the Themes found?

Where can I find the themes, possibly formats, for printing photos for Iphotos?  Are these still being used or have they been upgraded to another program such as ilife?

You'll need to reinstall iPhoto.  If you MBP came with Lion preinstalled move the iPhoto applicaiton to the Trash bin in the Dock, go to the App Store, go to Purchases, download and reinstall iPhoto.

  • Printing photos in iPhotos

I am trying to print photos (not order) from iPhoto on my personal printer. How do I print them-I'm not finding anything that allows me to do so.

First crop the photos to the size you want to print.  Select the photos and type Command+P (or use the File ➙ Print menu option) to bring up the print window.  There you select the paper size and print size (again).

  • Why do i get lines when i print photos from iphoto

does anyone know why i get lines across my photos when i print them from iphoto to my HP printer. Photos are ok when i print from iphone or other? seems to have something to do with Iphoto??

Go to your imports for the last 12 months then click on view>sort photos by date, that should group them together.  Click on the first picture in the group, then hold down your shift key then click on the last picture it should select all in between, then delete and empty trash.

  • Can't custome size print photos using iPhotos app

can't custome size print photos from iPad using iPhoto app and can't find and download new Photos app to use with iOS 8.1.

I also found this issue  when trying to use the Coupons app; we've validated a problem and are working to correct it.
    Thanks for your patience.

  • Why when I print photos from iphoto are they grainy ? They did not used to be.

When I print from Iphoto they are grainy, they did not previously. In other programs they are fine, so it is not the printer,

What version of iPhoto? What are the pixel dimensions of the photos? what is the size of the print?

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

Can you edit a photo? Does the command "File > Export" work?
If not, make a backup and rebuild your iPhoto Library.
Hold down the options key and the command key at the same time
Double click the if icon to launch iPhoto.
Keep holding down both keys firmly, until the First Aid panel appears.
    Then click "rebuild Library".

  • How do I print photos from iPhoto on my new iPad2?

I can't use Mpix and Shutterfly since they don't support Flash. Is there a way to order straight from iphoto? Or some other site I can use that doesn't use Flash where I can order prints?
    Thanks!

When your iPad is connected, select your iPad under devices in iTunes. There will be a photos tab, and you can either sync everything or choose certain events/albums etc

  • I am scanning printed photos into iPhoto as jpeg files but they are not showing as jpegs and I can't move them to another document - any ideas??

Ultimately, I am using these photos in a document I am writing and for some reason, some of the photos I have scanned in to iPhoto are not showing as jpeg files . . . the file type is blank and when I try to move them, I get a circle with a slash through it indicating NO instead of the green circle with a + indicating that the photo can be moved and dropped elsewhere.  I am using an Epson scanner and am scanning as jpeg images.  I also have an option to scan as a jpeg2000 image but am not sure of the difference in the files so continue to scan as just jpeg.  Does anybody have an idea as to  why these particular files are scanning in as jpegs but apparently there is something not registering correctly.  Could it be that they were scanned without doing an overview scan first?  I know it can't be that simple . . any help would be appreciated.

What scanner format settings dis you use?  Are these color photos? If they are B/W did you scan as grayscale images?  That could be the problem.
Are you able to open them with Preview?  If so do a Save As, select full quality and save as a jpeg with a new file name.  See if that file will import and work as intended.
