Prints fine, but no wireless colour

With my HP Deskjet printer connected by USB to Airport Express I can print OK wirelessly from my laptop, but the pages will only print black and not colour. The printer prints colour pages and text OK when used without Airport, i.e., with a direct USB connection between laptop and printer.
Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?

I'd like to know how you got your N rate to open up to 270? Mine bottoms out at 130, on that screen. I tried mixed and N only on the basic screen. Care to share other screen options? I'm currently playing with it myself atm. Latest firmware, also, 1.01.9 on my wrt150n.
For my systems specs, it's a Toshiba satellite with the Intel 4965agn, latest drivers.

radio type 802.11g ?????? Why is this? My router is set to N only ?

HP says that the drivers for your all in one print/scanner are downloadable from apple. For the scanner to use preview. image capture or the scan icon from the print driver queue. I don't know how old your HP is, but I know that the newer Os from apple don't support a lot of older printers. You might be able find a third party driver that could work.

One Pixel Borders Print Fine But Only Display At Magnification

I've looked around at some other posts on image borders and haven't seen any posts about image borders that print fine but do not predictably display in the PDF. For example, I add one-pixel borders to PNG images I create in SnagIt. I then use FrameMaker (8 and 11) to generate PDFs. When I view the PDFs in Acrobat Standard or Adobe Reader, the various sides of the rectangular border appear differently (some missing, some fat, some thin) until I magnify way over 100 %.
My document reviewers are routinely telling me I've neglected to add the 1 px border to every side if the images, but they are there--just only visible when the document is printed or when it's enlarged on the screen.
Are there any tricks for getting Adobe Acrobat/Reader to display these 1 px borders consistenly on screen? I should mention that this is also the case if I generate PDFs from MadCap Flare.

By all means, blog. But I'm wondering if something along the lines of a petition / open letter format might be more effective in affecting the corporate decision-making process. Those of us affected should discuss and, if possible, get help on who and how to get this addressed. That's why I've asked for advice on who the relevant person is who I should contact. If you've ever worked in a bureaucracy you know that sometimes talking to the right person can save a lot of time and trouble.
BTW, if the Apple moderators are following this thread, I'd be pleased to know what your thoughts are on this issue. This problem seems fairly common, but only among users of the 1.67 iteration of the 17" PB (as far as I know). We are users who invested a lot of money in the best (& most expensive) mobile hardware that Apple had to offer at the time of purchase. We're probably faithful customers who, in time, will spend a lot more money on Apple hardware in the future. Why squander goodwill over a matter like this?
It just seems to make sense that Apple would institute a limited recall to fix this known and obvious fault. It's a good idea for us and for them.

First page prints fine but subsequent pages expand beyond page border

When I print a web page or selection that extends beyond one page, the first page prints fine, but the type size on subsequent pages is expanded so that the content extends beyond the right edge of the page. This never happened before I upgraded to Firefox 8, but now happens every time. My workaround is to print one page at a time -- very cumbersome.
I'm printing to an HP Officejet Pro 8500. I have not changed printer settings since upgrading Firefox.

Same problem here, but it doesn't seem to depend on the printer. Same thing happens when creating pdf files. It has started witha recent upgrade, not sure however whether this hasn't happened already with version 7. Currently I am using Firefox 8.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

HP Officejet on AirPort Express - prints fine but can't scan

I posted this on the HP user forums, but no response. Can my Mac brethren and sistren help?
I put my sister's HP Officejet 6210 All-In-One on an AirPort Express. She can print to it wirelessly just fine from her OS X 10.5 MacBook w/ AirPort card, and her HP printer utility sees the 6210 as a Bonjour printer. But when we launch the HP scan app, it can't see the 6210.
I downloaded and installed the latest HP package before I even started moving the 6210. Any ideas, anyone?

As dechamp correctly said printers connected via USB will not copy, fax or scan over a network. However the OJ 6210 does have the ability to add a HP Jet Direct network card, with that installed you should be able to use the additional functionality. It has been a long time since I've used a Jet Direct card as I recall they were pretty pricy but they worked extremely well. My suggestion is if you must have the additional functionality (scan, fax & copy) from the network to invest in a networkable AIO.
HP makes quite a number of them in all price ranges depending on your needs and wants, they begin about $149.
The other solution is to connect it via USB to your Mac and use Bonjour to connect to the other machines on the network, then turn on print sharing and that might work on the scan,fax & copying.
While what you wanted to do originally didn't work there are a number of solutions available to you.

Prints fine but the second time it prints it's small?

I have an applet that I finally got to print from but now when I load the page it prints the first time perfect but if I refresh the page it prints the correct image but it's half the size. If I close the browser and open it back up same thing, first one is fine and after that they are all small. Any ideas, do I need to clear or restet something with the printer?

EPrint job printed fine but cannot remove it from my print que

I used my computer @ work to print a document to eprint. It printed just fine, but I cannot remove the print job in the que in my laptop (not the computer I used @ work). Because I cannot remove it, I cannot print anything. Help

I have a couple of questions for you. When you sent the document to the printer did you use the ePrint email address? When you refer to que are you logging into your ePrint account and checking your ePrint history? Are you speaking of your print que on your computer?

HP3050A - wireless printing fine but eprint wont connect?

I've got my HP3050A printing wirelessly from my laptop, but eprint wont work, when I go into the eprint menu on the printer its telling me that it can't connect to the internet...?
I've run a network confoguration page which says everything is connected fine, the printer display is showing the wireless facility is connected with a full signal strength.
Am I missing something obvious??
This is a printer I've had for a few months, which was previously working fine both wirelessly and via eprint, right from the initial setup everything connected fine - however, today it lost the connection and I had to set it all up again, which this time took a couple of attempts.
Can anyone help please?

It sounds like you need to set a static IP for your printer. Sometimes when you lose connection it has trouble connecting right back for ePrint. Here are the steps to follow to set a static IP and Google DNS using the printer settings:
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the front of the printer. Take a look at the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to open the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab at the top. then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you should click the radio button for the option that says "Manual IP"
- Then underneath the empty boxes you should see a box that says " Suggest Manual IP" click it
- This should fill in the empty boxes. Now go down to the DNS section.
- Here in the primary or preferred section insert the numbers 8.8.8.8 in the fields
- Then in the secondary section insert the numbers 8.8.4.4 in the fields.
- Go down to the bottom of the screen and click on apply.
Give it a few minutes and then power cycle the printer. When you power the printer back up go ahead and try to connect to web services now.

I was printing to the hp e printer fine, but now the iPad still recognizes the printer ,but nothing prints. I continue to successfully print wirelessly from my computer, but not the iPad. Any ideas?

I have an hp photosmart eprinter and have been successful in the past printing to it, but now it shows on the iPad that it recognizes the printer and is printing, but nothing prints. I can still print wirelessly to this from my home pc. Any ideas?

Sure, double-press the Home button quickly and the multitask menu will appear at the bottom of your screen.

Snow Airport works fine -- but no wireless

I've got an intermittent problem (the best kind, right?) with my Snow ABS: a couple times in the last few weeks, it appears to simply stop putting out a wireless signal. One of my machines is ethernet-wired to it, and so I know that it's working fine in every other way (connecting to my DSL modem via PPPoE, controllable via the Airport Utility, etc.). But there's just zero signal for the network it's supposed to be creating, even when I'm right next to it.
The last time I "fixed" this, I didn't actually do anything: it just came back suddenly, seemingly without intervention. Do I have a slowly-dying ABS?
Or can anyone suggest something I should try? I've rebooted it, making small changes to the network settings to make sure it's writing the configuration OK; I've unplugged it for over an hour. Any other ideas for how I can troubleshoot and diagnose this?

Well, based on the description of your Snow's problems and the steps you have already taken (resets, power-cycling, etc.) it's quite possible that the wireless circuitry is either pending failure or has completely failed. If that's the case, although there may be the option to have it repaired, it'll probably be best to replace it.

PSC 500 - Prints fine, but the scanner is not detected on the 64-bit version of Windows 7

Last week I decided to update my computer to Windows 7 x64 since my computer crashed. (It was pure dumb luck that I backed up my computer the night before.) Anyway, soon after I was done, I tried to install my HP PSC 500 (C6680A) and I was happy that It worked, however I soon realized that it lost it's ability to scan. I am not talking about the scan button that according to HP no longer works; I am talking about actual ability to scan from the computer.
Because my computer is telling me that I do not have a scanner connected and hp scanner drivers are missing from the list in the "Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard" and the printer is already installed, I believe I need a driver in order for my scanner to work.
If someone could post a 64bit driver (*.inf) for xp or vista, I can try to see if it will work it will work. (I don't think a 32bit won't work, but I don't know for sure.)

Go to the printers folder, Add Printer, Local printer, LPT1, then when the selection comes up click on "Windows Update". This will load the updated list of available drivers. Be patient, it can take a few minutes. Once the list is updated you will find the HP PSC 500 listed under HP (not Hewlett-Packard) in the printers list. You can then cancel the isntallation and just plug in the USB cable to have the plug-n-play automatically install.

Looks like you have '''Print Background (color & images)''' enabled on for all three printers you have installed, Adobe PDF included. ''I see those settings in your More system details.'' That's why you are getting the grey (monochrome Laserjet) or blue background, but that should be printed on the first page, too.

PDF file prints fine from Acrobat reader XI, but not Acrobat Standard XI

I have a 2 page document that is set up as tabloid 11x17, meant to be printed duplexed and folded as a 4 pamphlet. The document with the same printer settings prints fine from Adobe Reader XI but from Adobe Standard XI, Page 1 prints fine, but page 2 looks like it is trying to print on the backside of an 81/2x11 instead of 11x17. I have played with the print settings in Standard, and cannot come up with a combination that prints that document correctly, yet it prints fine from Acrobat Reader XI. I did double check for updates on both products and installed them. Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening? If I print page 2 by itself it does print properly, just not when sent duplexed with page 1.

Well, for those following this thread or needing a solution, I found a work-around though I'm still not sure why the initial problem exists.
In Acrobat 9 Pro, once you have the main print dialogue box open, follow the steps below:
1) Click ADVANCED
2) Select PRINT AS IMAGE
3) Set DPI to 300
4) Click OK
5) Make any other typical print setup adjustments as you normally would and finish printing as usual

Hp c3180 all in one prints some thins fine but others print and look like programmer language

Some pages print fine, but others from different job websites print out what looks like Config Sys language. For example: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 FRAMESET//EN"> and this goes on for 1/4 of a page. How do I correct it?

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull the power cord from the printer then from the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power up’ and restore the printer to a known good condition (if it is possible). No user settings are lost with a ‘hard reset’.
This ‘Hard Reset’ is one of the most powerful tools to use when the printer hardware is not functioning properly!
IF NOT RESOLVED, uninstall hp software & reinstall using latest hp software from hp website.

I have a Mac OS 10.6.7 that will not activate the scanner portion of an HP C7280 All in One - prints fine - but won't activate scanner.

I have the same problem with an HP Scanjet 8250 and my Epson Stylus NX400. I have reloaded allegedly updated drivers. I have researched using SANE. Neither scanner wants to work since the OS X10.6 update. I have found very little out there about this problem.
Can anyone help me make these bricks work? Really would like a solution that won't cost me hundreds to replace the equipment. Thanks so much.
