Prob in Smartform in Main Window -- Footer part

Hi,
I have 2 rows with different 2 text in Main window -> Footer part.
I want to always keep tht 2-text together either in first page or in second page.
Currently both r printing in different page if first page do nt have enough space.
But my requirement is both should print on first page or second page.
Please let me know hw to control this ?

You can use the FOLDERs for that.
Create a FOLDER under the Footer.
Set "Page Protection" checkbox ON on the FOLDER.
Put your both line types under the FOLDER
So, your SMARTForms should like this:
> MAIN WINDOW
> HEADER
> MAIN
> FOOTER
    > FOLDER - (with page protection)
      > LINE 1
      > LINE2

Hi Smartform Gurus ...
I'm encountering a problem in Smartform. I'm creating a smartform for QM Module & I have to show the ACCEPTER & REJECTED Lots in that . At the Place of ACCEPTED, I want to show TICK MARK ICON (ICON_CHECKED in the table ICON) & at the place of REJECTED, I want to show CROSS ICON (ICON_INCOMPLETE in the table ICON) ... in SMARTFORM -> MAIN WINDOW -> TABLE ->MAIN AREA.

I am not talking about only these two icons, i.e. CHECKED & UNCHECKED. I am asking generally about how to print any icon in smartform's table, as I want to print some more icons & I don't want to upload graphics first, through SE78 & then shows those as graphics instead of ICONS, because by using this practice, it'll not be used as a general purpose form that can be used with any client/customer.

Smartforms: Creating main windows in different pages

Hi all!
I am using smart forms, I tried to create 2 main windows in 2 different pages. I keep getting the following error: "Two main windows are not allowed." However, I have already seen an example where there are 2 main windows created in 2 different pages. Does anyone know of you how to solve this?

Hi Hajar,
   You cannot have two main windows. But the main window can be associated to as many different pages that you want.
   Check the program where you saw that the code inside the MAIN window is same. They have actually associated the window with the page. This is what termed as page-window.
   Give feedback.

Problem in smartform in main window

Hi All ,
We are puttning a table in main window,The problem is the table in main window is extending according to the number of records in internal table.I want the table in fixed lenth always .Please suggest

1) Do not draw any lines in TABLE.
2) Place a TEMPLATE exactly over the TABLE (same left, top, height and width). Draw line in this TEMPLATE.
3) This TEMPLATE will not have any data. It will just draw line.
Now with this configruation drawing of line will be independent of data in your TABLE. Hope this will work as it worked for me some time back.

In Smartform How to display footer & some secndry window after Main window?

Hi,
My requirement in Smartform is to display footer and and secondary window after the Main window.
also if item goes to 2nd & 3rd Page then also after main window footer and some secondary window should appear.
Do i have to maintain footer and sec. window in Main Window itself
Plz tell me in detail.

Hi Vivek,
In smartform, specific legth is allocated to each window, that you create for a page.
So, if you want to display secondary window on each page, create 1 secondary window with the required length and it will be displayed on each page.
And you have written that you want to display the footer of main window also on all pages. It won't happen when you display your footer in main window. you will have to create a new window for your footer as well. Main window footer will always get displayed at the end of the main window.
e.g. If your main window flows on second page, main window footer will be displayed on second page only.

Data overflow in Smartform Main Window

Dear Experts,
I need your advice in smartform's main window's data overflow problem. I have a smartform to display invoice output through VF02/3. This smartform contains a main window which contains:
- Code lines
- Table
- Table's main body have some 18 columns starting with Product column (Product name + Manufacturer name), division, rates etc.
- Table's footer contains some 18 Rows (Terms & Conditions).
Now my problem is since 1st column of table's main body contains product name + manufacturer's name, data flows to next page. But on 2nd page of Output it will show only one line and rest all page is blank and then on 3rd page onwards data will continue. I don't know why this space is coming between table rows.
For Eg: if internal table contains 20 records, it will show 10 records (whatever number of rows fits in window) and 11th row on 2nd page and then 12th row onwards on 3rd page.
Why this blank is coming on 2nd page. I tried using folder, ie, i put all the lines of table's main body in a folder and used page protection option but still same result.
Please advice any solution.

In old development a command was written which was triggering new page after 9 records.

Smartform : Main window : Want to increase the size of main window

Dear Sir,
In my smartform my Main window is fixed after four windows(2 + 2) but only in first page.
Now my requirement is there in second page i am only showing two windows out of four and in new vaccent space produced by two window i wanted to increase the height of window equal to 2 window in second page onwards.
Please guide.

You just need to change the UPPER and HEIGHT values for the MAIN window on the second and subsequent pages. Presumably, you have a different page definition for these pages? If that's not your question, then please re-phrase it.

Need to print horizontal line at the end of main window in each page.

I am printing a smartform with main window having 10 lines in footer. The problem I am facing is when the content extends upto two or more pages, I am not getting the horizontal line at the base of main window. For last page it is fine as it contains footer.
Please suggest how to proceed.

Hi,
If you don't have any frame set on your main window:
Go to output options and mark frames, and then go to details and uncheck checkboxes for above, laft and right, leving only below marked.
This will give you a line in the bottom of you main window.
If you dont' want to do this on the main window, can you create a new window placed at the bottom of the page and use this framing technic on that window. But in that case don't forget to mark the "always draw box and shading" checkbox. as this window contains no values, the will not get printed unless you mark this checkbox.

Footer of the Table in Main Window in Smartforms

Hi,
I have a smartform. In that I have declared a main window. And I want the Footer to appear on each page. So, I have checked both the check boxes in the Footer Event of the Table in Main Window.
1. At page Break
2. At end of table.
But it is comming only on the first and last page.
If I check only 1, it is printing on the first page only.
If I check only 2. it is printing on the last page only.
I want it to be printed on all the pages.
Help needed.

Instead of using the Main window for footer
Why can't you declare a separate constant window separately apart from MAIN window and use for the footer to print in all pages.
create another window and write all your data in that and see
Since MAIN window overflows as the data grows constantly it is coming only on the first and last pages.
So to appear that on each page a fresh window is useful

Smartform Main window and Footer Overlap Issue

Hi,
I have a problem in printing my invoice smartform.
I have to print the footer at the bottom of the main window. If the line items flow to the next page the footer should be printed only on the last page.
I have overlapped the main window and footer windows in first and next page so that the footer window space in the main window is not left empty when there are more than one pages
The problem is sometimes the main window is overlapping into the footer window space.
Can someone suggest a solution for this.

Hi,
Solution: The issue faced after overlapping the main window with footer window can be achieved by creating a folder within the main window and using the events to check whether there is enough space to print the footer.
Following are the steps.
Step 1: Create a Secondary window say “Footer” which would be the footer window. Overlap the main window on the footer window as shown below.
The footer window will be behind the main window
Step 2: Create a folder within the main window say “Check_Footer”.
Go to Tab “Events”, select the checkbox “Footer with Height” and give the required height of the footer. Select the checkbox “at End of Table”. Specify the “Minimum height” as required.
Now, go to “Conditions” tab and select the checkbox “Only before end of main window”.
This is basically done to check whether there is enough space to print the footer on that page. The Footer window would then print the output.
Step 3: Go to the created “Footer” window .Under the Conditions tab, select the checkbox “Only after end of main window”. Create a text/tamplate/window whatever you want to display at bottom or footer data.
Step 4: Save & Activate the Smartform and check the output.

Command issue in smartform main window table footer

Hello Experts ,
I got an issue , that really puzzled me ! hope you could help .
In my smart form main window I have a loop node inside loop node is a table , and there is a footer in this table node.
in footer event , I only set check box 'at page Break' , and in footer , I created a command to goto another page, but when I preview the layout , there comes an error : 'Page break is allowed only in the main window' . I didn't create any command outside the mainwindow.
anyone know how this happened ? how should I correct it ?
or you can tell me antother method to goto a new page when page break .

Hi,
The problem may due to not Selecting at the "End of Table" in the footer node.
My Assumption: According to my understanding since you have selected with at "Page break" only, this night be triggering at every page break and since you have mentioned Goto Next page using command node without printing on the current page.
You can try by selecting the "At the End of Table" for Footer node, then it should work correctly.
If you want a Page break after the Footer, then place it after Footer Node, then it should work.

Smartform - Main window

Hello,
I need to create a smartform with the following behaviour:
When the page shown is the last one, the main window has to take half page. On the other hand, when the page shown is not the last one, its main window has to take almost the whole page (I need a bigger main window).
When only exists one page, the first page is also the last one.

Its Possible, as I feel.
Just need to design 2 pages.
PAGE1: Keep the header and item part as you want to.
PAGE2: copy the MAIN WINDOW of PAGE1 to PAGE2.
             Increase the size of the MAIN WINDOW in page2 .This is the flexibility that smartform gives and
             we don't get this main window resizing facility in SAPscript it remain same in first and second
             page.
Navigate to : loop->table->footer.
Create folder and under folder create window to display your footer details.
And please unckeck the check box "On page break" in the footer condition tab.
Hope the discussion was helpful. Revert back in case of any further issues.

Page break for Smartform with multiple main window on pages

I have a requirement for printing 3 pages. The difference among the 3 pages is the main window part.
The main window contains not only internal table, also complicated texts like payment instructions etc.
The requirement is in each page, the data in internal table should be changed, also payment instruction should be changed accordingly.
e.g:
Main Window of Page 1
Part 1 for Internal table
VAT on ITEM ------- 4O-------60,00------0.00%-------EUR
Part 2 for Payment Instructions
Texts for Page 1
Main Window of Page 2
Part 1 for Internal table
VAT on ITEM ------- 5O-------60,00------0.00%-------EUR
Part 2 for Payment Instructions

At first, I was using only one page 'Page1' with a variable page_no = 1 as default value, and use program line page_no = page_no + 1 as counter. when page_no = 2, use command for force page break to 'Page1', then under the command, change the internal table and payment instruction texts. when page_no = 3, ...
But I encountered an error saying:
Runtime Errors GEN_BRANCHOFFSET_LIMIT_REACHED
Short text
Jump distance is too large and cannot be generated.
So I created 3 pages, with different main window M_window1, M_window2, M_window3 for each page. In page1, after printing the M_window1, page_no = 2, use command to go to page2, but page2 is never printed. I think this is because only one main window can exist in a smartform? but why smartform allows creating individual main window for different pages? what's the use of such main window?
By the way, what's the use of command for force page break? only work for one main window in a smartform?
Getting back to my requirement, I think I should still use one page and command for page break. I am trying to solve this.

Now I am using 3 pages: Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
Page 2, Page 3 are copies of Page 1 with main window renamed as second window: mw 2, mw 3.
I also created 2 command nodes in main window of page 1: cmd 2, cmd 3.
cmd 2 is for page break to Page 2, cmd 3 is for page break to Page 3.
The second window mw 2, mw 3 in Page 2, Page 3 can be displayed.
Even though, I still can't understand how main window of pages (not 1st page) can work.

How to print horizantal lines in smartforms main window table

hi ABAP gurus,
i am faceing the problem in smartforms main window, i created the table, in that header, main area, footer is coming and i am created the line type in that five culamns, i am specifing the header and main area data, after the printing the header information, in main area 5 record or more than 5 records,each record after one harizantel line, it will be print a table maner i.e 5 culamns and more than 5 rows in a table.

Click on Select pattern icon>Display framed Pattern>Select the Second one (1 row 2nd column)

Problem in printing multiple main window in smartforms

Hi Experts,
I have requirement form client to print PO which consists of 4 page.
First page is cosists of header and some text.
In second page different header and line item.
Thirs page different header and line item.
4th page different header and line item.
I have printed tex in main window of first page and called command to trigger
second page main window, but i am getting dump.
How to print the line item in the multiple page of smartforms.

Hello ,
To print the text below are following steps which you can follow for your requirement :
1. Create the Four pages having the Main Window, but take care that Logic should be in First Page Main window only , other pages main window will be blank.
2. Create the Secondary Window in second, third & fourth page which will be same size as the main window having the text which need to be print in respective pages.
3. Logic Part - in the main window of first page fill all the data which you need to print in 1st to 4th page in different internal table. Now for example you need to print text in first page then in Main window create table having the data of 1st page.
To print data in Second page create one more table having data of secondpage and put the Command there (follow the same for next pages,)
