Problem: add a picture to a header in Pages 5.2

Hello!
Does anyone know how to add a picrure to header in Pages 5.2?
It was easy do do it in previous Pages 4.2 - just Paste and Edit:
Now it pastes only picture's name:
Apple Support says that Pages 4.2 doesn't work on Maverics so I can't work in previous version (it worked before I reinstall OS because of my iMac starts to work very slowly).
And I see I can't edit pictures in Tables in Pages 5.2 as I could in 4.2(((
CAN ANYONE HELP?

Apple Support is very, very badly informed, is Apple getting them on minimum wages?
All the previous versions of Pages work fine in Mavericks.

You should have your previous version in your Applications/iWork folder.

  • How to add an image in the header? Pages 5.0

    I don't believe I have to use Microsoft Word! I can't, no way, add an image in the header. This is unbelievable!
    **** time I updated to Mavericks!
    Please, does anyone know the solution?
    I'm losing a great deal in my company.

    Do you still have Pages 4.3 installed. If so, use that.

    Upgrade to either Pages 5.5.2 (requires Yosemite), or Pages '09 (runs on all versions of OS X since 10.4.11) which has this plus 100+ more features missing in Pages 5.x.
    Otherwise use Master Objects.

    Hi Peter,
    I thought the OP could upgrade to Pages 5.5.2
    If not, it is rather like someone complaining that Numbers 3.0 can't do what Numbers 3.5.2 can do.

  • Why can I no longer insert a picture in a header in the newest Pages?

    Since updating pages I can no longer add a picture into a header. It doesn't matter if it's inline or floating. Cutting and pasting won't work either. It's been very tough not to throw my laptop out the window. I know this program pretty well at this point (at least before the update), and I'm completely out of ideas. If someone can help me figure this ridiculousness out I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Yep.
    Simple answer: Go back to Pages '09 which is still in your Applications/iWork folder.
    You don't have to do everything just because Apple says it is a great idea, when often it is not.
    If you're NOT happy, and want to show it, clap your hands
    If you're NOT happy, and want to show it, clap your hands
    …then go to the App Store and review/rate Pages 5.

  • Major iTunes trouble. Cannot import CD's or add album pictures

    Several days ago I ran into a difficult problem with iTunes, which I have been unable to fix.
    It has become impossible to import CD's. The files start to import, and sometimes even complete, but the results are garbled. Sometimes it's a minor issue (i.e., popping) but most of the time the MP3's wind up much shorter than the original song, but not in any consistent way. For example, on one track I will have the last 2 minutes of a 3 minute song, yet another track on the same album is missing the final 15 seconds. Really random.
    Also, I can no longer add album pictures to any song in iTunes. If I drag a picture onto the "selected song" preview, it displays the new artwork, but it's not actually saved, or it gets saved in a garbled fashion.
    This is all very frustrating. If it is a virus or spyware, it's something unique to iTunes as neither Norton Antivirus nor Spysweeper find anything on my harddrives.
    I have already tried deleting iTunes and reinstalling. That didn't accomplish anything, although it's possible there are some corrupted registry items which I didn't find.
    Any suggestions?

    Apple hasn't replied, but I believe I have found the answer. If I disable Norton Antivirus's "autoprotect" feature, iTunes works perfectly. If I turn it back on, I get all of the symptons described above.
    Whether this is a bug in Norton or iTunes remains to be seen, but one of them is badly misbehaving.

  • Can not add a picture to the JFrame from an ActionListener class

    As topic says, I can not add a picture to the JFrame from an ActionListener class which is a class inside the JFrame class.
    I have a Map.java class where I load an image with ImageIcon chosen with JFileChooser.
    I my window class (main class), I have following:
    class OpenImage_Listener implements ActionListener
         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
              int ans = open.showOpenDialog(MainProgram.this);     // "open" is the JFileChooser reference
              if(ans == open.APPROVE_OPTION)
                   File file = open.getSelectedFile();
                   MainProgram.this.add(new Map(file.getName()), BorderLayout.CENTER);     // this line does not work - it does not add the choosen picture on the window,
                            //but if I add the picture outside this listener class and inside the MainProgram constructor, the picture apperas, but then I cannot use the JFileChooser.
                            showMessageDialog(MainProgram.this, fil.getName() ,"It works", INFORMATION_MESSAGE);  // this popup works, and thereby the ActionListener also works.
    }So why cant I add a picture to the window from the above listener class?

    The SSCCE:
    Ok, I think I solved it with the picture, but now I cannot add new components after adding the picture.
    Look at the comment in the actionlistener class:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Test extends JFrame{
         JButton b = new JButton("Open");
         JFileChooser jfc = new JFileChooser(System.getProperty("user.dir"));
         Picture pane;
         Test(){
              super("Main Program");
              setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              JPanel north = new JPanel();
              add(north, BorderLayout.NORTH);
              north.add(b);
              b.addActionListener(new Listener());
              setVisible(true);
              setSize(500,500);
              pane = new Picture("");
              add(pane, BorderLayout.CENTER);
         class Listener implements ActionListener {
              public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
                   int ans = jfc.showOpenDialog(Test.this);
                   if(ans == jfc.APPROVE_OPTION)
                        File file = jfc.getSelectedFile();
                        Test.this.add(new Picture(file.getName()), BorderLayout.CENTER);
                        pane.add(new JButton("NEW BUTTON")); // Why does this button not appear on the window???
                        pane.repaint();
                        pane.revalidate();
         public static void main(String[] args)
              Test t = new Test();
    class Picture extends JPanel
         Image pic;
         String filename;
         Picture(String filename)
              setLayout(null);
              this.filename = filename;
              pic = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(filename);
            protected void paintComponent(Graphics g)
                super.paintComponent(g);
                g.drawImage(pic,0,0,getWidth(),getHeight(),this);

  • I upload all of my photos from my iphone 5 onto my macbook air to get more space on my phone, and now whenver i try to upload it says there is no more storage or there was a problem transferring a picture. what can I do to get more space onto my iphoto?

    i upload all of my photos from my iphone 5 onto my macbook air to get more space on my phone, and now whenver i try to upload it says there is no more storage or there was a problem transferring a picture. what can I do to get more space onto my iphoto? I've tried putting the pictures on flashdrives, but iphoto would no tlet me transfer.

    I don't know how large the SSD (solid state hard drive) is, or how big your iPhone 5 is, but with some iPhones having 64GB and some Airs having as little as 64GB and some having as much as 512GB it's not hard to see how storing the contents of your iPhone 5 on your Macbook Air could run you out of space.
    Go to the Macbook Air and bring up a finder window and pull the Go menu down and go to the Computer. Right click on the Macintosh HD and select get info. See if there is any available space on the MacBook Air. If not you are out of SSD space (you're storing more on your Macbook Air than it has storage for). I'm not sure if iTunes can store its library on an external hard drive or quite how you would make that happen. But even if you managed that, when the hard drive was disconnected, you would lose access to your library. Using a smart media card might be possible (I don't know) but it would probably be irritatingly slow. If you have a small Air and a big iPhone you might just have to find a different computer to sync to. Just remember a 64GB iPhone is a big chunk of SSD for a Macbook Air. I did it with my previous and my current Air but even my previous one had 256GB and I really just fit.

  • How can I add a picture to my book once it's layed out?

    I spent a couple of hours creating a book and then realized that I didn't have a key picture in my event folder.
    Is there a way to add a picture to the book once it has already been created? Or do I have to add the picture
    to the folder and start all over again? I am using iPhoto 08.

    Drag them from an event or an album to the book project and place them where you want in the book

    Install NTFS 3G
    http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/
    If you were going to be reading and writing to a NTFS System Partition, you might have to worry about the instability messing up the operating system.  However, you are reading/writing from a non system, backup device so you don't have to worry about screwing up an operating system.
    I would still temporarily move my data to another device and reformat the drive for Mac OS X Extended.
