Problem associated with Novell Filesystem?

Hi,
We are currently upgrading a financial software in our organization and this software is running from a Novell share for the ressources files. Since this upgrade it takes about 3-4 mins before the program starts. The representative from this compagny says that it is due to Novell Filesystem...
We validated this theory by doing the share on a Windows server (SAMBA) and we had no problem with it.
The current patch is that we have to copy localy two ressources files on every computers that use this software.
Theses files are .obj files that are actually zip files with no compression that contains each about 85000 files +
We tried a few settings with the Novell Client... like file caching and other caching settings... but had no luck with it...
So is there really a problem with the novell filesystem ?
Can we change any settings to fix this in remote manager or imanager ?

Clearly there are some applications I need to remove and no doubt my HD could do with a 'spring clean'. My Mac 'Safe Booted' when I turned it on this morning.
I use many different softwares, some web-based. The decision to upgrade to OSX Yosemite is because I was unable to attend a Webinar this week using GoToMeeting downloadable software. GoToMeeting have upgraded their system and my OS is no longer supported. Other websites like VImeo no longer support my version of Safari. I tend to use Chrome if Safari isn't compatible.
Problem description:

However I have noticed that my MacBook Pro becoming ‘slow’ over the last 3 weeks and therefore might have some issues that need to be resolved before I even consider installing OSX Yosemite. I've been using it on all of my computer without any problems. Remember you won't see any positive comments here. Everyone here is complaining about a problem. If you want a good experience with any upgrade or update first make a backup from which you can boot the computer. If you are installing an update, like 10.10.3 for example, always download and install the Combo Updater - OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update. Before you install any update or upgrade over an existing system you should do this:Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

I am not able to pass a file path as command line argument in java.
Actually i want to run a java program from the command prompt passing a file path . Something like this i tried to do , but its not working.
D:\VISHAL\src> java CopyFile C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\link.txt
where ,
CopyFile is the name of my class which i am going to run
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\link.txt is the argument.
Can anyone tell me whether a java program accepts an argument like this, if yes please tell me the exact syntax..

What???? This is a non-solution to a non-problem. First of all, you would be constructing a filename without spaces, when the real path contains spaces. Secondly, even if you did insert spaces it would not matter. What if the String (and it does not have to be a filename) contained tabs rather than spaces. The real (and really only) solution to the problem is to put quotes around the argument, for the exact reason stated in my last post.

A two button mouse is superior, because a lot of actions require a left click. <-- OH That is why they say it is not compatible!
It is compatible, you just need to left click sometimes!

Have hardware problems associated with the new 27 inch iMac been addressed?

I realize that this question may have been answered on another iMac post, but my wife and I thought we would quickly post the following question just in case there are some similarly quick answers:
We are thinking about acquiring one of the new 27 inch i7 iMacs. However, several initial problems have been reported with the new 27 inch iMac, e.g. screen problems, startup problems, etc.
According to Macworld (about 2-3 months ago), Apple finally acknowledged these hardware problems.
How do we know that acquiring one of the new 27 inch iMacs is a safe bet now…? Meaning, have these problems been addressed…? Has there been another announcement from Apple saying that these manufacturing processes/problems have been satisfactorily addressed…?

Mail: "connection failed", problem associated with software update

When I attempt to get mail, I frequently get a symbol on the side panel of an encircled triangle enclosing an exclamation point. If I click on the symbol, I get a message that says (condensed): “connection failed, check settings for your POP account, server error encountered, connection timed out on port 0, do you want to stay offline or go online.” If I click go online, the usual spinning circle appears and then sometimes I get my mail. Sometimes I have to repeat the process several times before I get mail. I am, of course, always online; the connection has never failed. This problem started some time ago after I updated Apple software. I called my ISP and they made a few changes in my mail preferences, but that didn't help. I used disc utility to repair disc permissions and that helped but (strangely enough) only for a few days. This problem was discussed several years ago in message #1724339 but nobody could solve it. check out the "Nokia 808 Belle FP1 bug: WLAN works, but not all ap..." thread. Looks like you are having the same issue, and there's quite some info on this issue in that thread. The issue must be related to Symbian Belle somehow, since Anna and S60v5 are reported to perform well under the same conditions.

If you're on a Unicode system, have you tried using Unicode code point 2082 (see [here|http://unicode.org/charts/normalization/chart_OtherNumber.html] for a list of relevant code points or [here|http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/2082/index.htm] for a more specific reference)?

I.e. take the code statement above, copy it and paste it into your coding in the ABAP editor. Most likely you will not see the subscript in the ABAP Editor (instead just a rectangle), but check out if the output looks good when you run it... (worked fine for me). Basically the ABAP editor doesn't show it for me, because the font that I'm using in the Editor doesn't contain this character.
Only issue for me is that the output statement automatically picks another font for display, so the text looks a bit odd along with the surrounding text. However, depending on your requirements and your actual output this might not matter and actually look fine.

Power Manager features and other problems associated with the T510

For the better part of 5 years I've been a happy user of a IBM Z60m and decided it was time to pass my z60 off to my son and buy a new T510. Well I after several weeks of ownership I can honestly say I'm irritated and frustrated by several ongoing issues and am ready to send the whole unit back.
From the time I pulled it out of the box I'm been having power management issues. I've been on Microsoft's help forums, called lenovo support, and spent countless hours on blogs and forums looking for assistance. No matter what I do in the lenovo power setting arrangements my computer aways goes in stanby after a minute of nonuse and then asks me for my windows password. So after an entire day of inserting my password my frustration level is off the chart. I removed the password in the user settings that didn't help. I changed the global settings to turn off password in stanby mode that didn't help. I've changed the power choice feature to optimize and others but none of that helped.
Beyond those problems... I inserting two different disks to insert new programs and my system kept telling me it couldn't read either. I first thought they were scratch but my old ibm laptop read each without a problem.

Are you sure the system is going into standby after 1 minute? Or is the screen being locked?
Try this:
1. right-click on desktop and choose "personalize"
2. click on "screen saver" in the lower right corner
3. uncheck the box that says "On resume, display logon screen"
Does that fix your issue?

Recent problems occurring with new iPod Nanos as well?

Are the recent problems associated with the iPod firmware version 1.2 occurring with brand new Nanos, or are they only occurring with Nanos that were running previous versions that have been updated to the new version? I've been considering buying a Nano, but may reconsider if the problems are happening with new ones as well.

I bought a 2GB iPod nano over the weekend. It works great, as long as I don't try to put more than 215 songs on it. iTunes crashes and freezes my iPod every time I try to fill it up more than half way. Every crash requires a hard shut down on my mac and restoration of the iPod.

A have new problem that has appeared in my Mac Mail. When I type a frequently used email into the 'To: line' it populates the correct name but with 8 different email addresses not associated with that name.

Problem associating 7920 phone with AP 1100

I have setup AP 1100 in the nw. data connectivity are working fine. Laptops are getting associated with AP. but when i m trying to associate the Wirelss phone 7920 its not getting associated. It gets authenticated.It shows association in progress. On AP it shows ip address 0.0.0.0 and it restart the whole process again. i couldn't manage to figure out the problem. Kindly help me on the same.

Hi,
If the phone is not associating to the AP you need to verify that the configuration on the phone (check under "Network config" tab) is the same than in the AP.
Verify
-SSID is set to "specify" and the SSID1 value is the same that what is configured on the AP for that vlan.
-The "Authentication" selected is the same than in the AP. If it's LEAP verify as well the username/pwd configured. If it's Shared key, doublecheck the Web key under Encryption parameter (it's easy to mistype numbers from 1-3 as they are on same key than A-F).
If those two are properly configured you will see under "site survey"a list of AP matching SSID and authentication method.
Make sure as well that non supported features are unchecked on the AP for the vlan where your phones reside(TKIP/MIC,PMIP)

Computer names persistently associated with a MAC address causing problems

Our WDS server will assign out a computer name like CompanyName### This is great.
The problem is sometimes WDS will assign a computer name that is getting associated with the MAC address somehow--I assume this is what's happening--and kick a computer off the domain that now has that computer name.
Is there some way I can disable the association of computer names with MAC addresses, or persistent computer names?
