Problem Broadcasting via Data Change in Process Chain

Hi, When I execute a Data Dhange in my Process Chain, my broadcasts are sitting in the transaction SOST Queue with a waiting status. If I Broadcast manually the reports are sent successfully.
Can anyone guess why my broadcasts sit in the queue with a "Waiting" status when I broadcast from a Process Chain via Data Change Event?

Usually we trigger an event in SM64 tcode..if u want to create an event u will go for SM62.
In addition to time- and calendar-based job scheduling, the background processing system supports event-driven scheduling.
Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a particular condition has been met. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for that event.
Events are not saved. Once an event occurs and triggers any jobs that were waiting for that event, the event is discarded
U can monitor process chain via Tcode 'CCMS'..
Information broadcasting allows you to make objects with Business Intelligence content available to a wide spectrum of users, according to your own requirements.

E-mail delay using "Event Data Change" in process chain

Hi Experts.
I can´t figure out why my process chain is taking so long to deliver a simple e-mail.
The BEx Broadcast Configuration is working fine. When I run it manually, the e-mail comes instantly. But when I use process chain (Event Data Change), it takes hours to receive the e-mail. The option to run after the infoprovider data change is set for this configuration.
Is there any additional configuration I have to check?

Event data change is process chain

Hi guys,
i got a problem with my Event data change in my process chain which gives me the error
"Background management: timeout or termination of job BCAST486IO7Q8PXOXKE9OV9HOSCGTO"
when you check in the background it says the job is finsihed
can any one help me out on this how is fix this

Broadcaster event data change process step in process chain goes on HOLD

Hi,
We have a process step of event data change in process chain for a cube. the broadcaster has some settings built on this to send email whenever data updates happent to that cube.
It was working fine till last week; suddenly the process started going on sleep or hold mode. i ahve tried deleting old process variant and added new one ...still the job hangs.
Also in SOST i can see that the email based on broadcaster setting were sent. Though users havent recieved any. the job logs in SM37 say:

So the users should have recieved the email . we have separately tested sending out emails and it works fine. just that process in process chain doesnt get completed at all.
the slg1 logs are all successful.
any pointers what could be wrong ?

Use process the INTERRUPT if the last precalculation and alert messaging are succesful. Guess it is looping with first precalucatation

Error in the Source system while data loding through Process Chain

Hi,
I am facing issue while data loading for certain extractors through Process chain. Load of 0BPM_WIHEAD, 0BP_LOGHIST, OBPM_OBJREL, 0BPM_DEADLINES(there are 2-3 more extractors) is getting failed daily with message Error occurred in the source system and if we repeat the same it is getting executed successfully.

Hi..
It means that the extraction job is failing in the source system..
Please check the Job log in the source system --> Copy the request nimber --> In the source system go to SM37 --> Give * then the request number......execute --> Check the Job log..
Look there may be multiple reasons behind this....
1) Connection problem : Go to SM59 and test the connection, If you don't have the access in SM59...then go to RSA1 --> Source Systems --> Right click --> Connection Parameters --> Connection Test
2) Or may be work processes are not available and due to which jobs are failing due to time out...
In both the cases you can check with the Basis Team if they can suggest something....or you can change the process chain scheduling time if possible, and schedule it in such a time when less no of jobs are running..

Broadcasting when data change

hi,
I have added the Process Trigger Event Data Change (for Broadcaster) in the process chain. In the broadcast settings I have given the authorizer as ALEMASTER.
I have scheduled the process chain with the help of an event and the process is getting failed with an error mesage (Alemaster does not have authorization to execute the broadcast setting)
I have changed the authorizer to my ID in the broadcast setting and executed the process chain and i am getting an error message SDAPIYK01_BROADCAST_01: User Z57324 cannot be used for background processing.
I have checked the authorization objects S-RS_ADMWB and S_RS_BCS and they are assigned to me with all the access and not for ALEMASTER.
I am not sure how to schedule it in the process chain.
Please help me in this regard.

You would need the following authorizations.
Authorization object - S_RS_BCS
Field name - RS_EVTYPE
Value - DC(Execution with data change in infoprovider).
Activity - *(Full authorization).
Authorization object - S_RS_ADMWB
Filed name - RSADMWBOBJ
Value - BR_SETTING
Activity - *.
If you are sending mails to recipients through broadcast settings, you need authorization
Authorization object - S_OC_SEND
Filed - COMM_MODE
Value - INT.
Lastly,S_BTCH_NAM u2013 User specific processing. Allows a user to specify other users for runtime authorization for a job. However, i think you are missing only the first one.

Change on process chain not visible in display mode after transport

All,
We have changed a process chain where message notification was active in development.
We have deleted the notification and created a transport. This has been released and implemented into the QA system without a problem.
When displaying the new process chain in QA the change was not visible. But in change mode it is.
Can anyone tell us what might be a cause/solution for this? Also for future changes.

hi,
Try activating the PC again in the QA.
if still it does reflect the message notification, then try creating the request again
in DEV and transport.
make sure you r out of the Process chains in DEV nad QA when transport happens.

Error while Transporting changes in Process chain

Hi All,
I have added a Hierarchy InfoPackage in Process chain and added this InfoObject in Save hierarchy and Attribute change Run Process types.
My transport Request is showing only three entries each for
save hierarchy , attribute change run and one for Process Chain.
Now when I transport this changes to Process chain to Acceptance its showing Error message in Acceptance as

Hi Pratap,
       The infopackage has not yet been assigned to a package in all probabilty. Change the package and then transport the IP and then transpost the process chain request.

Event Data Change triggering process hangs in the process chain

Hi,
In a daily running process chain we have an event data change trigger for broadcast setting which goes to long running status very often and ultimately we have to cancel the job in precalcserver and manually execute the reports based on it. This step fails very often and rarely it gets executed in the chain with a green status. I want to know the reason for the failure and the solution for permanent fix.
On digging through the respective logs thru SLG1 I found the following error messages for the same. Please find it below if it can help u in analysis

it's related to precal server, I guess it failed due to lack of memory or setting issue.
Please do following
1 Clear all precal server pendings
2 After this, restart the server.
3 Execute again.

Deleting master data in a process chain via ABAP "RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND" ?

I need to delete master data attributes in a process chain.
Since there seems to be no predefined process type for this, I looked for an existing ABAP in the dictionary and found the ABAP report "RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND". I plan to call this ABAP in an ABAP-process-step in my process chain.
Unfortunately, I'm not shure how to set the input parameters:
report rsdmd_del_background .
type-pools: rsd, rrsi, rsenq.
parameters: p_iobjnm like rsdiobj-iobjnm obligatory,
            p_chabnm type rsd_s_cha_bas-chabasnm obligatory,
            p_delsid type rs_bool default 'X',
            p_deltxt type rs_bool,
            p_obj    like balhdri-object,
            p_sub    like balhdri-subobject,
            p_ext    like balhdri-extnumber,
            p_noprot type rs_bool.
Can anybody help me, with the settings needed or point out another way to achieve the deletion of master data attributes in a process chain?

Hi Frank,
as I already suggested in a previous thread, try to look at the FM 'RSDMD_DEL_MASTER_DATA'(in the pgm LRSDMDU12)...but pay attention to the other elements that the system certainly checks in order to complete this type of process !

Information Broadcasting - Event data changes

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to trigger a broadcast settings, What i am trying to acheive is as soon as any data changes in data target, trigger a report to portal folder.
Report is published to portal only when there is no data in data target, i.e. contents of data target are empty and any data that is loaded as first request.
Any data loads after first request, Am i missing some configuration steps.

Problem writing meta data changes in xmp in spite of enabled settings

Dear Adobe Community
After struggling with this for two full days and one night, you are my last hope before I give up and migrate to Aperture instead.
I am having problems with Lightroom 5 writing meta data changes into xmp and including development settings in JPEG, inspite of having ticked all three boxed in catalog settings.
In spite of having checked all boxes, Lightroom refused to actually perform the actions. I allowed the save action to take a lot longer than the saving indicator showed was needed, but regardless of this no edits made in the photo would be visible outside Lightroom. I also tried unticking and ticking and restarting my compute.
Therefore, I uninstalled the program and the reinstalled it again (the trial version both times). I added about 5000 images to Lightroom (i.e. referenced). After having made a couple of changes for one photo in development settings, I tried closing the program. However, then this message was then displayed:
I left the program open and running for about 5-5 hours, then tried closing the program, but the message still came up so I closed the program and restarted the computer. I tried making changes to another photo, saving and then closing and the same message comes up. The program also becomes unresponsive, and of course still no meta data has been saved to the photo, i.e. when opening it outside Lightroom, the edits of the photos is not shown.
What do do? I would greatly appreciate any insights, since I have now completely hit the wall.

What version of Lightroom? Include the minor version number (e.g., Lighroom 4 with the 4.1 update).

If you start shooting raw, then you're gonna need a raw processor, regardless of what the next step in the process will be. And there are none better for this purpose than Lightroom, in my opinion. As has been said, you can export those back to Lightroom as jpeg then delete the raws, if storage is a major issue, or convert to Lossy DNG. Both of those options assume you're willing to adopt a non-destructive workflow, from there on out anyway (not an absolute requirement, but probably makes the most sense). It's generally a bad idea to edit a jpeg then resave it as a jpeg, because quality gets progressively worse every time you do that. Still, it's what I (and everybody else) did for years before Lightroom, and if you want to adopt such a workflow then yeah: you'll need a destructive editor that you like (or as I said, you can continue to use Lightroom in that fashion, by exporting new jpegs and deleting originals - really? that's how you want to go???). Master Data daily Load Process Chain Error..

Hi All,
I have a process chain which is used to extract master data for 6 infoobjects ,all the Attribute data is delta and all the Text Data is full , now my proess chain suddenly failed on 9/09/2010 and from that day even when i try 'Repeat' the Start process is fine but the next process starts and then goes to 'RED' when i checked the error i saw the error message as 'Requesting the last delta for master data is not supported' . Can anyone help me with how to rectify this process chain when i check the IDocs i am seeing a error 'Code page not found' and also an error 'Update mode R is not supported by the extraction API'

Make sure your last delta was sussessfull or not?
If not change the status of the failed load to red and try to reinti the load.
This problem occurs when we tried to request repeat delta for master data extractors, For Master data datasources delta updated based on ALE Change pointers. So Repeat can't be done if any delta load ended with error.
YOu need to reinitalize.
