Problem - Bursting information in Xml file

Hello All,
Can you please guide me How to burst a BIP stand alone version report with all the email(bursting) information coming as XML file source.
In other words, I've a report with Data model as file source(xml file) and would like to burst it, but the email address is included in the input xml file. Please assist.
Thanks.

Well, read first the documentation (assuming it is BIP10g):
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e12187/T518230T518233.htm#4512015
You will notice you are limited to only SQL query to define your bursting criteria.
Two things before you can burst sourcing an XML flat file:
- Bursting criteria is SQL : Your deliver by key from your xml flat file must match the keyid that you will place in the SQL query of your bursting criteria
- All the emails you need to send to must be placed in records in the same DB you will be querying against for the bursting criteria, i.e each along with the keyid there must be another column email in the table you will be qerying for your bursting.
In other words you must construct a table in a database which will contain keyid and email at least.
regards
Jorge

  • Accessing config information in XML file in a Weblogic web service (JWS)

    Problem:
    I have implemented a web service for sending emails and pages via Java Mail and SNPP respectively using WebLogic Workshop on the BEA WebLogic 8.1 platform. In the service, I use certain pieces of information that are currently stored in an XML file on disk. Also, in its current state, the web service is implemented with public methods directly in the .jws Java file and not as a session bean. The file read from disk is performed every time the web service operation to send a message is invoked. As we all know, the I/O files access is very expensive and a performance bottleneck, especially when it is incurred on every invocation of the web service ‘sendMessage’ [operation.
    Without radically re-writing the application, I am looking for a way to improve the performance of the web service and can only come up with the following 2 ways:
    1) Move the code out of the sendMessage operation: Here, the main question I have is 'to where should I move it to'? I have seen in the WebLogic Workshop documentation that WebLogic Server maintains only a single instance of a Java class that implements a Web Service operation, and each invoke of the Web Service uses this same instance. In that case, I should be able to put the code in the constructor so that the files is read only at the time the class is instantiated, but a constructor in the .jws file that contains the web service operations itself does not seem to be invoked by the container (I tried to put a breakpoint in the constructor, but it seems that the constructor code never gets called)
    2) Move the configuration variables into some type of standard configuration file of WebLogic, something like web.xml or wlw-config.xml or jws-config.properties files. But I found that these XML files have an associated schema to conform to and do not provide any custom elements or attributes that I could add for my application(is that true?). Also, if I can somehow put the configuration information into any of these standard files, how do I access it from within the application 'without' doing a file read from disk? Are these configuration file items available in memory for access and use by the web service and if they are, what API can I use to access and use them?
    Any and all ideas are welcome!
    Thanks!

    I have been looking into a similar problem. Since web services are by design stateless, they aren't good for 'remembering' information between calls. Aside from a file read, the only other solution I have found is to use a database. You can make use of an entity bean or simply make some kind of JDBC call. I don't know if you need to stick with the config file, but if so maybe you could read the config data into a database once and then you might have faster access than reading from a file. I'm not sure about which would have better performace, but its all I have come up with so far. What parser are you using to read your XML file? Have you tried others to see if they have better performance?

  • Memory overflow problems when processing huge XML files

    Hi All,
    We are in need of processing very large XML file.(more than 100MB)..
    We ran this job in background and it resulted in runtime errors.
    Is there any way of processing this file as a whole?
    Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Nov 17, 2010 4:16 PM - subject adjusted

    Normally such memory problems can be avoided by using block processing and clearing tempory data inbetween the blocks. However all XML techniques that I know (DOM, XSLT, ST) require all data to reside in an internal table at once. I will be facing a similar problem soon, so I'm quite interested in a solution.
    One way would be to upgrade the hardware and allow more memory to be allocated to the workprocess (system administration). Some background information:

  • Problem in downloading a xml file

    hi,
    i have a requirement that, in a page for example test.html a button is provided. on clicking that button one a request is send to an application which is running at a remote location, which i dont know. just i have the url of that perticular application which is running at one server. Depending on the requirement i have to pass different arguments, based on this arguments, remote application returns a XML file as a response.
    In my application one servlet has to catch that response, process the xml and i have to store the elements present in the xml file into a suitable datastructure object and keep that object in the context of the application for further manipulation, finally i have to dispaly all the data present in that in to another page like a display.jsp.
    i dont know how the remote application is working, i know only that if any request goes to that application with a valid arguments, it returns a xml to the application who makes that request. and that response should be handled by my application.
    To solve this, i used socket communication in java.net package. by clicking the button, i called a servlet and that servlet calls the remote application by passing the valid parameter, catch the xml file as responce, and do whatever required.
    i need ur suggesions about this that i did in a right way or not. if any body have another idea about how to solve this, please give me a reply.

    there's usually more than one way to do something, and right or wrong isn't always the best way to look at it. if your solution works, then you're good! if you are having problems in a specific area, post the code/error and we can help.

  • Can someone help me with a problem of parsing an XML file?

    Hello,
    I'm having some problems parsing an xml file. I get a SAXNotSupportedException when setting a property value.
    Here is the piece of code where I have the problem:
    SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
    spf.setNamespaceAware(true);
    SAXParser saxParser = spf.newSAXParser();
    XMLReader xmlReader = saxParser.getXMLReader();
    DefaultHandler defHandler = new DefaultHandler();
    xmlReader.setProperty("http://xml.org/sax/properties/lexical-handler", defHandler);
    and the log is:
    Problem with the parser org.xml.sax.SAXNotSupportedException: PAR012 For propertyID "http://xml.org/sax/properties/lexical-handler", the value "org.xml.sax.helpers.DefaultHandler@4ff4f74a" cannot be cast to LexicalHandler.
    http://xml.org/sax/properties/lexical-handler org.xml.sax.helpers.DefaultHandler@4ff4f74a LexicalHandler
    I've been working on this problem but I can't find the error.
    Does anyone have an idea of what to do to solve it?
    Thanx in advance,
    M@G

    before deciding which XML technology to use, you should see if your application fit in the category below:
    use SAX:
    1. The XML file is rather large (30 or 40+ MB)
    2. I don't need the xml document in memory. I will parse the document and store the data in my own object.
    use DOM or JDOM
    1. The XML file is relatively small (less than 30 MB) or I can increase the runtime memory for larger xml file.
    2. I will need to walk up and down the xml document tree severals time.
    3. My application is in Java and it's not going to be rewritten in C++, etc (use JDOM)
    NOTE:
    JDOM is rather easier to use (for Java developer), but it's not an www.org.com standardlized xml parser.
    personally, i like JDOM for traversing the DOM.

  • Performance Problem in parsing large XML file (15MB)

    Hi,
    I'm trying to parse a large XML file(15 MB) and facing a clear performance problem. A Simple XML Validation using the following code snippet:
    DBMS_LOB.fileopen(targetFile, DBMS_LOB.file_readonly);
    DBMS_LOB.loadClobfromFile
    tempCLOB,
    targetFile,
    DBMS_LOB.getLength(targetFile),

    src_offset,
    nls_charset_id(CONSTANT_CHARSET),
    lang_context,
    conv_warning
    DBMS_LOB.fileclose(targetFile);
    p_xml_document := XMLType(tempCLOB, p_schema_url, 0, 0);
    p_xml_document.schemaValidate();
    is taking 30 mins on a HP-UX (4GB ram, 2 CPU) machine (Oracle version : 9.2.0.4).
    Please explain what could be going wrong.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Vineet

    Thanks Mark,
    I'll open a TAR and also upload the schema and instance XML.
    If i'm not changing the track too much :-) one more thing in continuation:
    If i skip the Schema Validation step and directly insert the instance document into a Schema linked XMLType table, what does OracleXDB do in such a case?
    i'm getting a severe performance hit here too... the same file as above takes almost 40 mins to Insert.
    code snippet:
    DBMS_LOB.fileopen(targetFile, DBMS_LOB.file_readonly);
    DBMS_LOB.loadClobfromFile
    tempCLOB,
    targetFile,
    DBMS_LOB.getLength(targetFile),
    dest_offset,
    src_offset,
    nls_charset_id(CONSTANT_CHARSET),
    lang_context,
    conv_warning
    DBMS_LOB.fileclose(targetFile);
    p_xml_document := XMLType(tempCLOB, p_schema_url, 0, 0);
    -- p_xml_document.schemaValidate();
    insert into INCOMING_XML values(p_xml_document);
    Here table INCOMING_XML is :
    TABLE of SYS.XMLTYPE(XMLSchema "http://INCOMING_XML.xsd" Element "MatchingResponse") STORAGE Object-
    relational TYPE "XDBTYPE_MATCHING_RESPONSE"
    This table and type XDBTYPE_MATCHING_RESPONSE were created using the mapping provided in the registered XML Schema.

  • Reading information from XML files

    I have created a document where the user has the possibility to export a XML-file by clicking on a button.
    Is it somehow possible to load this data so I can enter its content back into the document? (maybe by using loadXML()? I could not find any useful help to this method anywhere).

    Actually, I am looking for a possibility for every user to save XML code and eventually load it back in without having to download/buy any further programs.
    I now had the idea to generate XML code in a textfield when the user clicks on a button. This code can be copied in an extern .txt file so every piece of information can be stored - even if the document is closed. It is also possible to reenter this code into the textfield and click on another button which uses the loadXML() function.
    This works pretty good except for images. Saving the rawValue of an image would create hundreds of lines of source code... so now all I need to know is how to keep the information of an image field (It can display multiple images, depending of the users choice).

  • Bursting from an XML file

    I have a BIP Report that I'm generating from an XML file. The XML file also contains the email addresses to which these reports should be bursted to. When creating the data model from the XML file, I have the option of defining my bursting options but it seems that "SQL Query" is only allowed option.
    Is it not possible to burst dynamically from an XML file?
    Could you show me how I can get this done. The docs haven't really been too helpful.

    Of course, this is possible. But what kind of "GUI XML" are you talking about? Is the XML given? Does it already conform to some GUI-XML-API? Give more infos!

  • Problem with parsing large XML files chunked over HTTP

    I'm trying to isolate a bug that was introduced when upgrading the JRE in use from Java 7u51 to 7u71 without changing any code. The problem appears to be very similar to: Bug ID: JDK-8027359 XML parser returns incorrect parsing results.
    Further investigation showed that it was also introduced in the same versions (7u71) where that fix was applied. Unlike that bug though, my XML is marked as version 1.0. It also appears to be with only large XML files, on the order of 10MB or so.
    The closest I've been able to narrow it down to is the code is using JAXB to unmarshall a stream that the debugger tells me is a org.apache.http.com.EofSensorInputStream / org.apache.http.impl.io.ChunkedInputStream. The exception I get is not consistent, but typically appears to be from chunks being overwritten or shuffled, resulting in letters appearing in attributes that are actually numbers, or like the following where an attribute "testAttribute" gets partially overwritten by the end of a timestamp that was in a different section of the XML.
    javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException
    - with linked exception:

      at com.sun.xml.internal.bind.v2.runtime.unmarshaller.UnmarshallerImpl.unmarshal0(UnmarshallerImpl.java:355)
      ... 6 more
    Here's some code that seems to reproduce it if you can connect to an XML server that returns a large chunked XML file:
      SchemeRegistry registry = new SchemeRegistry();
      registry.register(
                    new Scheme("http", 80, PlainSocketFactory.getSocketFactory()));
      HttpClient client = new DefaultHttpClient(new BasicClientConnectionManager(registry));
      String url = "http://someUrlReturningAlargeChunkedXML";
      HttpGet method = new HttpGet(url);
      HttpResponse response = client.execute(method);
      InputStream inputStream = response.getEntity().getContent();
      XMLStreamReader responseReader = factory.createXMLStreamReader(inputStream);
      JAXBElement<JaxBObjectOfResponse> wot = unmarshaller.unmarshal(responseReader, JaxBObjectOfResponse.class);
    If you connect using URL.openStream() to the same service there is no error. If I read bytes directly and write to a file, there is no error. The error only happens when I try to unmarshal it, and it's large, and I'm using Java 7u71 (or later). It can be consistently repeated with the jsp webapp that I'm using, but didn't show the error when I used the same code with a Wikipedia dump XML file.
    How can I unmarshal in a different way to avoid this problem? Or, how can I better isolate the bug so it can be posted to the appropriate bug system?

    Apparently, adding the Woodstox XML libraries avoids the bug. Is there anyone who can reproduce this on another system? Was there any changes to the Stax implementation between u67 and u71 that may have introduced a bug like this?
    Edit: When setting the logging level to DEBUG, I once saw the overwritten buffer being logged as if that was what was received (as in the testAttribu00Z example above). I can't repeat that anymore though, and very rarely it does parses with no exception (though it may have still been corrupted). Now the error seems to be consistently on one of the buffer boundaries, as in:

But in ID , after file adapter , reciever agreement configuration when I am doing receiver determination configuration I am not able to insert mapping program in configuration overview of receiver determination as I am not getting "New Specific" option in mapping .
    Can anybody suggest what could be the reason behind this .
    Thanks in Advance
    Prabhat

    Hi PRabhat,
    In RCVR determination, you need to select the party & service (as appropriate) save the obeject
    then refresh the configuration overview of recr det.
    then you can see the partner/service
    then you can open it & add the necessary objects.
    Regards
    Vishnu

  • Problem in decryption of xml file

    Hi Friends,
    I have encrypted an xml file using RSA-1024 (using a public key) . It is encrypted successfully.
    Now to decrypt the resultant file, I'm using the same algo (using a private key), but it results a blank/empty file instead of original xml file.
    Pls help me to decrypt the file.
    Thanks.
