Problem during summer time switch with all date functions

Hello,
During the summertime switch, we faced some issues in MII (12.1.9 Build(116)).
We are receiving the date/time in GMT XML format from our shop floor system.
I noticed when the date/time is between 02:00 and 03:00, all date functions are not working in expression editor (like in assign block).
For example : datefromxmlformat("2014-03-30T02:00:01","yyyyMMdd HHmmss") will return nothing... Even adding the Z to tell it's UTC does not help :
datefromxmlformat("2014-03-30T02:00:01Z","yyyyMMdd HHmmss"), but no success...
Even worst, the expression dateaddminutes("2014-03-30T02:00:01","10") will lead to a conversion exception...
Is there a solution to this ?

Hi Olivier,
These all cover the topic, but many are for MII versions prior to yours. However each has some explanations which are worth reading. I would recommend the last one for an explanation of how Java and schedulers work during DST.

There is no problem about using one ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match, and another for iCloud and its email and syncing facilities. This way you can all use the same iTunes account but have separate emails and calendars etc.

Error during the save process with Planning data form

Hi,
When in Planning web-client, I am trying to make changes to data on a data form. The cells are level-0 members (Yellow and writeable in a bottom-up Working version). When I save, it takes a while to process the request, then gives me the following error message: "There was an error during the save process."
The data form is fairly large, could this be causing the problem? I am a able to save data on other forms that correspond to the exact same set of members and dimensions with no problem. What are possible causes of this error? I have tried stopping and starting planning and the entire EPM system. Thank you.

I believe you are using V11, I would stop planning, clear out log \Hyperion\logs\services\HyS9Planning-sysout.log, start planning, replicate the error and then going in look if the log has any more detailed information.

Import Nikon Raw with All Data?

I have a Nikon D50 and want to import into iPhoto, but I am losing the ISO settings. Is there any way to preserve this bit of data?

The pag file has the possiblity to increase each time you load your data even if you are loading the same exact data. One of the things the Admin Guide says about correcting this is to occaisional clear all of your data from the database and re-load it. This can be done from the application manager, or using RESETDB if using Esscmd.Hope this helps.Kyle

Login security problem during fast user switching

Here are the steps to reproduce the security problem I'm seeing on my system:
1) Users A and B are logged in.
2) User A was the last user and user A put the system to sleep.
3) User B wakes the computer from sleep and sees the login prompt asking for user A's password.
4) Instead of clicking "Switch Users," user B enters his username into the username field (where user A's is already provided) and user B enters his password.
5) User B then goes to user A's account.
In short, user B is getting into user A's account. More about my particular setup: I have two accounts on the computer, one for work and one for personal use. Though they're both mine, the accounts have different usernames, long names and passwords. Both are administrator accounts. The above isn't reproducible with a standard user account, only administrator accounts.
I created a third administrator account and tried the same steps to get access to an account. The third admin account could also be sent into the last user's account (the user who put the system to sleep). A new standard account could not.
I'm guessing this is something peculiar to my setup, but can anyone else reproduce this on their system? Or it could be my search didn't pull up a thread where this is already discussed.

This is a well known phenomenon. It isn't a bug. Admin users pretty much own the machine, they can do anything they want with their own admin password.
It is not a good idea to use an admin account for everyday use because it introduces security risks. Admin accounts should only be logged into for admin purposes. I recomment keeping your newly created admin account, and changing your other two accounts to standard, and then continue using them normally. Firefox hangs at random times, even with all plugins disabled.

I get a white screen with the Windows circle that indicates Firefox is busy. On the bottome left, it says "waiting for XXX," where XXX is a hostname, usually some kind of ads server. Then it says Firefox stopped responding.

Problem in getting Time info with webLogic using Oracle Thin Driver

We have a servlet to store/retrieve date/time data from an Oracle 9i db using use the Oracle thin driver. Everyting is ok when run on JSDK2.1 servlet container or Tomcat. But when run under WebLogic 8.1, we have problem with time portion info, it is lost. After debuging, we found under WebLogic, the returned object type is a java.sql.Date which by definition has no time info, while in other servlet containers, it is a java.sql.Timestamp. Storing date/time data in a Date column is ok under WebLogic because we see the time portion data in the db table. We did not set anything about database/jdbc in WebLogic.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone can explain what effect WebLogic has on a servlet that has its own jdbc connection or how WebLogic could change data type from a jdbc sql statement.

That's a function of the JDBC driver, not the J2EE app server.
Sounds like maybe you're using the WebLogic 8.1 driver when you deploy with WL instead of the Oracle driver. You certainly can deploy with the Oracle driver. Go into the WL config manager and set it up to use the ojdbc14.jar instead.

Need help for storing time along with the date

Hi,
I have one procedure as follows, In last_update_column of the table job_data having date and time.But after execution of this procedure only date is inserting into the job_master.
If I queires the table job_master with to_char(Last_Update_Date, 'DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') , then it is showing time as 12:00:00.
I tried to insert date with to_char,to_date format but it is not working.
Please provide me the solution.

Getting problem in binding DropDown List with table data in visual JSF

I am getting few problems while working over components.
I have succeeded in binding data of Person table in a drop down list .
By just drag drop ..it worked.
But while connecting to external DB this drag drop mechanism didn't work for me .
1st problem that i faced was by dragging method columns are not visible when i did right click-> bind to Data -> DataProvider window .
But i am successfully printed table Data in backend ie: by putting

Report with all Data Targets in Production and Record Count

I am planning to create new report to handle some production maintenance work.
How do I create a report with list of each ODS and Cube and count of Active record count? Can I use any report in BW statistics and modify based on my requirements?
And also "Last Activation Date" is required.

OIM: Invalid ManagerLogin during first time Recon with LDAPSync

Hey All,
I just installed OIM with LDAP Sync. I can create users in OIM and they get pushed to OID just fine. When I try to run a full Recon though, OIM creates events for all the users, but they are all stuck, all with the same note:

I'm guessing it's invalid because it doesn't exist, but no one exists yet... am I missing something?

From where are you doing full recon from? Also did you check if you have the user "MLEGGIO" in OIM? The problem I see is that you doing a trusted recon to load a user say "X" whose manager is "M" but "M" does not exists in OIM, so OIM will not be able to create that user. The workaround to this is to create a UDF in OIM and map it to the manager from the target. Later on once the user "X" is created in OIM then run another schedule task which takes the manager from UDF (i.e. "M") and if "M" exists in OIM then will set it to the OOTB manager field in OIM for "X"

Recording universal time along with dynamic data

Hey guys, basic question.
I have a single pressure transducer that I'm recording data from. I want to have a single button that the user can press to start recording and have the same button stop recording. I suppse the catch is that as the user, I would like to see periodic updates from the what the DAQ assistant is seeing.
The problem I'm having is that the time stamp in the recorded data file repeats for every cycle of the DAQ assistant. Meaning, if I record two cycles at 5 Hz and at 5 samples, my time stamp goes from 0,.2,.4,.6,.8,0,.2,.4,.6,.8. See it repeats. Ideally I'd like it to go like this 0,.2,.4,.6,.8,1,1.2,1.4,1.6,1.8. I'm attached the VI and sample output. I appreciate any help you guys can provide.

How are you running your VI?
It only runs one time them stops. It doesn't have a while loop for multiple iterations.
Please don't tell me you are using the Run Continuous button and the Abort button. They are only for debugging purposes.
If you put a while loop around your code and use a real stop button on your Front panel, you'll see it works just fine. Run Continuous is not the same as a while loop. It is more like, run, run again, run again, run again, always restarting the VI until you hit the abort button which is what is causing your time stamps to restart.
