Problem encountered when updating to ICS (4.1.B.0.587)
So, I was updating my Sony Xperia Live With Walkman from GB (2.3.4) to ICS (4.1.B.0.587) with PC Companion this morning. Had 52% battery life and I followed everything that was instructed, but halfway towards the end it had and error.Therefore I tried updating it with SUS but the result was the same!
Now when I tried to boot my phone up the boot aniamtion was just the SONY word, which is the ICS new boot animation. But the after that a picture of exclamation sign with a smartphone under it showed! I'm guessing that my old GB has been removed already and the new ICS was halfway installed. Now my phone couldn't be operated anymore and the advise given by sony support was to go to the nearest repair centre to get it done. IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY THAT I CAN FINISH INSTALLING IT MYSELF??? I don't wanna have a hassel travelling to the repair centre cz it's quite far from my house. ANY SOLUTIONS EXPERIENCED USERS, EXPERTS OR DEVELOPERS??
You should not have discharged battery?
You can try:
Turn off your phone
Remove the battery for a few minutes.
Insert the battery.
Phone no turn.
Connect the charger (use original charger and cable).
Charge the phone while turned off for about 5 hours.
Then use:
PC Companion (PCC) or Sony Update Service (SUS)
before backup

Problem encountered when using RKD_WORD_WRAP

I have encountered a problem when using RKD_WORD_WRAP. The problem is that the paragraph is not being formatted nicely when i try to printout in Smartforms.
Eg is that I want to format this paragraph;

The problem is that even though after the "the" word, although that line still has some spaces, thecorresponsing words just wont get concatenate to the 2nd line (as seen above).
Is there any way to fix this?? Or is there a standard value to be use for the outputlens parameter so that the above situation will not occurs??Check the below program and output :

Suppose you want to print 100 charcters in each line .. upto 95 charcters you have words perfectly the next will start at 97th ,so here word is <b>' Function'</b>
so this word will not fit into that line since you have 4 charcters,Function word is containg 8 charcters,this word will come in next line.
Check the program and give what ever input and see the results.

Problem occur when updating splitPane!
Hi guys,
I am now writing a application which allow user to change its skin by their own flavour. However, each time when the application update the whole UI by the build-in function SwingUtilites.updateComponentTreeUI(), the outer borders of the splitPane will become thicker. It seems that the system paint the new splitPane inside the old splitPane (I guess)??? It just looks very urgly when user change its flavour again and again.
I have trying to fix it for a long time, but finally can't. Does anyone have same the problem before or anyone knows the solution for this problem?

TedIn my GUI, i have two split panes , but just works fine, by the way which look and feels you are using.
Note : dont use custom look and feels with java built-in look and feels.
custom look and feel == where images use
built-in == winodows, metal etc.
because if you mix both type of l&f , then components doesnot paints well. -

Sound problems encountered when copying and pasting
Hi all,
I've been running into a rapidly growing problem in Premiere Pro CS3. I'm hoping someone can help.
I've copied two clips -- both audio and video -- from two different Premiere Pro projects, but when I try to paste both clips into a third project, my audio files become badly screwy. The sound completely drops out from one clip, and in the other, the sound speeds up, like an old record played at a high speed. I have no idea what to do.
My computer is a Dell Inspiron. I've used the same load presets for all three projects: DV-NTSC Widescreen 48kHz. I'm at a complete loss as to what's wrong. Could someone give me a little insight? Thanks everyone.

SQL problem encountered when setting up SCCM
Hi all,
I am currently trying to setup a configuration manager primary site (as a stand-alone site) in a test environment. My SQL server has already been setup, with other components of system center 2012 (SCOM, SCSM, Orchestrator) relying on the same
SQL 2008 standard edition R2 SP2 server.
I have been unable to install SCCM itself though. lets say I am now logged into my SCCM server using a domain admin account called scadmin. I have used scadmin to install other components of system center. Under my SQL server, in management studio, scadmin
has rights of "public", "securityadmin", "serveradmin", "setupadmin", "sysadmin".
When trying to specify my SQL server, instance name, I encountered the following error.
Setup is unable to connect to SQL Server with the connection information provided. Verify the following:
1. The SQL server and instance names are entered correctly
2. The specified SQL server instance is not configured to use dynamic ports
3. If a firewall is enabled on the SQL server, inbound rules exist to allow connections to the correct ports
4. The account used to run setup has permissions to connect to the specified SQL Server instance
I have verified against the 4 mentioned points above:
1. Yes
2. My understanding is SQL server by default uses static ports, so mine should be static
3. No firewall involved, all servers are on the same physical machine, connected to a switch, Windows firewall off
4. Permissions as mentioned above.
I also went to check out the log file in the SCCM server, C:\ConfigMgrSetupWizard.txt
this is what i saw everytime i tried to click next in the setup
"Creating SQL connection to database scsqlserver\master on server SC-SQL-01.testdomain.com"
My SQL server hostname: SC-SQL-01
SQL instance: scsqlserver
i also noticed in the same log file that when I start the installation, there is an error saying
"Cannot not connect to SMS provider on local machine. Either it is not installed or access is denied.
Cannot detect SMS Type because either SiteServer, SqlServer or SiteServerName is empty."

I have attempted to resolve this program by verious recommendation such as downloading Microsoft Visual C++, but nothing works. Program begin with updating iTunes.

iTunes doesn't work, Helpturingtest includes most of what I experienced as a Solution.
The Apple Sppt guy did NOT Uninstall iCloud with my issue BUT After Uninstalling Apps and Manual Deletes in Program Files (x86) as instructed the iTunes Re-Install produced a pop-up at the end about Reggistry Settings for Import and CD Burning are Missing ... Re-Install iTunes. (saw another Thread on this Reg issue)
2nd call to Apple netted that Uninstalling Quicktime Fixed that Registry issue most every time.
IF you do all of this over you may try Uninstall of Quicktime to be safe and check if more Manual Deletes are requ'd after the QT Uninstall is run..

Problem encountered when installing ldif file
I have installed SunOne Directory Server 5.1 on windows 2000 server.
then, when I try to install one ldif file using ldif2db.bat , it always give wrong command format message.

In the commmand you also need to specify the suffix or the backend database so at minimal the command should be
ldif2db.bat -n backend_instance -i lifeSIT.ldif
Now by default the backend database is called "userroot" so the command becomes
ldif2db.bat -n userroot -i lifeSIT.ldif
Alternatively you can specify the suffix instead of the backend
ldif2db.bat -s "dc=example,dc=com" -i lifeSIT.ldif
I would also suggest that you read the documenation to fimiliarize yourself with the import process (this link is for 5.2)

When updating new iPhone software I have to use a different computer.
When trying to update new iPhone software I have to use my MacBook instead of my iMac. If I use the iMac I can download the software with no problem, but when updating it gets to the point where it's almost done then it just stops. When I use the MacBook I can complete the whole process no problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Any reason why you have not updated to 10.6.4? On your iMac, navigate to ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates and delete any & all .ipsw files you find. There should only be one, but delete all that are listed. You will most likely have to first turn on show all hidden files & folders to see them. Once done, run software update. Make sure iTunes is up to date. Once done, launch disk utility from your utilities folder, select your hard drive, select "Repair Permissions". When finished, re-boot your computer. See if you can update now. There should be NO firewalls or anti-virus running...none.

My iPad2 says "cannot connect to iTunes store" when updating apps. Connects properly when buying apps or music - only problem is when updating. I have tried all the suggestions that I have found: soft reset, ensuring that restrictions, changing my apple account password, turning on automatic downloads.

App Sore is OK, and Safari also where connection is ok.
My computer, Windows 7/64 connects via iTunes utility ok.
I upgraded to IOS5 the same day as I got the iPad2, and I am not sure if it worked before.

This is to report the problem i encountered when i updated my Ipad mini to the new IOS 8.1..
After the update my Ipad restart and after that it appears a picture that need to connect to itunes and need to restore. So i connect it to itunes and wait to restore my ipad mini because it is not opening.
After restoring it my ipad is now opening and it is like new that i need to set up again.
I set up again until i reach the apple id and password.
I put my below apple ID and password to unlock my ipad but it didn't work. The message i receive is "the apple ID cannot be used to unlock this Ipad.
What will I do? Please help.

I did the update and even did a factory reset, and I am having
problems typing when plugged in to the wall charger, I get random keystrokes,
from all over the keyboard, not just the keys around the one i want to press.
Dolphin browser is running supper slow, especially when on Facebook. The
battery life has lost at least an hour.Phones will do that when plugged in, esp with cheap chargers.. it has to do with the voltage and coveting and the digitized screen. You can google if you want more indepth there

What problems will I encounter when I upgrade to leopard?

I'm going to purchase a Leopard upgrade for my MacBook Pro, but i've read alot of problems that users are encountering on this forum (Saying that, I've been on the MacBook Pro forum and there's alot of posts concerning issues/problems with this Laptop, but I have not ever had any).
So is there any initial problems that I WILL encounter when upgrading my MacBook Pro 1GB 2.16GHz Intel Duo Core from 10.4.11 to 10.5.1?
Regards,I'm still awaiting delivery of OSX Leopard, but I think what I might do once it arrives is to just upgrade with no backup of my current 10.4.11 on an external Hard Drive. What could possibly go wrong? nothing really has with any apple product i've bought so far.
That's just plain foolish. Never ever upgrade without a backup. We get "this operating system ate my hard drive posts" here all the time. Why? Not because the operating system is flawed, but because people don't take proper precautions. No operating system can handle:
1. Corrupt system data files.
2. Third party drivers and firmware that aren't updated.
3. Lack of disc space.
4. Directory damage.
5. RAM that hasn't been completely tested.
With every update, a different angle on the problems above appears to happen, because each update accesses data files slightly differently, whether to match newer specs for information, or to better manage memory for other types of applications which need better memory management. Unfortunately unless you are using a vanilla system, which most people aren't, your chances of success diminish with each new addon you put in. See my upgrade FAQ*:
