Problem in loading oracle 8.1.5
I have loaded oracle 9.0.1 database on my server successfully.
since my application is in oracle 8.1.5, I tried to load oracle 8.1.5 but it gives a message saying error occurred during loading with the options of either stoping all components or that component only so If I choose second option that message keeps on coming and eventually installations unsuccessful message comes.
Pls help
guys,
I want to install oracle 8.1.5 on windows 2000 server.
I have two databases, one in oracle 8.1.5 and another one in oracle 9i so I need to install both versions of oracle software in my system.
I installed oracle 9i successfully and my database was is also working smoothly on it but when I am trying to install oracle 8.1.5, I am unable to even install oracle software as it says error during loading, then two options one is to quit and another one is to skip some particular compenent and procced ahead. When I choose the second option I keep on getting a message to either quit or skip so eventually I get the message that installation was unsuccessful.
There is no ora error message.
Tell me do I need to install Oracle 8.1.5 first and then 9i or I can install them in any order.
After completing the above task, I also want to install oracle 8.1.7 on the same server as we require to upgrade our database from 8.1.5 to 8.1.7 for the time being.
I hope now everything is clear!!!! Now Pls help me!!!

Hello guys,
Problem has been solved -
Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException. This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.
1. If you install 64 bit oracle this is not an issue. Install 64 bit oracle.
2. Download odp.net 32 bit from below link:-
ODP.NET Managed Driver Beta Download</title><meta name="Title" content="ODP.NET Managed Driver B…
3. installed the odp.net.
4. open the visual studio 2010.
5.Select new - project - asp.net web application - project name -ok
6.select tools- > connect to database- then follow the following steps
i> user name - your user name/client username (example -- hr)
ii> password -- enter your password/client password (example- hr)
iii>select connection type -- if you want to connect client database then- select EZ connect other wise select tns
iv>test the connection- then you will get connection succeed.
v> then click ok
Thanks
ChandrashekharYou do not need to do anything in VS. You do need to configure both tnsnames.ora files, because the drivers do not share any data.

Oracle Version: 8.1.5.0
Background information:
The database was original created with the

nullMurali,
Thank you, after I initialized Oracle's javavm
the errors disappeared.
The scripts were located under the javavm/install
directory.
Thanks again.

Problem to load XML SQL Utility into other user
Hi,
I need help to load XML Utility into other user than
"scott"tiger".
I loaded both xmlparser.jar and oraclexmlsql.jar into

fine. But when change USER_PASSWORD to another user, it gave me
some errors like

Do I need create any table or view for my another oracle account?
Or did I missed any thing. From the installation instruction, I

two jar files.
Thanks

ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using Data Services
Hello,
we are facing ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using BO Data services
(Oracle 10g database, BODS Xi 3.2 SP3)
Test Job performs
1- truncate table
2- load table (tested in standard and bulk load modes)
Scenario when issue happens is:
1- Run loading Job
2- Job end in error for any Oracle data base error
3- When re-running the same Job, Job fails with following error
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
It seems after first failure, Oracle session for loading the table stays active and locks the table.
To be able to rerun the Job, we are forced need to kill Oracle session manually to be able to run the Job again.
Expected behaviour would be : on error rollback modifications made on table and BODS stops Oracle session in a clean way.
Can somebody tell me / or point me to any BODS best practice about Oracle error handling to prevent such case?
Thanks in advance
Paul-Mariethe ora-0054 can occure depending how the job failed before. If this occures you will need the DBA to release the lock on the table in question
Or
AL_Engine.exe on The server it creates the Lock. Need to Kill Them. Or stop it..
This Problem Occurs when we select The Bulkloading Option in orclae We also faced the same issue,Our admin has Killed the session. Then everything alright. -
Problem in loading large data to SDE using Shp2sde command
Hi,
When we try load data to SDE (Oracle 8.1.5, Sun solaris 2.6)using shp2sde command, we get the following error message and the data is loaded partially:-
" SDE: Shape #2560 is an invalid entity type for layer station.
3337 features converted
3337 features stored "
The shape file had 4352 features of type point.
If the same data is splitted into 2 (one having 1906 features and another having 2446 features), there is no problem in loading.
The giomgr.log file had the following lines corresponding to this
loading.
Process 9512, R/T calls 14, features read 0, wrote 3337, locks 0,
buffers 1, partial 0, buffered features 3337, buffered data 555K
We suspect this is due some size specified somewhere which limits
loading of all the data. So our DBA granted SDE user quota unlimited to SDE tablespace. After the granting, everything works fine, we can load the data. But when we restart the server, the same error appear again.
We are encountering this error in production but not in the devt environment. We urgently need to solve this problem. Anyone has solution to this problem?
Thanks.

Problem with loading data to Essbase
Hi All,
I have a problem with loading data into Essbase. I've prepared maxl script to load the data, calling rule file. The source table is located in RDBMS Oracle. The script works correctly, ie. generally loads data into Essbase.
But the problem lies in the fact, that after deletion of data from Essbase, when I'm trying to load it again from the source table I get the message: WARNING - 1003035 - No data values modified by load of this data file - although there is no data in Essbase... I've also tried to change the mode of loading data from 'overwrite' to 'add to existing values' (in rule file) but it does'nt help ... XP Issue w/Sequence of Loading Oracle 8i SQL & 6i Forms
I am in the 8i Application Developer Cert Track working on MS Windows XP.
Our class was provided with Oracle 8i Personal Edition (for SQL) as the first product to load for Intro to PL/SQL (class I) and PL/SQL Blocks (class II).
That product is loaded and is working fine.
I am now in the Internet Forms I Class and have been given Oracle 6i - Forms & Reports to load.
I am told the order of installation is a problem IF Forms is not loaded BEFORE Oracle 8i.
I am getting the following error when the XP machine attempts to read the CD-ROM with Oracle 6i Forms and Reports: orainst.exe encountered a problem and needs to close.
Is there a specific version of 6i Forms for XP? Where can I locate and download this version?
I am looking for instructions on how to resolve the issues related to the order of installation since 8i is already loaded and attempting to remove this product does not remove it completely.......AND the 6i Forms CD will not even run on XP.
ANY direction would be appreciated.
THANKS!I got exactly same problem when installing Oracle 6i on P4 Windows XP and Orcle 8i. If you have a solution, please help me.
Thanks,
Linh

}Hi ,
In first look it seems a classpath problem. Means that your DB driver is not in the current class path .
But if it is not that the try to find the exact exception for that use exception's printstacktrace() and get the exception message . So in the following block of of code put e.printstacktrace()
catch(ClassNotFoundException e) {
out.println("Couldn't load database driver: " + e.getMessage());

But I cann't load Oracle driver. I suppose it is path problem. In option of my application I have set path to
classes12.zip, nls_charset12.zip and rt.jar.
But there isn't option ClassPath for Servlet in VisulaAge.
What can I do?What do you use to test your servlet?
In Visual Age, i use WTE (WebSphere Test Environement). You can find it in WorkSpace - Tools - WTE.
In WTE, click on servlet engine. You have 4 buttons on the right (sorry i use the french version so i do not know theirs english label) use the last one to change classpath.

Problems with loading native library/missing methods:no ttJdbcCS in java.li
Iam facing one problem while connecting the timesten client to the server The SQL Exception which Iam getting is pasted below:-
Problems with loading native library/missing methods: no ttJdbcCS in java.library.path
I am working with MAC OS X 10.7.2 and my timesten client version is 11.2.1.0
I have also changed the Java Preferences from 64-bit to 32-bit but still whenever i tried to connect with the SQL Developer it gives me the above error.I just tried this out. My environment is OS X 10.7.4, Timesten (32-bit) client 11.2.1.9.0, SQL Developer 3.1.07, Oracle Java 1.7.0_04.
The key things you need to be sure to do (in a terminal window) are:
1. Be sure to . in the TimesTen environment script <tt_install_dir>/bin/ttenv.sh to set the full TT environment.
2. Change directory to SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper
3. Run 'sh sqldeveloper.sh -J-d32'
and all should be fine.
Note that if you are using Java7 as I am then there is a step 1a. Change the CLASSPATH environment variable to specify ttjdbc6.jar not ttjdbc5.jar. For some reason running the app directly from Finder does not work even if you add -J-d32 into the sqldeveloper launch script. I'm still looking into that.

Hello;
i got a problem to load the orocle driver, could anyone tell how to do that, thanks.
The oracle driver is sit in "C:\apps\Oracle".
when I run my code, then it tell me that Could not load the oracle driver.
The following is my code for load the driver.
//try to load the driver
try {
Class.forName("C:apps.oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
System.out.println( "Cannot load the Oracle driver. Include it in your classpath.");
System.exit( -1);
}You are confusing class name with class path.
The class is inside the driver jar. The driver jar needs to be in the classpath available to the application when it runs.
Class.forName() will load the named class.
In other words, you need to make sure your classpath is properly set (outside of Java), and the Class.forName() line should be exactly this:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
