Problem in OIM Installation in Linux-64 bit environment

Hi,
Components used
1. Oracle Database11gR1
2. Weblogic Application server 10.3.0(installed in non clustered mode)
3. OIM 9.1.0.1
Also ensured the above three are compatible.
I'm facing problem at the end of OIM installation in RedHat Linux-64 bit environment.
The error details in setup-weblogic.log file is given below
===================================
setup-startscript:
setup:
[echo] Setting up weblogic for xellerate complete.
[ant] Exiting /oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml.
BUILD FAILED
/oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/setup.xml:443: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml:196: Could not create task or type of type: wlst.
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
- You have misspelt 'wlst'.
Fix: check your spelling.
- The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
Fix: declare the task.
- The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
download a pre-built release version from apache.org
- The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
- The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
- You are attempting to use a task defined using
<presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
defined it at the point of use
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
classpath
Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
as this is not an Ant bug.

Caused by: /oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml:196: Could not create task or type of type: wlst.
Further, I have identified that the ant was unable to launch a custom web logic task, wlst.
This custom task of web logic task is invoked by ant using the following script in <OIM_HOME>/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml.
<target name="setup" depends="setup-startscript">
<echo>Setting up weblogic for xellerate complete.</echo>
<wlst properties="${basedir}/Profiles/${profile}" arguments='SETUP_CONFIG ${profile}
${weblogic_login_password} ${datasource_user_password} '
fileName="${basedir}/setup/oimconfig.py"
executeScriptBeforeFile="false"
failOnError="true">
</wlst>
<antcall target="stopServer"/>
<antcall target="startServer"/>
</target>
Also I have ensured the all the environmental variables, JAVAOPTIONS, USER_MEM_ARGS, ANT_OPTS are properly set before installing OIM.
I have tried several times but still getting the same error.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Did anyone face this issue before??????

I am not certain but when I was installing OIM 9.1.x with wls 10.3.0 on windows I had a failure too and it turned out I didn't create the wls domain user and group for OIM. The docs for OIM 9.1 does not talk about it so you may want to create this account and group and re-try the install. The steps are below:
Log in to the WebLogic Admin Console using your new account by pointing a web browser to the following url:
http://<hostname>:7001/console
1. Select Security, then Realms, then myrealm, and then Groups from the navigation panel on the left.
2. Select the Configure a new Group link in the Groups page.
3. Enter User for the group name in the Name field under the General tab and optionally enter a description for the group.Click Apply.
Note:
The group name User is case-sensitive.
4. Select Security, then Realms, then myrealm, and then Users from the navigation panel on the left.
5. Select the Configure a new User link in the Users page.
6. Enter Internal for the user name in the Name field under the General tab and optionally enter a description for the user.
Note:
The user name Internal is case-sensitive.
7. Enter and confirm a password associated with the user name Internal and click Apply.
8. Select the Groups tab.
9. Add the User group to the list of Current Groups for the Internal user by selecting User from the list of Possible Groups and clicking the --> right arrow button. Click Apply.
Please post back if it works,
Thanks,

Usually, when you choose for example Oracle Service Bus Extension - Single Server Domain Topology - 11.1.1.3 [Oracle_OSB1], the dependencies are automatically chosen as well.
If this not happening, just add the products it is suggesting in the error, such as Oracle Service Bus OWSM Extension - 11.1.1.3 [Oracle_OSB1] .

  • SOA Suite Installation on Linux 64 bit machine

    Hi,
I have to install Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 on a Linux 64 bit machine. I want to install Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 version on the machine because any version above will not be supported on my machine. Here is the list of components I want to install.
    1. Oracle Database
    2. Weblogic server
    3. RCU
    4. SOA Suite
    5. JDeveloper extension
    7. BPM extension
    8. Oracle Service Bus
Can anybody tell me where can I get the downloadables for these components for Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 which is Linux 64 bit compatible. I searched the Oracle website but can't find it anywhere? I also looked at edeilivery site of oracle, but no luck. However, if anybody has the URL's to directly download it, then please share.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh G

    Anuj,
Thanks for your response. I can't raise an SR with Oracle since I am learning this on my own.
However to answer your question, I am using Processor AMD, 1.6GhZ with 4 GB RAM.
I have made my system dual boot with Windows 7 and Suse Linux 12.3, both 64 bit operating systems
I have tried to install 11.1.1.6 on my system on windows but the installation got hanged. And when I went for 11.1.1.5 on windows, the installation was smooth and I have it installed on windows7. But now I want to learn to install it on Linux machine also thats why I am asking for 11.1.1.5 downloadables.
    Thanks,

  • Problem in OIM installation

    Hi All,
I am trying to install OIM 9.1.0.1 on the following configuration:
    OS: Windows 2003 server
    jdk: Sun jdk 1.6.0_10
    App Server: jboss 4.0.3
    database: Oracle 10g
I have successfully installed java, and database and run the prepare_xl_db.bat file without any error (except the normal view or table doesn't exist).
But when I run the setup_server.bat file, it just starts with a command prompt and then gets closed and no other screen for installation appears.
I have checked the java_home, classpath and path variables. Everything looks fine.
java_home is set to the jdk folder.
classpath to the bin folder of jdk.
path is set to the system32, webem and bin folder of jdk folder.
If anyone has any idea about the same, please post.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

Are you using Virtual Environment ?
If yes, where you have kept the installables, Is it on ethe same machine where you are installing or you have kept it on your physical machine ?
You may laugh but once it worked for someone. So he suggested me. :)
When your command prompt opens it will show some file name.
Just see the temp folder, is it creating folder (temp folder of OIM Installables). Give try after copying the installables in temp folder of windows.

  • Problem with java installation on Linux

    HI ,
I am trying to install jdk on Linux..I am new to java and Linux both. I am trying to download the file for the linux installation onto my home PC(windows XP) and then ftp it to my Linux machine. I need to do this because I have a remote login to my Linux machine( a server at school). However when I try to download file my IE jsut crashes. I can see the page for accepting the Agreement but when I click on Accept the next page just stops responding.
Could someone explain why this is happening.
    thanks,
    G.

The problem doesn't have to do anything with Java or Linux as far as i can see. It's more likely a problem with Windows XP and IE. Be assured that normally downloading the Linux JDK in windows is not a problem.

    Hi,
This is regarding "[wldeploy] java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out; No available router to destination. Ensure the url represents a running admin server and that the credentials are correct. If using http protocol, tunneling must be enabled on the admin server."
Login to your weblogic server console. Navigate to Environments -> Server -> AdminServer -> Protocols
You will see a check box with the name Tunneling, just enable it and save the configuration.
Try now, the above exception will not occur.

  • OWB at Linux 64 Bit Environment

    Hi All,
    Iam new to Linux Environment.
Our client is recently started updating OS from Windows to Linux.
I would like to open Design centre in Linux server remotely from my desktop. Could you please provide steps?
    Regards,
    Ava

Yes, you can run OWB client directly on the server.
If you have a linux workstation, you can run Xwindows applications on server, and have the application window displayed on client!!! It is called X forwarding, and this is a feature that Xwindows had for years.
Connect to your server using ssh with -X switch, eg.
    [alex@alex]$ ssh -X oracle@myserver
once connected, go to the owb directory and run the client, which will display the application window on the CLIENT (your workstation), eg.
    [oracle@myserver ~]$ cd /oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/owb/bin/unix/
    [oracle@myserver unix]$ ./owbclient.sh
This way requires no additional installation on your machine, but OWB running over ssh can be a bit laggy. However, it is very usable. You can try to speed up the connection by using a cypher that is somewhat less CPU intensive, ie arcfour. The login would be then:
    [alex@alex]$ ssh -c arcfour -X oracle@myserver
Keep in mind, that running OWB client on the sever this way requires 500MB to 1GB of RAM more on the server (the client application is executing there).
The other option to run OWB on an linux 64bit workstation is to install the OWB 64bit (if you want to run 11g you can install the complete database server software, which comes with OWB) and run it normally on your workstation. This effectively limits the distribution you can use to red-hat, centos or fedora.
I'm running OWB 10.2 64bit on my fedora 64bit workstation for 2 years without any problems. It may not be certified, but runs without a glitch.
    Bye

  • DAC and Informatica 8.6.1 installation and configuration on Linux (64 bit)

    Hi Hussien,
I saw some very good post by you regarding installing, setting up and configuration R12 , OBIEE, DAC 10.13.4 , Informatica 8.6.1 on Windows. I am looking installation and configuration of Informatica and DAC installation on Linux 64 bit platfrom. I have already running R12 and OBIEE instances on Linux 64 but now need to configure the Informatica and DAC.
I find some starting steps and documentation from the web but your expert advises and reference Notes are awesome so looking for that.

  • Kernel.shmmax on Linux 64 bit (SLES 10 x86_64)

i'm installing 10gR2 on SLES 10 x86_64 bit on a machine with 64 bit xeon processors and i'm a bit confused
about the setting of kernel parameter kernel.shmmax. According to note 373681.1 and other similar notes
of requirements for installations on linux 64 bit it seems that this values can be setted at a maximum of
4gb and i can't understand why. For what i know Oracle tries to allocate SGA on one large shared memory
segment and the parameter kernel.shmmax for what i've understand limits the maximum size of shared memory
segments, with kernel.shmall. So if i set kernel.shmmax to 4 GB i'm not able to set SGA_MAX_SIZE to a value
higher than 4 gb and this is not what i want.
So, why on all notes i've found on the web it is written to set the parameter to a values max of 4 GB????
    Regards,
    Cristian Cudizio

On a 32 bit machine max addressable memory is 2^32-1^ which comes to 2GB considering one parity bit actual usable size for SGA is aroung 1.7-1.8GB. Using VLM/AWE you can increase upto 4gb (which comes to across 3.7GB usable). These are all limits given for 32bit machine which i could come across in metalink but I am not sure where is 4GB limit for 64bit machine specified as i don't have metalink access now. So, I cannot say anything about the doc which haven't seen.
    Thanks

A workaround is to upgrade it on the same platform and then move it to the new oS and change wordisize.

Need patch ID for Linux 64-bit equiv to 10.2.0.4 patch 17 for Windows 32-bit
    Hello,
We are transporting a database from Windows 32-bit to Linux 64-bit. Version/Patch on the Windows machine is 10.2.0.4.0 (10g Release 2 Patch Set 3), interim patch 8258839.
How do I find the equivalent patch set for the Linux 64-bit environment? We need to have the Linux environment at the same patch level.
    Thank you, Tim

AFAIK, the interim patch concept is only applicable to Windows. There is no Linux/Unix equivalent. See these MOS Docs

342443.1 - 10.2.0.x Oracle Database and Networking Patches for Microsoft Platforms

  • Installation OIM on redhat Linux really slow

    Hello,
I have a problem with the installation of OIM. When I try to install OIM on a linux server (redhat 5.0 64b) with the JRockit 64bits java 1.6.0 (jrmc 3.2.1-1.6.0) version the installer is just really slow. It takes ages for the command line installer to go to the next step.
has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
    greetings,
    Bas

The machine on which OIM is to be installed has enough memory, I believe it has 8GB..
The weird thing is that the first time we ran the installer, it was just normal (== fast) but the installation failed when deploying OIM into Weblogic and we can't run the weblogic deploy script, since this also fails.. (it throws a nameError: fail on the configoim.py script) That's when we decided to try to install OIM again from scratch.. so we moved the current installation directory to another location and started the installation again. This when the problems as decribed by Bas began.. The installer is really really slow.. we waited for more then 15 minutes for it to continue to the next step.. but it didn't. We checked the machine for spiking processes but the machine was totally idle..
Does anyone know what could be the problem? Are we doing anything wrong? or are we missing something?

  • Problem installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on Linux 64-bit - redux

I had posted an issue earlier about not being able to install the Software Only on my Linux 64-bit. That problem has not been solved, but this is a new (possibly related) issue.
I created a brand new installation of Linux, with an Oracle 11gR2 database, and created the BI repositories using rcu for 11.1.1.6
I then navigated to bishiphome/Disk1/install/linux64 and ran runInstaller.
Everything looks fine, all the way up to Step 13 of 15, where the installer is supposed to start copying files. It "hangs up" at that point. The tests for adequate swap space and Temp space are passed:

So far, I have confirmed I am using a 64-bit compliant java:
    $> java -version:
    java version "1.6.0_43"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_43-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.14-b01, mixed mode)
There is nothing installed in this box except the Linux OS, one single Oracle DB for me to install OBIEE, no WebLogic, nothing else.
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Nick

Well, I redownloaded all five zip files for Linux 64 bit, and completely deleted my old bishiphome.
I then unzipped all five zip files into a brand new bishiphome, and retried the installation. This is still a Linux box with nothing on it but Linux, one Oracle 11gR2 database, rcu11.1.1.6, and attempting to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6.
    Same result.
Still hangs at file copy, still has the same error message in the .out file.
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -2
    at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1937)
Any other ideas? This is getting really frustrating!
