Problem in opening Query

Hi all,
I need to create a workbook on a query, Am facing problem in opening the query, when i try to open a query in analyzer/ RSRT it starts processing & continues till 1 hour or more & finally message "Time limit Exceeded" pops up.
i tried opening a workbook & copy the workbook & tried changing the query in the data provider. but the same problem persists.
can anyone suggest me an alternate way to create workbook on a specified query.

It is not due to query performance coz all the performance related measure such as BIA & Aggregates are already taken, i dont even get the variable pop up screen for selecting &
once when i executed the query in RSRT it gave an ABAP Debugger errror. i check if it was problem with table space, but space is available & its auto extendable.

u can try creating new RFC connection
create as rakesh suggested...
Call transaction SM59.
Choose Create.
Enter GFW_ITS_RFC_DEST as the RFC destination.
Enter T as the Connection type.
Choose Enter.
Choose Registration.
Enter RFCCOM.GFW_ITS_RFC_DEST as the Program ID.

Problem in opening query in excel 2007

Hi All,
I am using MS office 2007.
But I am not able to use BEx with excel 2007.
I have SAP GUI 7.10 Installed also i have installed Excel As a viewer.
then also i am getting same problem.
So i request you to please guide me with this issue.
And as I don't have access for SAP NOTES, so plz don't suggest me any note to go through.

Hi Vishal,
When you have BEx with Excel 2007,
There will be an option "Add-Ins" tab,plugged in with Excel 2007.
Click Add-Ins->You will find the BEx Analysis and Design Toolbox in that.
This will allow you to work with BEx Analyzer and Excel 2007.
Revert me in case of any clarifications.

Unable to open query designer while able to access BI system

Hi Experts,
   I have problem while opening query designer, analyzer , WAD . I get the below error. But when i access the relevant BI system i am able to access it well , i dont get any RFC Error. Will there any port setting for query designer separately. This is problem faced at offshore which connects to client servers at onsite. Onsite guys are not facing any issues openning query designer or analyser. Please guide as i am not good in basis ..

Hi Experts,
   I have checked with basis team , my issue is resolved, please find the solution .
1) Add corresponding system server names in host files of the offshore desktops.
2) After that basis has added offshore natted ips in sap gatewat parameter/alternate hostnames in system profile (rz10 tcode).
Then offshore are able to access query deisgner etc....

Problem while opening Bex query on the web

Hello BW experts,
I have a problem while opening Bex query from my SAP Favorites.See below.
When i double click on the query, i get the following page, with the server name KBWS01QX.
But, from RSRT Tcode, select the query > query display as HTML > Click on ABAP Web , click execute as shown below, it is going to the correct URL as in the 2nd screen shot below.
My question is why is it going to the wrong URL when i open it from SAP Favorites menu?
I want it to open the same URL as it opened from RSRT(which is the right one)
What is the Config needed to make it to work from SAP favorites.
Any help would be appreciated.

From RSRT, this time I clicked on JAVA WEB, and i get the below URL, which is the same URL i was getting when i executed the query from SAP favorites.

It seems that it is trying to connect to Java portal something services may be, but i want it to open in ABAP web only.

1) When a query administrator with the sufficient authorization (sap_all or the * authorization for the field in the authorization object) is creating the query in query designer including the 'attributes' which are not visible with the 'normal' authorizations, the query will not list the columns in the output when it is executed by the normal user.
2) so create an authorization object for each of these attributes with * (full authorization)

Error while opening query

Hi
When i am trying to open query I can able to see the the query when I click on Change it is giving error message.
"Inconsistency in loading. Please check use of deleted objects"
When I try to execute that query it is giving error and disconnecting from Server.

Vani,
So teh IO's deleted are executing some function before the query is opened. Which means the it is throwing a runtime error. Well, to open the query you should add back those objects to the data target. You will be able to open the query then. Then remove the unwanted objects from the query and save it. After that you can remove the objects from the data target again.
Now in which system you are facing problem, in Dev or prod?

Navigational Attribute Problem in Input Query

Hi,
I am having a problem in input query implementation which uses a navigational attribute. I have, for eg, only one char 'customer' in rows; i want to exclude the customers with the status D (deleted) from displaying (Status is nav. attr. of customer). I tried this by restricting in filter, Status D-"exclude". But as soon as I do this, query no longer remains input ready! (I also tried putting the same restriction in Default Values area rather than Filter, but ended with the same result )
I discovered that if, furthermore, I put Status in rows (with the above said restriction still remaining), query is again input ready.
Can't we exclude values in the filter on an input query? I want to know if this is a restriction with IP or a bug?

Thanks for the explanation. But this makes me wonder, because due to this restriction one of the BIG advantages queries had over the planning layouts of BPS, seems to be gone. I mean, using navigational attributes for filtering; if we have to always have a single value restriction on a nav. attr., this will really be restricting. Is it expected that this will be changed in a later SP?
And there is another problem that is coming due to this. When I use the exclude filter and also the nav. attr. Status in rows, then the query becomes input ready, but there are warning messges displaying when the query opens saying -
Characteristic Customer has no master data for "C1"
Characteristic Customer has no master data for "C2"
etc... (these are the customers with status D). We are on SP15.
Please suggest what should I do to get rid of these messages?

Enable to open query in sap bw analyzer .

I am getting problem while opening a query in analyzer it is giving error like this.....
warning hierarchy bus area hierarchy kota 000000000 is not available for infocube
abort system error in program cl_rsr_hierarchy_buffer and form -incl_read_db-1- and also i tried in bex designer...when i go for execute it is saying the addres path is not correct.
Please help me out regarding this error...

Hi,
Hope you're doing fine.
Check if your query is using a hierarchy. Probably the H table of one of the hierarchy is empty.
You have to detect which one is, delete and reload.

Error when open query designer

Hi people when i try to open query designer on my dev system i have some message. In the query designer appears two STOP error that tell to me ther's a dump in system. On system on st22 the dump is this:

If you are getting the same problem while opening queries on other systems like Quality and Prod, then I think it must be your Frontend installation problem. 
Please re-install the Business Explorer. 
However if the problem is occuring only when you work in Development, then please take help from your BASIS Team. There must be some RFC setting issue which BASIS would be able to resolve with your help.

Problem of openning the queries.

Dear experts,
I have a problem in openning the existant queries.
The BEX analyse shows the infomation as "No entry" when i tried to open a query.
And then i did some tests. I found that
when i delete a query, (ex:
Name: BtoB: Search for the new materials
Technical Name: BPS_Test_V001.)
And I then open another query and modify it and to save it again as
(BtoB: Search the new materials
Technical Name: BPS_Test_V001) . The system allow me to save it like that(i changed a bit the query's name). But after i close it, i could not open it again.
Did anybody also meet such problem? And why?

we have been facing such kind of issues that were caused by technical names / descriptions that were too long. Please try to save with short description / technical name, maybe you can now open your queries. This issue can be fixed with some additional .dll...

We are facing the same issue for Query Designer .When opening a query, we get the following error :"Terminate:Unexpected Error:BExOpenSaveServices - GetNodes:RFC Exception".
As usual, Basis folks say, RFC connections are fine.
Not sure of the main problem.Can any one tell me , whats the solution for the same.
FYI, I have SAP_ALL authorizations and I think, for my user id , authorization is not a problem.

Strange problem when opening word doc situated in WLS virtual dir

we have a strange problem when opening word doc
situated in C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\forms\webutil
we put some word docs there and tried to open from forms using for example web.show_document('http://wp0606:9001/forms/webutil/mug00103.doc', '_blank');
no problem using FF, however in IE8 the word doc is shown in its binary format, this also happens when we try to open the doc in IE8
however when we google and search for instance for a test.doc and then click on this url a file save dialog is shown
that's why we believe that this might be due to a configuration issue of WLS
any help would be greatly appreciated

I think you have 2 ways to go here. Figure out what html is from wherever weblogic gets it, meaning you have to delve into the docs, snoop
around in directories and find what it must be sending (This is going to be unavoidable if you are going to change what weblogic is doing.
Sooner or later you have to try to figure out where it gets this stuff from)
or
you can experimentally snoop on your url with a tool like wget or curl. These are fundamental web tools.
The latter is always a useful thing to be able to do. (you need to formulate a query to get the content-type).
Whoever managed to get weblogic to serve any files in the first place probably can figure this out.

In Selection Tab, following operations are performed :-
Execute a query and mark it as 'Set A'.(Say Hit list = X)
Execute another query and mark it as 'Set B'.(Say Hit list = Y)
In Set operation Tab, following operations are performed :-:-
Carry out an Operations 'Set A minus Set B'.
which results in Resulting Set = Z.
Transfer the resulting set 'in hit list' and press the copy resulting set button.
In Selection Tab, Hit list is populated with Z.
And when output button is pressed, I get to see 'Y' list and not 'Z' list.
