Problem with passing dashboard prompts
Hi All,
I have a problem with passing dashboard prompts.
Scenario:
I have a report with country(column interaction),amount sold and two prompts.when the user selects the particular country, i need to navigate to other detailed dasboard with 2 prompts and country.
with the column interaction, am able to navigate to other dashboard with all the prompts only when the target dashboard prompts, defaults to presentation variable.
but when the user directly opens the target dashboard, i have to display the report with the default values which am not able to achieve.
All the prompts are customized prompts.
Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

When you drill down, corresponding filter values get added to your report. So next time when you change the prompt values It does not give you proper data.
So before you change the prompt values, you comeback to the default report. and try changing the prompt values.
Otherwise you can do one thing, Do not enable drill in place for the report section. So when you try to drill down in the report, it takes you to the new page.
And in the main page even if you change prompt values, It will work perfectly.

Install problem - SAP Crystal Dashboard Design, departmental edition
I download a departmental edition trial version and I tried install it.
When finish a message said the installing was fine but then apears another message "Missing installdir reg key for installinverse, required for uninstall.
Key: SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Installer\aurora
Value: Path"
Then another message saying a Runtime Error.
I have a windows 7 ultimate 64 based with a 2010 SP1 Office 32 edition.

AV sync problems when rendering Quicktime in PE 8
I have a simple problem when rendering to Quicktime format fromPremere Elements 8: The AV sync goes out of whack.
I have tried rendering:
(a). To MPEG - output is fine.
(b). To WMV - output is fine.
(c). MOV - av sync errors
I am assembling about five clips. The first clip plays fine. The AV sync problems starts at the second clip - the audio is a good 3 seconds or so ahead of the video.
Everything is fine in the editing window.
I am running in Windows 7. To make sure it is not the player, I have played the quicktime output in Windows Media and itunes and the same problem is in both.
Has anyone seen this issue?

Sorry for the confusion. It a sensible suggestion to identify the input formats and output formats and I would most appreciate your inputs to this issue because I admit that I am really struggling here to get a workflow going.
Input formats:
1. MJPEG 1280x720P at 24 frames per second (from a Panasonic Lumix Camera)
2. WMV 1280x720P at 24 frames per second from output of other programs (which only support wmv output at High def output)
3. MPEG2 1280x720P at 24 frames per second (and sometimes 25 frames per second) from other sources
Target output formats are:
1. Blu-Ray
2. MP4 container format @ 1280x720P for playing on my Apple TV
3. DVD (ordinary plain PAL DVD at 720x576P at 25 frames per second)
My goal is have Pre Elements 8 Project settings in High Def and then to simply target all three outputs from one project so that I do not have to redo all of the projects with different project settings.
Workflow is in two stages:
Step 1 is to create one project for each Chapter and save to disk: The inputs are from all three input formats that I identified above (High Def - MJPEG, WMV, and MPEG2). I would like to edit, mix the audio, and then save each chapter to disk. The format in which I save this is preferably some kind of high def format that can be edited easily at a later time.
Step 2 is to create the Project that is used to assemble each chapter for final output: This is the project where I put in Chapter marks, create menus, etc. The target outputs from this chapter are Blu Ray (high def), AppleTV (high def), and PAL DVD (Standard def).
In all cases, I set up my Project Settings as HDV-AVI for internal rendering because all inputs are high def and most target outputs are high def.
Issues that I am dealing with:
1. I cannot figure out the best export format to go from Step 1 to Step 2. HDV-AVI doesn't seem to be available as an export format. Basically, I am looking for an export format that puts the least strain on resources when they are read in for Step 2 and retains the highest quality.
2. Most of my inputs are 24 frames per second but the internal rendering for Pre Elements 8 seems to be 25 frames per second. Frame rate conversion can be quite tricky and can put significant strain on resources, but it is not clear if this is straining Pre Elements 8 or not. It does seem to be. I am happy to convert my files into a format that puts the least strain on Pre Elements 8 internal rendering and yet produces the best output.
Note: If you ask - why do I do this in two steps? It is because I am always putting a strain on system resources when operating in high def. Unless I am careful, I get a message that Pre Element is "low on resources" followed by a crash shortly thereafter. I have Win7 32 bit, 4 GB RAM, no other programs running, all drivers updated with the most recent version (yes - even the NVIDIA driver) so there really isn't anything else that I can do in this area.
So I am looking for suggestions in the following areas:
1. An alternative workflow that produces the three high def outputs with the three high def inputs defined above that doesn't cause Pre Elements to continually go low on resources and crash.
OR
2. A recommendation for a high def format that puts minimal strain on Pre Element resources?

Problems with rendering quality in Premiere Elements 9
Hello, I've made a few videos with PE 9 now, and I get very poor quality rendering despite trying several different settings. I saw on a help thread earlier that I needed to try changing to HD when creating the new file from the beginning. I did that, but it only made my PE 9 run more slowly, and the rendering quality was not improved. I also read somewhere that using .MOV files as a source can cause problems with rendering; is that true? I hope not! I use a Lumix bridge camera for my videos, and the video quality is very good. And when I'm working with these videos within PE 9 the quality is great. It's only when exporting to various file types that the quality suddenly becomes poor. For the most part I have made compilation videos of gymnasts, and when their legs move they are often so lined or pixelated that they become invisible. The sequences I took in my compilation video start at about 20 seconds in the source videos.
Youtube does reduce the quality of the videos slightly, but in any case you can definitely see a difference in quality between the source videos and the PE 9 rendered compilation video.
I'm quite disappointed because I made a longer compilation video set to music (which was a lot of work), and it looks so much nicer on PE 9 than on any of the rendered formats, but of course I can't share the PE 9 version!

ChlesteThanks Steve. I'm not sure what resolution I'm shooting in, actually. However, the thing is that when I make these compilations, I like to go back to source videos I've made in the past sometimes. Sometimes these videos come from a Canon camera, and sometimes they even come from my Samsung mobile telephone. I like being able to creatively combine historic moments, and these moments might have been recorded without any intention at the time of making a compilation video. Is it not possible to combine several kinds of video sources?

I opened up the file for the compilation of the four girls on the beam (video posted in original message), and I do indeed see those red lines in the timeline. Is there anything I can do now about that, or do I have to start the project all over?
I'm confused about the processor requirements. Even if I can see my video perfectly in PE 9, the actual export process will be affected if my system is not up to par? If so, that's a bit disappointing! I'm not sure what my processor details are, but I will find out and let you know.

Problem while rendering report generated with iText API

I am stuck with problem of rendering report generated through iText API.
What exactly happens is, I have to put an image (.jpg) on my report, when I am generating HTML file using iText API, the image size is normal i.e., as it is taken.
But when I render it to take print through printer, the size of image is getting short i.e., it prints like an Icon on Paper. What can I do to get the proper image size on paper also?

Problem when rendering a report in BI Publisher deployed on Apache Tomcat

First, I am going to tell you technical specifications about the software where I have deployed BI Publisher:
1. OS: Windows XP SP3
2. JDK and JRE: 1.6.0_24
3. Apache Tomcat: 5.5.33 (Set JVM Max Memory in 768MB)
4. BI Publisher EE: 10.1.3.4.1
I have deployed BI Publisher on Apache Tomcat without any problem, I uploaded Report files (both XDO and RTF), and I can see the reports in XML output format, but when I try to see the reports rendered by using the rtf file I have configured, BI Publisher shows me an Error; I checked the Apache Tomcat log and the following error is reported:

Ps CS6 Problem: Incorrect rendering of pasted Adobe Illustrator vector objects

Problem: Ps CS6 incorrectly renders vector objects pasted from Adobe Illustrator. CS5.1 does not exhibit the problem.
Below is screenshot of artwork in Illustrator and which is copied to clipboard, followed by screenshot of "Paste as Smart Object" in Ps CS5.1 then screenshot of same paste in CS6. "Paste as Pixels" gives identical good rendering in CS5.1 and poor rendering (gray pixels which should be pure white in this example) in CS6. This is repeatable with other artwork.
Several weeks ago there was a complaint in this forum that Photoshop CS6 poorly renders vector artwork that is pixel-aligned in Illustrator. The Adobe response was that Photoshop is correct. Strange that CS5.1 can render pasted vector artwork perfectly and only CS6 makes a mess.What's the explanation for the following sequence?
1. Paste as Smart Object, at moment after pasting and before clicking the commit icon (no transform was made) in options bar. The object is rendered pixel-perfect.
2. After the commit. The object is poorly rendered with gray pixels which should be white.
3. Press Cmd+T for transform mode. The object is rendered pixel-perfect again.
4. After canceling transform mode, the object is poorly rendered again. -

I need to render a XDP File with XML File to produce a PDF Document.
I came to know that there are 2 Serivce's which i can make use of it..
1.generetePDF
2.renderPDFForm
Service : generatePDF
When i tried using this Service i got the PDF File..but its a Static PDF File.. i can't Edit the PDF File.
I want a PDF file which i can EDIT Manually..
And i want to know how to use renderPDFForm Service to generate PDF from the given inputs both xdp and xml file.
Please help me out to solve this problem....!

You have to use renderPDF service if you wish that dynamic interactive pdf form will be the output of your process.
Set the name of your xdp template in the "Form to Render" field, name of the xml file data as a "Form Data" and enter the path to your template as "Content Root URI".
In the output section set the name of the variable to hold the rendered document in the "Rendered Form" field.
Note that the path should be started with: "repository:///" and then the path to your template.
For example if the name of you tempate is form.xdp and it is located in Forms folder of your repository, you should set form.xdp as Form to Render and "repository:///Forms" as Content Root URI.

Problem with rendered attribute in jhs 10.1.3.3
We are currently trying to migrate our applications from jhs 10.1.3.2.52 to jhs 10.1.3.3.87 using jdeveloper 10.1.3.5. We are facing a problem with all the detail groups structured inside detail group regions - they have all disappear from the pages.
In my example code i have two master-detail groups Products (Master) and ExpertiseAreas (Detail) on the same page:
Products - Group
-> ExpertiseAreasDtl - Detail Group Region
-> ExpertiseAreas - Group (Samepage="true")
The problem is that the detail group ExpertiseAreas is not rendered on the page.
As i looked in through the pages generated by the 2 different releases of jhs using the same app definition, i can see the following:
CODE GENERATED FOR THE ExpertiseAreasDtl Detail Group Region (all the vms used are the default):
in jhs10.1.3.3.87:

First of all a rendered attribute is being generated in the new version of jhs and not in the old.
The real problem seems to be with the iterator binding generated from verticalRegionContainer.vm in the regular expression: "#{(ProductsIterator.currentRow!=null and ProductsIterator.findMode!='true')}". It should have been *bindings.*ProductsIterator and not plain ProductsIterator. Has anybody got any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Problem with rendered tables in JHeadstart 10.1.3.3.87

We have recently upgraded from Jhs 10.1.3.3.52 to 10.1.3.3.87 (using JDev 10.1.3.4.0.4270) and have run into a problem with a window using regions. We have horizontal region containers, vertical region containers, stacked region containers and detail group regions. The tables in these containers/regions are not rendering at all. When I compared the .jspx pages of both versions of Jhs I noticed the 10.1.3.3.52 version had the following code (which works) as

Horizontal Scroll Problem in Rendering in After Effects
I am having a 30 minute video in which i need to ADD a horizontal scroll till video end, I made a JPG file of 6000px width and 40px height. Place it in a comp with horizontal scroll effect with -70 speed and adding this code in tile centre expression.

Now when i check it in Ram preview it works fine but when i render it via AME then it stopped somehwere like
8.20 minute - 13 minute
19.52 minute - 22 minutes
between this time scroll doesn't work. Please help me how to solve this problem, It's really urgent for me I need to complete a project.I'm not sure what is going on but a better workflow may be to create the scroll as a separate AE comp by pre-composing it, then render and replace in your comp or add the scroll in Premiere Pro and render your deliverable from there.
It looks like you want the scroll to repeat. The repeat may be where the problem lies. Another approach would be to have your scroll move once, trim the layer to the end of the scroll, Pre-compose trimming the pre-comp to the length of the layer, and then either loop the pre-comp in your main comp using time-remapping and loopOut("cycle") in time remapping, or render and replace the pre-comp and loop the footage indefinitely in Footage Interpretation.
I tend to to simple title scrolls on Premiere Pro because it's so easy if it's just text and it renders a lot faster than from AE. -
Problem with rendering my project

today I tried to render my latest project in Premiere Pro CS6 to upload it to youtube. With an estimated file size of ~2 Gigabytes I started the rendering process and waited for it to finish (about 50 minutes).
After it had finished with rendering I checked the file and what I saw was a 35 Megabytes file with the worst video quality one can even imagine. What is wrong with my premiere pro -.-
I've put many time and effort in my project and now it doesn't render properly. The interesting thing is that the preview in the full resolution inside my premiere pro application looks way better than the rendering result. WTF!?
Later I tried the option "render workspace" which took just about the same time (about 50 minutes) and brought me 7 rendered video previews... summed up 40 Gigabytes.
I am like kinda mad and sad at the same time and really can't figure out what is wrong. Please help me.
Here are my Output settings:
H.264 codec
1920 * 1080
29,97 FPS
high profile and 5.1
Bitrate: I tried everything from 8 to 100 (output always about ~40 Megabytes)

and maximum render quality

I could just go ahead and render it in 240p same result... Its way off in points of quality even compared to the preview on the top right
I mean I am not using premiere pro for the first time and this is the first time that i have to encounter this kind of problem. maybe I should try to render some of my old projects to see if they too result in 45 Mb ****** videos.

Possible update problem with renderer
I'm using a renderer to update a table where I present mails polled from a mailserver. If there's only one new mail to get from the server there's no problem, but if I get more than one mail when I do the check the table looses information on the mails following the first in line. Ergo: the first mail is presented as intended but the following looses info in the table.
I too am having the same problem...my computer runs Windows Vista Business x86 as do the other computers here (that are all also having this problem). I am really getting tired of Adobe products failing this way. I purchased 3 copies of Acrobat Standard 9.0 for newer computers at my company and spent a month trying to get them JUST TO INSTALL. Now this? Ridiculous. I am going to try the manual download patch, but I am not holding my breath. Get with the program, Adobe!
