Problem in using LOV (List of values)

We created a folder 'Testing FCG' in the Business View Manager.
1) In this we created a new connection of TCD371 Database ( conn) ,
2) We created a new Data Foundation(DF)  using the existing connection and we added table 'cdhpmember' in the DF
3) We created a new business element(BE) using DF and we added the column like Firstname,Groupkey and Gendercode
4) We created a Business View (BV) using DE and we added DE to the BV
5) We created a LOV(Memkey) using BV and we selected memberkey field
6) We tried to implement the memberkey field into crystal report as a dynamic parameter
7) When we try to run the report we got the error like this
Promting failed with the following error message: 'Liat of Values failure: failed to get values. [Cause of error:CSELOVDataSource::setReportInstanceCUID The List of Values did not schedule sucessfully and must be re-scheduled.]'.
Error source : prompt.dll Error code: 0x8004380D
Could any of you give your input on this error?

It's happening in Crysatl Report designer tool. Not able to run the report. There's not point deploying it in info view.

  • Problem in using LOV for validation-JHS 10.1.3

    Hi all,
This problem was also noticed by Phil McDermott (Problem in using LOV for validation-JHS 10.1.3
I am following the demo and I noticed that the Use LOV for Validation functionality does not work on the browse page. However, it does work on the details page!
Another effect of this problem is that once you tried to validate on the browse screen, the lov button does not work anymore.
    Thanks, Joep
Just found out that is does not work when entering "ph" like suggested in the tutorial. When I enter "p" and then tab to the next field, the lov popup does show.

    Thanks for your reply Steven.
I had the same problem as Joep reported here, following the steps at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/jhstutorial/index.html#genandrunagain
    Your solution works for me.
The "completed version of the tutorial application" also has this issue:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/jhstutorial/MyDemo.zip
Are there any other known issues for this tutorial? Where can I find such errata list?
    many thanks

  • What is Delegated LOV (List of Value) ?

    Hi,
What is Delegated LOV (List of Value) ?
    Thanks

The delegate search option on the list of values properties presents the user with an empty list of values at query run time. The user enters search criteria to limit the number of values returned in the list of values.
To activate the delegated search option for a list of values, in the designer, edit the list of values properties on the object properties page of the object to which the list of values applies.
The delegated search is not supported for cascading lists of values.

  • Use of LOV (list of values) in UCM

    Hi.
Does anybody know if this can be achieved in UCM?
Sooner we'll have to deal with huge lists (thousands of values) that could affect performance. Using LOV instead of selected list would suppose a great enhacement and a clear way for a user to search, avoiding him the difficulties that suppose handling with that kind of lists.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi..
You can archive that with your VO.
In model project double click on sampleVO --> Attributes --> select relevan field --> press green + button for list of value --> select or Add list data source by pressing green + and Add relevant view accessors to shown state and country, finally edit UI hints as you want with adding state and country.
    hope this will helpful..

  • Orange mail software problem when using distribution lists : some lists cannot be used for writing e-mails. The problem does not exist when using Internet Explo

When writing an e-mail directly on the Orange e-mail service (not on Thunderbird) I am facing the following problem : some distribution lists cannot be used to complete the adressees. The same lists can be used without difficulty if I use Internet Explorer instead of Firefox. The Orange hotline told me that probably my Firefox version was not updated. Unfortunately I checked that, and apparently the automatic updating works. I have also updated the plug ins, without any result.

Please could you specify which webpage you mean ?
The process with Orange is the following :
    - 1. click on "Write an e-mail" on the mail webpage
    - 2. click on "To" to reach the Contacts which opens a new window
    - 3. click on "Distribution lists"
    - 4. click on the selected list then click on "add". The list appears ot the box corresponding to the addresses .
    UNTIL THEN EVERYTHING WORKS WELL
    - 5. click on the button "validate", which closes the window previously opened and normally
    - 6. reloads the initial page with the complete list on the line "To". Instead of that I get the last e-mail address I previously used .
    Question : at which step of this process should I try your suggestions ? I tried when the initial page was reloaded with the wrong address, but it did not work to get back the rignt distribution list;
Note that the whole process functions with OTHER Distribution lists. The only difference is that the problematic one has a larger number of adresses (62) however inferior to the maximum indicated by Orange (100).
I also remind that there is no problem when using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.
    Thanks for your help !

  • Problem in using LOV's (List of values)

I have created a few messageLovInput items on my OAF page. I have created a table based on a VO in the inline Lov region corresponding to each of the Lov items.
When I enter data manually in messageLovInput and then click the torch button besides it, it opens the inline region and usually queries the VO depending upon the input given in the field.
I have also set the Search Allowed property to 'true' for all the Columns of the table in the inline region of the Lov.
But in my case in few of the Lov input fields, when I enter the data and press the torch button, it goes into error.
The error is an oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException in which it shows the query of the VO along with a where clause.
Eg: If Column name in the query of VO is Employee_number(i.e this is mapped to the messageLovInput item where we enter the data), the error is :
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement:
select * from(the query of the VO) qrslt (where Employee_number like :5 )
The error: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01008: not all variables bound
as the above where clause is dynamically generated.
I am not able to get solution to this problem as this problem does not occur with most of the remaining messageLovInput items on the page. I have also matched the properties of all the Lov input items and have found them to be same.
Can u please provide some help in this issue?

  • Problem in using the list box

    hi,
i have developed a dynamic list box, in html using java script.i have taken two list boxes. the values of second list box depends on the value selected in the first list box. after selection i was moving to the next page, then after i was moving back to original page, then the value of the second list box is changing.so how to retain the value of the second list box.
    Help ASAP,
    thank you,bbye

Either store it in the session scope, or pass it as a (hidden?) parameter along the request.

  • DYNAMIC LOV (list of value)

    Hi all,
I have created a dynamic LOV using the sql statement:
    Select product_name A, product_code B from product.
Can I make this LOV more dynamic by putting where conditions?
    For example:
    Select product_name A, product_code B from product where status = &STATUS
&STATUS is a value from a given field as entered in a current form page.
Is this possible? or are there other ways to to this?
    Thanks

wow thats great sunil : )
Can I also reference the value of P7_ITEM_NAME in anotheR item name like P7_COMMISSION?
For example: I have two (2) item names: P7_SALARY and P7_COMMISSION
    P7_COMMISSION is computed as :P7_SALARY * 0.10
So I do not have to enter value in the item name P7_COMMISSION as it is derived from P7_SALARY.
Is this possible? if not why does LOV able to access it ; )
    Thanks a lot

  • Execute Query by using LOV (List Item)

    Hello Everyone,
I did research on how to use List Item with Query but i am still confused since i am a new to the FORM.
I have created a form where user enters
Start Date: -- this field user can just type the date
End Date: -- this field user can just type the date
Violence: -- this is my List Item (Drop down Menu) where user select the code
once they select the parameter i have created "Execute" button and it will give number of violence within the date range. the query is giving me right number or violence but then i need to drill down to details.
so i created a trigger when user double click on the number ( result number) it will pop up another window and display the details
    For example:f_name, l_name, ssn etc...
Now, my problem is when i double click on (Text Item) it. Its not giving me the number of records that i have get when i execute at the first by using date range and violance code.
This is the step that i have use:
when user click Execute button the PL/SQL code:
    Query_step1(:start_date,:end_date,:violations);
when user double click on Text Item once they have the number this is what i have used code for PL/SQL
    begin
         go_block('xxhc_hearings_rpt_v');
         set_block_property('xxhc_hearings_rpt_v',default_where,'hearing_result = '||'''TERMINATE'''||'and violation '||''||:violations||''||'and propose_term_dt between '||''''||:start_date||''''||' and '||''''||:end_date||'''');
         execute_query;
    end;
So please anyone can give me little direction that will be a great help.
    Thank You.

Use the system variable LAST_QUERY to check that you SQL is valid. Assign it to a temp field in the block and check it out.

  • Missing right parenthesis error when querying using a list of values

Would anyone know why this statement gives the ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis error..?
    SELECT FIELD_X
    FROM TABLE_Y
    WHERE FIELD_X IN (
    'AJD'
    'RED'
    'ADF'
    'MOI'
The reason why I wanted the AJD, RED, ADF, etc values on top of each other is because I need to add the single quotes around those terms in Excel before pasting them into the SQL statement (there are actually over 400 terms so above just shows a subset)

Fortunately the SQL syntax is documented in the SQL manual
    { expr [, expr ]...
    | ( [expr [, expr ]] ...)
Note the comma following each value in the syntax diagram and examples.

  • List of Values using WeCheckbox

I attempted to apply the same principles in using shared variables within a subreport to populate the values for WeCheckbox function. Although I was able to get the list of values to populate as desired, something strange happened when I tried to use the name of the variable within WeBuilder function. When I referenced the exact variable, it doesn't show up on the report. However, if I just use "Checkbox" in the WeBuilder function, everything displays perfectly. The obvious problem is that I can't capture the selected checkbox with a Submit button, as it never displays that it is capturing the user selected checkbox when passing parameters to the target report. Is it possible to use a list of values to populate the WeCheckbox function and also be able to pass the values to a target report?

    hello Eric,
i am not sure if i understand the issue. can you please change the WEBuilder's debugging mode to "2" so that it will display the url that it is generating...what is the url that is being generated and what is wrong with the particular url when the end user selects a checkbox and presses submit?

  • URGENT : List Of Values Validation problem

    Hello
I want to restrict my object(textfield) to not validate my LOV(List of Values) on certain values such as if the textfield contains the value 'ALL' the LOV should not be validated and if the textfield contains value other than 'ALL' then the LOV should vaildate...
Kindly guide me through this if any one knows what textfield trigger should i use or any other way is required for this purpose.
    Thanx.

The 'right way' to emulate LOV validation is to do the following:
Set autoskip on in your item, since you want focus to move to the next item.
Set LOV validation to NO for the item.
Write a When-validate-item trigger to do this:
If the value = 'ALL' or value is null then exit.
For the record group attached to the LOV:
If the record group is not populated, then populate it.
Loop through the record group to find a value matching the value entered. If one is found then exit.
If a value is not found, use show_lov to display the LOV.
If the user selected a value, then exit.
If user did not select a value, issue an error message, raise form_trigger_failure.
