Problem in UWL

Hi,
We have deployed ESS/MSS 1.0 business Package on EP 7.0. sp13
I am encountering problem in UWL. Whenever i click on any task in UWL, it displays following error :- Services is not started.
We had then change setting for sysstem >>WAS properties
in that if we give epserver :50000 .
then the leave request task is working .ie on click of the task open the task in the new window.
But then the ABAP WEBDYNPRO iview will stop working .(ie service cannot be find)
So it not possible to use both the things at a same time .
Since we are using only one system for the UWL and connecting to ESS and MSS in R/3
Usally in WAS properties we have to give R/3 server : 80XX

Problem in UWL Substitution Rules

Hi all,
    I have created a Substitution Rules for user X from user Y. when user X logins and accepts for user Y's rules but he is not able see the rule above his UWL.
   But when I create a rule for some other user U from user Y, user U is able to get the rule above the users U UWL.
   Did anyone faced the same problem can help to solve.

Have you ensured that the source person actually HAS items in their inbox?
Because of the way that task processing occurs you might also want to make sure that the source person hasnt already started processing the item. You should ensure that the task item is "released" in the backend - something as simple as opening the item could cause this. Once you open an item it is locked into your inbox - I dont believe from memory that these can then be substituted to someone else.
If all of that appears OK (and you can actually see the items mixed with your own) then I would suggest you check the properties of the iview and make sure that all "options" (like buttons etc) are turned on. In EP7.0 there is much more control over what is / isnt displayed to the end user. Those facilities (filters) you speak about "should" become visible when you have susbstituted items.

Problem with UWL

Hi All,
I have an issue from the Portal user that when he wants to nominate a person for receiving the notifications in his absense, he is actually not receiving them for a particular task.
But if the assignee tries to do it for all tasks then the nominee is receiving all the notifications.
Kindly let me know what is missing or what can be done for the solution.

For your so quick reply. I checked my UWL system object configuration. Its showing that system login is via SAPLOGONTICKET not by UIDPW.
After that we have maintained ITS Settings in UWL system.. so the previous problem is not coming now but a new problem is coming -
404 ERROR
SYSTEM COULD NOT FIND THE RESOURCE.
Please try to help on this as i have already deployed the applciation and without UWL link its running fine in the system.

Problem with UWL substitution - ASAP

Hello,
When creating a Manage Subtitution Rule we have the button to create rule and delete the record. In this i would like to disable the delete button only.
The property option in UWL iview is to disable both create and delete button.
So can anyone help me to figure out a solution to this problem as the delete button would delete my record from the table which we donot want.
Is there any alternative to save all the substitution records even after deleting them.

The template you used is different.
Try to create a java webdynpro iview and in the package you will find substitution application variant.
After creating the iview open the preview and here you can use CTRL plus right click and personalize.

ESS/MSS problem with UWL

We are using ESS/MSS within the Portal 7.0 SP 14. The SAP Backend which we are using is ECC 6.0.
SSO between the Portal and Backend works efficient.
Problem
There are some issues when using the Universal Worklist. All tasks appear in our Universal Worklist from the Backend. Unfortunately, when trying to open any task we are facing the following error:

Following steps have been followed up
The URL parameter of the resource "Employee_travel_tripform_srv05 has the value "sap_xss_tra_UsePdf=true"
The iView "Display Trip Form" has the application parameter "sap.xss.tra.UsePdf=true"
Question
When a task is opened from the Universal Worklist, the Trip Form must appear in PDF Form.At this stage the iview "Display Trip Form" opens but shows the error mentioned above.
Is there anyone who could help us out?

Again thank you for your response. We have checked the workflow *WS90000013*, and you are right; it is a customized workflow.
As we already mentioned, we are using a &BUS2089&.
In this &BUS2089& there are the elements: &TRIP.EMPLOYEENUMBER& and &TRIP.TRIPNUMBER&
Unfortunately it is not possible to delete &BUS2089&. Deleting the &BUS2089& will cause a lot of problems for this total Workflow.
UWL iView
For the UWL iView we are using the XML file "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.xml" that comes with the ESS/MSS business package.

Problem wih UWL iView

I am facing a strange problem. In portal when I use a UWL iView the UWL item is shows one day behind in portal. In R/3 the date is perfect. I checked the dates in R/3 and Portal system and they are same.

Problem Configuring UWL

I am having problem showing task from UWL in SAP gui, when i click on the show tak in sap, it takes me to the main sap screen in gui, but not to the task, does anyone know what are the parameters have to be set on the ITS, and WAS.

in the end, I had to create an OSS message. They told me that there is a view configuration setting "emphasizedItems", which is set to "unread" for SAP office mails by default.
To get the actual amount of unread/new items, I had to change this property to "new".

You have to change this value and upload a new configuration XML file, clear de UWL cache and it's done.

Problem changing UWL Workitem check

Hi,
I am working with ESS/MSS package .
I want to change the workitem text for WS12300111. When the approver rejects the leave request, it comes into the employee's inbox as "process leave request by employee".This workitem text is very vague.
So i wanted to change the workitem text to "Leave request Rejected by Manager".I changed it accordingly in the WS12300111 Task TS12300116 workitem text "Leave request rejected by manager". The change is reflecting in the backend.
Unfortunately, when the leave is being rejected by the approver and coming to the UWL inbox , it is still showing "process Leave request by employee".
Can anyone tell me what to do to vhnage the test in the portal too.

I have copies the standard workflow WS12300111 and changed all the Agent Assignments to General Tasks.
In the Task TS0000121 ( Where Employee get the Re Submission Request), Agent Assignment is not happening when the Manager Rejects the Leave. How can I solve this problem ?

Task Launch Configuration Problem in UWL

Hi All,
I have added some new entries in the SWFVISU in my Backend with the visualisation parameters.
Now when I go back to my UWL configurations and re-register the system, the new conigurations
are not reflected in UWL System Config.
This was perfect before the system went down for patching. After the system was up again,
this seems like the UWL Config is not getting updated for any changes done in Backend in SWFVISU.
What may be wrong ? Please thorw some light on this.

Problem with uwl overview

I wanted to display an summary of the UWL in the portal first page so I add the uwl iview and choose "overview" in the property "UWL Navigation Style" but when I display it in the browser some of the times I get the number of new tasks (Tasks (11 New / 14) ) and some of the times I don't get (after logging off and on with the same user).
Does anybody has an idea how can I get the number of new tasks all the time?

I am using a copy of the iview
In pcd:
Content provided by SAP->End User Content->Standard Portal Users->iViews-> --> com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.iviews --> Universal Work list.
I notice I sometimes don't see the summary (i.e. Tasks (11 New / 14) ) even when I'm in regular mode and not in overview mode. Weird,no?

Problem in UWl Iview transport

Dear Experts,
This is Raji.I am trying to tranport the UWL page and UWl iview.I ahev added these objects to Transport Package. If i click on Export button , i can see the added PCd objects are nothing. I can see only the blank transport package.
Steps performed :
1. I have copied the standard UWL iview in to my own folder as a copy( not the delta link).I have changes the iview properties according to my requrirement.
2. I have copied the standard UWL page also in to my own folder and assigned my above customized UWL iview to this page.
3. added these objects to Transport Package clicked on Export. ...................> now there are no PCD objects availble in the transport package.

hi Raji,
This is because you have to change the id of the iview, page and roles which is to be transported.
Merely copying the standard (iview/pages/roles ) into the custom folder will not help.

A problem about UWL substitution and GP

Hi, Guys.
Can UWL substitution mechanism also include gp task? I have some gp tasks in my uwl. When I set someone as my substitution, all of my tasks can be seen by my substitution(besides gp tasks). Is it a system restriction or just I need to do some configuration?

Web Dynpro ABAP Workflow Attachment Problem in UWL

I am writing a custom application.
A workflow is supposed to start by a Web Dynpro ABAP Application.
The user can attach files to it.
A superior is supposed to review the files and either approve or reject the request.
I tried the following in Web Ddynpro ABAP:

The Workflow has onlay one user decision step and one notification Step.
In the user decision step, there is a binding from ATTACHOBJECTS to the task.
But, in the log, you can see the attachment in the Workflow Container of the workflow instance, but you don't see it in the task (neither Inbox nor UWL)
Anyone has a suggestion?

You need to update all task items one by one with the attachment - you need to identify all tasks and attach it to each one

Typical problem with UWL

Hi All,
We are having two systems MDM and ECC. We want all item from different systems should come to same UWL. It is working fine for users having access to both the systems. It is not working for them having access to one system only.
Suppose user is having access to MDM system buy not the ECC system. Then user is getting the error for ECC, portaldestinationsserviceexception User is missing credential for connecting alias ... The error is very much logical because they do not have access to ECC system. How to deal with the error?
My requirement is every user should get everything in one UWL. People having access to one system is getting the error for other system. If I create two iview the my ultimate motto to get everything in one UWL is lost.

Hi Raktim,
Here's what you can do :
1. create one role for MDM users (UWL_MDM for instance)
2. assign this role to MDM users
3. edit the UWL systems used for MDM and paste the id of the UWL_MDM role in the User Roles field
(in System Administration > System Configuration > UWL & Workflow > UWL Administration)
Do the same for the ECC system.
Users with the UWL_MDM role will have access to the MDM work items, users with UWL_ECC role will have access to the ECC work items and users with both roles will have access to MDM and ECC work items. And the error messages won't appear anymore.

WD java application in UWL link has authentication problems !

I am facing a starnge problem in UWL. I am trying to open an WD Java application upon clicking of UWL workitem. In the WdDoInit() method I have RFC present in R3-HR system. but Rfc execution could not be done when I click UWL work item and it opens in a new window. When I execute same application from place like through an Iview, it works fine. I feel WD_MODELDATA_DEST tickets are not being passed .
for the work arond I made application prperty Authentication to true. When I opens for the first time , application hits rfc n fetch out data. but strangely on the second time onwards it prompts me for user authentication.
Kindly give me possible solutions .

1. Have you done the all the visualization settings in SWFVISU?
2. If yes then did you re-register the server you are using?
2. Are you able to view the WDJ view while clicking the link in UWL?
and one more thing WdDoInit() will execute only once.
