Problem installing Premiere Elements 11

Hello,
I have a new computer.  I can install photoshop 11 and it works fine.  When I try to install premiere elements, it starts loading the installer and quickly stops, giving me only a window with status of the windows installer (same screen you see if you run msiexec).    This is win7 64 bit.  I have used this install disc on one other win 7 machine and installed both photoshop/elements fine, so there is nothing wrong with the disc.  I get the same problem if I try to download a trial version of elements.   I have directx 11, however as another test I started install on another machine with directx11 and it was working.   So... I'm not sure what is preventing the install.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm still getting the same message.  It start to load windows installer then a window pops us with text starting with
Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.7601.17514
msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter] ........  and other test similar to display from msiexec.
I get this message whether I install from disc or a downloaded trial version.
However only certain programs are a problem.  I was able to install Photoshop and quite a few other applications.   The difference between Photoshop and Premiere Elements could be a clue.
Thanks

  • Problem installing Premiere Elements 7

I'm trying to install Premiere Elements 7 and it keeps rolling back the actions and I can't install the software. The indicator bar appears to reach the end and then it stops and doesn't complete the installation.
I've tried to load the software on 3 different computers with the same results (2 computers at school & 1 computer at home). I've used a Dell GX270, Dell Precision 390, and a Dell Precision 840 with no success.
Each time, I've accepted the agreement, it configures the .Net framework and starts to load. After a few minutes, it stops and will not complete the installation on any of the computers.  Operating System: Windows XP

Should you have a bad installation disc, then contact Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support), as Adobe offers replacement discs. Now, I do not know how far back these go, as PrE is now up to version 8, but version 7 should be available.
Other than that, you and John have covered all the tips that I can think of for installation. For earlier Adobe programs, one could do two other things, but I'm not sure if either applies to PrE 7. They could copy the DVD to the Desktop and install from there, or also install in Safe Mode. I know that later versions of PrPro do not allow for Safe Mode installs.
    Good luck,

  • Problems installing premiere elements 12

i bought a laptop with photoshop elements 12 and premiere elements. i installed photoshop but i cant install premiere elements. give me the steps to follow to install it pleaseeeee

    Let us try the following....
    1. Run the free ccleaner (regular and registry parts)
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    2. Assure that antivirus and firewall(s) are disable for the following. Download and install the free tryout of Premiere Elements 12 from the following web site.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
Be sure to carry out carefully the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" to avoid an Access Denied message.
a.. during the installation you can insert your purchased serial number into those installation files.
    b. during installation use the default location on the Local Disk C for the program
Does that work, so that you see Adobe Premiere Elements 12 in Control Panel installed program as well as its
    Adobe Premiere Elements.exe found under
    Local Disc C
    Program Files
    Adobe
    Adobe Premiere Elements 12
and in the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Folder scroll down to Adobe Premiere Elements.exe to verify its existence there.
    Miscellaneous
Please remove that Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Folder from
    Local Disk C
    Program Files
    Adobe
before you start any of this.
To be explored later - if necessary.
they say "the file will be moved in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 12"
i go to the file location and theres nothing. am i missing something or its just not working?
We will be watching for your progress.
Any questions or need clarification on any of the above, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Problems Installing Premiere Elements 10

I have already tried all the things I could find in various forums, hopefully someone can help! I have the Combo Pac PSE10/PRE10, that I want to install on a new HP, running Windows 7, with plenty of ROM, Hard Drive space, Processor speed, etc. PSE installed fine. However, when I try to install PRE10, I get through the first few steps and then I get to a Windows Installer dialog box which contains a bunch of psuedo code - various options and associated parameters. The only button on this dialog box is "OK". When I click "OK", the dialog box goes away, but nothing happens. I have tried running the installer as admin, installing in Safe Mode, and copying the files from DVD to a folder on my Hard Drive and running the installer from there. Nothing works. Any advice or help much appreciated!

I just did a complete uninstall reinstall of Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7 64 bit.
At now time did I see the Windows Installer dialog that you show in your first screenshot. What you see there is indeed representative of the Windows Installer for Windows 7 64 bit. I have the same when I run cmd and execute msiexec. What you have agrees with what I have so I am assuming we are both up to date version and option wise for the Windows Installer.
When you insert the installation disc in the burner tray, are you greeted by a dialog which offers Run AutoPlay.exe? If so, are you clicking on that? If so, you should be seeing the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 -Install Shield Wizard requesting you set a language for your program. The Windows Installer dialog that you show is never seen from start to finish of the Premiere Elements 10 Windows.
You probably have, but in case you have not...please see if anything in the following helps.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html
I am still thinking about this, but you might want to pass the details by Adobe Chat to see if it can get you beyond that Windows Installation dialog which I do not believe should be there.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=downloading-installing -and-setting-up
When the link opens, click on "I still need help" to get the Adobe Chat pop up. It may have some undocumented information that may resolve the issue quickly.
What you might want to try beforehand is running the ccleaner (regular and registry parts) and then trying the install.

Please review the above. We will be watching for your progress.

  • Problems installing Premiere Elements 9

I have recently bought a new PC (windows 7 64 bit). I have successfully installed a number of programs that have previously been on the old PC running XP, including Photoshop Elements 9. When trying to install Premier Elements 9 however it loads ok until the Templates section and I get two error messages " Windows Installer Service could  not be Accessed......" and  "The installation process has encountered a an error whilst installing MXSML. I have successfully loaded other programs since trying to install Premier.
    Any suggestions anyone?

  • I have a problem installing Adobe elements premiere 9 using windows 8.1

I have a problem installing Adobe elements premiere 9 using windows 8.1, it just says that it did not install and no files were changed. is this program compatible or is it yet another bin job?

    miked
I have Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 installed on Windows XP 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, as well as Windows 8.1 (previously 8) and no problems.
Are you installing the program from installation files (purchased as a download to a Windows or Mac computer??) or from installation disc labelled for Windows?
After the program is installed, then you install the Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Update and work from it.

  • Msiexec error when installing Premiere Elements

I had a very disappointing time with support and still cannot install my new copy of PS Premiere Elements.
I downloaded the softare. Installed the PS Elements. It was smooth.
I then tried to install Premiere Elements and it does not work.
When I started the .exe it asked for a place to extract files. I did this. Then it tried to install. But after a while I get this box with the msiexec commands listed in it. Eg.
    Windows ® Installer. V 3.01.4001.5512
    msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter]
    Install Options
                    </package | /i> <Product.msi>
                                    Installs or configures a product
                    /a <Product.msi>
Administrative install - Installs a product on the network
                    /j<u|m> <Product.msi> [/t <Transform List>] [/g <Language ID>]
Advertises a product - m to all users, u to current user
                    </uninstall | /x> <Product.msi | ProductCode>
                                    Uninstalls the product
    Etc etc etc.
And then finished with an error that it was not installed.
I then manually clicked on setup.exe I then got a screen asking for language, but then I get a windows showing again options for using msiexec command.
When I try using the Adobe Premiere Elements 10.msi then i get an error
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Setup
Install Adobe Premiere Elements 10 using the setup.exe in the root folder.
I called support. They had me extract files into a folder off of  eg C:\PS
I did this. Started the setup.exe, Same error as above msiexec.
He then had me install it with the runas administrator. I tried same error.
He then told me to create a new account on the computer with admin privileges. I didn’t really like this, but  I did this . And restarted the setup but still same msexec error.
The support person said it was an admin error. Sadly I think he is wrong, he just read the message and quickly gave the first thing he could think of. I asked him why he felt that, and he said based on the error. However sadly I don’t believe he is understanding the “error” He saw the words  “Administrative install - Installs a product on the network” (see above) and quickly said oh its an admin problem. I didn’t realize at the time that this is not really an error message regarding the administrator, but just the output of a badly formed command, with a default output of a badly formed command.
    Let me explain..
What I believe is that somehow the script that is running the install is trying to run the msexec program and the output is simply the output of the msexec program when the parameters are not right. In fact if you open a dos prompt and type msiexec you get the exact same output. The error is not really an error but just the output like any other of a command with no perimeters. Like if you type defrag or copy from the command prompt with out the right parameters. The command gives a response. For some reason the support person saw the word “administrator” and quickly jumped to the conclusion oh its an administrator issue that was the error. The support person kept asking me if that was all and was definitely trying to get rid of me. It quite frankly was very disappointing that he didn’t know this how to resolve the issue and just wanted me to go away.
Can anyone tell me how to install this program. I am on a domain and have both domain and local passwords. Im using windows XP.
By the way I tried using
ok, i fnally was able to extract the files, enter serial numbers, and run the program, I'm testing the program now
the problem is adobe's fault, a faulty script or something on the dvd.
in my situation, to get this program installed, i decided to do the following:
    1) optional: copy the install dvd to hard drive.
    2) locate the adobe premiere elements 10.msi file.
    3) type in    msiexec /a "adobe premiere elements 10.msi" /qb TARGETDIR="C:\tempfolder"
    to unpacked the msi archive.
    4) go into the c:\tempfolder/programfiles/Adobe
    5) optional: copy or move the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 folder into your c:\Program Files\Adobe  folder so it sits with the rest of your adobe programs
    6) you have to make your own desktop icon
    7) when you go into the premiere elements folder click on Adobe Premiere Elements.exe to start the program
    8) it may tell you to download the Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager
so download it if necessary.  the ApplicationManager2.0_all.exe file will silently install.
this does work HOWEVER, it doesnt really install it with all the registry etc. and doesnt integrate it into the PSE. So I dont think this is really the right option.
Oviously it should install properly. (thanks anyway)

    Thanks Jeff for helping.
The version of the install software is definetely 32 bit. eg its PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.exe with the corresponding win32 zipped file.
BTW the fact that I can extract the files and then run the program as a stand alone program means I think? that it is the right version and can run on this computer. Its obviously an install issue it seems.
The version of XP i have is XP prof sp3 version 5.1 build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647
Based on your comment regarding the install version, I found and downloaded the 4.5 version of the msiexec software. Tried to install the PE again and got the same error ... EXCEPT that now the output comes from the 4.5 version instead of the previous version. eg.
    Windows ® Installer. V 4.5.6001.22159
    msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter]
    Install Options
    </package | /i> <Product.msi>
      Installs or configures a product
    /a <Product.msi>
Administrative install - Installs a product on the network
    /j<u|m> <Product.msi> [/t <Transform List>] [/g <Language ID>]
Advertises a product - m to all users, u to current user
    </uninstall | /x> <Product.msi | ProductCode>
      Uninstalls the product
    etc etc.
So obvously the new installer got installed, but still the install process doenst work.
    Any further ideas.

  • Exit Code 24 - Cannot install Premiere Elements 10

Having downloaded and installed premiere elements 10 i experienced problems with the program and especially the help facility which just didnt work.
I went ahead and purchased a full copy of the program in the belief that a fresh full install would resolve the problem.
However I am unable to either uninstall the faulty program or install the purchased item.
Instead it just states that photoshopserver must be stopped but even when i do this you cannot progress at all!
Any help would be much appreciated.
The installation is on an iMac running OSX Lion and everything is up to date.
I have uploaded a fault report package but have no idea how to link it with any reported error.
Exit Code 24 is all that gets reported when you have to cancel the install process which is the only option

    Brian,
I appreciate the clarification. I just got confused with the terms, and needed to know more. Now things make more sense to me, though I am troubled by perhaps the way that Adobe either designed, or implemented their installer module. Usually, the only trouble that one has with an Adobe installer is something fritzed in the OS, like the MSI module in Windows (there were many problems with one - think that it was on Vista - and MS fixed that), or just plain old OE, where one tries to run the installation routine for the Functional Content (Extras), before actually installing the program. Normally, they are very good, though there was one for an update to PrPro, that had to be pulled and reworked. The update feature worked fine upon release, but when Adobe packaged that update with an installation module, things got side-ways. It was pulled, and a new, re-written one was posted to Adobe.com in about 4 working days. Otherwise, it's normally easy, quick, virtually transparent, and no one has issues - that is what makes troubleshooting installation issues so tough - most of us never encounter them, and have to rely of "fixes," that we have read about. Sounds like there is an issue here.
Again, thank you for setting me straight.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Invalid serial number when I re install premiere elements 10

I am getting a message that I have a invalid serial number when I try to re install premiere elements 10. It is the correct number fropm the box.

    weeone001
That happened to me trying to install Photoshop Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit. In all my years of working with these programs, that was the first time that ever happened. Is your Premiere Elements 10 on Windows or Mac. I think that i remember some Mac issues in this regard.
Activation problems can only be corrected by Adobe, and John T. Smith's second link in post 1 can help you with that.
But, before you seek Adobe Chat, shut down the computer and try the installation again.
I was about to contact Adobe Chat, when the second or third time around, the serial number took. Servers issues??? Never did find out. And, I was not typing in the wrong numbers.
As an aside, if you have Premiere Elements 10 and NVIDIA video card, please let us know if you experience any unexplained display issues. There is an epidemic of such going around. The fix, for now, is to roll back the video card drive version. More on that as indicated.
Please update us on your progress.
    Thanks.

I have already installed premiere elements 11 and have tried to install photshop. throuble shoot told me to delete the two files and retry. I first installed Premiere Elements 11 and then next tried
to install Photoshop Elements 11. I had no problem with installing elements but
when I try to install photoshop I keep getting the following error message.
An error during setup causes the installer to roll back
    (Windows-only)
I next clicked on trouble shoot which sends me to Adobe
    website with the following instructions.
    When either one
of Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements is installed, and you try to
install the complement, an error occurs and installation fails. Setup proceeds
up to a point, and then an error occurs, and the installer rolls back. For
example, if you have Photoshop Elements installed, then Adobe Premiere
Elements doesn't install, or the other way around.
Follow this procedure to resolve this issue:
         1. Navigate to the location: C://Program Files(x86)/Common
    Files/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp
         2. Delete the files:
    PDAppFlex.swf
    PDAppFlex-app.xml
         1. Retry setting up the application that had
    previously failed to install.
I have tried this several times and in each case during the
install the very files that I was told to delete above and did are reinstalled
by Adobe during the install of Photoshop.
Elements and I end up with the same error message.

Please refer to your other thread on Adobe contact information for my comments on that.
It might be a good idea to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat to discuss "Downloading, Installing, and Setting Up". This does not prohibit you from continuing your Premiere Elements 12 issues here. The positive part about the Adobe contact is that, with the latest version, it may offer the opportunity for remote troubleshooting of your computer and the issue; whereas that is not possible in this user to user forum.
Lots of avenues to pursue...the usual drill...
    a. Problem antivirus and firewalls disabled?
    b. Running program from User Account with Administrative Privileges as well as Run As Administrator (from right click of desktop icon and Run As Administrator selection)?
    c. Latest version of QuickTime installed on computer with Premiere Elements 12?
    d. Have you ever gotten the program opened long enough to update it from 12 to 12.1?
    e. Video card/graphics card driver up to date according to web site of manufacturer of the card?
Please update us on your progress when you get the chance.
