Problem logging into iPlanet Calendar Server from pull-down menu in Communicator

When I run the iPlanet Calendar Server's cstool
utility and enter the command<BR>
<P>
cstool -p 80 ping name.of.server
<BR>
<P>
I receive the message<BR>
<P>
Calendar Server is up and running!
<P>
I can also access the LDAP service of the Calendar Server with no problem.
However, if I try to connect to this server using the pull-down menu for
Netscape Communicator 4.7 with Calendar, I receive the error message<BR>
<P>
The server is unreachable. Verify that the network is available and that the
server application is running.
<P>
To use the iPlanet Calendar Server client, point your browser at the client
port that was specified when the iPlanet Calendar Server was installed.
<P>
For example,<BR>
<P>
http://your_server_name:80
<P>
If you forgot which client port is specified, you can find the value for the
port number in the service.http.port
parameter in the server's
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/config/server.conf
file.

So if you accepted the defaults during the installation process who are the database users? ias_admin? system? sys? I've tried all and gotten ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied. These fail in the OEM console as well. I apologize in advance if the answer is embarassingly obvious.

    i have 3 mobileme addresses, a few of aliases, and 1 gmail account. my problem is this:
    when composing a new message, there are too many addresses the "from" pull-down menu, because mail includes both the .mac and .me versions of each of my aliases. so, instead of a list of 6 addresses, mail shows 10. furthermore, the addresses appear, in the menu, in a random order, making it even harder to find and select the address i need:

    Is it possible to use set_item_property to change something on a block item from a pulldown menu? I'm going to guess 'no', but it would be awfully convenient for me if there was a way around it.

  • Clear_form doesn't work right from pull-down menu on one form.

    Have a switchboard form called MAIN used to call other forms, FORM1, FORM2, and FORM3. 1-3 have buttons to return to the switch board that contain the following code, along with a pulldown menu item that is identical.

    EXIT_FORM;This works fine from both buttons and menus on FORM1 and 2. The button works fine on FORM3, but if i click the menu item, Forms displays a message box saying 'Close this form?' with a yes or no choice. 'Yes' does close the form, but why am I being prompted like this? It doesn't happen on the other forms.

    Look up the on-line help on both Clear_Form and Exit_Form. The one odd form has a block and record status that requires different action.
    Unless you really want to save some previously entered data, you should be doing a Clear_form(No_Validate, Full_Rollback), or the Exit_form should be: Exit_Form(No_Validate, Full_Rollback).
    The Exit_Form on-line help states (in the section describing the default "Ask_commit" commit mode):
    However, if RECORD_STATUS is INSERT but the record is not valid, Form Builder instead asks the operator if the form should be closed.  If the operator says yes, the changes are rolled back before the form is closed.

    If you are talking about photoshop.com, anyone who tries will get that error because there is no more photoshop.com. You should have received a bunch of emails about any photos there getting moved to Revel, but you can't use Revel from within the versions of PSE that had photoshop.com:

  • Problem logging into Workflow Designer

    here is my problem. Workflow 7.0 is installed on W2k3 EE (with Forms and Form Manager) via turnkey installation ( and is on Jboss of course). I've got four other computers in domain. All with XP. And only from one i can login into Workflow Designer. All computers has access to server (with workflow installed), and to server with AD. Workflow is integrated with LDAP (i see new users added in AD after synchronization). And the problem is: that i can log into workflow designer only from one computer. And on all users that have process developer rights i can also log (on that one and only computer). On all other computers i got the following error:

    i compared the size of workflow designer on my machine and on other and
    EUREKA, they are different, also i got some extra directories in workflow designer directory (but this is because of using janel trick), so i copy all extra directories and workflow designer exe to other machines and now it's working.

    i have an development issue with the iplanet calendar server 5.x.if i execute WCAP command storeevents.wcap as follows for storing an event

    in the calendar server the dtstart and the dtend for this event is as follows
    dtStart = 1019210400 (20020419T100000Z) [19-Apr-02 10:00AM GMT] (isDate = 0)
    dtEnd = 1019214000 (20020419T110000Z) [19-Apr-02 11:00AM GMT] (isDate = 0)
    NOTE : in the WCAP command i had specified the time in America/Indianapolis i,e 0500 hrs behind GMT(-0500) hence the server stores the dtstart & dtend in the GMT which is perfect as explained in the docs.
    Now for retreving the same event i execute the following command
    http://localhost:portnumber/fetchcomponents_by_range.wcap?id=n38tew98wbhhv95s&rid=0&calid=vt&tzid=America/Indianapolis&fmt-out=text/xml
    the result has the event details but the dtstart & dtend are in GMT and not in the America/Indianapolis timezone requested.

    NOTE : the Mime type requested in the WCAP is text/xml. the expected dtstart is 20020419T050000Z and dtend is 20020419T060000Z applied to the timezone specified in the tzid parameter(America/Indianapolis)

    docs says the following which is not true for retrieving the events.....
    For example, if a command such as storeevents or fetchcomponents_by_range
    specifies a tzid parameter, the parameter value must be a tzid that is defined in the list of 91 time zones. The server will return data in that time zone and all data will have dates applied to that time zone.If the command specifies an unrecognized tzid, the server will return a GMT timezone by default. All data returned on that command will have its dates applied in GMT.
    release notes has the following. i could not understand the point no. 1 could u please suggest me how to retrieve the event with dtstart & dtend values applied to the timezone supplied in the parameter tzid.
    1. The following seven commands now take an additional parameter, tzid:
    m deleteevents_by_id
    m deletetodos_by_id
    m fetchcomponents_by_alarmrange
    m fetchcomponents_by_lastmod
    m fetchcomponents_by_range
    m fetchevents_by_id
    m fetchtodos_by_id
    The value of tzid must be a time zone ID string, such as &#8220;America/Los_Angeles&#8221;. Note that these are not localized. If other ISO 8601 DateTime string parameters, such as rid, dtstart and dtend, do not have a &#8220;Z&#8221; on the end, this parameter determines the time zone to use.
    2. The following two commands, which already have the tzid parameter, have been modified:
    m storeevents
    m storetodos
    The value is no longer a quoted string, but is now a time zone ID string to match the acceptable values for tzid in the seven commands listed above.The default value of the tzid parameter in all commands is the server's default time zone. This is a change for storeevents and storetodos.

    I have found the solution! I post how I managed in case someone else has the same issue.
    You have to go to "Settings" -> "Settings Editor".
    There, there is a "display" entry.
    When you open the tree, you can see both of your displays (in my case, LVDS1 and VGA1).
    Under VGA1 (the "extra" monitor), there is a "Position" entry. There, you need to set the "X" variable to the last pixel of the other display resolution.
    E.g.: if you principal display is a "1366x768", then the "X" value will be 1366.
    You can also play on the "Y" if your screens are not horizontally aligned, but 0 should be fine.

  • ICal could not log into the caldav server

    I have a OS X Lion server that i am trying to set up for home. I have made an account for myself and have got mail running for it but when I go to turn on Calendars and Reminders, i get the error message iCal could not log into the caldav server "me.com". One I am not sure how this has anything to do with me but anyway, the mail compnent works. Also when i go to the folder webdav via browser servername/webdav/ i get permission denied. I also get and Unathorized message when I try to specifically access the calendar via adress https://servername:8443/calendars/users/username/ I mention the permission denied stuff because i am assuming they are all connected to the Calendar service (ie it runs on caldav which runs on webdav). can anyone help with this as I would like to get this working.

    One possiblity is that the user you created has not been granted access to the calendar service.  How did you create the user on the server, via Server.app?
    Are you able to browse to https://servername:8443/principals/users/username/    (of course substituting the appropriate server and user names)

  • Trying to log into a RDS server using cached credentials

    I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 with Remote Desktop Services installed and it is a member server in my domain.   As a test,  I have cut the network connection between the RDS server and the domain controller.   I can log into the
    RDS server at the console with my cached domain account,  but I can't RDP into the server with my cached domain accout.   It is telling me the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.   Does RDS sessions not
    use cached credentials ?    I have set the Group Policy Option: Interactive logon: Number of previous logons to cache (in case domain controller is not available) to 30.   That didn't seem to make any difference.  Thanks for any

    Hi,
    By default Network Level Authentication (NLA) will be used for RDP connections, and this requires the domain controller to be available.  If you needed to you could disable the requirement to use NLA in the collection properties and set a custom rdp
    property so that clients would not attempt to use NLA when they connect.  The downside of this approach is clients will never use NLA when connecting and instead will see a server-side log on screen, and may get multiple prompts for credentials.
    It is preferred to use NLA where possible, which in most cases it is since modern clients support it.

    Having said that, there are ppl who have installtion done on Windows 7 as well.
    I would say, check the services first if they are up and running or not. If yes, then logs should be the first place to visit.
