Problem naming table with schema prefix in Trigger

Hi,
When i try to compile the trigger having that body :
BEGIN
Insert into TechDb.DocumentTransfers(DocumentNumber, DocumentTypeID, StaffCodeFrom,
StaffCodeTo, TransferType, TransferDate)
values (:New.DocumentNumber, :New.DocumentTypeID, :New.StaffCode,
:New.StaffCode, :New.LastOperation, :New.DocumentDate);
END;
I get the following error :
Line # = 2 Column # = 4 Error Text = PLS-00201: identifier 'DOCUMENTTRANSFERS' must be declared
I noticed that the error disappears works if i don't need to prefix the DOCUMENTTRANFERS table with the schema name.
I am missing something ?
Thanks very much for your help.
Christian Moungou

Thanks John and Todd. It works exactly as you said.
But, does that mean i will have to directly grant the access right to all the users who will do the action which activates the trigger ?
Just to confirm : I assume that the user who executes the trigger is the user who does the action that activates the trigger ?

  • Training an SVM on table with schema flexibility fails

    Dear colleagues,
    I'm trying to train a Support Vector Machine on a table with schema flexibility.
    On a small test table with only a couple of columns both the training and the prediction using the PAL libraries work fine. However, on my large sparse table with more than 1000 columns and "schema flexibility" set at creation time, I constantly run into the following error:
    Could not execute 'CALL SYSTEM.AFL_WRAPPER_GENERATOR ('PAL_SV', 'AFLPAL', 'SVMTRAIN', PAL_SV_SIGNATURE)' in 30 ms 529 µs .
    SAP DBTech JDBC: [423]: AFL error:  [423] "SYSTEM"."AFL_WRAPPER_GENERATOR": line 32 col 1 (at pos 1346): [423] (range 3) AFL error exception: AFL error: registration finished with errors, see indexserver trace
    The indexserver trace gives me something strange like:
    AFLPM_SQLDriverObj.cpp(02439) : aflpm_creator : direction must be in or out
    As far as I see it, all parameters are fine, though.
    Is there a limitation that does not allow PAL functions to be executed on tables with schema flexibility? I suspect so, because I'm running into similar problems with the SUBSTITUTE_MISSING_VALUES function.
    Thanks for any help,
    Daniel

    Hey there,
    isn't there anyone who came across this issue? I'd love to know if this is a known technical limitation with tables that use the "schema flexibility" or rather a bug. In the former case, can anyone suggest a workaround?
    I'd be grateful for any help or any pointer to further documentation.
    Best,
    Daniel

  • Adding a document to XMLTYPE table with schema

    Hi all:
    I am doing an example to create a table with a
    registered schema associated (in Oracle9ir2), and i am
    trying to insert a document that fits to schema into the
    table.
    The example is very simple:
    I have the following schema:
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <element name="items">
    <complexType>
    <sequence>
    <element name="item" type="string" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </element>
    </schema>
    I succeed in registering the schema:
    begin
    DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.registerSchema(
    'http://localhost/items.xsd',
    getDocument('items.xsd'),
    TRUE, TRUE, FALSE, FALSE
    end;
    I succeed in creating a table with this schema:
    CREATE TABLE items of XMLType
    XMLSCHEMA "http://localhost/items.xsd"
    ELEMENT "items";
    And i have the following document:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <items xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2000/10/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://localhost/items.xsd">
    <item>Item1</item>
    <item>Item2</item>
    </items>
    But when i try to insert it into the table with:
    INSERT INTO items VALUES (XMLTYPE(getDocument('items1.xml')));
    (getDocument is exactly the same as in XML Database
    Developer's Guid[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

    truncated mail continuation...
    (getDocument is exactly the same as in XML Database
    Developer's Guide - Oracle XML DB Release 2 (9.2))
    I get:
    SQL> INSERT INTO items VALUES (XMLTYPE(getDocument('items1.xml')));
    INSERT INTO items VALUES (XMLTYPE(getDocument('items1.xml')))
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-19007: Schema and element do not match
    Do you know which is the problem?
    I have proved changing the headers of the xml document
    and schema in severals way, but it doesn't work.
    Could be a problem with Oracle configuration?

  • Calling table without schema prefix.

    I have a task to upgrade a form 6 and oracle 8 based system to form 6i and database 9ii.
    I notice in legacy Forms that other schema objects has been called in Select and Update statements without schema prefix.. like select * from tablename instead of select * from schemaName.tbalename
    Forms are not able to compile without schema prefix before table name.
    Is it happened in 6i or some thing is missing at database side

    ORA-600 are internal errors; you'd need to contact oracle support for it. Before you log a SR with support you might give the Ora-600 lookup tool a chance (metalink note 153788.1).
    But as Forms 6i and database 9i are rather outdated you might have a good chance that "update to a supported version" is the answer you get from support.

    The clue is in the error message: the OUTLN schema is missing.
    This is something Oracle 8i introduced to help manage the CBO (or soemthing equally geeky and internal). For some reason your database no longer has this user. It ought to be created automatically during installation (or upgrade) but catproct may not have completed probably or some over zealous admin type has dropped it.
    Solution is to re-install (or re-upgrade) as you cannot create this user on their own. Alas.

  • OracleCommandBuilder (with schema prefix)

    Hi,
    I'm using a simple SELECT command :
    SELECT * FROM mySchema.myTable
    Prior, I haven't use the schema and all has worked fine (with a CommandBuilder). Now I'm using the schema prefix and the generated SLQ for an update statment looks like :
    UPDATE myTable set myAttr = ... where ...
    The mySchema. is not used by the command builder to generate the update/insert/delete statment, so the table could not be found.
    Any idea how to set the command builder that it will use the schema prefix ?
    Thanks

    This has been identified as a bug in the provider. The fix would be available in the next release.

  • Problem parsing XML with schema when extracted from a jar file

    I am having a problem parsing XML with a schema, both of which are extracted from a jar file. I am using using ZipFile to get InputStream objects for the appropriate ZipEntry objects in the jar file. My XML is encrypted so I decrypt it to a temporary file. I am then attempting to parse the temporary file with the schema using DocumentBuilder.parse.
    I get the following exception:
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element '<root element name>'
    This was all working OK before I jarred everything (i.e. when I was using standalone files, rather than InputStreams retrieved from a jar).
    I have output the retrieved XML to a file and compared it with my original source and they are identical.
    I am baffled because the nature of the exception suggests that the schema has been read and parsed correctly but the XML file is not parsing against the schema.
    Any suggestions?
    The code is as follows:
      public void open(File input) throws IOException, CSLXMLException {
        InputStream schema = ZipFileHandler.getResourceAsStream("<jar file name>", "<schema resource name>");
        DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
        DocumentBuilder builder = null;
        try {
          factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
          factory.setValidating(true);
          factory.setAttribute(JAXP_SCHEMA_LANGUAGE, W3C_XML_SCHEMA);
          factory.setAttribute(JAXP_SCHEMA_SOURCE, schema);
          builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
          builder.setErrorHandler(new CSLXMLParseHandler());
        } catch (Exception builderException) {
          throw new CSLXMLException("Error setting up SAX: " + builderException.toString());
        Document document = null;
        try {
          document = builder.parse(input);
        } catch (SAXException parseException) {
          throw new CSLXMLException(parseException.toString());
        }

    I was originally using getSystemResource, which worked fine until I jarred the application. The problem appears to be that resources returned from a jar file cannot be used in the same way as resources returned directly from the file system. You have to use the ZipFile class (or its JarFile subclass) to locate the ZipEntry in the jar file and then use ZipFile.getInputStream(ZipEntry) to convert this to an InputStream. I have seen example code where an InputStream is used for the JAXP_SCHEMA_SOURCE attribute but, for some reason, this did not work with the InputStream returned by ZipFile.getInputStream. Like you, I have also seen examples that use a URL but they appear to be URL's that point to a file not URL's that point to an entry in a jar file.
    Maybe there is another way around this but writing to a file works and I set use File.deleteOnExit() to ensure things are tidied afterwards.

  • Question on Entity attribute for table with PK populated by trigger

    Hello,
    I am looking for guidance on setting up my Entity Object. I am working with an existing db where the primary keys for the tables ( ID Number(10,0) ) is populated by a trigger on insert. Should the attribute type for the ID column be Integer or DBSequence? I originally set it up as DBSequence but when I perform a CreateInsert() on the form, populate values, then Commit(), the ID value is not populated in the form. I put a ppr on the form also. I can see the row in the db using sqlDeveloper and it is populated. I tried turning on the "refresh after insert" flag on the entity but then received the exception "JBO-28203: The updated row cannot be refreshed because its key values are unset or modified by database triggers.". I would like the ID so after the form is saved I can refresh a tree control and set the current row to the new row.
    Using 11.1.1.6
    Thank you - Rudy

    Hi Timo,
    Thank you for the reply. I read the doc and that is how I had it setup originally. Two things I noticed when going to check the settings was that DBSequence was not available as a data type so I needed to Browse.. to select it. The 2nd thing was that the refresh on create was not automatically selected after selecting DBSequence. I searched a bit more and found this forum discussion:
    auto_increment field From that discussion I see my problem. I created my EO's using SQL92 and Java because I need to support both Oracle and MSSQL Server databases.
    This is unfortunate from my end so I will see if I can implement something similar to what is suggested in that post.
    Thank you
    Rudy

  • Insert performance on a table with schema based XMLType column

    Hi,
    We are inserting around 500K rows into a table which has one XMLType column (schema based). Schema is simple and the size of the XMLType column is also not very large (on an average only around 100 bytes (max might be around 1k-2k), but it takes around 1 hr for every 20K rows, which seems very slow.
    The schema is like this :
    <schema targetNamespace="http://www.citadon.com/xml/test.xsd"
    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xdb="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb"
    xdb:storeVarrayAsTable="true"
    version="1.0" elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <element name="cas">
    <complexType>
    <sequence>
    <element name="ca" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <complexType>
    <sequence>
    <element name="id" type="string"/>
    <element name="value" type="string"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </element>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </element>
    </schema>
    Any thoughts on how to improve performance?

  • Drop a lot of tables with same prefix

    Hello,
    can you help me to do a script for drop all tables that have same prefix = TEST_LINK_?
    thank you very much.
    crystal

    Hi crystal,
    Here's some thing to start on. It does not handle any FK constraints on those tables, and assumes that the executor is owner.
    declare
      pstmt  constant varchar2(255) := 'drop table :t purge';
      vstmt varchar2(255);
    begin
    for rec in (select table_name
                  from user_tables
                 where table_name like 'TEST_LINK\_%' escape '\')
       loop
          vstmt := replace(pstmt, ':t', rec.table_name);
          dbms_output.put_line(vstmt || ';');
    --      execute immediate vstmt;
       end loop;
    end;
    /Regards

  • Problem creating table with foreign key in SQL Workshop

    Application Express version 2.2.1.00.04
    Get error message "Number of referencing columns/data types must match referenced columns"
    Master table SLS_SUPPLIERS has primary key SLS_ID NUMBER(8,0) and when creating table SLS_PRODUCTS with FK SLS_SLP_ID NUMBER(8,0) using the create table wizard I get the above error.
    The name of the FK is SLP_SLS_FK, key column is SLP_SLS_ID, referenced table is SLS_SUPPLIERS and referenced column is SLS_ID.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    James Edey
    I should add that if I create the table without the foreign key constraint and then create the constraint separately in SQL Workshop then it creates OK. It only fails in the create table wizard dialog.

    Obviously no-one interested in this - just thought it may be a bug in v2.2 that the development team would find useful.

    I replied to the other thread on this too -
    there is a bug on that page when you click Next. If you define more than one fk but then navigate using the links on the process chart on the left (Constraints, Confirm, etc), the page works fine. We do have a bug on this now and I just added the notes I will need to get this fixed in 3.1 (I have already assigned it to me - must have some rogue validation that fires on next).
    Sorry it took so long for this to get noticed - I am glad I checked the forum this morning -

  • Replication on the table with XMLType column and schema registered

    Dear All,
    Does Oracle XML DB 11g support replication for tables with schema registered?
    Is there any recommended approach?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hmmmm ... I don't know if I should smile or frown with the implication that I am an OO guy :D :D
    Most of my colleagues when I started working as a software engineer, treated me as too low-level because of my C background (started doing C in 1985).
    In my last job, my colleagues hated my guts because I was asking them to squeeze every bit of performance out of C++ by using STL which is definitely not OO (although C++ is).
    My current colleagues treat me as a DB guru (which I most definitely am not) and they overlook/forget the fact that most of them use Java libraries in their projects, that I wrote for them !
    I am inclined to believe that I do not fall into any category in the end...
    The only thing I am for sure - and I am proud of it - is inquisitive. I want to know everything there is about the tools I use, and so I end up spending hours and hours investigating... (Microsoft found that out the hard way when I filed 16 bug reports in 8 days when Visual C++ 6 came out ! Not that it hurt them though...)
    This is where my confession ends (and my working on the XML validator starts...)

    PS: I did not follow the last solution anyway. I just wanted to verify its operability ;)

  • How to get around ora-ORA-04091: table SSBOSS.SSTRMAST is mutating, trigger

    hi,
    Does anyone know how one would get around this problem please ?
    Here is my dbase trig:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER SSBOSS.new_not_greater_than_net
    BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE OF newrent ON SSBOSS.SSTRMAST
    REFERENCING NEW AS new OLD AS old
    FOR each row
    DECLARE
    not_permitted EXCEPTION;
    vnum number := ssboss.nik_f;
    BEGIN
    IF :new.NEWRENT > vnum then
    --AND :old.DELETED = 'N' THEN
    RAISE not_permitted;
    END IF;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN not_permitted THEN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR
    (-20001, 'NEWRENT:'||:new.newrent||' '||'OLDRENT:'||' '||:old.netrent||'Action not permitted. Contribution (sstrmast.newrent) value '
    ||:new.NEWRENT
    ||' exceeds GROSS rental value (sstrmast.netrent) ');
    END;
    Here is my problem:
    SQL> update sstrmast set newrent = 11;
    update sstrmast set newrent = 11
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-04091: table SSBOSS.SSTRMAST is mutating, trigger/function may not see it

    ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'SSBOSS.NEW_NOT_GREATER_THAN_NET'
    I understand why but not how to correct?
    Thanks,
    nikolia.

    Hello,
    This problem as you might be knowing occurs when you try to select the data from the same table on which the trigger is written. Also this problem is only with the row level trigger and not with the statement level trigger. However the limitation of the statement level trigger is it can not refer to :NEW or :OLD. So now the solution is to capture the value of :NEW or :OLD in the row level trigger (no select statement here) and store it in some global variable. And how do you get the global variable? Using package specification ! a variable declared in a package specification is global in nature. Then use the value so stored in the statement level trigger in the select statement. It will work. Other solution is to use pragma autonomous transaction. Try and let us know. All the best.
