Problem setting azerty and different languages

Hi I just received my iPod touch in Belgium and Apple seems to think Belgian people use QWERTY but we use AZERTY. In settings i can't seem to change the keyboard without changing the language setting. As we are a tri-lingual country with three languages and one keyboard lay-out I guess the french speaking part will have the correct version.
Anyone else having this isue?

Okay, not sure if this is entirely right but I think this worked on mine when I set it up for Japanese and Spanish. Choose whatever languages you want available for your keyboard, and next time you popup the keyboard hit the icon that looks like a wire-frame globe. If I'm correct this should change the keyboard layout.

Ipad set up has different language

When I setup my ipad for the first time I am offered a few different languages and countries that are not English nor in the U.S. even though I bought my ipad and am setting it up in the U.S. When I set it up anywhere else besides my home I do not have this problem.

I do not know all the details but have you tried a Reset [Hold the Home (bottom centre) and Sleep/Wake (top right edge) buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe.

It's possible you have some files that have those tags. I've seen tags show up like that when I've downloaded files.
You can just delete the unused tags that say "Green" but have no color and are in English. Just keep the tags you want. You may wish to click on the tags and see what file may be tagged with them first.

Screen Sharing and different language keyboard

Hi all,
my MacBookPro has US Keyboard and my iMac ITA.
If I tray to access to my iMac from my MaBook via Screen Sharing while it's Standing By, it asks me to login.
Unfortunately it was started with the Italian keyboard and in the session there is no chance to change it in the login form, so... it's very difficult input password with different keyboard layout...!!
Anyone know if there is a trick (keys combination) to invoke a function to resolve this problem?

but taking a more accurate look to the posts I find the response: in the "Account", at the login option, is avaiable "Show keyboard menu at login" (something similar, my OS is in Italian).

Problem setting look and feel

It seems like I'm not able to change the windows xp look and feel, I'm using this code to change it but nothing happens, the window comes out with windows LAF:

I finally noticed the problem, what I was trying to do was actually done by writting this:
JComponent.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true);
Sets the OceanTheme feel on, but I noticed that when you try to use it with a Jdialog and a JFileChooser you get some ugly colors. Orange/Brown with JDialogs and Green with JFileChoosers. Is this a bug or it's ment to do that?
Does somebody know how to fix it?

Slider with Synth - Problems setting tick and text color

Hi,
I'm currently using Synth and I'm having some problems with sliders. The sliders appear and work fine, although I can't seem to change the color of the ticks and text.
I would like the ticks and text to be orange, but it seems to default to black. I tried changing this in the Slider section of my Synth file (see below) but with no luck.
Would anyone have any suggestions?

Forms, GET and different languages.

i want to do the following.
A user gets a form in en_US (default behaviour) then the user enters some data
until he doesnt understand what he has to enter in a special field -> he switches the language to de_DE simply by requesting the same page with an other paramater.
Clearly all the entered data is lost.
How would you work around this problem, when each page needs to be accessible by a get request (link). Is there a way to tell the browser to 'store' the entered data, like a browser does if you use the forward/backward buttons?
The must not be any scripting like javascript or similar...

While switching over the languages, you would certainly go through a servlet. :) Save a request attribute holding the data in an object.

Problems setting speed and duplex

We have installed a 4510R router as well as a 3560 10/100 switch. When the speed and duplex are hard coded to 100 full on both switches the connection breaks. When set to auto on both ends, link stays up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This could be a symptom of a bad or poorly terminated cable.
If you hard-code the speed to 10 and or the duplex to half, does it stay up?
If this is a handmade cable, try replacing it with a known-good commercial cable. If all you have available is hand-made cables, then verify that the pairs are p0inned-out according to the EIA/TIA standard (left-to-right, clip down:

If your cables are not pinned-out according to the spec, the ACR (attenuation-to-crosstalk ratio) is blown and the cable cannot carry full-duplex high-speed traffic (or it might work, but not without a lot of errors .... which is why the interface will downshift to a slower speed or half duplex).

Im pretty sure what you are looking at is Set up Assistant where it shows different languages on the slider. If I am right then just slide to unlock and follow the prompts to choose your language, country etc.

I have been experiencing the same problem. My mail app won't even open on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro. It will show as open, but the app will never actually show up.

Use different language and Spell check

Hello, just got an iPad to supplement my two Android phones, and like it so far...
Except for one thing that drives me nuts...
The spell check. I live in Scandinavia, but like to use English as my interface language. This causes major problems, when I write something in Danish.
Is there any way to have English as the interface language, but use another language for spell checking?
Also, is there a way to use two different languages in spellcheck? Its really annoying to have English words pop up as suggestions when I write something in a different language and vice versa...

From a user perspective this is wrong UX and lacks total support for multi-national companies, especially when the (national) keyboard layout differs from the (foreign) keyboard layout that is being forced to use if one wants the spell check to be performed in the foreign languge.
Let's take the following example. My language settings are set to English because I want my interface in English. The used keyboard layout is Flemish (=Dutch) (AZERTY). When writing emails the spell check is performed in Dutch since iOS uses the keyboard related language. This is fine as long as I write emails to people in Belgium which do read and speak Dutch. However when I want to write English emails (and hence would like English spell check) I am forced to switch my keyboard to English (UK). This is not really OK as switching the keyboard messes up the layout I am used to work with (English -> QWERTY).
Essentially, the selected keyboard (and keyboard layout for that matter) shouldn't have any impact on the used language for the spelling check. To be honest I can't remember of any application/OS used so far that applies this logic.
I really do hope that this gets fixed in some way (e.g. by adding the option to select the spelling check language) in a future update of iOS.

Different Safari and system language

Hi, I would like to ask, if it is possible to have different system language (System Preferences > Language/Religion/Preferred Languages) and Safari language. The problem is, that I want to have my Mac in english (Preferred Language - English), but Safari in Czech language, because if I set my Mac language english, then safari automatically turns pages into english language, and i have to click back on the Czech flag. I'm sure everybody knows the option which some webpages have - its usually on upper right corner, where are two or more flags depending on what language do you want to have the webpage.
Theres an option in Chrome to change this (Chrome > Preferences > Show Advanced Settings > Languages > Language and imput settings), but for Safari I'll have to figure it out by Terminal or something I believe..I don't know. Eventually that's why I'm here asking you.

MySQL does not know about what type of Font you use or store. that is applicatioon specific. All it knows is the character set that you are storing and the data type and data. THere are something you should know when working with database and Java:
1. make sure you know what character set is used for the database table.
2. make sure you know what character set is used by Java (default to UTF-8 ..
sort off - there are few character that it cannot save). You can enforce the
character set being sent to the database by the String's getBytes(String charsetName) method.
3. make sure the application you use to view the table use the correct character set
if it use a different character set, then any character that it does not recogized
will be replaced with a quetion mark '?'....eventhough the data is correct.

Problem with navigation and masthead by changing languages with Anonymous

Hi All,
i have a problem with navigation and masthead by changin the language when accessing as anonymous user.
Ive created two additional users anon_de (with language german )and anon_en (for english).
I've created also two links in the in masthead:
/irj/portal/anonymous?guest_user=anon_en and /irj/portal/anonymous?guest_user=anon_de
When i choose "de" for the first time it works fine, but when i choose "en" again the language in the content are is changing to english again, but not in navigation and masthead. When i click again on link for "en" the languge is set to english. Strange thing is that when i click on "de" instead the portal content change to german but masthead and navigation are in english now, as it should be before....
It seems that masthead and navigation have always prevoius language selected.
Do you know, what could be the reason of that strange behavior?

you are right. the user is not "updated" fast enough... the strange thing is, that it works by the first time i change the language...
well.. i can implement that workaround as you suposed, but it would be a really workaround as the same page will be requestes second time, causing requests number to be double..

Problem setting up ColdFusion on Windows 7 and IIS

Using Windows 7 version 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 on a Dell N5110 Laptop running an Intel Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.4 GHz and 6 GB RAM, 64-bit OS.
Under Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features On and Off > Internet Information Services I have turned on all the features and subfeatures EXCEPT for FTP Server. Internet Information Services Hostable Web Core is also turned ON though it's unclear whether it's necessary or not.
Installed ColdFusion version 10 after enabling IIS as described above.
Used instructions at http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/266/troubleshooting-failed-requests-using-tracing-in-iis/ to set up and test tracing, working around all the ambiguities and errors there until tracing actually worked as described for a 404.2 error on a .asp file. THEN reset the trace to work on all 500 errors for ISAPI Extension and WWW Server.
Ran the Web Server Configuration Tool for ColdFusion as described at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Installing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cdec18a1 5-7ffb.html to configure IIS for ColdFusion in Windows. Then these parts of the configuration were possible to verify at C:\ColdFusion10\config\wsconfig :
Verify your IIS configuration
Verify that the following folder was created: cf_root/config/wsconfig/number.
To set the <samp class="codeph">connectionpooltimeout</samp> and <samp class="codeph">reuseconnectioncount</samp> click on Advanced Setting tab. The option to enable buffering and verbose debugging is available on the same page.
Configuring IIS:
Creates a folder <samp class="codeph">1</samp> in <samp class="codeph">cfroot\config\wsconfig</samp>, that contains all connector-related files.
Creates a virtual directory <samp class="codeph">Jakarta</samp> in <samp class="codeph">cfroot\config\wsconfig</samp> (in IIS).

Some of the parts of the verification process were skipped, for the reasons described :

No kind of 'entry' is possible for the specified .dll at that location under its Properties, nor can permissions be allowed under Properties for anything remotely resembling 'ISAPI and CGI Restrictions'.
