Problem Transporting Web Forms

Hi Experts,
I have been trying to export the custom web forms from POC server to Dev server. But then i'm not able to find the web form in the target server..
For exporting i followed this method..
Content Administration  KM Content  Export  Pending Exports in the portal... n then i include the xml, xsl and even the whole of wpcconfig folder in the package .
And on importing i fnd the xml and xsl file in the styles and types folder of 'etc'.. but then i do not find the web form .
Can somebody please help me in this matter.

I exported all the config changes that i had made while creating the web forms . But when i import the config changes on the tranget system .. it says.. there are errors..

Icon display problem in web form

Hello,
I am running form through browser. i have converted all my ico files to gif. but icon on the button in web form is not rightly positioned and not clearly displayed as it was in client/server(ico file).

Hi,
it may be that Forms requires your buttons to be a bit bigger in size after converting .ico file to .gif. However, the icons are referenced by a URL link and therefore shouldn't be of a lower quality. At least it should have the same display quality as it has when opening teh gif in a Browser.

Font problem in web forms

hi friends,
we have some company specific true type font which display the company logo. this font is displayed properly in client server mode but when the form is run in web environment it gets mapped to some other font.also the same font is displayed properly in the reports running on web.
I have tried changing the registry.dat and font.properties file but it didn't help. can anybody guide me how exactly i should add new fonts to these files.

I also face similar problem when moving from AS9i to AS10g.
Using Report10.1.2.0.2. The paper design and PDF generated from report builder looks fine.

Key mapping problem for web forms !!!

I have implemented forms 6 on the web using OAS 4.0.7 on WinNT SP 3 workstation. I have modified FMRWEB.RES file for activating F9 - LOV. We have a customized toolbar for our application. There are also shortcut keys defined for the same. For example, if the user presses ALT+S, then 'Save' button gets pressed. But when i run the form on the web, if the focus is on any list box, and if the user presses 'S', then 'Save' button gets pressed. I figured that if i deactivate 'ALT+S' key on the web, then it will work. How can i make the changes in FMRWEB.RES file ??

WEB Forms do not display properly with windows 95 LARGE fonts desktop setting

Hi,
We are using WEB forms 6.0 patch level 6 (We tried 6i but had too many bugs with it, we prefer to wait until at least a couple of patches are out, installation was a VERY painful experience for us)
We still have the following problem with WEB FORMS deployed on win95 desktops with LARGE FONTS destktop settings: The forms are not displayed correctly, sometimes there are no scroll bars, resizing a window gives weird results, part of the forms become inaccesible, some forms are blank, etc...
Can you verify or confirm that you have the same kind of problems ? We use jinitiator 1.1.18.
Is it fixed with 6i ? Is it fixed wit jinit 1.1.27 ?
We develop in smal fonts on win95 and recompile under solaris before deploying.

Thank you all for your fast asnwers. The "Use hardware acceleration when available" was the problem, I disabled it and I will post a message on my site about this.
The site is on-line in the same aspect since 2005, modifiyng the whole site to fit with Firefox11's default setting is not a good option. At that moment, placing a tabel (alligned to the center of the page) and puting in it the thumbnails with links generated by ExpressThumbnailCreator, than manually adding the description in the HTML view of FrontPage was the simplyest way possible to make the site appear properly on my 800*600 px resolution I used then. Of course, I upgraded my hardware and software since then, but the site remained mostly unchanged (except the index and a few files). I know it's time for a new version of the site but... my web-design knowledges are limited to basic HTML.

Web forms mouse navigation

Hello all
I'm running forms 6i. I have a problem with web forms not
allowing focus to a text field when using the mouse to click on
the text field.
if i call form individual like this
http://myhost:myport/dev60cgi/ifcgi60.exe?
form=formname.fmx&config=smstest.dat
it will work fine. But if call this form from push button in the
othor form the mouse navigater did not work. All forms work fine
in client server mode.

Help Needed in resolving problems with Hyperion Planning Web Forms

Hi,Can anyone help me with this problem?Problem:We are running Planning 2.3.1 I have created Webform & security(application owner has the ownership).Somehow Iam getting only 7 dimensions into webform & 1 dimension is missing in that. But whereas 8 dimensions are there in Essbase.Hsp_Rates dimension is available in essbase outline but Iam unable to see that dimension in the webform selection.And using the webform Iam unable to load any data ...the form is graded/protected.Is this happening because i dont have the requirement of 1 member from each Dimension?Please someone let me know why this is happening what might be the reason.ThanksUser

Hi,The dimension Hsp_Rates is a hide dimension used by Planning to store the exchange rates for the differentes exchanges.All the standard information is stored on HSP_InputValue member (in this dimension).When you create a web form, Planning automatically asign this member (but don't show it).Probably you can't load data because you are selected on Version dimension a Standard Botton Up version, and you only can load data on level 0 members in this type of version.If you want to load data on upper level members, then you need to create a Standard Target version (in the Version dimension) and select it in the form.Please, advice if this solve your problemClaudioBPD Solutions

PDF form problem in web dynpro

Hello Everybody,
I have some problem with PDF form in web dynpro application.
I have used T layout view set. On top view i put one image. On left view i have tree element. On right side i have all other elements.
Right side, different views are displayed depending upon the option chosen from tree. But, when I opened view containing Adobe form and then try to choose any other options, Internet browser gives system error and browser closed.
What should be the reason behind this?

Acrobat reader version is 7.0.5.
But if i change Acrobat reader version to 6.0.3 then it works. But i want version 7.0.5 for date popup.

Session problem with a form that calls psp web page.

Hi,
My unique form is based on table A.
Within the form I call a stored procedure, which insert data from A into tables B,C,D
And then within the same form I call a psp procedure using web.show_document('http://server:8080/plsql/psp_procedure?pvId=1001);
The plsql web page displays data from tables B,C,D for each single pvId.
The problem is:
If any commit is issued the psp web page contains no data from B,C,D.
I suppose I'm working with two different sessions, can I work within the same one?

Hi,
I'd say the main problem is that you have both rows with the same name 'Rangée1'. This is not a good idea, especially as the first row is the repeatable row.
When objects have the same name, you can see the instances in the hierarchy, eg 'Rangée1[0]' and 'Rangée1[1]'. The instances use a zreo-based numbering system.
By the way you can also see it in the Object > Binding tab:
So that is when you have multiple objects with the same name.
The problem with your form is that when objects are repeated (add new instance button), then these new objects also have instances, eg 'Rangée1[0]', 'Rangée1[1]', 'Rangée1[2]', etc.
So the Acrobat gets confused ;-)
I have renamed the second row 'Rangée2'. That seems to have solved the problem.

Router Setup Web form display problem

When I open Internet Explorer 6 to my router setup page (192.168.1.1), the menus and control discriptions are missing. Internet explorer reports an error with processing some of the web scripts. I'm using: WRT54G V8. I have tried reseting the router but it does not fix the problem. I have tried using the Opera Browser but it has the same problem. Unfortunately, I can't attach a screen capture to this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, mm

I did some playing around and found that in "Save Mode" the setup web form displays properly. So I upgraded the router firmware in Save Mode, rebooted and now the setup form displays fine in regular mode. I should note that I also re-installed ZoneAlarms (firewall application). Thanks, mm

When running on the web Forms no longer uses an environment variable to pick up icon location. This information is now set in the registry.dat file (located Ohome\forms60\java\oracle\forms\registry\). All icons must be converted to GIF or JPG format.
The registry.dat file has 2 lines for
1) default.icons.iconpath=
2) default.icons.iconextension=

I placed the tag_tellafriend into my email marketing campaings.
and placed the web form on my web site.
when linking to the form can't enter the first two fields:
-Your Name
-Your email address
and also the subjet line does not fill in from the campaign.

Thanks Mario - I sent a real campaign to myself
it populated the "your name" and "your emial address" fields
it did not populate the "subject" field.
I do have the subject field populated in the dashboard "e mail marketing" both places.
What do you think?

Web Forms Not working on Client Machines with Separate Win

Hi friends,
We deployed all our Forms on web and we are using Developer
Server 6.0 ,OAS 4.07, Oracle Jinitator 1.1.7.18 ,Netscape 4.7
Browser
My problem is we configured forms to open in a separate window
this is giving problems on Client Machines they are getting a
blank screen ,previously we used to open forms in the same window
(browser ) at that time we didn't get any problem.
We are using Oracle Jinitiator 1.1.7.18 & Netscape 4.7 as
browser on Client Machines.

JInitiator will be downloaded only once - the first time when u connect to a web-forms application. After that - no problem. It is true that the first time it takes a little bit longer, but I think forms are working better using JInitiator. However - it is just a matter of settings how u will make your application to run. Oracle did great improvement of the speed introducing the forms servlet listener. I would expect even better performance with Forms9i. And Win2000 is not a problem, but combination between Win2000 and Pentium4 is. There is a way to avoid your (installation) problems however.

Unable to close web form.

Here is a typical 11g forms development session for me.
1. Create/modify a form using Forms builder on my PC.
2. Transfer the form to the Solaris box.
3. Compile the form.
4. Open the form on my web browser.
5. With the form still open, repeat steps 1-4.
I have done it this way for years using 10g but 11g frequently freezes the form displayed on the web.
I have to kill the browser and start all over.
If I close the form on the web first, there is rarely a problem.
Also, when a newly compiled form is run on the web for the first time, the canvas colors are all white !
I can close and re-open the form with no other side effects.
Do you think this may be a Java setting issue or what ?

Curious; I have always not done it this way! :) In my experience, and I've been working Oracle Forms for a lot of years, I have found that it is a "Best Practise" to always close an instance of a Forms Runtime rather than try to refresh a newly compiled version of a Form in the Forms Runtime instance. In cases where you don't do this, your browser session typically dies (4 out of 5 times) and you have to kill the browser session completely and start over. I've followed this method since my early days developing with Forms 4.5. In the rare instances where your Forms session doesn't freeze - often times the browser simply displays the same edition of the Form and not the new compiled edition.
Do you think this may be a Java setting issue or what ?No, I think it is simply a case of the Object is already in use and trying to refresh the instance of the object with a newly compiled Form locks the object rather than refreshes the object. This was true with the old client installed Forms Runtime and I have found this to be true with the new Web Forms Runtime.
All of this is based on my personal observation and experience, so this is just my opinion. Perhaps someone from Oracle (like Michael Ferrante) could elaborate on this. :)

NetRetryCount and netRetryInterval error in Hyperion Planning web form

User is getting this error when trying to save data on a web form. The error happens intermittenly and on different forms. It is difficult to pinpont the problem, as it does not happen consistently on the same form and as the administrator, I have never been able to replcate if on my computer and under the admin role. It actually causes the Hyperion Planning service to crash and we have to restart the service. The most recent time this occurred there was a rule that was running on save. We have removed the run on save for now. Does anyone know what setting need to be adjusted to eliminate this error?

You can probably try changing the value for netRetryCount and netRetryInterval in Essbase.cfg. Consider changing NetDelay too.
Essbase.cfg file is loacted in:
$HYPERION_HOME/products/Essbase/EssbaseServer/bin/Essbase.cfg
