Problem: using Dynamic file naming in adapter

Hi
Wat  i m doing is using dynamic file configuration as given in this link
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14 and trying to get file name and content of the file.
I m getting file name in dynamic configuration in SXMB_MONI but payload is empty.Actually i have to pass this payload to BPM.

Subodh,
I understand that using the filename you would like to do the validations, but, am not able to get the entire flow, inclduing your BPM flow.
If you give us the entire interface flow, it would be helpful to understand the problem better.
Just a quick note : Try to do the mapping that gets the filename outside the BPM if you do not get this inside the BPM.
Have not tried this, but I have seen a few posts which found that the dynamic parametrs were not accesible inside the BPM.

Bhavesh

  • Dynamic file naming with File/FTP adapter

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement for writing files with names of the files based on a customer ID.... a dynamic name based on a value retrieved from the customer DB.
    I have already tried using the dynamic file naming suggestion in the bpel dev guide, it does not work. I followed the instructions, the process fails to compile and throws "part" and "undefined variables" errors etc.
    Has anyone succesfully used file/ftp adapter to write files with dynamic file names (using a varibale), not %SEQ% or %datetime% formats?
    Thanks,
    Hasan

    You can create a header variable that will allow you to set the outbound file name inside the process. This variable is a message type. From the type chooser select:
    Message Types
    Partner Links
    Outbound Partner Link
    Outbound wsdl
    Message Types
    Imported WSDL
    fileAdapterOutboundHeader.wsdl
    OutboundHeader_msg
    This variable will have a part filename.
    Set this part to whatever you wish your file to be named.
    Select the invoke to your outbound file/ftp partnerlink. Move to the adapters tab and select the header variable you created as the Input Header Variable.

  • Dynamic file naming at Receiver

    Hello Friends,
    How to handle the dynamic file naming in XI at receiver side as  file naming convention sequence to be incremented for every 1 hour...
    my Client expecting to handle at mapping...How to do this...
    Could any one give me the program if we need to do it in java...
    and pls also give another approach if any
    Setup dynamically ,

    >>naming convention sequence to be incremented for every 1 hour
    You can set the file construction mode as "Add counter" in the receiver file adapter

    I am having problems using mov files imported into a project. I get the message "Not rendered" in the Canvas and clip won't play. Can anyone help?

    When clips won't play without rendering in the Timeline, it usually means that the clip's specs don't match the Sequence settings.
    A .mov file could be made from any number of codecs; the QuickTime Movie designation is merely a container for video files of all kinds.  Since FCE only works with the QuickTime DV codec and the Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) natively, if your mov files aren't one of those two, you need to convert them PRIOR to importing into your FCE project.

  • Issue with Dynamic file Naming

    Hello Experts,
    I am doing a scenario where in for one incoming field we are using dynamic configuratiion UDF  for getting the filename.Now I am able to get the filename correctly.Now the issue is for the result output file I do not need this field . For Ex : The incoming field has some value say ABC_XYZ which I use and then concatenate it with time and date stamp in the UDF and then send it to the output.
    Now at the result I dont need this field ABC_XYZ. The aim was to use it to generate only the file name with ABC_XYZ_date_time.
    Please guide on the same as to how this field can be eliminated.Is it possible to do so in content conversion in file adapter using some Ignore thing. Please guide. Hope I have cleared my doubt.

    Hi Amit,
    You can create another segment with in the target message type and remove that in content conversion. You can use this blog as reference:
    /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12
    Else you can use shabarish weblog and can come up with the filename in your mapping and store it in FileName and then put in your receiver comm. channel as FileName which should take care of your issue.

    Hi,
    if you have SP14 stop using variable substitiuion:)
    you can do it much easier with dynamic configuraiton
    /people/william.li/blog/2006/04/18/dynamic-configuration-of-some-communication-channel-parameters-using-message-mapping
    so you can easily set it for file adapter to set the file name

  • Problem using the File Dialog Box in a Client/Server application

    I am developping a client-server application using Labview 5.1 . The application on the server acquires data from some instruments and saves it on file, while the application on the clients displayes such acquired data. For doing this I call some routines on the server via the "Open Application vi" (remote connection). All goes well except when I open on the server the "File Dialog Box vi" : in this case the application on the clients is blocked (is blocked the execution of the called vi on the server). Only when
    the File Dialog Box on the server is closed, the execution of the called vi on the server starts again.
    I need to use the File Dialog Box on the server, but I don' t want to stop at the same time

    I need help for resolving such problem.
    Many thanks in advance !!!

  • PE7: Problem with auto file naming of scanned photos

    I began scanning photos using PE7. PE stored the files in my designated folder. It named the first scan "Image1.jpg." Thereafter, files were named "Image1-nn.jpg." I would finish for the day, and PE would pick up where in left off in file naming for the next batch.
    All was well until I got the bright idea to rename the first photo to "Image1-0.jpg," so it would sort properly. Worse, perhaps, I renamed it outside of PE, in Windows Explorer. Unfortunately, this confused PE completely. Now, it wants to restart the file naming with "Image1.jpg," and scans terminate with a message that the scan was unsuccessful because there is already a file with that name in the catalog.
    How do I go about resetting things back, so that subsequent scans resume at the next available file name+number?
    Second, is there a way to control what prefix ("Image1") gets inserted in scanned file names?
    Thanks.

    By renaming the file outside of PSE, it's now "missing" in your PSE catalog and PSE doesn't know how to find it -- its thumbnail should have a yellow question mark on it.   Do File > Reconnect > All Missing to reconnect any missing files with their new locations, and going forward, only rename and move files in the catalog using PSE.
    Once you've reconnected the missing files, the scanning should no longer be confused about file names.
    I don't think you can control the filenames used by the scanning.  You can set the folder used via Edit > Preferences > Scanning.   For a number of reasons, I do scanning in two steps -- first, I use the scanner's utility to scan to a file, then I drag the file into the Organizer.  This gives me fine control over the file's name and folder location.

  • Testcase problem using two file adapter and a transformation

    We've got an input which looks like this :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rows>
    <row>
    <id>10</id>
    <naam>A</naam>
    </row>
    <row>
    <id>20</id>
    <naam>B</naam>
    </row>
    </rows>
    I've created an XSD for this message which looks like this ( straightforward ) :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://www.test.nl/testschema" xmlns:test="http://www.test.nl/testschema" elementFormDefault="unqualified">
         <element name="row">
              <complexType>
                   <sequence>
                        <element ref="test:id"/>
                        <element ref="test:naam"/>
                   </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
         <element name="rows">
              <complexType>
                   <sequence>
                        <element ref="test:row" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
                   </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
         <element name="naam">
              <simpleType>
                   <restriction base="string">
                   </restriction>
              </simpleType>
         </element>
         <element name="id">
              <simpleType>
                   <restriction base="byte">
                   </restriction>
              </simpleType>
         </element>
    </schema>
    I've imported this XSD in my ESB project and created a file adapter which reads this type op files.
    I've created another file adapter to write the files 1:1 to an output dir.
    In the routingservice I've created a very straightforward XSL mapping which maps everything 1:1.
    Now the problem
    When I use this input :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rows>
    <row>
    <id>10</id>
    <naam>Martin</naam>
    </row>
    <row>
    <id>20</id>
    <naam>Edward</naam>
    </row>
    </rows>
    my output result is:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?><imp1:rows xmlns:imp1="http://www.test.nl/testschema"/>
    I know this is a namespace issue. When I add the namespace
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rows xmlns="http://www.test.nl/testschema">
    <row>
    <id>10</id>
    <naam>Martin</naam>
    </row>
    <row>
    <id>20</id>
    <naam>Edward</naam>
    </row>
    </rows>
    I get the correct ( and 1:1 output ).
    The problem is. In the scenario I'm about to build the input xml messages do not have an namespace. How can I alter my xsd file or anything within my ESB project that all files will be picked up correctly and processed without having an default namespace?
    Any help is appreciated!

    True,
    But its the other way around what is causing my problem.
    Because the input xml files contain no namespace at all the xml messages are transformed but result in an almost empty xml message. ( e.g. the root element is there and thats it ).
    This is because the XML transformation mapper in ESB ( as well as BPEL ) excplicitly needs a namespace.
    I solved it by editing the XSL by hand, removing the :imp1 namespace prefixes in the select="" tags. e.g.
    <xsl:for-each select="/imp1:rows/imp1:row"> is updated in
    <xsl:for-each select="/rows/row">
    As far as I know this is the only workaround at the moment that I could find.

  • Dynamic File naming in reciever File Adapter

    Hi all,
    I am using a reciever File adapter and my requirement is to generate 3 different file names based on the value of an element from the Payload.For example..
    Say in Payload for the first Occurence of the Data segment which contains Field-1 and Field-1 Contains value X then filename should be  X.CSV,
    same as
    For the next occurence of the Data Segment if the Value of Field-1 is Y then File name should be Y.CSV.
    Similarly For Z as well.
    This is something like this...
    SOurce Structure
    ================
    IDOC
    DATA SEGMENT-1
    Field-1---> X
    Field-2
    Field 10
    DATA SEGMENT-2
    Field-1
    Field-2
    Field 10
    DATA SEGMENT-3
    Field-1
    Field-2
    Field 10
    then the output and filenames  should be...
    X.CSV
    Field-1
    Field-2
    Field-3
    Y.CSV
    Field-1
    Field-2
    Field-3
    Z.CSV
    Field-1
    Field-2
    Field-3
    Kindly help, is there any way i can do this using File Adapter Configurations .Please suggest.

    Hi,
    you can use a small business process.
    There you will receiver the message in one receive step.
    than you need a transformation Step with a mapping which split your message to several messages.
    At least you have now a Multi Row container with one message for each data segment.
    For sending each messages of this multirow container you need a block in BPM.. this you have to set to parallel processing.
    Inside this block you have a sending step which send the single message.
    and without BPM take a look at this Weblog(you need SP14):

  • Filename for flat file using J2EE FILE FTP Receiver adapter

    Hi there,
    I am struggling to do the following:
    I have a J2EE File receiver that sends a file with a specific name to a FTP destination. I define the target filename in my graphical mapping using certain criteria and a incremental number. In my adapter I use variable substitution to select that value in the payload as the filename. Up to this point everything works fine.
    The problem is that I convert the payload to a flat structure using xslt before writing it out and because of that the adapter cannot find my value as defined in the variable I use for the name.
    Now, obviously if I move the xslt module after the CallAdapter module, the file won't be converted to a flat structure.
    Can anyone give me advice on how I can do the flat conversion <u>and</u> the specific filename from the payload?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    Instead of using variable substitution, use adapter specific identifiers to set the file name in mapping.

  • Problem in dynamic file name in File reciever adapater

    I have given my file name as
    %abc%.txt
    and in the advanced mode
    i have given
    Additional parameters as
    abc=
    payload:file_reciever_mt,1,FileNameNode,1,FileName,1
    while my file reciver structure is
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns:file_receiver_mt xmlns:ns="urn:filetofiledemo"><recordset><data><name></name><age></age></data></recordset><FileNameNode><FileName>Amit123</FileName></FileNameNode></ns:file_receiver_mt>
    My file is getting store as %abc%.txt
    not as Amit123.txt
    I am using SP 14 .
    Any pointers wld be very helpful
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
    In your filename field. just give a variable with % symbols. (eg: %file% ).
    Now, under the option Variable Name Substitution, you can give how the value has to be created.
    It can be your interface name, sender service name, etc or it can be some value dynamically from your payload.
    For the former, your give
    message:interface_name ,etc
    and for the payload part you give,
    Payload: "your element root which u wanna acecss"
    Just check this link out,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/content.htm
    And read the contents under variable substitution and it will help you understand the concepts better.
    Apart from my previous post, you can also use Adapter Specific Identifiers in your Sender and Receiver File Adapters to copy the same file name from the source to the target.
    take a look at this blog for the same,

  • Problem in dynamically file name generation procedure

    Hi All,
              I had scenario where i need to generate target filename dynamically for that i'm using UDF mentioned in the below blog :
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    to generate filename  for target file adapter.
    UDF used:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey keyHeader1 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP", "HeaderFieldOne");
    conf.put(keyHeader1, a);
    return "";
    While giving filename in receiver file adapter what should be the filename given in receiver file communication channel?

  • Problem in dynamic file configuration

    Hi All,
    I am working on a scenario for which different files must be generated for each recorset.
    The file name should be generated dynamically based on the input fields.
    I am able to generate different files but with same file name for all the files.
    I have used the blog "/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14 as reference..
    please help me out .

    Hi Rajesh,
    In the Michal's blog that you are following, the FileName attribute is selected. And if you select it the file name of the source and the target will be the same. To avoid such a situation, you deselect the check box and then create an UDF. Using the UDF you can assign different dynamic names to ur files.
    In the blog he has used get function to access the variable. Similarly you can use set function to dynamically assign the names to the files.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sanjeev.
