I am using Interactive Report in Application Express 3.2.1.00.11
I have made report as editable by using following query

When I click FILTER option in Interactive Report , It is taking under Expression "<input type="text" name="f03" size="20" maxlength="2000" value="ARIS" />" and displaying in search filter as
Skill = '<input type="text" name="f03" size="20" maxlength="2000" value="ARIS" />'
Can I make display like Skill ="ARIS"
Any suggestion is welcom ..

Hi,
As I know there is no fix/workaround for that.
Disable filtering and other stuff is only. But I think you of course like have filters and other nice thing of interactive report. Other vice you have done classic report.
It is better use classic report and build own custom filers.

Try making your column definition as "Remove HTML and escape special characters".
I tried it and it make the column appear as editable as intended and also clicking on the column heading or on the filter in the IR bar behave properly.

Print a report from Application Express direct to a CUPS Printer

Hi all, I'm new to this technology, is it possible to print a report from Application Express directly to a CUPS Printer? Can someone tell me in laymans terms how to do it? I find the terminology and documentation less than helpful.

BI Publisher handles submitting reports directly to a CUPS printer. However, the APEX integration doesn't currently integrate with that portion of BI Publisher.
Here's an options:
Use the Java API of BI Publisher to build a custom Java program that would do this for you. Delivering to CUPS is part of the Java API.

Flex 4.5 problem using image in Mobile Application (Android)

I have a problem using flex and mobile application...
I have an image with path = "/mnt/sdcard/images/20120202172020990.jpg"
Simply using
<s:Image id="image" source="/mnt/sdcard/images/20120202172020990.jpg" />
Get me an empty image on device, still using it on computer (desktop build / debug) it works fine...
I have enabled every kind of permission in the app.xml
Why I got this error?

I actually solved the problem using:
image.source = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath(file_name).url;
using instead this one it will work only under windows...
image.source = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath(file_name).nativePath;
I don't know if it's a bug or whatelse, but I think that the source property of Image passing a filename that start with / (/ is root for unix based OS, android, linux, ios, etc), will take is as a relative path instead of complete path...

Using Interactive Report with SQL query accessing tables via db link

Is there a known issue with using the interactive report in version 3.1.2.00.02 with SQL that is accessing tables via a database link? I get the error 'not all variables bound', I do not get this error when using the standard report for the same SQL?

I'm trying to make an application in Oracle Application Express and I've tried making an SQL report using the following SQL query:

The SQL works fine and gives me lovely results in my report. However, I don't know how to link the SQL to my actual Appointment table. Deleting, updating or creating new appointments through this view is impossible because I get the following error Unexpected error, unable to find item name at application or page level.
I understand how to make a form on the Appointment table but given how that table contains lots of primary keys (numbers) it's not preferable for the user to have to deal with that.
Can I have some help with linking the two and making it functional?

"Invalid number" error using Interactive Report search on collection

hi -- I have several interactive reports based on collections. In the IR reqion query definition,
I cast the collection values as needed (number, date, etc). Everything's been working great.
In both development and production, I can use the search feature of interactive reports
and it finds rows containing the text I type in (as well as everything else working fine...)
I just imported a new version of an application into our production database. Now, when I use the
interactive report search, I always get "invalid number". This even happens on interactive reports
that still work in the previous version of the production application... and these IRS
have not been modified at all.
If I create a filter and search for "elevation" in a string column, the filter works. If I create a filter
searching for "elevation" in a number column, I get "invalid number". (In the development
environment, I can do the latter -- it just doesn't find any rows.)
Clearly it's choking on the types of the columns in the IR... but why now and not before, and why
in the production database but not the development DB? Both are running 4.0.1.00.03.
This is a pretty major loss of functionality... and it comes at a really bad time... Help?!

Cross tab reports in application express

Can a cross tab report be generated with the help of Oracle Application Express?

Lavina - you can cheat and create a very simple report like this:
Use a PL/SQL dynamic region. Within your PL/SQL, query the database to get the data in rows rather than columns (which is normally much easier and allows the number of items to be dynamic) and set a cursor on the result.
Start an HTML TABLE block, loop through the cursor once for each column of the resultset and output each row as a table column (i.e. 'sideways', with td tags rather than tr tags, or th tags for the first). You can also put in CSS formatting etc., then close off the table at the end. The idea here is that you build up an HTML table with your data in the cells, and pass it back to the browser using an htp.p() call.
It's a bit crude, and you don't get any of the APEX stuff that goes with the report, but it's OK for very simple reports. We use this technique for creating reports that show the data that was used to generate charts.

Interactive report and HTML Expressions

Currently I am using standard reports showing some icons using expression like:

I would like to recreate my page using the interactive report capabilities from APEX 3.1. I couldn't find the column formatting section in the interactive report however.
How can I reproduce the current icons showing behaviour using an interactive report ?

Hello Valery,
You don't have the HTML Expressions section in an Interactive Report.
However what you can do is include your img tag in your select statement directly. So you would have something like
SELECT '<img src="f?p='||:APP_ID||':'||:APP_PAGE_ID||':'||:SESSION||':APPLICATION_PROCESS=ShowIcon:::F105_BILD_ID:'|| gui_id || '">' as col1
FROM your_table
Make sure your IR column is set to standard column and not Text.
That should do it.

Report in application express

Hi all. I'm new in oracle application express; I came from oracle forms.
I've got a question: can be a report or interactive report multidimensional??

Here is what i mean: if i have to plot my data on a Y-X diagram i have 2 dimensions (my universe is a plan); in the case of a X-Y-Z diagram i have 3 dimensions (a cube), and so on.... i would like to manage sets of data with a generic number of dimensions (axis).

Download/print problems with Interactive Reports on 10g

Running APEX 3.1.1.00.9 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production with BI Publisher
When downloading Interactive report using xls/rtf - no data is shown, pdf - corrupted file error is shown. This seems to only happen with row counts over 20. Same tables with less rows populates fine with all file types.
This problem does not exist using the APEX.oracle.com site, same tables. Is this due to the DB version?

For addional info, I'm putting down major steps that I followed so that it can be confirmed for any missing links. Sorry for a little bigger post
1) $ORACLE_HOME\bin\rwserver.exe -install myRepSrv
2) Created a report in the reports builder, saved as .rdf
3) In Forms builder, attached the report as a new report object.
4) In a procedure to call the report, following code is written

5) Compiled the form and placed the form binary in approprite folder
6) modified $ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf\myRepSrv.conf. Changed the property of engine tag(sourceDir) to correctly point to the appropriate directory where the report has been saved
7) modified rwservlet.properties to turn off SSO
8) Started the external reports service with modified values
9) Invoked the form to launch the report
Please also note that if I invoke directly web.show_document and paste the hardcoded path, as can be expected, my work is done. But as can be agreed, this is not a very good approach.

Problem with Interactive Reports and IE 7

When using IE 7 a user clicks on any of the Interactive Reports options from the "Gear" pulldown and the popup apprears for a fraction of a second then disappears. This occurs in all of the options. I'm using IE 6 and it works fine for me. Has anyone seen this behavior with IE 7?

The problems is that they can't read the Flash contents. Video let appear a black window and Animation let appear the Flash logo in B&W.
I think, at less for Windows 8, that a plug in flash is installed on Internet Explorer. So when you want to get Flash player, an alert tell you that flash is already installed. ...

Using Interactive Report Selection In A Procedure

I want someone to be able to select a set of rows using the interactive report filtering capabilities. Then I want to use the data from the selected rows in a procedure. Is there some way to obtain the query being used by the report; or, in some other way obtain the rows that are selected?

Information about the IR reports are stored on tables that can be accessed through the following views:
APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR
APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_CAT
APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_CGRPS
APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_COL
APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_COND
APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_RPT
The ..._COND one may be most useful but you should check all of them. I haven't tried doing this myself but I think others have - a search on this forum may help there.

in my interactive report the horizontal scroll bar is not visible and i have created a scroll bar with the html code and i have a problem in that scroll bar when ever i will click the select list and if i will move the scroll bar and the select list is also moving but it the select list dont have to move .pls give me a solution for this urgent.
