Problem using TAPI triggers and merge statement

Hi,
I use Designer tapi triggers on a table. When I try to execute a merge statement, I get the following error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value.
Is there a restriction when using TAPI triggers and merge statements that anyone is aware of?

No restrictions on MERGE commands that I know of. I have, however, seen the TAPI give inexplicable ORA-06502 errors. It would help to know what line in which procedure or trigger gave the error. That information should have been in the error stack.

Problem using Cipher*Stream and Properties

I ran into a tricky problem using CipherInputStream, CipherOutputStream and Properties. I don't seem to find where I'm doing something wrong here.
I have something like this:

props.store( cos );Up until here, no problems right? I get the contents from the source text-file, and then write with to the CipherOutputStream, which gives me an encrypted version of the original file.
Then: (assume decCipher is an already initiated DECRYPTION Cipher)
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream( "enctextfile.properties" );
CipherInputStream cis = new CipherInputStream( fis, decCipher);
Properties props = new Properties();
props.load( cis );
props.list( System.out ); // this line should produce the exact same contents as the original source file right?But the output has one property less, as if in some part of this process, data has been lost. But where? Am I missing something?

Problem using Illustrator CS5 and CC 2014 in same PC

I am developing some Illustrator scripts using VBScript, which should work on CS5, CS6 or CC 2014. When the scripts will be called, the user will pass, as command line argument, which Illustrator version they want to use. Accordingly I am instantiating the appropriate Illustrator scripting object by the following code:

This is working correctly in one system where CS5 and CC 2014 are both installed. However, in another similar system, where CS5 and CC 2014 are both installed, this is failing. There, always the CC 2014 version is being used, even when the user wants to use CS5. On inspection it is found that the issue is with registry entry of LocalServer32 subkey of the Illustrator.Application.CS5 automation object. There I see, the path of CC 2014 executable is stored, not that of CS5. The value is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 (32 Bit)\Support Files\Contents\Windows\Illustrator.exe /automation. Hence, the statement CreateObject("Illustrator.Application.CS5") is actually starting the CC 2014 Illustrator version.
Does anyone know how this could have happened? Is this some installation behavior of CS5 or CC 2014, that can be controlled? In this machine CC 2014 was installed after CS5. Does CC 2014 change the registry settings of CS5, if it was installed? That seems very unlikely, as then how can one use both CS5 and CC 2014 in a system through scripts? It is possible that this is a one-off case where the registry entries have been "accidentally" changed. However, I would like to be sure.
I can re-install CS5 in this system where the issue is noted and probably the problem will go away. However, the scripts may be used in many different installations and I cannot possibly ask users to reinstall Illustrator everywhere. Moreover, this problem can occur sometimes in the future too.
Any suggestion regarding the cause and a possible full-proof solution will be highly appreciated.

are you referring to the audio meters panel? im on windows, and i can right click the meters panel and get options for "dynamic peaks". there are audio effects, from the effects panel if thats what you are looking for? i have one named "Dynamics" as well as several compressors.

Problem using file sharing and screen sharing in Leopard

I have Mac OS 10.5 Leopard installed on 4 computers in a Home Network and have a problem with sharing files and using screen sharing. Here is my setup.
MacBook Pro with my logon ID
MacBook Pro with my fiancee's logon ID
Mac Mini with both of our logon ID's
Mac Pro with both of our logon ID's
The problem I have is I am able to access the Mac Mini computer where we have an external Hard Drive connected for data. She is also able to access it. The only problem is we have it set up to only share this external USB drive. Yet for both of us it shares the external drive along with the internal Macintosh HD. Fortunately this is not a very big deal but since I'm not sharing all those drives why is it doing this?
Also, I am able to connect from the Mac Mini for example to my MBP and vice versa for screen sharing along with file sharing. Yet if she tries to connect to the Mac Pro from her MBP and vice versa it won't. It simply times out and will never connect for screen sharing or file sharing but yet the Finder shows the Mac Pro. We have a 2nd hard drive in the Mac Pro which is the one set up for file sharing. I am also unable to connect to the Mac Pro's HD. Everything appears to be set up correctly. For my MBP on the Finder it shows the Mac Pro but once again I am unable to connect to it for screen sharing or file sharing.
Also, not sure if it's related but even for her MBP she is unable to connect to it from any other computer in our network although it's set up for file sharing and screen sharing so I'm not sure if it's related to her logon ID. Then again as mentioned above neither of us can connect to the Mac Pro.
I tried to make the above sound as simple as possible. I am relatively new to networking and of course Leopard but even on the Mac Pro all settings sound the same as on the Mac Mini where we can both connect to. The only big difference is on the Mini we are connect to a USB external drive, on the Mac Pro an internal drive. Is there something I could have overlooked or are there known issues with Leopard's sharing features?
We both have .mac but since we are using this on an internal network (some wi-fi, some wired, all through an Airport Base Station Extreme) I would think this has nothing to do with Back to my Mac.
I appreciate any help with the above.

Samplerate problem using Analog In and Counter In from a NI 6259 USB. "Counter timeout" setting in DAQmx?!

I got a fundamental problem with the correlation of the timer settings of the DAQmx driver in DIAdem DAQ. I dont know where the problem is located exactly but maybe someone can help me if I explain what happens:
In my configuration I use some analog inputs from a USB 6259 with 20kHz samplerate and two counter inputs for frequency measuring via DAQmx in DIAdem DAQ.
There has to be an extra DAQin block for the analog inputs and the counter inputs with also an extra "Clock"-block for each of them. The clock of the analog inputs runs with 20kHz hardware clock and the other one with 10Hz software clock because the hardware clock mode is not allowed or supported.
My problem is the display refresh rate in VIEW. If the counter signal has no input (because the measured system is not active) the display seems to wait for any input and doesnt refresh the analog values on screen. If the system is active and a rectangle signal is seen by the counter in, the display refresh rate raises and the frequency value is displayed more or less accurate. Has that something to do with the counter timeout setting in the DAQin driver options block (marked in the attached image)? If i decrease the timeout, the display refresh rate gets better but not as good as without using the counter inputs in my DAQ diagram. I think the counter input is not as easy to handle as the usual analog inputs... I only want to see the measured frequency on the display during the measurement without getting any influence on the analog input channels and their displaying.
The other problem is the display and the measurement of the frequency itself. If i check the function of the counter input in the Meas. & Automation Explorer the frequency is display correct without any dropouts or something like that. The signal I measure in DIAdem on the other side looks quite bad because there are spikes of some MHz and even more although the measured range is between 20 and 80Hz!
Has anybody made similar experiences?

How to use analog Triggering and External clock scan

Hi, there. I want to measure the engine cylinder pressure with an PXI6070-E card and BEI encoder. I have tried using Cont Acq&Graph ExtScanClk D-Trig.vi and Cont Acq&Graph ExtScanClk Soft A-Trig.vi , but they don't work. What I did was to connect a 50HZ pulse to PFI0 (analog triggering, I changed the code from digital triggering to analog triggering), and a 100K pulse to PFI7 (startscan), and an 50 HZ analog signal to ACH0. But the code always says: timeout. If I use internal clock, it works fine. Could you please give me some help? THANKS A LOT!

I tested the Cont Acq&Graph ExtScanClk Soft A-Trig.vi and it worked fine. However, the Cont Acq&Graph ExtScanClk D-Trig.vi has a small error in its logic that will prevent the data from ever being displayed to the graph. In order to run the examples you need to connect a trigger to pin 11 and a scan clock to pin 38. A 10kHz square wave would be fine for the clock signal and just a single pulse would work for the digital trigger.
One additional think to keep in mind is the grounding. You might need to connect you ground from your signals to a DGND pin. I am including the two programs that I used for the test.

Problem using Change production and SFC step status with Simultanious group

Hello,
We just upgraded to ME 5.2 SP5 patch which was released two days back, the problem with Simultanious group is fixed and SFC gets the correct next step as per defined in the router (Previously there was bug).
But when we try to use change production and put SFC in simultanious router at some particular operation as que it is getting in que at all operations and really can be started and completed even at the last operation.
Same is the case with step status if we put it in que at some intermediate operation all operation listed above are becoming in que irrespective of the flow defined in simultanious router.
Please let me know how to handle this.

Script for handling triggers and delete statements

Hello,
currently I'm facing a problem which I don't know how to deal with.
We need a script which deletes/disables two triggers first, then delete some data and afterwards create/enable the triggers again.
I didn't find a proper hint how to cover this with dbmcli, probably we have to use a "higher" language..?!?!
Is it possible at all to provide "dbmcli -i" with a file including sql statements like the example afterwards ?
Is it possible to disable/enable triggers or do I have to delete and create them ?
e.g.:
disable/drop trigger trig_a
disable/drop trigger trig_b
delete from a where....
delete from b where...
enable/create trigger trig_a...
enable/create trigger trig_b...
used maxDB version is 7.5.0.38

please be aware that DBMCLI is a DBMServer client, not a SQL client (although it can tunnel some sql through the DBMServer).
Better use SQLCLI for things like that.
And. no, you cannot switch triggers on and off - just drop and recreate them.
But you may specify the IGNORE TRIGGER keyword for the delete statements.
That way you can leave the triggers just as they are.
p.s.
Any reason to stay on super old 7.5 ?

Problem with application item and session state

Okay, let's see if I can explain this problem coherently.
I have a small app (one page), with an application item, F_WHERE_CLAUSE.
This page has three regions in which there are items that the users can populate for search conditions. A couple of these items are "select list with submit" (I still need to upgrade to the AJAX method, I know). There is another region which has one hidden field, called P1_WHERE_CLAUSE. This field is defined to "Always, replacing any value in session state..." with source type of "Item (application or page.....", and a source value of F_WHERE_CLAUSE with no default value.
I have a button called "Search" which submits the page and fires a PL/SQL process which builds a where condition based upon the other page items and stores the value to the application item F_WHERE_CLAUSE (correctly).
For testing, I've made the P1_WHERE_CLAUSE field visible so that I can see what's going on. I've also clicked the debug and session buttons to help trace this. After I click the "Search" button and the page submits, debug shows:
0.02: ...Session State: Save "P1_WHERE_CLAUSE" - saving same value: "1=1"
followed later by:
0.05: ...Session State: Saved Item "F_WHERE_CLAUSE" New Value="lower(primary_class) = 'rock' and country = 'Spain'"
The field P1_WHERE_CLAUSE displays with the correct search criteria as signified by F_WHERE_CLAUSE above. However, If I click the "session" button to view the session state values, P1_WHERE_CLAUSE shows up as:
P1_WHERE_CLAUSE Textarea 1=1 U while F_WHERE_CLAUSE displays the correct value still.
The reason this "problem" came up, is that this page also has three SQL report regions which use &P1_WHERE_CLAUSE. for the where condition. While they display the correct results on-screen, each report region also has the "Export to csv" enabled, and the export seems to be using the "1=1" condition (from the "session" window) instead of the search criteria that the on-screen region is using (F_WHERE_CLAUSE and the displayed P1_WHERE_CLAUSE), resulting in a retreival of all records.
Anybody have any idea what's going on and why, and how to get the csv export to use the correct value for the where condition?

It appears the "Export to CSV" functionality requires the item value to be set in session state. The P1_WHERE_CLAUSE item value never gets saved to session state. The page is rendered and the value is put in the item on the page but until you submit the page session state doesn't know what P1_WHERE_CLAUSE is.
Create a before header computation or process to set the value of P1_WHERE_CLAUSE (which will save it to session state). It is interesting that the report regions didn't need to look at the value in session state but the "export to csv" does.

Problem with Clip Usage and merged clips in CS6

The 'Clip Usage' drop-down menus don't seem to work in Premiere CS6 for merged clips. The info bar at the top of the project window correctly lists the number of times the viedo and audio from the clip has been used, and the downward-pointing arrow appears, but when you click on it... nothing happens. Same's true of the 'Video Usage' column in the main body of the project window. Non-merged clips work just fine.
Anyone know if this is just a problem with my project, or if it's a bug in Premiere? Had a lot of trouble with merged clips in CS5.5, and was hoping they'd be solved by CS6 - I've been using Creative Suite for a long time, and the lack of good merged clips support was always one of the challenges in persuading other indie editors to switch over from FCP...

Problem with return true and if statement

I'm making a
ship shooter
game and I have a problem with the collision detection for the
corners of the stage. When you hold down two of the arrows to move
the ship into the corners of the screen, the ship will go past it.
The function bellow is what I'm using to detect this collision. The
reason I'm using a function is because it's used for the ship and
for all the balls from the cannons (as shown in the last two lines
of the attached code). This is the reason I need the return true,
so the if statement can be evaluated to true and then unload the
movieclip of the cannon ball. When I remove the return true, the
collision works fine, but obviously my cannon balls all get stuck
on the edges.
Any ideas?

Well the function is called every frame, for the ship and for
every cannon ball that's on the screen. So it could be called about
4 times or so per frame. The problem is that ship goes through the
corners of the stage (btw, the green background is the stage area)
when you go in a diagonal direction.
Just curious...what's the unnecessary code you're talking
about?

Has anyone had a problem using Mainstage 2 and Logic 9 with PreSonus fire studio Mobile?

I Still can't get Mainstage and Logic to play well with my setup. I'm using a Mac Pro 2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB ram and Logic 9.1.6 and Mainstage2. I have a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile and M-Audio Midisport midi interfaces. The only Midisport that works consistently is a MisiSport 2X2 sith a thru/merge switch set to merge. I am playing all of this with a Roland A-90 keyboard. Logic sometimes starts, but the audio interface doesn't work. Mainstage crashes on start-up. Can anyone help?

I suggest that you try a 'scientific' process of elimination:
Disconnect all external hardware, and try MS
Connect the hardware singly, one at a time, to determine which is causing the problem

PL/SQL using BULK COLLECT and MERGE

what i am trying to do is to use bulk collect to create an array of row data, then loop through the array and either insert or update a table, hence, merge:
FORALL i in ID.first .. ID.last SAVE EXCEPTIONS
MERGE INTO table1 t USING (
select ID(i) ID, {other array fields...} from dual) s
ON t.ID = s.ID
WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE...
WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT ...
The problem is that Oracle always do a INSERT. Has anyone had the same problem? Any workaround?

in the proc, I declared
ID ID_TYPE;
then a bulk collect:
select * from .. BULK COLLECT INTO ID...
In addition, i truncate the destination table and run the Proc. all records are insert's. then I ran the same proc again, expecting all records to be updated, but insert occured again causing exceptions due to violation of unique keys.

How do I use AI triggers and counters in DAQ6020-E using LabVIEW 6.0

1. I want to use the 2 counters in DAQ6020-E to generate 2 continuous pulse trains(C1 and C2) at different frequencies(C1 @ 1k Hz and C2 @ 2k Hz)and I want to synchronize these 2(for example,they both start with positive edges), how can I accomplish that? should I use a software trigger or a hardware pulse trigger?
2. Followed from 1),there will also be 4 analog inputs(a0,a1,a2,a3) in the same VI. I want them to be triggered by two non-overlapping clock sigals phiA and phiB. phiA and phiB are created by C1 and C2, they both will have 25% duty cycle(with 1k Hz frequency) and are out of phase by 180 degree(thus they wont be bo
th high at the same time).I want a0 triggered by the postive edge of phiA, wait for 0.1 ms, take 1 sample,stop and wait for the next postive edge of phiA. Similarly, a1 will be triggered by negative edge of phiA(wait .1 ms and then sample), a2 by positive edge of phiB, and a3 by negative edge of phiB.
I want to know what pins in the 68-pin connectors corresponding to counter0 and counter1 output, and where should I hook up the triggering phiA and phiB to. Should I initialize them first in Measurement & Automation Explorer?

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
Here are some answers to your questions:
1. You will want to use a harware pulse trigger. This pulse will be connected to the gate of both counters. When a rising edge is detected, both pulse trains will be output on the output pins of the counters. See example attached below.
2. It will not be possible for you to accomplish what you are asking with a DAQPad-6020E. E Series devices only have one analog-to-digital converter (ADC). This means that all 16 channels are multiplexed to a single ADC. This means that it will not be possible to sample(trigger) a0, a1, a2, and a3 simultaneously nor independently. Also, it is not possible to implement the 0.1ms delay from when the edg
e of the sample clock is detected. Here what you can accomplish:
1. You can use an external clock to sample(trigger)a single channel.
2. You can select if you would like the sample your signal on the rising or falling edge of your external clock(phiX).
3. You can use the output of one of the counters as your external sample clock.
I have attached two examples below. One of them generates a pulse train from counter 0. The other acquires analog data from channel 0 by using an external clock.
