Problem using Weblogic 6 and Weblogic 8.1 thin clients from same applicatio

We are developing a application where we require to communicate with 2 different ?Webogic Servers? running different versions.
First server is ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7? and the other is ?Weblogic 8.1?. We use Weblogic thin client jars to connect to these servers. Protocol used to connect to ?Weblogic 8.1? is t3 and for ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7? its t3s. But the obvious problem is that both thin client can not be used simultaneously in the same class-path. Whichever jar file appears first in the class-path, classes will be loaded from that jar. This is causing breakage in our application. If we put ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7? thin client jar first in the path, our application throws exception while connecting to ?Weblogic 8.1? and if we put ?Weblogic 8.1? jar first the path, ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7? won?t connect. Is there a workaround to handle this problem. We have admin level access to Weblogic 8.1 which mean we can change the configuration here if required but we have only user level access to ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7? and can?t do any modification in server config.
Exceptions:
Case 1: ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7? thin client jar first in class-path.
Result : connects successfully with ?Weblogic 6.1 SP7?.
throws following exception while connecting to ?Weblogic 8.1?.

I run into the problem using myfaces on webLogic 9.1.
That is... a managedBean's instance is created twice in one page.
That page is consisted with one <h:inputText> and <h:commandButton>.
After some tests, we found out that the problems happens in a JSP which has <h:inputText>...
This problem didn't happen on Tomcat or JDeveloper.
    We tried with another application.
And oh my goodness, it didn't happen.
It worked collect with no problems at all.
The difference between two application is,
the former managedBean extends abstract class,
    and the latter doesn't.
    Pls help me.....

It was a program bag rather than weblogic's problem.
In the program, it deleted all the objects in the session scope.
So, after JSF render the next JSP, it re-create a managed bean.
But, I'm still wonder why the same things didn't happen in Tomcat.
WebLogic put managed bean into the session soon after JSF
    creates it.
On the otherhand, Tomcat does that after managedbean's action
    is completed???
Considering the JSF specification, i think weblogic is right.
Cos,JSF put all the components and related managed bean
into session, in the rendering phase.
    Thanks for asking anyway.

  • Is there a problem with JMS and Weblogic?

              Hi,
I am using JMS and Weblogic (Not Message Driven bean).
My problem is that after some time my listeners disappears.
I am sending them a message and instead of 6 listeners
              I get only 4 messages.
So, My question is: Is there any problem working with JMS
              and Weblogic???
              Thanks,

Too little information and a very vague question. Need more info.

  • How to install Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal?

    Hi All,
I am new to Weblogic Portal. I would like to start learning Oracle Weblogic Portals..
Can anyone please guide me, how to install Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal?
As per the ""Tutorials – Getting Started with WebLogic Portal"" (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/tutorials/setup_dev_env.html)
we need to install the Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal.
Please suggest me where should i get the required environments/IDE?
    Thanks,
    Harish.

    Hi Harish
    1. If this is your first time with Weblogic Portal, I would recommend to download the latest Weblogic Portal Software Rel 10.3.2 from this bottom link. Check Accept Radio button, for windows download windows installer. Its about 1 GB file. This software includes Eclipse IDE, Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/wlp/index.html
    2. During the installation process, make sure at one point you select Custom mode (NOT default Typical mode). In next following screens you will see all bundles checked EXCEPT for Samples. So make sure you check Samples Check box both under Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal. Then proceed. This will install full Weblogic Workshop (Eclipse IDE), Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal. This is the good installation package. Also it will install samples for Portal and Server. If you select all default typical mode, it will NOT install samples. You can install samples later on also, but its good at installation time itself you select custom and check Samples also.
    3. WLP 10.3.2 uses Eclipse IDE. If you are familiar with Eclipse IDE this should be helpful. Otherwise also, its ok.
    4. For learning WLP, in Eclipse IDE, you need to create Portal EAR Project, then Portal Web Project. Inside portal web project create simple jsp hello world portlets and a simple portal.
    5. For Deploying and Testing Portal application you need to create Portal Domain using config wizard. You can see this from Start -> Programs -> Oracle Weblogic Portal shortcut -> Weblogic Server -> Tools -> Configuration Wizard.
    6. You can start Workshop IDE from Start -> Program Files -> Oracle Weblogic Portal ...-> Eclipse For Weblogic 10.3.2
Here are the links for quick start guide for portal development. Please do refer them.

FC/e is based upon the Quicktime-engine; so, on 'Export using QT', you'll get all codecs & settings.

due to sheer popularity, YouTube became a 'standard' - I'm happy with the convenience, YT and the 'embed'-code offers - excellent quality, automatic adjusted to the watchers connection&hardware.
    my export settings are 720p, h264, 6MBit/sec - gives a - imho! - superb quality.
(example of a 'screen-test' from my latest project CLICK )
for creating so-called 'flash video'/.flv, you need 3rd party apps.
Sorenson Squeeze is more of an pro-tool, .. you need some background knowledge to get noticeable 'better' quality.
.. and the question is: are you willing to pay $.$$$ for that 0.x% more quality .. ? does your source offers such a 101% quality, which needs such affords?
if bandwidth is an issue, because you're hosting on your own servers, consider the free codec xh264, you can install as a free QT-plug-in.. with low or super-low bitrates, it offers a superior quality compared to h264 ...

  • Using Resin and Weblogic with Apache

    Hi,
Does anybody know if i can use Weblogic to serve JSP and Resin to
    serve some servlets within Apache?
    Let me explain the case:
We are testing to setup Weblogic with Apache as the webserver.
Weblogic will be used to serve the JSP pages so i configured the
    httpd.conf as follows:
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    MatchExpression *.jsp
    WebLogicHost localhost
    WebLogicPort [port]
    </IfModule>
This works fine and i can serve the jsp-pages without any problems.
Since we work with thirdparty software we need to use Resin too. This
is not much trouble to implement in Apache and i can make sure that
some servlets are handled by caucho instead of Weblogic:
    <Location /servlet/Inventory>
    SetHandler caucho-request
    </Location>
The above request works fine too!
However i have to load the resin.conf file for full use of Resin in
Apache. This setting however implicates that JSP pages aren't served
by Weblogic anymore but are sent to Resin also. Even with the
MatchExpression setting in httpd.conf, Apache still thinks JSP needs
to be sent to Resin instead of Weblogic.
Is there some way i can make sure that the JSP pages are served by
    Weblogic and not by Resin???
    Thanx in advance

    Hi all,
Well, i figured it all out and if anyone would like to give it a try
    to, just do the following.
The mod_caucho.so file was compiled with the option to handle .jsp
files. I hashed out the following line in
    /src/c/plugin/common/config.c:
    cse_add_locatio ..... jsp etc.
And then i configure the mod_caucho.so with:
    ./configure --with-apxs=/apps/apache/bin/apxs
Now i have a perfect mod_caucho.so file which does not handle .jsp.
All calls with .jsp are processed by weblogic, just as i wanted!
Have fun with it (i shall :-)

I'm going to appreciate any help.

Did you get SSL authentication on iPlanet AND forwarding this to WLS
    working?
We can do certificate based authentication on iPlanet and the plugin
forwards this to WLS (6.0sp1). WLS does not do anything with it.
    Thanks,

  • Using SqlProvider and Weblogic authenticator in my own login page

    Hi All,
I want to use SqlProvider of weblogic server for authentication of users. For the said purpose I have made necessary steps in weblogic server console. now i want to use it in my own login page and authenticate user based on sqlProvider and wls.
Can u suggest me what to do? or where do I move next ?

Add ADF Security to your application.
    - Add the groups (the ones in your WLS) to 'Enterprise roles' (use the same name).
    - Define your 'Application Roles' (the roles you want to use in your application) and add the corresponding Enterprise roles to it.
    - Set the resource grants
    That should be it.

  • Problems with AM and WebLogic 8.1 sp3

    Hello,
The following are my environment. (both on Solaris 10)
    - Sun AM
    - WebLogic 8.1 sp3
I want to try an easy integration between AM and WebLogic. After I installed policy agent for WebLogic and properly configured. It seem to work at some basic level.
When I try to access protected resource on WebLogic. The agent can intercept and redirect to AM's login page where I enter username and password. After I enter correct username and password, it will be redirected back to my protected resource. However, this time I got error 403 forbidden.
I think this is because WebLogic doesn't know that I just already sign-in. There must be something needed to do to map AM's userid to WebLogic id.
    But I don't know how.
Could someone give me some suggestion or point me to some documents? Thanks in advance.

I meant creating a policy in the SAM web interface, where you can add the required rule (specifying resource) and the subjects to whom the policy is applicable.
Of course, if you are using J2EE_POLICY, the URL policy is of no consequence. The best practice is to use amFilter.mode = ALL, where the J2EE policies are enforced and verified by the application / app server, and the URL's are protected by SAM as well. In that case, the user has to be authorized by both SAM as well as J2EE to access the application.
This, of course, is subject to the "best of my knowledge" clause!

    Hi all,
I am using display tags taglib for generation of table. One of the columns has to be shown with the hyperlink attached to it. In order to acheive this i am using jstl taglib together with displaytags

</td>Any Ideas why this is occuring?
    Any help would be appreciated

You should be using the one or the other, not both. Since your actual code shows that you don't need the jstl/core_rt taglib (you're using the JSP EL ${ } in JSTL tags rather than scriptlets <%= %> ), just remove that taglib declaration and continue using the jstl/core taglib.
You should also rather place both the JSTL and standard JAR in the classpath of the application server. In case of Tomcat, put it in its /lib directory. Then remove all unnecessary JSTL and Standard JAR and TLD files from your whole webapplication project and also remove any related entries from the web.xml of your webapplication project. To use JSTL you only need to put the JAR files in the classpath of the application server and define the taglib in your JSP. Nothing less and nothing more. If you're using JSTL 1.2 rather than JSTL 1.1, then you need to remove the standard.jar file too since it is already merged in the jstl-1.2.jar file.
