Problem with combobox.select method in 2007A

Hi,
When I'm trying to select the empty validvalue with a combo in SBO 2007 A, I've the error "Out of Range"
myCombo.Select( 0, BoSearchKey.psk_Index);
However I'm sure that the item 0 of my ValidValues is blank.
I tried to do the same thing by value or description and it's the same problem.
Can anyone help me ?
Thanks
(I'm using 2005 version of SAPboui/bobsCom.dll)

Hi Julien,
i tried it as
oComboBox.ValidValues.Add("1", "Combo Value 1")
        oComboBox.ValidValues.Add("", "") - as you wrote
        oComboBox.ValidValues.Add("2", "Combo Value 2")
        oComboBox.ValidValues.Add("3", "Combo Value 3")
        oComboBox.Select("", SAPbouiCOM.BoSearchKey.psk_ByValue)
        oComboBox.Select(1, SAPbouiCOM.BoSearchKey.psk_Index)
and both select method work. Are you sure that you have added this blank value?
Try to debug it as
        Dim q As Integer
        Dim s As String
        For q = 0 To oComboBox.ValidValues.Count - 1
            s = oComboBox.ValidValues.Item(q).Value
        Next
maybe it helps you.

  • 2007A - Problem with Combobox.Selected with an empty value

    Hi all,
    I 've tried to launch my add-on created with SBO 2005 SP1
    on 2007 client.
    I've a problem when I try to do
    myCombobox.Selected.Value
    when the valid value is empty.
    Selected is null and I've an error.
    So I must test each Combobox by doing this :
    if( myCombobox.Selected is null)
    But I've hundreds of this case in my code.
    Does an another solution exists?
    Thanks

    you have the same problem in every business one version.
    you first have to check if the property is not null/nothing
    the only other way is that you use try / catch
    value = oform.Items.Item("cmb1").Specific.selected.value()
    Catch ex As Exception
       value = ""
    End Try
    but the effort is the same for you

    Can u solve the below doubt.
    Will renameTo method wont work in Linux? If so why?Did you not read what I said? I suspect you are trying to rename a file so that it actually has to be moved to a different volume (partition or hard disk) so it won't work. One would have the same problem on Windows trying to rename a file on the c: drive to a name on the d: drive.

    Can u give a sample or good link to do the above work which works fine in all environments.?Just follow the pseudo code I gave. 15 minutes work.

  • Problems with the dispatchEvent-Methode

    Hallo,
    I have a strange problem with above mentioned methode
    I have a JTextField, and I want that only numeric inputs are
    accepted, so I used a KeyListener -Interface in the following way
    public void keyTyped(KeyEvent e)
    JTextField field =(JTextField)e.getSource();
    char c =e.getKeyChar();
    if(c>57 | c<46 |c==47 &&c >31)
    field.dispatchEvent(e);
    the other methodes keyPressed and keyReleased are implemented in the same way.
    So if I type in now in my JTextField an 'a' or whatsoever
    then the following Exception occurs:

  • Changing variable with combobox selection - simple problem!

    Hi there,
    I have a search field when you click on search.
    I want to make it so i can change which field in a datagrid
    you search for depending on the choice in the Combbox. I'm not sure
    how to set the object name correctly depending on the combobox
    selection.
    I tried it like this, to no avail
    private var acOrder:ArrayCollection
    private var currentOrder:Object;
    ///////////////this is incorrect. What should i use instead
    of Object?//////
    private var whichArray:Object
    private function makeid():void
    whichArray = "orderid"
    private function makeemail():void
    whichArray = "email"
    private function filterByOrderid(item:Object):Boolean
    if (item.(whichArray) == filterTxt.text)
    ////I want this result to either be if (item.orderid ==
    filterTxt.text)
    ///or if (item.orderid == filterTxt.email)
    return true;
    else
    return false;
    private function doFilter():void
    if (filterTxt.text.length == 0)
    acOrder.filterFunction = null
    else
    acOrder.filterFunction = filterByOrderid;
    acOrder.refresh()
    i think answer is very simple. i just need to pass the name
    of the item inside the object correctly
    thanks very much for any help

    Hi,
    Try declaring whichArray as String and try this
    item[whichArray] instead of item.(whichArray).
    Hope this helps.

  • Custom DataGrid problems with Comboboxes

    I am using a custom datagrid with comboboxes and
    colorpickers. I found this code on the web and adapted it to work
    with my code. The only problem is that if you pull down a combobox
    and then click somewhere outside without selecting anything, it
    seems to erase the data in the dataprovider arraycollection and so
    'value' in the set data method becomes null.

    This is not a bug if I understand you properly. I believe most people would wish anything which is obtained via the tv to be backed up, which is why the content is transferred. If you want it to remain available on the tv you will need to sync it back to it.

  • Problem with a template method in JDialog

    Hi friends,
    I'm experiencing a problem with JDialog. I have a base abstract class ChooseLocationDialog<E> to let a client choose a location for database. This is an abstract class with two abstract methods:
    protected abstract E prepareLocation();
    protected abstract JPanel prepareForm();Method prepareForm is used in the constructor of ChooseLocationDialog to get a JPanel and add it to content pane.
    Method prepareLocation is used to prepare location of a database. I have to options - local file and networking.
    There are two subclasses ChooseRemoteLocationDialog and ChooseLocalFileDialog.
    When I start a local version, ChooseLocalFileDialog with one input field for local file, everything works fine and my local client version starts execution.
    The problem arises when I start a network version of my client. Dialog appears and I can enter host and port into the input fields. But when I click Select, I get NullPointerException. During debugging I noticed that the values I entered into these fields ("localhost" for host and "10999" for port) were not set for corresponding JTextFields and when my code executes getText() method for these input fields it returns empty strings. This happens only for one of these dialogs - for the ChooseRemoteLocationDialog.
    The code for ChooseLocationDialog class:
    public abstract class ChooseLocationDialog<E> extends JDialog {
         private E databaseLocation;
         private static final long serialVersionUID = -1630416811077468527L;

    What a silly error! I have to call Integer.parseInt instead of getInt. Integer.getInt tries to find a system property. A small misprint, but a huge amount of time to debug. I always use parseInt method and couldn't even notice that silly misprint. Sometimes it's useful to see the trees instead of whole forest :)
    It works perfectly. Sorry for disturbing.

  • Problems with customizing select lists and popup LOVs

    Hi
    I have 2 problems about select lists and popup LOVs.
    The first one is about a select list in a tabular form.
    It should be created with APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV or similar and take its values from a named LOV.
    This worked fine but now it should also have the possibility to enter a free value.
    I tried to accomplish that by creating a APEX_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_LOV, but there is a problem with the function that is called by the arrow icon right to the input field (for eg. genList_f11_5()).
    If the row is added by addRow, then it works fine, but if the row is is not empty
    then the function call is like genList_f11_$_row() and the input field gets no value, when a LOV option is selected.
    The other problem is about a select list which should have the possibility to enter a custom value and
    also there should be the possibility to select several values. I tried to implement this by a text area containing the selected values and a multiple select list, with an event handler in each option. The user could click options and they would be copied to the text area. The problem is that I couldn't make the event handler work in IE.
    I would appreciate any ideas about either of these problems.

    Hi,
    If you download application you can see source.
    I have not write any instructions, sorry.
    If you are on Apex 4 you can just load jQuery UI autocomplete library and take ideas from my app.
    If you download my sample in zip there is uncompressed htmldbQuery library.
    You can see that and take only function htmldbAutocomplete.
    Then check jQuery UI document
    http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/#method-search
    There is method search that you can use open list just by click of input.
    I hope this helps at start.

  • [SOLVED][GRUB]Install problem with the new method

    Hi,
    it is not my first install of Arch Linux but I have a problem with this new kind of installation method, especially with GRUB.
    Here is my hard drives configuration :
    /dev/sda1 -> SSD 120 GB ntfs (windows)
    /dev/sdb1 -> HD 1 TB ext4 (data)
    /dev/sdc :
    /dev/sdc1 -> ext2 /boot
    /dev/sdc2 -> swap
    /dev/sdc3 -> ext4 /
    /dev/sdc5 -> ext4 /home
    During the installation, I installed grub (with grub-install) in /dev/sdc. I assumed it was the correct drive to install it but apparently not, Windows starts automatically and I don't have the grub menu.
    Should I install my system again or is there a way to boot on the livecd and install it ?
    Should I :
    1) mount /dev/sdc3 in /mnt then /dev/sdc1 in /mnt/boot and finally /dev/sdc5 in /mnt/home
    2) pacstrap /mnt grub-bios
    3) arch-chroot
    4) grub-install
    Thank you.

    If you set whatever drive "/dev/sdc" is (brand and model) to boot first in the BIOS, all you need to do is install a bootloader on Arch. You don't even need a separate boot partition. It will use the /boot folder on root partition. Then install os-prober (if you don't already have this installed) and re-generate the .cfg.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … bootloader
    The problem is that I cannot select another hard drive. The only one available for the boot order is the Samsung 830 series (/dev/sda with Windows).
    The other options are the CD drive and removable disk.
    I checked that this morning, maybe I was too tired. I will check again this evening.
    But if I am right and I cannot select my intel SSD (containing my arch setup) for the boot order, would the solution I described work ? I don't see why not but my knowledge are basic in Linux.
    Thank you again for your help.

  • Problem with comboBox editor

    Hi experts,
    i am keeping a combobox renderer and editor in my JTable for 2 columns say 5th column and 7th column.
    In renderer no Problem.
    But while i am editing ,whenever i am choosing a perticular item from the drop down in the first row of table,it is affecting the remaining set of rows.,not all the rows also.
    for example,next 5 rows are getting the same selected value.
    next some 2 rows are getting affected.
    the below 2 class are my renderer and editor.public class ComboBoxRenderer extends JComboBox implements TableCellRenderer {
            public ComboBoxRenderer(String[] items) {
                            super(items);
            public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table, Object value, boolean isSelected, boolean hasFocus, int row, int column) {
                    if (isSelected) {
                    // Select the current value
                    setSelectedItem(value);
                    return this;
    }My ComboBox editor is public class ComboBoxEditor extends DefaultCellEditor {
            public ComboBoxEditor(String[] items) {
                   super(new JComboBox(items));
    }so i am using this render and editor in my swing screen by the following codeString strSP[] = {"P", "O", "H", " "};
    column5.setCellEditor(new ComboBoxEditor(strSP));
    column5.setCellRenderer(new ComboBoxRenderer(strSP));I am sure like the problem with my renderer and editoronly,but i am helpless.
    Please if someone help me to come out of this problem,it will be much helpful for me .
    thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for u'r reply
    I tried in so many ways.
    I tried with u'r editor,and sun forum examples also.
    I brief what i want.
    I am having table with 3 column.
    The zeroth col, and the 2 col is a combo box.so i am rendering.
    when i choose a one from zeroth col combo Box ,the 2nd col ComboBox value has to change into YES
    when i choose a apart from one from zeroth col combo Box ,the 2nd col combo Box value has to change into NO.
    Here my Problem is
    When ever i am choosing the particular value from the 1st combo box,it is affecting the all the combobox values below(set of values,not all)..To solve that i kept the commented line in the renderer but it is creating the new problem.
    I am very seriously working to solve this problem,if any one suggest to solve this,it will be very much helpful to me.

  • Problem with cell selected and editing

    Hi!
    I set JTextField as a cell editor in table.
    1.When I selected cell wih mouse the method isCellEditable(EventObject anEvent) of DefaulCellEditor is call. OK. But when I selected cell with keyboard, this method DO NOT CALL. Why? How I can understand that any cell is in focus (without double click in cell).
    2. When I double click on cell and start type the methods of KeyListeners (keyPressed and so on) are calls. OK. But when I only select cell (caret is not blink in cell) and start type the methods of KeyListeners DO NOT CALL. Why? And how I can get what I was typed in this case?
    Thank you.
