  • Discover group problem with cross tab report

Hi, I'm working on a cross tab report in discoverer 4i and I'm having a problem with two of the colums. I'm doing a count on one field but because they are called something different they are being shown as two seperate columns rather than 1.
I have one called 101 -AVG and another called 101-AVG. My condition pulls every result back that starts with 101 in the table. So because in the table the values are different it breaks the count into totals for 101 -AVG and 101-AVG.
Is there some way I can group these results together into one field?
    thanks,
    Ian

  • Problem with Cross tabs

I have a problem with cross tab.
When I do grouping on date according to month and summarize the units I am getting the result as 58
while I do grouping without the croos tab generally in the details section I get the result to be 64.
I am not able to understand where is the problem.
Even when I write a query i get the answer as 64.

    Hi,
Summarizing with a Cross-tab and creating a summary of a group are one and the same; I mean, the summary results are always the same.
Could you check the summary operation in the crosstab, could you confirm if it is not count or something else?
Also, create a summary and place it on the Group Header/Footer. It should be same as the Crosstab results for the that particular group.

  • Problem with Cross Tab in Live Office Connectivity

    Hi Experts,
I am using Live Office Connectivity to build a Xcelsius Dashboard.
The webi Report has data in 4 cross tabs which comes to Xcelsius as 4 LO Connections.
The size of the Xcelsius Doc is around 900K. I am getting "Xcelcius has stopped working " error when i preview the document.
Earlier i have built dashboards on Webi Report which used Verticle tables(more than 1 MB in size). I am able to preview them and generate SWF without any problem.
I am working on Xcelsius SP3 on Vista OS with 2 GB RAM.
Is using Cross Tab, responsible for the Application Crash or any other reason?
Please help me in solving the above problem at the earliest.
Please let me know if you need any further information on the same.
    TIA,
    Bhargava Bommidi.

    Bhargava,
Webi cross tabs via Live Office connection should work. Pls see this [post|Re: Does Xcelsius support Cross Tab report via Live Office?; for more detail.
Pls let me know what version of Xcelsius you are using because this error is known to popup when some of the dlls are not registered as well.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

  • Problem with cross tab

    Hello,
I want to use a crosstab within Crystal Report Studio to display the revenues of several months of each customer in a single row. (in the underlying database the revenues of each month are stored in a seperate row). So far so good.
I have put the customer id to the row, the date_id to the column and the kpi revenue as group field.
But I want to use further describing db columns in front of the kpi, additionally to the customer id, for example the customer name, customer city and so on. But I don't know how I can do this. Is there any possibility?
I don't want to create a formular and concatenate the columns, because then I don't have the columns of the different customers amoung each other.
    So is there another approach.
    Many tahnsk,
    Stefen

You  can add as many columns or rows as  you want.
In your case, you can add Customer name, City etc as rows next to customer id. By default 'subtotals' for each of the row will be added.
Since you dont want any subtotals, right click on the cross tab, select crosstab expert, uncheck 'Suppress subtotal' checkbox under 'Customize Style' tab.
    Hope this helps

  • Page Footer on Cross Tab Reports

How do I get the page footer to show up on all the pages of the Cross-Tab.  I have a report where the columns spill over to the second page, but nothing from the footer prints on the second page.  It is only printing on the first page.

I also have a similar problem on cross-tab reports when the rows result in additional pages.
If I place the page numbers in the page footer, it only appears on the last page of the report.  If I place the page numbers anywhere else on the report, it doesn't show up at all, on any pages.   Where can I place it so it will print all the pages, regardless of the number of pages that result because of the growing columns or rows?
    Thanks.

  • How to calculate difference in cross tab report

    Hello All,
I have a cross tab report . I have values for 2 KPI's no of employees joined and no of employees left organization on monthly basis.
I want to calculate employees Joined - employees left organization.
Please let me know how can we achieve this.
    PFA the sample report.
    Regards
    Prasad Ambati

    Hi Prasad,
I think you want the difference between the two columns in the cross tab i.e.
"Count of Joinees" (lets say V1) and "Count of employees left the organisation" (lets say V2)
For achieving this you can do:
    1. Create a variable V1 (as measure) for "Count of Joinees" as you have already used in your cross tab (1st Column), just create a variable for it.
    2. Create another variable V2 (as measure) for "Count of employees left the organisation" as you have already used in your cross tab (2nd column) just create a variable for it.
    3. Add a column next to "SUM" insert the formula =[V1]-[V2]
I think this should work just try it.
    Thanks,
    Shardendu Pandey

try this, there must be simpler one i guess...
    1. take a form field, and make its type as number. Paste the below one <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1',2)?>
    2. now take a table with as below,
    A l B |
    C l D1 l D2 l E1 l E2 l
observe that i. A, C are in one column
ii. cell B is on top of D1, D2
iii. we have no cell on top of E1 and E2 cells
iv. 'l' represents the wall of the cell :)
    A: <?horizontal-break-table:1?> SCHEMECODE
    B: <?for-each-group@column:G_SCHEMECODE;ASSET_TYPE?> <?ASSET_TYPE?> <?end for-each?>
    C: <?for-each-group:G_SCHEMECODE;SCHEMECODE?> <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1',2)?> <?SCHEMECODE?>
    D1: <?for-each-group@cell:current-group();ASSET_TYPE?> <?MARGIN?> <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1',xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'v1')-1)?>
    D2: <?AMOUNT_SECURED?> <?end for-each?> <?end for-each?>

  • Cross Tab report in RTF

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a cross tab report in RTF, it is a time sheet report and the data needs to be print based on the days of week
the report should print in below format
Week: Dec 08 TO Dec 14
Employee                 Sun          Mon          Tue          Wed          Thu          Fri          Sat
                                         Dec08     Dec09       Dec10     Dec11         Dec12     Dec13     Dec14
              EMP1                    0                0               8            0                8
              EMP2                    0                0               8            9               10
I could get the correct grouping of week range and dates, however the number of hours are not printing in correct cell,
for ex. EMP1 has worked 2 days (dec 10th & 11th) but my rtf output is printing that number of hours under Dec 08th & dec 09 th respectively.
Need your help in understanding what is wrong with my RTF template.

The RTF and XML is available in below link,
    https://app.box.com/s/vk2tb5xpuce9ccyvpz0c
In the XML the data is available for only a few days for each user, however when there is no working hours for a user in a day of the week we have to keep 0 hrs else the number of hours worked on that day.
    Thanks

  • Help with formatting for Cross Tab Report Crystal 2008

This is probably a simple question.  I have a cross tab report that displays sales by month for a period of 6 months.  These sales columns are formatted to be numbers with no decimals.  In addition to these columns, I have inserted columns that display the percentage up/down in sales over the previous month.  If I try to format the percentage columns, it changes every column to then display "##,##.##%" when I need to keep the sales columns at "##,###" with no decimal or percentage sign.
    1.  Is there a way to change the formatting of some of the columns but not all in a cross tab report?
    2.  If not, can I add a function that would change these in the calculation formula of the calculated member?
I tried to add "%" but it wants it to return a number.
    Here is the current code:
//The calculation formula is used in place of the summaries in Calculated Members.
// This calculation formula must return a/an Number value.
    If GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex) = 0 then 0 else
    ((GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-1,CurrentSummaryIndex) -
    GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex)) /
    GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex)) * 100
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tobi

    Carl,
Thank you for your help.  I did try your method but still couldn't get it to ignore the fact that it wanted a number.  I changed my approach a litte and managed to solve the problem.  Here is the method that I chose which managed to solve the problem.  If this is a poor way to solve it, please let me know as I am always open for new ways.
Format Field > Number Tab > Customize > Currency  Symbol Tab
Checked Enable Currency Symbol Fixed, changed  currency symbol to %.  This is the same thing that I did before which changes it for all columns.
Beside Enable Currency checkbox, I added this formula:
// This conditional formatting formula must return one of the following Currency Symbol Constants:
    // crNoCurrencySymbol
    // crFixedCurrencySymbol
    // crFloatingCurrencySymbol
    If GridRowColumnValue("InvoiceLine.TxnDate") = Date(0,0,0) then
        crFixedCurrencySymbol
    else
        crNoCurrencySymbol
My added columns have a null date field so they take the currency format.  My other columns do not so they do not take the formatting.
    Thanks again for the help.

  • How to create cross tab reports using RAS SDK api with Crystal Reports XI

    Hi Everybody,
Iam generating reports in a web-based application with Crystal Reports XI using Report Application Server(RAS) SDK API. The columns in my report exceed that of an A4 sized page. So, when I export that report to pdf, only those columns that fit to a page are showing up. To solve, this problem, I thought of using cross tab. But, I donot know how to generate cross tab report using RAS SDK API. I have tried to get some code from the internet. But, I did not find any java code for that. Can some one give me some sample code.It is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The easiest way I use is to create the worksheet as regular table and then when i verify the data I get (non aggregate) I duplicate it as a cross tab.
In the duplication wizard I just need to define the axis (using drag and drop).
if you want to create a cross tab from the beginning you need to define that in the new workbook wizard (check the "cross tab" rather then "table"), chose your fields and define the place you want them.
The data point (the center of the cross tab) is aggregated as to your machine definition and will happen automatically.
for example: to find the amount of receipt by months:
On the left put the "Buyer Name", on top put the "Months" and in the data point put the amount.
What you'll get is something like:
months: jan feb mar apr ......
    buyer_name
    jhon_smith 100 50 30 250 ......
    jhon_doe 80 45 90 453 ........
    and so on.....
