Problem with CrystalDecisions namespace

I am running VS2010 10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel on Vista Business SP2 fully patched.  I installed Crystal Reports for VS2010 13.0.1.  Yesterday Visual Studio crashed while I was working on a project containing two crystal reports.  Today I have another problem.  I cannot create a new project using a crystal report.  If I create a simple windows form project, add a dataset and datatable, and then add a Crystal Report, I cannot build the project.  I get a series of 25 warnings and errors, but I suspect that they all boil down to a namespace issue.  The 'hidden code' for the crystal report shows that these Imports statments are failing.
Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
Imports CrystalDecisions.ReportSource
Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared
The error is "Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found'  I get the corresponding message for all three.  What can I do about this?

This is documented in our knowledge base. See the article below.

  • Problem with old namespace in WSDL file

    I have a problem with my WSDL file.  My scenario is SOAP to IDOC.
    Originally the ESB data types were configured under namespace urn:test1:xxx  for development purposes.  When it came time to implement and test, we copied the data types from the old name space to a new namespace http://company.com:interface.
    After the new objects were created, all the old test objects were deleted, including the old namespace definition.  Now when I generate the WSDL file, the top part of the WSDL file looks correct, but toward the bottom, there are references to the old namespace.
    Does anyone know why these reference are appearing, and is there any way to correct this without deleting all my objects and rebuilding everything?
    Thanks in advance for any help.  Will award points for help.
    Terri

    Found the problem....the XML namespace in the Message type still contained the old namespace.  When this was changed to the new namespace, second target namespace was no longer generated.

  • XSLT Problem with soap namespace

    Hi there,
    I have a problem transforming an XML doc with soap elements, using XSLT (Xalan).
    Here's the input:
    <?xml version = "1.0" encoding = "ISO-8859-1"?>
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns="http://www.ean.nl">
      <testthis>123456</testthis>
    </soap:Envelope>and here's the XSL:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xsl:transform xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" exclude-result-prefixes="soap">
    <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/>
    <xsl:template match="soap:Envelope">
    <Orders>
         <H01>
              <xsl:value-of select="testthis"/>
         </H01>
    </Orders>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:transform>I expect to get something like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Orders>
    <H01>123456<H01>
    <Orders>But instead I get:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Orders>
    <H01/>
    </Orders>I've tried a lot of things and I'm probably overseeing something stupid, but I'm stuck.
    It seems as if anything without soap: namespace cannot be processed by my XSL (when I add it in the input XML and XSL it works).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Greetings,
    Erik

    Yes, I found it!
    The following XSL for the same XML doc works!
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xsl:transform xmlns:ean="http://www.ean.nl" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" exclude-result-prefixes="soap">
    <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/>
    <xsl:template match="soap:Envelope">
    <Orders>
         <H01>
              <xsl:value-of select="ean:testthis"/>
         </H01>
    </Orders>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:transform>Thanks, you pointed me in the right direction :-)

  • Problem with default namespaces

    Hello,
    I'm using version 2.3.10 of Berkeley XML.
    All my XML documents have a default namespace declared in the root element, like this:
    <rootElement xmlns="http://www....something.../something">
    but I get errors when I query the documents - and the only way of avoiding the errors seems to be by manually removing the default namespace attribute.
    I tried setting the XmlQueryContext.setNamespace("", myUri) - but it doesn't work. I saw this mentioned in another post - and you said it was scheduled to work that way in the next release.
    Can you tell me when the next release will be, and what I can do right now to get around this problem. I need to keep the xmlns attribute in the root element since I have other applications which need to access the documents before I put them into the database and they make use of it.
    Kind Regards
    Swami Kevala

    Hi Swami,
    You have two options:
    1) Bind a prefix to your namespace URI, and use that prefix in your queries:
    XmlQueryContext.setNamespace("pre", myUri);
    XmlManager.query("/pre:rootElement", qc);
    2) Bind the default element namespace inside the query:
    XmlManager.query("declare default element namespace \"" + myUri + "\"; /rootElement", qc);

  • Problem with the namespace in the soap message ' xmlns:p1'

    Hi,

  • Problem with xml namespace

    Hi,
    I want to convert a csv-file that has follow structure as textfile:
    field1,field2,field3
    in a xml-file.
    I also have created a mapping, so I get a mapping error when i want to convert the txt-file to xml
    In the message monitoring the generated xml-file has follow structure:
    <ns:target>
      <Recordset>
         <source>
           <source_value_1>Source_value_1</source_value_1>
           <source_value_2>source_value_2</source_value_2>
           <source_value_3>source_value_3</source_value_3>
         </source>
      </Recordset>
    </ns:target>
    and the xsd has follow structure:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified">
         <xs:element name="source">
              <xs:annotation>
                   <xs:documentation>Comment describing your root element</xs:documentation>
              </xs:annotation>
              <xs:complexType>
                   <xs:sequence>
                        <xs:element name="source_value_1" minOccurs="0"/>
                        <xs:element name="source_value_2" minOccurs="0"/>
                        <xs:element                             name="source_value_3" minOccurs="0"/>
                   </xs:sequence>
              </xs:complexType>
         </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>
    So I get an error that there is a conflict in the namespace.
    Can ynybody help me please.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
    I do not think that your problem is the difference between xs and ns.
    Indeed <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" >
    and
    <ns:schema xmlns:ns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" >
    are logically equivalent.
    Also
    <ns:schema xmlns:ns="http://www.im-c.de/test_01">
    and
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.im-c.de/test_01">
    are logically equivalent.
    The problem is rather that in the first case the schema element belongs to the namespace
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema
    whereas in the second case it belongs to the namespace
    http://www.im-c.de/test_01
    It is not clear to me how the second element was exactly produced but to me this seems not to make sense.
    Greetings

  • Http - file - problem with sender namespace

    Hi,
    We are receiving data via http. When I'm testing the flow throught a http-testapplication everything runs correct and when I look in "monitor for processes xml messges" the namespce is the right one. But when the customer sends testdata via a web dispatcher the sender namespace gets all messed up. I get urn3Asd3Awms with is an incorrect namespace. Does anyone know what the error can be.
    Best Regards
    Claes

    Hi,
    They are now sending text/xml but i still get the same error. According to the sender they are using the exact same http-link that I am providing (and which is working for me) but i still get the error with an incorrect namespace.
    Barry; it seems to be as you say that the characters are converted into html on the way to xi.
    Sarath; i'm not using the namespace in the payload. What du you mean by the escape characters? Do I use them in the http-link?
    Please help!
    Best Regards

  • Performance problems with DFSN, ABE and SMB

    Hello,
    We have identified a problem with DFS-Namespace (DFSN), Access Based Enumeration (ABE) and SMB File Service.
    Currently we have two Windows Server 2008 R2 servers providing the domain-based DFSN in functional level Windows Server 2008 R2 with activated ABE.
    The DFSN servers have the most current hotfixes for DFSN and SMB installed, according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968429/en-us and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2473205/en-us
    We have only one AD-site and don't use DFS-Replication.
    Servers have 2 Intel X5550 4 Core CPUs and 32 GB Ram.
    Network is a LAN.
    Our DFSN looks like this:
    \\contoso.com\home
        Contains 10.000 Links
        Drive mapping on clients to subfolder \\contoso.com\home\username
    \\contoso.com\group
        Contains 2500 Links
        Drive mapping on clients directly to \\contoso.com\group
    On \\contoso.com\group we serve different folders for teams, projects and other groups with different access permissions based on AD groups.
    We have to use ABE, so that users see only accessible Links (folders)
    We encounter sometimes multiple times a day enterprise-wide performance problems for 30 seconds when accessing our Namespaces.
    After six weeks of researching and analyzing we were able to identify the exact problem.
    Administrators create a new DFS-Link in our Namespace \\contoso.com\group with correct permissions using the following command line:
    dfsutil.exe link \\contoso.com\group\project123 \\fileserver1\share\project123
    dfsutil.exe property sd grant \\contoso.com\group\project123 CONTOSO\group-project123:RX protect replace
    This is done a few times a day.
    There is no possibility to create the folder and set the permissions in one step.
    DFSN process on our DFSN-servers create the new link and the corresponding folder in C:\DFSRoots.
    At this time, we have for example 2000+ clients having an active session to the root of the namespace \\contoso.com\group.
    Active session means a Windows Explorer opened to the mapped drive or to any subfolder.
    The file server process (Lanmanserver) sends a change notification (SMB-Protocol) to each client with an active session \\contoso.com\group.
    All the clients which were getting the notification now start to refresh the folder listing of \\contoso.com\group
    This was identified by an network trace on our DFSN-servers and different clients.
    Due to ABE the servers have to compute the folder listing for each request.
    DFS-Service on the servers doen't respond for propably 30 seconds to any additional requests. CPU usage increases significantly over this period and went back to normal afterwards. On our hardware from about 5% to 50%.
    Users can't access all DFS-Namespaces during this time and applications using data from DFS-Namespace stop responding.
    Side effect: Windows reports on clients a slow-link detection for \\contoso.com\home, which can be offline available for users (described here for WAN-connections: http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2011/12/14/slow-link-with-windows-7-and-dfs-namespaces.aspx)
    Problem doesn't occure when creating a link in \\contoso.com\home, because users have only a mapping to subfolders.
    Currently, the problem doesn't occure also for \\contoso.com\app, because users usually don't use Windows Explorer accessing this mapping.
    Disabling ABE reduces the DFSN freeze time, but doesn't solve the problem.
    Problem also occurs with Windows Server 2012 R2 as DFSN-server.
    There is a registry key available for clients to avoid the reponse to the change notification (NoRemoteChangeNotify, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812669/en-us)
    This might fix the problem with DFSN, but results in other problems for the users. For example, they have to press F5 for refreshing every remote directory on change.
    Is there a possibility to disable the SMB change notification on server side ?
    TIA and regards,
    Ralf Gaudes

  • Mapping: Problem with Namespaces while testing

    Hello,
    can anyone tell me what's the thing with the namespace in xml-messages for testing?
    My problem is the following: I have exported a test-xml-file from a mapping in another namespace (where everything is correct) and now i want to import this xml-file in my new mapping (another namespace).
    I found out that i have to change the given "xmlns:ns" attribute from the original namespace to the software component version (!!!), in which my new mapping is. Otherwise the file can't be imported correctly in my new mapping.
    Can you tell me the cause for this curious case, so that i don't have to search for my problem the next time...?
    Thanks in advance,
    best regards, Leo

    Hi Suraj,
    Your answer is not quite plain to me, sorry.
    Perhaps you can tell my with an example. My original xml looks like the following:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ns:VDA490500 xmlns:ns="http://mynamespace.com/basis">
    <S511>
      <SATZART>511</SATZART>
      <VNR>02</VNR>
      <KNDNR>1234</KNDNR>
    </S511>
    <S519>
      <SATZART>519</SATZART>
    </S519>
    </ns:VDA490500>
    Now the namespace of my new mapping is another, and i only accomplished my problem by changing it to
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ns:VDA490500 xmlns:ns="<b>NewSoftwareComponentVersion</b>">
    <S511>
    All other trials didn't work.
    Can you show me what you meant, and perhaps can you tell me why?
    Thank you,
    Leo

    # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'
    # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a
    # <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
    # any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
    # All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
    # in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
    # virtual host being defined.
    # Port: The port to which the standalone server listens. Certain firewall
    # products must be configured before Apache can listen to a specific port.

    Secondly, I'm confused by your comment -
    I do not have Apache 9.3 or higher but I think oracle should offer this in its companion CDOracle does offer the Apache server, if you're saying you didn't get it from Oracle then where did your Apache server come from?

  • Problem with variables in formulas when using CrystalReportViewer

    Post Author: Aksu
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hi! I have a problem with variables in Crystal Reports formulas, when using CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer class from VS2005-project. ReportViewer always gives error:*************Crystal Report Windows Forms ViewerThis field name is not known.Details: errorKindError in File C:\{dir&#93;}\{file}.rpt:Error in formula <mCustomerAttributes>.'Dim result As String'This field name is not known.Details: errorKind ************* Report without variables works fine with Viewer and in Crystal Reports Designer report with variables works also fine. I have tried with both "formula-syntaxes" - basic and crystal. But Viewer always gives error when trying to define new variable.I think the problem might be with CR -versions, because VS-project has formerly been designed to VS2003 and CR9 or 10. Now I'm using VS2005 and CR11. Though I have changed all references to new CrystalDecisions-asseblies (Ver.11.0.3300.0), when I debug the project and checkout the Viewers ReportSources FormatEngine Shows version CR9_2.... I'd really appreciate it... ---Aksu

    Has anyone been able to answer this question?
    I am having the same problem:
    I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
    I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer.  The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
    I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI.  I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
    When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
    Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
    Error in formula <Report Format>.
    'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
    This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
    This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
    I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula.  If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
    Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?
    Thanks,
    Tim H.

  • Problem with attachment in web service

    I'm writing a WebService under WebLogic 9.2 . My WebService API needs to recive and return an attachment. I'm tring to use a javax.activation.DataHandler object for the attachment, but for some reason in the WSDL file that being created, the DataHandler isn't being recognize and the "http://www.bea.com/servers/wls90/wsee/attachment" namespace is being associated with it (I'm using "jwsc" in the build.xml).
    Does anyone encounter with problem ? and does the DataHandler is the right object to use for attachment (i want to avoid using base-64 String)?

  • Problems with Java and Business Objects

    <p>Hello everybody,<br /><br />I&#39;m new in BusinessObjects/Crystal Report. Now, I have some problems with Business Objects for Java (Business Objects XI Release 2 Developer).</p><p> </p><p>1)  I create a report in the report designer. This report has a parameterfield. Before I run this report within a jsp web application I want fill the parameterfield with some values from the database. I found the following code snippet for this problem in your forum. But it don&#39;t works right, because it occurs a simple input field instead of a combo box with my database values. Where is my mistake? I need the combo box!
