Problem with File download in ALV via ITS. Please help!

Hi Experts,
I have a ALV report which I have web enabled using ITS service. In the ALV there is a delivered functionality for file download. It works fine when the report is run in the SE80. But when I run the ITS service for the report and choose file download option it displays a page saying "this page has been diaplayed due to technical reasons" with title "File properties". In addition it looks for Java runtime in the browser. After all this it opens a popup window for selecting path and file name.
This is not user friendly and many customers have rasied their concerns on it.
My question is that,
Q1: What is the need of this "File properties page"? Why ITS calls this while ABAP editor does not?
Q2: Is there any way we can suppress this so that it directly opens a popup window for selecting path and file name?
Please help me.

We have in between installed patch 22 for ITS 6.20 and SP18 at SAP Netweaver 2004!
But they are still not processed invisible for the users.
Are there any additional parameters, which controls this behaviour(~webgui_updown_make_visible is not used!)?
How can i check, if i have really a.ex. the actual ws.jar-file or other related files of the patch?
We are using the standalone ITS with an own (modified) IAC with an own CI-design for the webpages. The intermediate screens are displayed with the "normal" SAPGUI-design because of the parameter ~generatedynpro. Without this it does not work, because the template SAPLSIT_0100 is missing!
Or do you have an example for such a intermediate template with the applet for an upload of a file?

Problem with FIle DownLoad

Hi All,
I am working on project where I need to display all the files (on the UI screen)which are in windows folder with a download link.
I used IWDDownload UI element for downloading the file. Its working fine but problem is , when ever I download a file for first time its working fine. Later what ever I download other files, I was able to see only first file download. I guess this is problem with context binding but I am not sure.
I used for loop to iterate all the files in folder and I binded the file name to IWD Download UI element using bindText option.I am creating UI elements dynamically in wdDoModifyView and it will call another method to bind to context.(As SAP Suggested not to modify any context elements in wdDoModifyView method).
Please help me in this regard.

Ramesh,
You need N dynamic binary attributes or IWDResource (in newer versions), one per file. Create them either in wdDoInit of view or in some suitable action handler.
Then you have to populate IWDResource or set bytes of binary attributes. Check corresponding WD tutorials how to do this.
In wdDoModifyView create IWDFileDownload control per every attribute and bind either "data" property (to binary attribute) or "resource".

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Problem With File Download Dialog Box

Hi all,
I have jsp page that allows a user to export oracle data to excel.
I have these code in my page:

I run the page and it popups a file download dialog box with Open and Save buttons.
When I click the Save button a Save As window opens with a hr.xsl file name and Microsoft Excel Workbook(*.xls) as save type. It is what I want.
The problem I have is when I click the Open button on the file download dialog box it displays data in excel format on a browser well. Then I click File > save as on browser's tool bar the Save As window pop up with no file name and a default Text(tab delimited)(*.txt).
I need the file name and Microsoft Excel Workbook(*.xls) as default save type.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When user click on "Open", Excel start and open excel file correctly but the file name on excel title bar. 'Cause the file name is in Japanese characters. Any one can help me?

Problem with file downloads - please help

Good morning. Since upgrading to BT Infinity 2, I have been experiencing the following problems:
Cannot update Sonos firmware to version 5 - download times out and gives error 30
Cannot download most files from safari - all start for the first few kb and then just hang
Cannot download larger PDF files from Mac Mail
These problems manifest themselves over wireless and wired connections, with the BT Homehub 5 and an Asus router. My ipad has no problems when on other networks or if I access my email from my work computer. When talking to BT technical support over the chat facility yesterday the connection dropped once every 10-30 seconds before reconnecting again. All of this leads me to believe that I have an intermittent failure on my broadband connection however BT insist that there is nothing wrong with the line or the router. I have changed channels on my router but this does not seem to make things better. Internet is working fine on all my devices for web browsing - only file downloads experiencing problems.
Please help.

Oh sorry, I thought from your description you were using an ASUS connected to the HH5, but it turns out you're using them separately.
Is there a firmware update you can get on the ASUS?

Partial Submit problem with file download listener

I am exporting a table to PDF in my jspx page. For this i have written below code:-

After downloading pdf when i click anyother button i get an alert saying...DO YOU WANT TO RESEND THE INFORMATION TO SERVER?
I don't want this behaviour but i am unable to debug this. Please help.

Problems with WRT54 V.7 (V7.00.4) :please help me!...

I've just installed (two days ago) this device and it's so annoying.i've been with the chat support of linksys for hours and they could not help!
These are the problems:
My laptop "see" the router but u can't access the internet,although that when i try to check and connect the laptop via direct cable it's doing that with no problem.
U can see that the signal is strong but u just cannot access the net.
My second device:an asus a636 pocket pc can see the router only on a few times:most of the time i just can't "See" the router,and when it does see it sometime,u cannot surf the internet as well.
(i must point out that i surf the internet using th pocket pc with no problem on many public places...)
I tried to restart,reinstalling the firmware (v7.00.4) a few times,and configured the router again,but it didn't solve anything.
To add to that:the setup cd/wizard didn't work at all and started the debugger of the windows (Win2000),and even when u try to download the setup from linksys site,it's doing the same and starting the debugger,so i installed the 7.00.4 firmware using the tftp.exe program.
What else can i do so this device can work properly??it's so frustrating!!!

Hi… Try changing the Wireless Channel on this router and check the Wireless Security mode. Make sure it is supported by your OS / wireless adapter. Select proper security key and try to connect to this wireless network. Once connected, check the IP address on the PC and try to ping to Router and DNS servers. Revert back with your findings.

Extreme problems with airport and harddrive no pun intended. please help.

okay experts, please help. i have a lacie brick 500gb external drive that i got yesterday. i attatched it to the airport and the drive showed up on the desktop fine and dandy. the problem was that no backup software would recognize that a hard drive was attatched. i was given some advice to format the hard disk for apple using disk utility. i did that and it finished formatting this morning. (i had to do all this by plugging the hard drive in directly to the computer's usb port, it wouldn't let me do it attatched to the airport) now the dilemma is that when i attatch it to the airport, the disk no longer even shows up on the desktop, or anywhere else. wen i go to airport utility, manual setup and disks, it shows the hard drive there, but nowhere else. i know it isn't a problem with the hard drive because when plugged in directly to the computer, everything works fine. can someone please give me a run through of the settings i need to have set? i'm quite sure it is correct. i am just frustrated beyond belief getting this hard drive to work via the airport. thank you very much guys and gals.

okay. finally, it is on the desktop, but not how it should be. superduper or the lacie backup system still doesn't recognize it as a disk. when i plug in the h.d. to the computer usb port it shows up as an orange icon on the desktop and is recognized by the software. but when i plug it in via the airport it shows up on the desktop as a different icon, like a box and isn't recognized by the software. what on earth is going on?
this is driving me mad.

You need to make sure that your backup software supports Bonjour(network attached) devices. I use the mac backup program and it recognizes AEBSn disk devices.

Problem with file download through JSP under WLS6.1 SP3

We're in the process of trying to migrate from WLS 6.1 SP1 to SP3, and we're encountering
some difficulties with this migration.
I'm attaching a very simple JSP here - it's a snippet from a larger more dynamic
JSP, that I managed to narrow down to a pretty simple case which still doesn't
work.
This JSP opens a file residing at "c:\\BDELog.txt" (it's hardcoded - so change
it to any textual local file on your machine in order to test it), and writes
it to the output stream as a txt attachment.
This JSP works perfectly well on SP1, however, on SP3, it fails only during the
first hit. If you call this JSP again from the same browser window - it'll work.
Needless to say - this isn't an acceptable behavior for a website.

so it seems that struts forward in oracle have to be only text/html files
but i don't wanto to go tio another page, just download a file on the same page
after some control in my action.

Hi, I have adobe photoshop cs5 which i download from the adobe website. i downloaded it on my laptop, which has since stopped working properly. so i deactivated it permanently like a website said i should. i already have creative cloud on my new laptop, and I've been using the trial so far. its expired now, so i entered the serial code for my photoshop from my old computer. but it didn't work! it says the number is invalid. even without deactivating my old photoshop it should have worked because you are supposedly allowed 2 downloads on separate computers. why dint it working? what did i do wrong?

CS5 has nothing to do with Creative Cloud. they are separate versions. You need to actually install CS5.

HT5945 Why does Instal Java SE 6 keep popping up and when I attempt to install it says that there is a problem with the internet connection ??? Please help

I keep getting a pop up reminder to install Java SE 6. When I attempt to install it an error occurs saying that there is a internet connection problem and the Java cannot be intalled. This thing pops up every 15 minutes. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help

OK, so you don't have a working iTunes.
What I would like to do now is to try installing each iTunes component separately.
First uninstall the 5 iTunes programs that you have installed.
You should have iTunesSetup.exe saved in a folder on your PC, probably in the downloads folder. If not download and save it now.
Open the folder containing iTunessetup.exe with explorer.
Next open notepad and copy the following 3 lines into it.
md temp
itunessetup /extract temp
pause
Save the file as extract.bat into the same folder that contains the itunes installer.
Open the downloads folder and you should find the extract file that you saved. Double click on it and a black window will open telling you what it is doing. When its finished, press any key to continue.
You should find that a folder called temp has been created containing all the itunes msi files.
Install in this order by double clicking on them:
Apple Application Support
Bonjour
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
Quicktime
iTunes
If one of the installs fails, stop and post the error message in full. I am hoping that by doing this separately we will get a better error message.
