Problem with making remote toppics when linking with external chm

Hi to everybody,
i m novice to robohelp html when i am creating chm files from
my exsisting project that is a robohelp word project which take
input doc file in Robohelp word and create .hpj poject and then i
open this .hpj project into robo help Html to create chm file .
when i m opening this project into robohelp html it is making .xpj
project from the hpj project .
but at this time poject has some links with external chm but
when i m making hyper link with external chm using Remote toppic
option this option i couldn't unable to found any where in robohelp
html plz anyone can know help me out from this
probelm....................plz...................i need help

Hi Ruziyo and welcome to the RH forums.
If you are opening up your project via the XPJ file in
RoboHelp HTML the remote topic should be able to be found by:
- Highlighting what is to be hyperlinked.
- Clicking the Insert > Hyperlink menu item (or use the
toolbar icon or Cntl + K).
- Click on the arrow to the right of the "Link To" field.
- Select the Remote Topic option.
- Select the CHM file that contains the topic to which the
hyperlink is linked to.
- Select the required topic.
You will be asked to copy the CHM into your project
directory. Hope this answers your question. If not, please do come
back.

Hi. I have a problem with external editing preferences. If I add Photoshop as an external editor, it won't launch when selected, if I add it as an additional external editor it will. Why? How can I fix this as I need to use Photoshop and another program as the additional external editor.
I use a Mac running OS X (10.8.5) and PS CS4 and LR 5.7. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks in advance.

I don't know why Photoshop won't start. However, it's possible to create external editor presets using the additional external editor tools. There are instructions on how to do this in the Lightroom help. You could assign Photoshop and create one preset, and then assign another program and create another preset.
I don't know if deleting your preferences would fix the problem or not. It can sometimes fix other problems.

Problems with external context mapping

Hi ,
I am having the following problems with external context mapping from one WD component to another.
Problem description:
In the <i>Component Interfaces</i> I have defined a WD interface "InfA".
In the <i>interface controller</i> of this compoenent,I have ContextA and attributeA(cardinality 1..1).The contextA is marked as an "Input Element".
Now my webdynpro componentB adds InfA as used component.In componentB I decalre a contextB with attributeB and map it to contextA to set up the external context mapping.
Now I expect that if any webdynpro component implements this WD interface InfA ,he has access to contextA with the data getting filled from contextB.
After i have created the component for the used component I try to fill values in the source node contextB thru this code:
wdContext.currentContextB.setB(value);
But in the runtime I keep getting error nullPointerException for nodeContextB,suggesting that the mapping has not been completed.
Can anyone suggest due to what the error can come ,and, if its a webdynpro bug ,is there a workaround??

Valery : I personally checked by doing the example, if the names of value attribute are different in the child's interface and parents component controller then it throws the exception.
Sourav: NullPointer Exception is thrown when something is not properly initialised, if in the main component the cardinality of mapped origin is 1.1 then you need to access it element directly like:
wdContext.currentParentNodeElement().setFname("Abhijeet");
wdContext.currentParentNodeElement().setLname("M");
i will suggest just check out if you are declaring some element of value node and without initialising taking its use or what?
if this doesnt solve your problem, please post the expanded exception.

Problem with external punchout in SRM Server 713

We upgrade from SRM_SERVER 701 SP 04 to SRM_SERVER 713 SP 02, now we have a problem with external catalog, we did not change anything in standard call structure, however now when the user access to external catalog, select a product and "checkout", SRM returns to shopping cart screen without products and no message are register in log in transaction code SLG1.
Our parameters in structure are:

we made some test with parameter BYPASS_INB_HANDLER, set as 'X' but this not solve our issue.
We have an implementation in badi BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER to map product category, even if I set an external breakpoint in this implementation, system does not pass through it, also we test with this implementation inactive and behavior is the same, nothing transfer to shopping cart
Does anyone know what's missing?

Thank you for your answer, but as I told, If I set an external breakpoint it does not stop for debugging, so I can't see table as you recomended. This process (debugging) is familiar to me, in last version I can do it.

Problem with External 2.1 digital speakers

Anybody have any problems with external digital speakers connected to the SPDIF connection? I have a 1215-600XT, and I tried connecting my old DELL Boston Acoustic 2.1 speakers. They worked, but any time a "sound" played, a loud pop would follow the end of the sound track. If its multiuple sounds (i.e. an application that is making numerous alert sounds) I get multiple pops. It even happens at the endf of music tracks. It was so annoying, I stopped using the speakers. before I invest in another set of speakers, want to know I am not wasting my time.
Also, anyway of getting the soundcard to support digital 2.1 or other sound? The set-up screen only shows stereo for external speakers and no way of adding more.

If you need a RMA, you will need to contact Customer Support either via email or phone. Also, it may be a fault with the sub and not just the cable alone, anyway contact Customer Support and they will be able to assist further.

Problem with External Hard Drive - Firewire

I have a problem with a *300GB Venus DS3 Hard Disk* / USB 2.0 - Firewire 400 (not sure if 400).
I have a +Mac G4 (1GHz Power PC G4 / 1GB DDR SDRAM)+ running +Mac OS 10.3.9.+
I connect Venus hard disk through USB cable and no problem. But when I want to connect it via Firewire it doesn´t appear in the desktop.
If I go to *System Profile* it says that there is a device connected to the FireWire port but i can´t see it in the desktop and if a open *Disk Utility*, there is no other hard disk besides the internal, so I can´t mount the Venus DS3 Hard Drive.

I was about to download the *Firmware Update* but i read this:

I searched in Internet and found that many persons had issues connecting Hard Drives using Firewire port and read some tips (like unplugging all the usb firewire devices unless mouse and keyboard, disconnect AC cable, wait 15 minutes, ...) but couldn´t fix the problem.
I also wrote several emails to the manufacturer of Venus hard drives (American-Media) but so far no answer.
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to connect the Venus DS3 to a Mac G4 (OS 10.3.9) via FireWire.

I suspect the problem is in the size of the drive. You say the drive was formatted for Mac and Windows. How did you do that? With older Macs, there is a 128 gB limit on drive size.

Another possibility is to connect the drive to a Windows machine and re-format it into 3 volumes, each less than 128 gB. The Mac should be able to see the partitions.

• The way I read the information on the AMS web page that you cited, you do not need a driver. And that is consistent with my experience with firewire enclosures.
• Inside the AMS enclosure, the drive is a standard ATA/IDE drive. That you can use the drive with a USB connection is proof the drive itself is working.
• The "bridge" is a key component in FW conectivity. (That is a piece of circuitry that sits between the IDE drive and the FW connection. It is inside the enclosure.) It appears your enclosure has the Oxford 911 chipset on the bridge. That is good.

Configuration problem with external Western Digital My Book 2 TB drive

How do I fix a configuration problem with my external Western Digital My Book 2 TB drive which used to both read and write. Something has happened so that the drive is now read only? There is 600 GB of data on the drive that I cannot lose, thus am very concerned about messing around with formatting the drive which is raid 1 and filled with data.

Resetting USB/FW ports, try another if one won't work. When 10.6 came out there was a lot of grinding teeth with external drives not working or mounting.

Problems with external dll

I'm trying to control an instrument (Bayspec wavecapture, FBG interrogator) by means of Labwindows 9.0. I have the SDK provided from Bayspec, which consists of a library .lib file, a .dll file and an header .h file. I added the .lib and .h files to the project, put the .dll file in the same project directory, and write a minimal code to try to open and close the device. After compilation I received a lot of errors, some of that I solved "empirically": problems with the types WORD, BYTE, LPCSTR, which I solved by adding into the header file:

#define LPCSTR const char (but probably should be const char*)
function missing prototypes error, which I solved by specifing into the function definition the void type, i.e.:
DLL_PORT_TYPE    BOOL DLL_PORT_FUNCTION_TYPE DLL_Open_Device(void);
instead of
DLL_PORT_TYPE    BOOL DLL_PORT_FUNCTION_TYPE DLL_Open_Device();
After that I was able to compile without any error or warning, but when I build everything I have the following project link error:
Undefined symbol '_DLL_Open_Device@0' referenced in "bayspec_2.c".
I suppose the dll was realized with/for visual c++ 6.
The first lines of the .h file are the following:

By the way a took a look on the instrument driver network and I din't get any feedback about the istrument you are looking for. So it might be useful for you to ask to the Bayspec if they provide for some LabWindows/CVI(?) instrument driver.

Leopard 10.5.2 problems with external monitor

Since I installed 10.5.2 on my macbook pro I cannot have a external monitor Dell 3007 WFP connected to my laptop when starting the computer. The screen will only show up on my laptop but only my background picture but nothing else so I have to perform each time a forced exit. However if I start my computer with my external computer unplugged the laptop works fine and if I then connect my Dell monitor everything works fine. However the closed lid mechanism is not working either anymore. My computer goes to sleep if you press an external keyboard the Dell screen comes on for few seconds but then goes to sleep again. I never had this problem with leopard 10.5.1. Does anyone known an answer to this problem.

I have exactly the same problem. After 4 hours on the phone over 2 calls to Apple Care, they finally let me know that this is an issue with 10.5.2. They said they are working on a fix that would come out with a future update, and offered the workaround of reinstalling Leopard without 10.5.2 update.

Error code 36 (problems with external hard drive)

I have just upgraded to Yosemite and am now having major problem with my external western digital hard drive. I cannot create new folders and when I hit command N I get error code 36. I also cannot move files from one folder to the next. When I try to move them I get the error message: "The operation cannot be completed because a file of that name already exists" and that simply isn't true. None of the files' names exist in the other folder.

Ok, It appears to be the fault of Western Digital. I ejected the hard drive and then plugged it back in and it said that the drive was broken but I could still read the files and it told me to save the files on another disk and reformat. So it was just a coincidence that I upgraded to Yosemite at the same time that my external hard drive broke.

Permission problems with external hard drive

Hello there, I'm writting you from Paris but my french is just not good enough to really explain my problem. I'm no computer expert so i might not use the right name for stuff but i will try to be as clear as possible.
I have a macbook pro 13" from early 2012 and I'm currently running Mountain lion.
At home i use an internet modem that has an internal hard drive of 250gb. and it also gives you the possibility to conect other usb hard drives on it so you can access them through wifi.
I currently have to usb hd of 1tb each, one i use it for Time Machine and so far it works fine and i haven't had a problem with it, all back ups have been done ok. In the other one i have all my films and tv shows and stuff like that and it is in this one that i have the problem. In certen files and folders i'm not able to do anything with them, i tried to rename them but it says i don't have the permission to do it, i tried to delet another one and it said pretty much the same thing, some other time i tried to move the file to a diferent folder it it would ask me for my password and after type it and press enter it would just not move them, no error messager or anything it just didn't do it. Most of the times i have a messager saying stuff about permission or things like i can't read the file. The thing i can't understand is that as soon as i plug the HD on my mac it works fine i can rename and change stuff, I noticed that some of the files and folders have a little lock on the corner, but they aren't the ones i tried to move or rename before and i tried already unlocking all of them but eventhough i manage to unlock them when i plug the HD back to the modem it keeps the same, can't rename or move, not even to the trash.
Can anyone help me out here? I'll be really thankful

Problem with external HDD after installing updates in Mac os X 10.5 leopard

I just went out to the store and bought a copy of the leopard.
I installed it with nothing attached to the computer. Everything went fine.
When I went to update the software I had two packages there that I updates, so I had to restart the computer. when it started again it indicated that it had problems with my Iomega Ultramax 1tb disk. It says that disk repair failed and that I only have limited access to the disk. and since it's ALOT of data on the disk, I don¨t rally got the tools to copy everything to another location and then erase the disk and copy everything back. So does anyone know if there's a solution to this.
I'd be really happy to get a solution on this,

When I'm using disk utility and use "verify disk" I get the following message:
"First Aid failed
Disk utility stopped verifying "UltraMax" because the following error was encountered.
Filesystem verify or repair failed."

Problems with External Monitor In XP

Ok, I've got a huge problem with XP on Bootcamp.
I've recently got a Samsung TV which I can use as an external monitor. This works absolutely fine when I'm using OSX, recognizes the TV and can use it as a second screen.
When I try to use the same monitor in Windows under Bootcamp, it works as an extension of my desktop, but not able to mirror my desktop. I want to do this so I can play my games on a large screen instead of a small one.
I've trawled the forums on this kind of problem and found a few answers. However, many of them talk about the ATI graphics drivers. I've downloaded the appropriate drivers and the control center from the website, but to no avail.
People have also said about going into display properties: settings: advanced and selecting the ATI tab. I have no ATI tab.
Also with the Catalyst Control Center, when I try to run it, it tells me that I dont have permission to change the settings and to contact my administrator, even though I am the administrator.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can solve this?
By the way. I'm connecting the external monitor via the DVI on my Macbook Pro to the HDMI connection on the TV.

My logic tells me, if you are using a new MBP the way it's designed is that even if you are plugged in at times it will go in battery mode for a few minutes in order to prevent battery damage, than it will recharge. This happens in the background without notice. However, within this couple of minutes you might notice your display screen to sleep because it is setup to sleep in 1 minute or less in the preference under battery mode. So within that window you might have your screen go blank since the entire process takes a lot more than a minute. I hope this helps.

Scrubbing problems with external video turned on

I recently upgraded to Tiger and using FCP vers 4.5. When my external video is on and viewing on my NTSC monitor, I have a very irritating problem. Whenever I use the keyboard to play in reverse or scrub by holding down the J and K keys at the same time for slow play, the image stutters and drops frames. Also, the Viewer or Canvas display will also periodically black out for a second or two. When I scrub with the mouse, I don't see this problem. It's only when using the keyboard.
When I turn off external video, everything is fine. I've never had this problem in the past with my system. The only thing that's changed is Tiger and Quicktime 7 Pro. I have done all the upgrades and threw away all FCP preference files.
I'm stumped. Anyone else having the same problem?
By the way, video plays fine when in external video mode. Laid off a project last night, no issues or dropped frames.

Oh my goodness I'm having the same problem! Recently I upgraded to Quicktime 7.0.3 but did some Security Updates as well and thought I was up the creek. I'm on FCP 4.5, OS X 10.3.9 and noticed the same backwards stuttering. Thank you so much for putting your solution on there, I will try it first thing when I get to work tomorrow!

Just updated to Maverick. Now when pulggin in the external monitor DVI connector the Macbook monitor goes very dark
Anyone else having this problem? It also happens when I plug in the DVI connector for the DLP projector. Never happen bofore upgrading to Maverick
