  • Problem with opening ITunes Store

I was recently was prompted to install the latest version of ITunes 7.2 So I did. BIG MISTAKE!!!
After what I thought was a successful installation, now I am unable to open the ITunes Store. I can get into ITunes; just not the store! I keep getting an error message that my connection isn't working. I can still get my music. Everything else works fine. I recently purchased an ITunes gift card with the intention of downloading new music from the ITunes Store. But now I can't. Reading several of these posts, I see I'm not the only one with problems with the newest ITunes version.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I certainly do not want to uninstall and reinstall as I have over $500 dollars tied up with ITunes purchases! I haven't yet seen any response from Apple regarding the newest version problems.

Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar? There have been reports that Norton and similar firewall products treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and so you have to go in and reallow connections for iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your Internet privacy utility and if necessary remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes (consult your privacy filter's documentation for the appropriate procedure). You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems with opening itunes

We have been using itunes for about 6 months, but have not used it in about 6 weeks as we have been on vacation. Now we are having problems getting it to open.
I get the following message. "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."
Well, I got out the original CD and reinstalled iTunes. Then got the same message.
So, I got out the original CD and reinstalled iTunes again. I still got the same message.
I went online and downloaded the updater, you guessed it, still the same message.
Anyone else have the same or similar problem?
    How can I solve this?
    Thanks

OK just forget about the CD as the software on it is outdated anyways. Goto control panel>add and remove and uninstal BOTH iTUnes and quicktime.
Disable antivirus and security programs, then goto apple.com to install the latest verion of iTunes, and if you have an ipod, the latest ipod updater version 06-28-2006 here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
If after this it still will not open try the stand alone version of quicktime here http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html

  • Issues With opening ITunes...

So I had a problem with opening ITunes before, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled like everyone says to do. Now, however, when I try to open it, it says "ITunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". And it does this EVERY time. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling since, but it just does the same thing. Anyone know what to do?? Thanks!

Unless you do the additional cleanup steps a uninstall and reinstall may not work. At least thats been my experience. I posted detailed cleanup reinstall steps on this thread. The steps are a tad more detailed that whats posted on apple. Try those and let me know if you still have trouble.

    Gary,
discussions may sometimes be slow for an hour or so (at which point the opening page of discussions will eventually apologize for the inconvenience, back on line soon...) but your description looks like a cache problem.
Try OnyX freeware to do some cleanup and see if that helps.

  • Problem with installing iTunes

So these are my problems with installing iTunes.
    At first it was :
A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-45019)
Then it got worse as it would not even open and these would appear:
The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
    and this would appear:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I reinstalled maybe about 5 times or more...
If I thought I solved the above problem, this would appear:
iTunesHelper.exe is not installed on my computer.
I seen other people comment that you should unistall and restart the computer and install the setup again, but it does not work..
And others would say to repair the AAS or iTunes etc..
And after trying all these it does not work???
    What else works?

I also tried repairing the Microsoft NET.

  • Problem with my itunes - programme path cannot be found - can't uninstall

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me...
I've got a problem with my itunes and I'm at a loss as to what to do!
I recently went to open itunes and as I did a message came up to say that itunes has not been properly installed and that if I want to burn cds etc, itunes needs to be properly installed. Firstly I don't understand why this message has come up as I have barely been on itunes over the past few weeks, in fact I've barely been on my laptop full stop. Secondly, when I have gone into control panel and then gone to repair itunes it says that itunes64msi path cannot be found, itunes is supposedly stored under my user and under 'app data' which is nowhere to be seen on my computer at all. I then tried to uninstall the programme completely and the same message came up. I then downloaded the newest version of itunes on the apple website but that couldn't be properly installed as there is already itunes on my system. I've also tried to remove the programme whilst in safe mode but haven't had any success.
SO confused as to what's gone on, don't understand how itunes is still a programme on my computer but appears to be wiped from my computer at the same time.
I'm running on a windows 7 64 bit operating system and if anyone could help me I'd be so so grateful!!

  • Is there a problem with the itunes and quick time download pages or is it my internet.

Is there a problem with the itunes and quicktime download pages or is it just my internet.

Some more developments ... the issue appears to be browser-specific. I can't see the download controls at the moment in either IE 8 (I'll get your message) or Safari for Windows 5.0.5 (I'll just get the blank box). But I can see the download controls in Firefox 4 and Chrome (whatever version I have of that).
So it might be worth installing Firefox and seeing if you can get the downloads via that:

I have a problem with the iTunes Store, I have an ipod and an iphone 2. I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. My problem is I can not access any application to download music, videos, books, etc..
ITunes will be installed wrong or what should I do to activate these options?

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country.  Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.

  • Problem with opening of PDF in my webmail application

I have a problem with opening a pdf file in my webmail application of my internet provider in apple safari since yesterday. When I wanted to open up a pdf file I got a pop up message to allow a connection between adobe and the webmail application which I did. Since then I can not open up a pdf file. If I go to another browser or if I use email from another internet provider I use too it works and I can open up. It seems to be a blockage of the specific combination of this webmail application and safari.
    What can I do ?

    Hi,
    I have same requirement.
I need to cnvert smartform->pdf->send mail.
The mail is send but the attachment is corrupted.

  • Problem with opening a indd file in CC 2014.

When I'm trying to open a 5.5 .indd-file in CC 2014 on my Windows computer, I get this error message: 'Either the file does not exist or you do not have permission to open it or the file is used by another program'. However my collague has no problem with opening the document on his Mac computer. I guess it has something to do with a kind of setting in my CC 2014. Can anyone help me?

Nothing to do with ID. It really means what it says - your file permissions are hosed and it being an ID file this could include things like fonts or placed images referenced within it.
