Problem with Panasonic P50G20

We bought this tv yesterday, I got it all set up and I have problems with my HDMI, white flecks, like snow, and the sound cuts out. ONLY on HDMI channels, if I put in a dvd through a component cable, picture and sound are prefect. I disconnected the HDMI cable and plugged it into my 42" panasonic and picture  and sound are perfect, so it isn't the new cable.
Ideas?

I have owned several Panasonic TVs, and they are usually great.
I know you are frustrated, but let's go back to the basics. Are you sure the HDMI cable is properly plugged into the cable/satellite box HDMI output? Next, most modern TVs have a bewildering number of inputs. Arguably the best quality nowadays is HDMI, so there will likely be HDMI 1, HDMI 2, and possibly HDMI 3. Most of us use HDMI 1 for the cable/satellite box, HDMI 2 for the blu-ray player and so on.
Next, on my Panasonic remote, there is the big circle with the arrows, and to the upper left of that circle is a button marked TV/Video. With the cable/satellite box and TV turned on, pressing this button brings up a menu for input selection. Use the arrows to move up or down the list to "HDMI 1", then press "OK".
I am sure this will fix your problem

  • Problem with Panasonic P2

I am new to this forum and hope someone can help me.
I shot video by Panasonic AG-HVX203 to shoot video in DVCPRO HD (1080/50i) format.  This is PAL format.  Video is stored in P2 card.  And then I import the MXF files to the timeline of Premiere CS4.  After edited, by the Dynamic Link sent to Encore which Project Preset is PAL 1440x1080 25.
With Encore, transcode the video with 1440x1080 25 Maximun Quality.  And then Build "Blu Ray Disc Image".  Finally, burn this Disc Image file to Blu Ray disc.
Play back this disc with Panasonic Blu Ray player BUT find out that the video resolution is 576p!!
I checked my workflow and tried many times to build different Disc Images.  But all blu ray disc is played back only with 576p quality.
I want to create a blu ray disc with 1080i quality.  What did I do wronly in my wrokflow?  Could you help?

    1.  Try encoding to Blu-Ray  (mpg2 or H.264) from Premiere using your 50i settings.
    2. Check the file after encoding to be sure it is 1440x1080 50i.
    3. Then start Encore and create a new HD project. Check under FILE, PROJECT SETTINGS that you have Blu-Ray selected with PAL 1440x1080 50i.
    4. Next import the Blu-Ray files you exported from Premiere into Encore.
    5. Burn your Blu-ray disk.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connexion problem with Panasonic DV-PAL camcorder

    Hi,
I have a problem to have FCE HD 3.5.1 or iMovie 5 recognize my camcorder since I updated to MacOS X 10.4.11 from 10.4.10. At the startup of FCE the message "cannot find the Apple FireWire PAL (720x576) driver" appears and the application does not recognize the camcorder. iMovie cannot recognize it either.
I have read on the forum that some people already had this kind of problem with the firewire when they switched to 10.4.11. Do you know how to solve it ? May it work better with Leopard?
    Thanks for your answers, Christophe

I don't have another firewire device connected to the computer. From the history of updates I can see that the first one for QT was an upgrade to version 7.0.3 in November 2005 (together with an upgrade to OS X 10.4.3), but I can't remember whether it was an upgrade from QT 6 or 7. The update of OS X was from 10.4.0 because it was upgrading from the original PowerBook G4 CD install.
When you say reinstall QT, do you mean removing it and reinstalling it completely?

  • MacBook external display problem with Panasonic projector

MacBook (September 2006, Intel 945) with Boot Camp and XP Pro won't display externally from Boot Camp to a Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector using VGA (via the MiniDVI-to-VGA adapter/dongle). I tried 640x480x8-bit and 800x600x16-bit and 1024x768x16-bit. I tried unplugging and replugging the adapter. I tried shutting down and restarting into Win XP while all video cabling was connected. I tried pressing F7, Fn+F7, Shift+F7, FnShiftF7, as well as other key combinations involving F7. I tried checking the checkbox called "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." I installed Apple Software Update 2.1. None of these troubleshooting attempts worked. It works fine in OS X to the same projector (using the same VGA dongle). And, while Win XP starts in Boot Camp, the projector displays the Windows XP startup screen (black background and blue progress indicator), but after about a minute that disappears, I get a login dialog on the laptop screen, and the projector then displays only a blank blue screen.
Other displays: It works fine with Boot Camp to a Samsung SyncMaster 940T monitor using DVI (via the MiniDVI-to-DVI adapter/dongle). It works fine with Boot Camp to a Panasonic LC50 monitor using VGA (via the MiniDVI-to-VGA adapter/dongle).
We also have Panasonic PT-D5500 projectors, but I haven't tried them yet.
    1. Is this a problem in the Intel drivers supplied with Boot Camp?
    2. Are there settings on the projector that need to be set to make it work?
    3. I'm also now missing the Intel system tray icon that looks like a slanted computer screen -- how do I get it back?
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Based on the substantial research I've done regarding this issue, here's what the problem could be (without me knowing more):
If your working with an integrated graphics card (Intel 945?), chances are that it doesn't support the "resolution" of the projector - which is information embedded in to your other devices. Furthermore, the "refresh rate" is another piece of information usually "embedded" in to the device your connecting to, and the projector may not have either piece of information accessible to your card, or, vice versa.
Additionally, the drivers required by XP to make it all happen while using your particular video card, may not be installed. Basically, it could be a driver issue as well.
I wish I had a solution for you, however, everything I've read seems to conclude that XP within boot camp has little or no support for external displays (especially when talking about larger resolutions).
Humorously, when I addressed the "Mac Genius" at the Apple Store regarding this question, he told me to go buy a PC - so I did. Already have a Mac Pro, needed a laptop...

  • 7.1 does NOT solve 5.1 downmix problem with Panasonic SDC-HD1 and others...

    Howdy...
Just an FYI: Cameras that record AVCHD in 5.1 surround (such as the Panasonic SDC-HD1 that Steve Jobs was touting at his keynote) still are not correctly downmixed in iMovie 7.1 or FCP.
The sound still defaults to Mono with 1 channel being being loud and the other very quiet, as opposed to downmixing correctly to stereo from 5.1 (or even staying in 5.1 for FCP... D'oh!)
Lots of nice fixes, but not for this bug...
    Best,
    Ben

I also have this problem here
I've tried to playback all those AVCHD in windows, they work fine, but mac just ***** with AVCHD
I tried to convert those AVCHD to DVD videos, which playback fine in windows, but the audio in mac just *****. (Even just playing back a DVD made from AVCHD!)

I have a MBP 17" latest model. When I connect my Panasonic 50" Plasma via Thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor through a Western Digital 6TB Thunderbolt hard drive, the colour is very pink/purple. If I plug the HDMI adaptor to the Panasonic direct to the MBP Thunderbolt port, bypassing the hard drive port, the color is fine. Any solutions guys?

Did you find a solution to this issue? I have the same issue now after years of no problem using the mini display port to DVI through a drive.

  • Capture problem with Panasonic PV-GS35

I have tried for 2 days to find the answer to this . Suddenly I cannot capture video from my minidv camera via usb into Premiere Elements 3. At the capture screen in the upper left corner where the picture of a camera is has the exclamation point and the message, capture device offline.
I've tried everything I can think of....updating drivers for my computer...
    Checking all the Adobe settings....
The camera isn't showing up in the Device Manager either.
I HAVE downloaded many videos using this same camera, computer and program...suddenly I can't.
    Can anyone help?

I have a similar problem - in repsonse to ookken can anyone tell me how to find a list of devices supported by Elements 4.0? I looked on the Adobe site but the link didn't seem to work.
Try as a I might Elements won't seem to recognise my Sony DCR-HC24, even though it shows up in the device manager - and Windows Movie Maker does recognise it. Any ideas enormously gratefully received.

  • Problems with VTR Panasonic

Hello, I have some problems with this configuration:
    - HP Workstation Z-420 (Windows 7)
    - Blackmagic DeckLink Extreme 4K (drivers 10.3.4)
    - VTR Panasonic AJ-D850
    - Premiere Pro CC 2014.1
When I export the clip to tape, it doesn't record audio but in Premiere I see the output of modulation.
Another problem is that when I capture I hear a noise and this noise is not in the dvcpro.
I've looked all audio options Premiere but I have not solved the problem.
Does it exist any configuration or method to solve the problem? Maybe my video card is not Compatible with VTR and Premiere?
    Thank you very much.

    Hello, I get the solution!
I have deactivated blackmagic card in Windows audio panel. It's strange but now It is working fine. Thank you.

  • Panasonic sdr-s150 / problem with aspect ratio

    Hi all,
I'm about to purchase the sdr-s150 as it fits my needs regarding size vs. picture quality. Before doing so I wanted to make sure that footage from the camera can be edited with the all new imovie 08. And here's my problem with that.
I downloaded some 16:9 sample footage out of the internet and imported this into imovie 08. The icons imovie creates in the import and project areas are all looking good regarding aspect ratio. In the project settings I choose aspect ratio 16:9 and 'fit to frame' (don't know the exact setting in the english version) for the clips being added to the projects.
The preview of the clips and final export know shows black bars at top and bottom and the footage ist squeezed together.
I already tried sdcopy and ran the clips through this before importing into imovie 08. No change.
Any ideas ? Please also feel free to comment on the quality of the footage of this camera once processed through imovie from your point of view.
    Thanks,
    JasperJunker.

    hey there Derek100,
i've experienced the same thing w/ FCP & iMovie (in NTSC). it's that the FCP easy set-up is "anamorphic", which is a 4:3 image made to appear as 16:9 & so that is how FCP works w/ the image. i really have no other explanation. i suppose if you create a custom set-up, you could eliminate the bars @ the top & bottom. there should be something in the Manuals, though i don't know where--i've never looked. sorry not to be of more help, but now i'm gonna investigate for myself.
    good luck.

  • I'm having lots of problems with my Macbook, don't know where to start.

I've got an Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook, about 4-5 years old, running 10.5.8. It's set up with two logins, one each for my wife and I. We're having problems with several things:
Every time I open a PDF, Acrobat asks for my administrator password and reinstalls itself.
We use OpenOffice - but every time we quit the application, it opens right up again and recovers the last doc we were working on.
We use two airport express routers - one to create the wireless network and run the printer, one to stream music to the stereo, mostly via Airfoil. It seems overly complex, but the cable comes in one end of the house through the basement, and the stereo is at the other end of the house upstairs, and it worked fine until last week. We've lost contact with the stereo AX, and even plugged in with an ethernet cable I can't set it up - I can go through the menus, and when I try to finalize everything it just sits there blinking amber and eventually I lose the connection with the AX in the basement too - but I get it back upon restarting the computer.
My wife is having problems with copying and pasting in Firefox/Yahoo mail using her login, but I can't duplicate them in mine.
Firefox forgets things in my login that it remembers in hers - like it won't ever open to my homepage, always the "thanks for updating" page. I've googled that and found a few references to the problem, and tips for fixing it (deleting a few files), but they haven't worked for me.
We have intermittent problems with permissions - occasionally I can't write to a folder I created.
In the past I've been able to download HD video direct (without converting) from my Panasonic Lumix LX-5 camera through iMovie, but last time I tried the files were greyed out and unavailable.
A few months back everything froze and it wouldn't start up. A friend, who is a Mac IT guy, had a look at it and reinstalled the system, and it's worked ok since, with the exceptions noted above. We do back up regularly with Time Machine, and for most of the time I've had the macbook I used Saphos antivirus, until I read it could cause problems with Time Machine, at which point I uninstalled it.
I'm not a computer guy, I just want to have a reliable machine I can use every day without having to sit down and reconfigure some settings to get it to work. I have no idea whether these problems are related, or totally random, or a result of something I did. I half want to just forget it and replace the laptop and the one AX I can't get to work, but if it's a relatively simple fix, I'd realy prefer not to spend the money right now.
Any recomendations would be appreciated, and feel free to ask for further information - hopefully I'll be able to provide it!
    Andrew

Just curious. Have you opened disk utilities application in the utility folder and select your drive, and run repair permissions. This may or may not help. It also may take awhile if it has never been done. Good luck!

  • Audio-Problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 by using long Clips in AVC-Intra Codec (4Gb Border)

    Hello
We own a Panasonic camera (AJ-PX5000G) and we film in 1080p50 with the AVC-Intra100 Codec. When importing longer clips in Premiere Pro, the video is fully loaded, but the waveform of the sound ends at the Time Code 00:02:28:35.
Sometimes the sound could be played after this Timecode but otherwise there is no audio. Even if we use the same clip several times we see that it works sometimes and sometimes not. It looks random.
We also tried to import the Clips with Adobe Prelude directly from the P2-Card but there are the same problems.
The Clips in 1080p50 AVC-Intra100 have a bitrate of 227Mbps. After 2 Minutes and 28 Seconds 4Gb are written on the P2-Card and the Camera starts a new picture file and 4 sound files..
It looks like Adobe Premiere Pro has problems with the correct relation of the files that all get together to one clip.
Is there anybody who can confirm this problem? Can anybody help me with this Premiere Problem?

  • Problem with Adobe DNG in Aperture 2.1.4

I've never had a problem with DNGs until now. I have Pentax DSLRs and can import their RAW format (PEFs), but my workflow involves converting PEFs to DNGs using Adobe RAW Converter, then importing the DNGs to my managed Library.
Just got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 which has RAW format of RW2 which I understand is not supported by Aperture 2.1.4. However, given my workflow, I simply converted the RW2s to DNGs using ARC v.5.6. The problem is Aperture doesn't recognize the DNGs. This doesn't make sense as I would think the DNG coming out of ARC should be readable irrespective of what the original RAW file format was.
Any ideas on what the problem is (short of upgrading to Aperture 3)? This seems like an Adobe DNG problem, not an LX3 file format issue.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

The buttons are on the same line. I would like to upgrade to 2.2 and I'm sure that we will at some point, but it won't happen without some time dedicated to testing. I'd like to get this figured out with version 2.1. The strange part is that it just showed up after the portlet was enhanced. I looked at everthing changed and I can't figure out what could have caused it. Anyone have any idea what would cause 2 buttons in one TD tag not to both receive the onclick event?

This has been a fairly common problem with Z series units, and the cure is LCD replacement.
Brand new LCDs change hands for under $200 on eBay. If you are handy and careful enough, replacing the LCD isn't that much of a problem.

  • Sync Problem with Blu Ray

I have a sync problem when using Premiere Pro CS5 to burn Blu Ray DVDs and wondered if anyone has had similar problems and has found a simple solution.
Equipment:  Panasonic HMC-150 (AVCHD), shot at 59.94 fps, 720.  MacPro with operating system up to date, quad core, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro 4000. PP CS5 also has all current updates downloaded.
When the AVCHD files are imported, they tend to be out of sync by 8 to 22 frames.  I manually resync and edit.  Then burn a Blu Ray DVD using Encore and end up out of sync again.  I must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out.  At this point, the only solution I can think of is to try to figure out how far out of sync I am once the DVD is burned and offset the audio that amount before transcoding.
Has anyone encountered this problem before?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I have done some more tests and have determined that the problem only exists with Blu-ray.  When I burn a non blu-ray dvd, video and audio remain in sync. I attempted to export to Final Cut Pro 7 using the export xml feature, but it doesn't work.  I brought the original footage into FCP and burned a portion of it to blu-ray using the Share feature and there was no sync problem.  So I guess my only alternative at this point is to re-edit the entire video in FCP.
In Premiere Pro I've checked to make sure that both the camera and the intake were set for no drop frame and they were.  I've tried double checking the audio sync using the audio line out from the Mac rather than the firewire out to the Mackie Mixer, just in case there was a latency problem, which didn't seem logical and there wasn't any difference.  It can't be a problem with the blu-ray burner since it works in FCP7.  I'm running out of ideas of things I can tweak in Premiere, other than guessing just how far out of sync the program pushes the audio and then unlinking audio and pushing it the same number of frames the other direction before burning the blu-ray, but that will be hit and miss and it will start getting expensive throwing away blu-ray disks.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Jon
