Problem with Photo Booth (NOT CRASHING)

So I updated to 10.6.2 which THANKFULLY solved the Photo Booth crashing problem... However, some effects are producing an inverted color image
Here is it what I mean:
How it's supposed to look (captured by screen shot): http://img148.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=63601Screen_shot_2009-11-12_at_4.55_122576lo.jpg
How it is being saved: http://img127.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=63605Photo_on_2009-11-12_at_16_122409lo.jpg
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

I don't know the correct place to post this issue, but I do know that I have the same issue on my iMac with Snow Leopard. I actually have a problem with the effects page that has the cube, the clown, the cowboy, etc. All these effects save the photo wrong. The colors are off and grainy.

  • Problem with Photo Booth backdrops

In addition to the problem of the first page effects constantly cycling, I now discovered a serious problem when trying to use backdrops.  After I select the backdrop I want to use, it will appear in the main window, but it will not place my picture in the backdrop. In addition, it will merely flash the "please step out of the frame" message for a split second and then immediately say "backdrop detected." When I then snap the photo, all I get is the backdrop. I have deleted the .plist file, but that did not help. I had previously uninstalled and reinstalled the application, but the problem persists. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and, if so, have you found a solution?

I thought this issue had died and passed into oblivion.  Either no one has an answer, or no one gives a ****,or both. Certainly not Apple. I seem to remember sending feedback to Apple long ago, but I never received a response. I just went to the feedback page and there isn't even a Photo Booth app. showing through which to submit feedback. Checking some of the other threads on this issue, it appears that this problem with Photo Booth has existed for quite some time, and there was a problem with placing iChat backdrops too. It seems that this app. is such a piece of crap that Apple will no longer support it. I can't understand why they continue to include it as part of the OS.
For what it is worth: I was recently at the Apple store and out of curiosity tried the app. on a MacBook Air. It (the app.)  was so unstable that I didn't even bother to try to set a backdrop. I've lived without Photo Booth until now, so I guess I can continue to exist without it.
By the way: I didn't insert the asterisks. I typed d a m n, and the system inserted the ****. Interesting.

  • Microsoft NX-6000 works with Photo Booth, not with iChat

I'm trying to use a Microsoft NX-6000 webcam with my wife's MacBook running 10.5.5. The camera appears properly in System Profiler, and it works properly with Photo Booth. However, iChat tells me that the camera is in use by another application, even after rebooting and ensuring that iChat is the only app running. Is there a way to fix this? (and yes, I know the MacBook has a built-in iSight but she's using it in clamshell mode, so that won't help!)

I had 3IVX and deleted it and it works now..
Uninstall it if you have it.

  • Adobe Bridge CC -- ongoing problems with Photo Downloader (scrolling, crashing, etc)

    Hello Community,
Thanks in advance for any suggestions to improve my Bridge CC experience! I have recurring problems, esp. when using the Photo Downloader (in other words, daily problems) -- scrolling either up or down to select photos is a nightmare, as the scrolling either jumps or stops without rhyme or reason, making the photo selection process tedious and maddening. Additionally, if I spend more than a few minutes selecting which photos to load to my computer (i.e., from iPhone), Bridge crashes.
I have been using Bridge for about a decade, and never EVER had a single problem with it until CC. I have a 2013 MacBook Pro, all software updated, etc. No fancy bells or whistles, no peripherals, etc... Just trying to get my pictures from phone and tablet to the computer.
    Many thanks.

    Moving discussion to Bridge forum.

  • Problems with Photo Booth?

    Anybody having Pbs. with Photobooth?

Open apps. folder. Go to Photo Booth. Right click. click on Get Info. Make sure the "run in 32 bit mode" checkbox is NOT checked. Close out and reopen.

  • Problems with built-in camera.  maybe just problems with photo booth?

My camera works fine in video chat, like with skype, but in photo booth the effects don't work properly. The menus of effects are scrambled and instead of the squares of previewed effects that you select from, I only see warped images and text. When I select an effect, the camera is either zoomed in oddly, or the picture frame is shifted over halfway over to the left to the point where I can't see part of the image. The rest of the screen is either green or black when the latter happens.
I have re-installed the newest version of photo booth several times, but this problem keeps coming up-- it was like this when I first got it. I have also tried to find the file where the preferences are kept, but it doesn't seem to exist.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I just figured out that problems I was having with iSight were because of a widget I had downloaded ... it's basically a 'mirror' widget ... it would play in the background ... and was disabling the iSight camera (message like 'you can't use PhotoBooth because you have another application open etc) ... doesn't sound like this is your problem but just for reference in case anybody else is having problems and has that widget you have to lose the widget to be able to use iSight.

  • Problem with Photo Booth

If I leave Photo Booth on for 15 or more minutes, the computer freezes up and I can't close Photo Booth. I have to restart the system manually because the "force quit" choice doesn't work. Anybody have a solution to this problem?
    Thanks, Chase

Can you move the mouse around after Photo Booth locks up on you or does the whole MacBook lock up?
If you can move your mouse around and still open other applications then I may have a solution so you can really force quit Photo Booth.
The next time Photo Booth or any other application locks up on you then hold down:
    Commandoptionesc
A little menu will come up showing you all the programs that you have open and you can select and quit the program that won't quit or is locked up.
This method is different the holding down the icon and force qutting it.
Ask me if you don't understand or if that didn't help.
    but...
I hope I have helped with your problem

  • Photo Booth not working - OS Yosemite- Macbook Air 11-Inch

    Dear Apple Community,
Has anyone experience having problem with Photo Booth while on Apple OS Yosemite? I currently updated my OS on my MacBook Air 11inch and my photobooth Application cannot record more then 20 Mins, - Immediately after 20 mins the application crashes.
Went to my Apple reseller and technical staff said the same thing and cannot seem to identify why this is happening. So they advice me not to upgrade to Yosemite and just stay on Maverick.
Hope to get some feedback from the community on this.

I've got a MacBook Pro 13-inch from early 2011. Photo Booth will only video in fits and starts, so the videos I attempt are very choppy. Sometimes it records sound while occasionally taking a still. Photobooth occasionally crashes. I've got over 100 gigs of free space, I've reset the PRAM twice, and I'm in the process of deleting more files.

  • IPhoto Crashes with Photo Booth Share

Brand new iMac (less than 2 weeks old) running Lion.
My daughter is having lots of fun with Photo Booth, but whenever we try to "share" (add to iPhoto), iPhoto opens and then promptly crashes.
After that, whenever we try to open iPhoto directly, it says there's a photo that needs to be imported.  Regardless of whether I say yes or no to importing the image, iPhoto crashes.
After each crash, a new recovered file folder appears in my pictures directory.
I did figure out how to get iPhoto to work again by finding and removing the Photo Booth file that is trying to be imported.  But I was hoping someone could give me a heads up as to why brand new software on a brand new computer isn't working and whether there is a fix.
    Thanks.

The fact that a computer is "brand new" doesn't make a whit of difference. Software doesn't suffer from wear and tear and problems are as likely on the first day you use it as they are on the last.
As to the fix... you say you did fix the problem and can get iPhoto to work, didn't you?

    Self explanatory.
You could try creating an iPod version of the films.
Use CTRL and B to display the Menu bar shown above. Alternatively, use the ALT key, followed by the F key, the W key and finally the I (eye) key - that's (menu)/File/Create New Version/Create iPod or iPhone version.

  • Isight works with photo booth but not in ichat or google talk or skype?

isight works with photo booth but not in ichat or google talk or skype?

    Hi
Is this an Internal or External iSight ?
In iChat, in the Video Menu (This is to the right of Buddies and may read Audio) is Camera Enabled Ticked ?
If it reads Audio open the Connection Doctor from that same menu.
In the connection Doctor open the Capabilities tab
Does it say your Internet Connection is too slow ?
At this point I would need to know which iChat Version.
However also look in the View Menu.
Is Show VIdeo Status ticked ?  (this shows green Icons next to your Buddy Pic and those of your Buddies
Next go to the iChat Menu > Preferences > Video Section
Do you see a preview here ?
    Re: GoogleTalk
Have you enabled TALK on your Google Account Settings ?
You need to have a Google Mail ID (Not any other sort of Google ID)
Have you downloaded the Intel only Web Browser Plug-in to do Video in a  Web Browser.

  • Photo Booth not working after Leopard install

I have a mac mini and a ViewSonic VX2235wmb (LCD with a usb web cam built in). Before installing Leopard, the web cam worked with iChat and Photo Booth, without the need for any additional drivers. After installing Leopard, iChat works, but not Photo Booth. Here's what I get when I open the app:
    http://www.davidsilva.net/photobooth.png
I've tried the 3rd party driver apps, but I get the same results. Any suggestions?

I have the exact same problem with the ViewSonic VX2255wmb (LCD with a usb web cam built in).
On Leopard it works fine with iChat, but does the same squiggly mess as your snapshot when run with Photo Booth.
