Problem with Presenter 9

After much trial-and-error I've discovered that the Presenter add-in for Powerpoint only works when Powerpoint is opened using RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
If powerpoint is opened normally without administrator privileges, the add-in becomes disabled. Trying to remove it and re-add it gives the following error message:
MENULAUNCHER.DLL IS NOT A VALID OFFICE ADD-IN.
What do I need to do to get the presenter add-in to work properly without having to run with administrator privileges?
Information about my system is :
1.Windows 8. 64 bit.
2. Office 2013 (Office 365 Home Premium). 32 bit.
3. Adobe Presenter 9. 32 bit.
The Presenter installer files I used are:
/CPTL/9/win32/Presenter_9_LS21.7z and /CPTL/9/win32/Presenter_9_LS21.7z and /CPTL/9/win32/Presenter_9_LS21.exe

Problems with Presentation Director

Hello,
I enjoy really to work with the Presentation Director (PD); I also enjoy now working with Windows 7 x64
But the problem is, that the PD doesn't work for me on Win 7
In the best case it does nothing, in the worst case it tries to change the settings ever and ever again and makes it impossible to do anything else! A logoff is at the latter the only help ...
Is there any solution in sight?

Yeah, what Hubert said. I kind of stopped using Presentation Director when Vista came out - although Presentation Director works OK (it does what it says it will do), I honestly don't think it is necessary any more.
I frequently switch back and forth between a dock with an external DVI monitor, using the laptop by itself, and using the laptop with an external projector. The computer manages to figure out on its own what it is connected to and send the signal out to the right device. I don't think I have used Presentation Director since the end of 2007. I just don't need it anymore, and I find that the "simpler" I can keep the computer (meaning, the fewer the number of little helper applications are installed), the easier life is.
Truth be told, same goes for Access Connections, although I don't use a VPN or anything complex like that.

Problem with presenter screen

Hi --
I tried using the presenter mode for the first time this week (just got a new macbook pro that supports it), but I had a terrible problem when I hooked my mac up to the projector: the audience slides were displayed on my macbook screen, and the presenters slides were displayed on the large projector screen! I tried everything I could think of in both the systems preferences and Keynote preferences, but couldn't switch the audience and presenter displays -- finally had to just turn it off and use mirroring in the system preferences.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

In the Display preferences, when you have two displays hooked up, you will have the option to specify which display is your main display (the one with the menubar) and which is the secondary display. You do this by dragging the displays (and/or menubar) shown in the Display preferences to set them up as you like. Doing this will allow you to arrange what appears on your laptop and what appears on the projector.

Problem with presenter (Nokia 6233)

I can't seem to get presenter to work with my phone. I start the application on my computer, I start it on my phone, then I get the phone to search for connections -> it finds my computer, but when I try to connect, the phone says:
"Connection failed. Make sure Bluetooth device on the PC is ready and try again".
I've tried everything and can't seem to get it to work. Any advice???

I also had a prob with this... Assuming your bluetooth is working:

Copy both the JAR and JAD, then use PC Suite to "Install Application" to your phone.
I added another bluetooth serial port on COM10 then set Presenter (PC) to use COM10. I think the phone wouldn't connect because something else had locked my port. To add another bluetooth serial port (Windows XP SP2):
-> Start
-> Control Panel
-> Bluetooth Configuration
-> Local Services (this is for inbound connections, ignore the "Client Applications")
-> Add Serial Device (this will cause a few screens to pop up go through the new hardware found process...)
-> in the new window, give the title something like "Bluetooth Serial Port - Presenter".
-> make note of the COM Port listed here
-> uncheck the "Secure connection"
-> click "OK"
Now open up presenter and set it to the COM port you've just added (mine initially was COM10).
On your phone, go to the Presenter application and select your computer as the device to connect to and wallah! Hopefully that helps someone.

I recorded a presentation and saved it to my computer. Shouldn't I be able to preview the the presentation by going to the power point and selecting preview?

If you are selecting the Preview button in the Presenter ribbon in PPT, then yes.

Problem with Presenter Mobile (with an LMS)

I'm trying to view a Presenter presentation using the Adobe Presenter Mobile app. The presentation has been loaded into a Learning Management System (Desire2Learn) and it works fine on a computer. It won't load on the iPad. It just shows the introduction screen with the loading symbol circling.

Problem with Reader

Help.
I have 2 docs, created by Adobe Presenter, and I can only read one of them. The other just clocks while displaying "Adobe Presenter". But this is not the case for everyone. It works for some, not for others.
What is the variable? Missing software, a setting in the presenter doc when built? Setting by laptop?
Help??

Problem with OBPM Studio 10.3.2

Hi all,
I now have OBPM Studio 10.3.2 instead of 10.3.1. This new version indeed eliminates the loading part of presentations when you change a field.
But now I have another problem with presentations. When I try to add a group with either Basic or Custom Layout, it gives me an exception.
The exception is --> "An Unexpected Error Has occured" and all details of that error.
When I try and close it without saving and re-open studio, I cannot again open the presentation. It keeps giving me the same error. Even "Continue" does not work.
How do I resolve the error?
Or is there a patch online on this error?

Yes, there is a patch that fixed a couple of problems I was having with presentations as well. Try searching in metalink.oracle.com (or support.oracle.com) and for it.

Problem with linear chart

Hello.
After two days tray to solve problem, I need your help.
I have problem with presentation some data. Data growning aproxx. linear. I read this data from device. Sometime my .vi not successful read data and in this case my chart have sags to zero (see on picture)

How I can make chart : if not succesfull read data use previous value to show on the graph? In this case I not have big sags to zero.

easy solution: when you don't want those zeros in your chart you shouldn't put them into the chart plot!

old value := new value

Localizing Analytics Web Catalog - problem with variables

I tried to localize strings in OBI EE Web Catalog. I exported those captions using catalog manager, translate messages in XML file and put them to \Web\Res\l_xx\Captions. It works quite good.
But there is problem with variables in Title. Replacement of variables STOP working :-( At the page is displayed for example: "@{biServer.variables['MaxDate']}". Variable replacemen works fine in narrative views.
Do you have some ideas?

We have the same problem with presentation variables in titles using externalize strings option, they stopped working after tranlation.
We tried with Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.2.1 and 10.1.3.3.3 with same result.

In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.

Resolution problem with pdf presentation from CS4 in Bridge

I have CS4 and am consistently having problems creating multipage pdf files using Bridge; though they are created using 300 dpi files in Photoshop CS4 the resulting multipage pdfs from Bridge are not print quality. I never had a problem with this before Bridge was required to create pdf presentations. The files used to create the presentation in Bridge are either psd or Photoshop pdf at 300 dpi. I am completely self-taught in Photoshop and my skill level is moderate at best, but I am not finding anything to help me so far in searching google and forums. Does anyone have any info to point me in the right direction? thanks-

PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in.

I've installed Adobe Presenter V7.0.7 Build 7746. When I open an existing PowerPoint file and try and use Presenter, I get the following error: PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in?
No, I don't want to disable it. When I click No, PowerPoint stops working. I get a message that says: Microsoft PowerPoint has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Widows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. My only choice is to click the Close program button.
When I open the PPT file again, I get the same "experienced a serious problem" message. If anyone has a solution to this, I'd appreciate knowing what it is. It took me a while just to get the Presenter option to appear in the PowerPoint toolbar. Now that I have it, it's not working.

Thank you for your quick reply. Here are the answers to your questions.
1. The file I'm having issues with was not created using any version of Presenter. It is simply a PowerPoint file.
2. The file is a PPT not PPTX.
3. I am running Windows7 and Office 2010.
I think I might have found the solution to the problem. I opened the PPT file and saved it as a PPTX file. Then I clicked the Presenter option in the PowerPoint toolbar and was able to select different Presenter options with no issues. I opened other PPTX files and I did not get the error window stating 'PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in'.
This seems to work. So, it appears that any PPT file needs to be saved as a PPTX file before using Presenter. If you have another solution that I might be able to keep in my back pocket (in case this happens again and what I did does not work), then please answer. Otherwise, I'm good now.

The problem with asterisk is that in a normal setup without a Cisco firewall it would be obligated to define the global address or NATTED IP for SIP payload but with the ASA inspection the ASA needs to see the real IP so it can modify this payload with NATTED IP.
Just disable asterisk function to map the global IP and let the ASA inspect.
