Problem with Soa suite 10.1.3.5

Hi all,
Ive installed Soa suite 10.1.3.5 on my local machine....when i deploy any new BPEL process into the server it deploys fine...but if i make any changes and redeploy the Bpel
Process it fails...i enconuuter the following error..im using jdev 10.1.3.5...some one plzz help
BUILD FAILED
H:\IDE's\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\XMLRead\ReadPOO\build.xml:78: A problem occured while connecting to server "localhost" using port "8888": bpel_ReadPOO_1.0.jar failed to deploy. Exception message is:  Error deploying BPEL suitcase.
An error occurred while attempting to deploy the BPEL suitcase file "F:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\bpel\domains\default\tmp\bpel_3720685.tmp"; the exception reported is: archive cannot rename F:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\bpel\domains\default\tmp\.bpel_ReadPOO_1.0_915393db390a67c71d415e48c1dd00be.tmp

Quick workaround for this issue is to deploy the BPEL process as a new version everytime.

What is the highest Java version running with SOA Suite v10.1.3.3 ?
From my point of view at least v1.4.1
Maybe v1.5
but not v1.6
Is this true?
Peter

I guess only 1.5.
1.6 is officially not supported and 1.4 does break stuff, I tried running it with it, and didn't even come up.

• Dynamic Adapter (endpoint) with SOA suite/OSB

We have a requirement to set the adapter type for referenced services during the runtime, that is to say that we cannot decide whether to use FILE adapter, FTP adapter or JMS adapter or Web Service during design time.
I know we can use dynamic partner link to set the properties of adapter (for example, dynamic set the output folder for FILE adpater), but can we even set the adapter type during the runtime? For example, use FILE adpater if order amount < 1000, otherwise use FTP adapter.
I'm fresh with SOA suite and OSB. Can anybody help me out?
BTW: without OSB service virtulization, is it possible to change the adapter for composition service after deployment. For example, in design time, I used Web Service for composition service (one-way), but after deployment, i'd like to change it to FILE adapter.
Much appreciate in advance.
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
For example, use FILE adpater if order amount < 1000, otherwise use FTP adapter. For this use case, you may easily use Dynamic Routing action in OSB. Please refer -

• JCA adapter Integration with SOA suite

Hi all,
Where can I find documentation or reference regarding integration of third party adapter with SOA suite?
There is an option of Third Party Adapter in SOA project of JDeveloper. When I drag it onto the composite.xml file, a window comes up asking for wsdl, jca files, etc. So I would like to know if there is any example or tutorial on how to integrate a third party adapter with SOA suite. Thanks.
Regards,
K.Hein

Thanks Anuj!
It seems like a new way of integrating JCA adapter to SOA suite.
Actually, I was only aware of integrating as a third party adapter as mentioned in this article (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/luttikhuizen-adapters-091679.html) which require wsdl and jca files.
Are there any difference between those two approaches? Which would be the recommended approach for JCA adapter integration with SOA? Thanks again for your informative replies.

• OSB Free with SOA Suite licensing?

Is OSB comes free with SOA Suite Licensing, in other words do we need to take a separate license for OSB, in case we have for SOA suite??

I think OSB requires a separate license but you may confirm it with your local Oracle Sales Representative -

• Intermittent problem with PC Suite - no text is di...

I have an intermittent problem with PC Suite - every so often it will stop displaying any text.
For eaxmple, right-click on the task bar icon gives a list of icons for backup, messages, sync etc., but the text is missing.  Also, the 'tool-tips' in the application itself are empty grey boxes.
Restarting PC Suite solves the problem for a while, but it always comes back.
The main problem is that when it gets in this state, incoming call alerts don't show the name/number.
Has anyone else had this and managed to sort it.
I'm running PC Suite 7.1.40.6 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T61p running Windows XP SP3.  The phone is a 6230i connected via Bluetooth.
Thanks.
Alan.

Yes the Support line directed me to try a different USB port, with no luck.
Also looked for the connection in windows device manager>>nothing appeared except the computers ports...
Hi, Here is something what you could try to do: 1. Uinstall Nokia PC Suite 6.82.22 (or 6.7 or 6.8x) and restart PC. 2. Go to Windows' Control Panel and open "Add or Remove Programs" application. 3. If there are "PC Connectivity Solution" (or "Nokia PC Connectivity Solution" and/or "Nokia Connectivity Cable driver", uninstall those and restart PC. 4. Install PC Suite 6.82.22 and restart PC. If problem happen again: 1. Go to Windows' Control Panel and open "Add or Remove Programs" application. 3. Select "PC Connectivity Solution", click "Change" and then "Repair". 4. After Repair, restart PC. And if no help again: Save RegPCSuiteComponents.bat file to C:\Program Files\PC Connectivity Solution\ folder. Then go that folder and run it (double-click that file). After that restart PC. Does any of those help you??
I've tried your 1st & 2nd suggestions....but I can't find the "connectivity solution" folder you mention (and being a complete noob (!) I don't know what a .bat file is (nor how to use it lol)
In fact I can't find PC Suite anywhere in the program files. I REALLY think that it wasn't installed OK....it should not have taken less than one second to download if it took 1 3/4 hrs initially

• What is  OLite database which come with SOA suite ?

Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I saw that there is something named OLite database that installs with SOA suite in Standard mode , can some one explain me what is this product ?
thanks

oLite is the shortcut for Oracle Lite - which is a small database, storing
a) bpel data, like it's process artifacts, as well as execution data - audittrails,
b) dt and runtime data from ESB
c) OWSM configurations
without this component running, the SOA Suite will not work
For production use we recommend to install a fledged oracle db - and run the repository creation assistant, which will create the needed db objects

Hi.
I suspect you have a proxy server between your localhost and the
drive-app1.drivesoftwaresolutions.com
Probably in Jdev that proxy is setup nicely in Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and Proxy
But maybe your OC4J container running BPEL on localhost does not have that proxy setup.
You need to add startup parameters to the JVM. In 10.1.3 you can do this via the "AS Control" administration pages (there is a link on the SOA suite welcome page). Go to JVM, click on the container and switch to the "Administration" tab.
The properties are proxySet, proxyHost, proxyPort and nonProxyHosts
When deploying from JDev, the compilation in JDev works fine (uses the proxy). But when the JAR is transferred to the server, it is compiled again. This fails because the proxy is not used on the server side and it cannot read the wsdl.

• Problem configuring SOA suite to use OID for authentication

We are in the process of rebuilding our environment to use the full SOA suite with our OID server for authentication (was previously just BPEL using AD directly), and have encountered several problems (below). We have rebuilt the OID server, and reinstalled the SOA suite into a clean ORACLE_HOME to no avail.
We first rebuilt the OID server using the following steps (derived from Oracle® Internet Directory Administrator's Guide):
1)     Create the Import and Export profiles for AD synchronization. We did this using the Directory Integration and Provisioning Server Administration tool under “Active Directory Configuration”
2)     Modify the map file to specify the correct OU mappings between AD and OID.
3)     Update the profile with the new map file using “dipassistant.bat mp”
4)     Bootstrap the import profile using “dipassistant.bat bootstrap”
5)     Start a new instance of the Integration server (odisrv) running on config set 1 (the config set containing the Active Directory import/export profiles) using “oidctl”
6)     Set the Import profile to Enable. The OID server does not export changes to AD in our current configuration, so the Export profile is left on disable (and not bootstrapped)
At this point it appears that the AD synchronizes correctly into our new OID server.
Next we installed the SOA suite:
1)     We ran “irca.bat” on our database server to create the ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM schemas and associated integration repository structure.
2)     After launching the SOA suite installer, we selected Advanced Install.
3)     On the next screen, we selected J2EE Server, Web Server, and SOA Suite.
4)     We then provided the credentials for our Oracle database, and the passwords for ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM.
5)     We configured our new AS instance as an administration instance, but did not opt to use from a separate HTTP server, and did not make this instance part of an OAS cluster topology.
And finally, we configured our new SOA suite instance to use OID for authentication (using the instructions in Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide section 2.1.3):
1)     Used the configure_oid.bat command to seed OID with required users only.
2)     Logged into the OracleAS Control Console
3)     Chose the oc4j_soa instance, then Administration->Security->Identity Management
4)     Configured the OID server using a non-ssl connection and the cn=orcladmin account.
5)     When prompted, chose to reconfigure all applications in the oc4j_soa instance to OID, but not to use SSO for any of them.
6)     Copied the contents of ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\config\jazn.xml to ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\oc4j_soa\config\jazn.xml
7)     Restarted the application server.
After this procedure, we encountered the following issues:
1)     The BPEL console appears to authenticate users correctly out of OID, but no users have access to the default domain, including bpeladmin and oc4jadmin. All users receive a similar access denied message when attempting to log into the BPEL Admin Console.
2)     We cannot upload a BPEL process to our new server via JDeveloper’s standard BPEL deployment mechanisms. The connection appears to be working properly and passes all tests, but on uploading a process we get a Java AccessDeniedException. ESB appears to be functioning properly, and accepts uploaded projects without issue.

Bassman,
We recently configured our SOA Suite to use OID and SSO. We had the same issues you are having, and we found the resolutions in a blog from Jaas Poot (http://blog.jpoot.com/category/oracle-appserver/oid-ldap/). For the BPEL domain access, this involved going to the data-sources.xml file and changing the database passwords from using ->pwForOrabpel for the orabpel schema and ->pwForOraesb for the oraesb schema to the real passwords; the blog explains more about this.
The blog also covers the JDeveloper deployment issue, and another issue we encountered, where we couldn't access the BPEL Admin console. All of these were resolved following the steps in the blog.
Hope this helps

• Problems starting SOA suite on Windows XP

Hi,
I have installed the Soa Suite succesfully om my laptop (WinXP sp2, 2mb intern) according to the procedures.
When I want to start the soa suite. I see that the home instance get status alive..is this correct? I also can't load the AS manager console using the url localhost:8888/em (non of the urls are reachables)..
Am I missing some post installation step?
Thanks for helping me!

Hi,
I have installed the Windows Look-back adapter successfully. However, this still doesn't make sense. During the start-up phase I'm getting several errors that all the component urls are not responding..e.g http://localhost:8888/em..even after a reboot the problem repeats.
Therefore, I decided to completely undo the installation but that even brings more problems.
I have uninstalled the soa suite completely including the stopping the services and cleaning the registry. However this time the installation seems to hang during the configuaration of the OWSM assistent...(not the OPMN assistent this time)...here's my output-fragment at the time the installation procedure hangs:

• Problem starting SOA Suite

Hi,
I am facing a problem while starting SOA Suite. I have it installed on top of a 10gR2 database. Whenever i start it , its component start in init mode. I have to shut it down and restrt to bring them to alive status. This behaviour is consistent.
Earlier i thought its because of my DB install, but recently came to know my other colleagues with a basic install (Olite) are also facing the same issue.
Is this a bug or is there a patch for it ?
Thanks in advance

Did you install the SOA suite against the 'localhost' on your workstation. It could that i tries to resolve the hostname of your machine that is not in the DNS. Add your hostname in your local hosts file.

• Installing 10g adapters with SOA suite 10.3.1

I am trying to do a full install (run-time & design-time) Adapters (JDE) for Oracle 10g on an existing installation of SOA suite 10.1.3, with app server 10.3.1. The product documentation talks about installing J2EE and web cache installation, but in this forum I also read that adapters are not supported for this release. It would very helpful if somebody could tell me the steps and products that I need for installing the adapters. The installation presently on my machine are:
1. SOA Suite 10.3.1
2. Jdeveloper
3. Oracle XE database.

@Shailesh: I ran into the same problem, so i think that it is the same: You probably just have the wrong Version (10.1.2.0.2 or so) of Adapters. Try the one from this page, which installed without problems on my machine:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html
The documentation for this version is available here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28995/toc.htm
@user605650: Universal Installer always proposes a new ORACLE_HOME with its own name and file location. This is indeed a bit misleading. Just do not type a new path for the new Name. Simply choose the Name(!) of the SoaSuite-OracleHome from the Dropdown-Box above the Path-Inputfield (something like oracleas1 or so), and the Path-field will update itself. Then just do the installation.
Hope that helps, bye,
Magnus

• OracleBAMAdapter Configuration problem in SOA suite 11g

Hi,
In Oracle SOA suite 11g(11.1.1.2.0), OracleBAMAdapter configuration using WebLogic server console is resulting in the following error
* An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
* [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: oracle.soa.workflow.wc, exact-match: false].
Steps used for configuration:
1) Modify adapter configuration using navigation:: Deployments -> OracleBAMAdapter -> Configuration -> Outbound Connection Pools -> oracle.bam.adapter.adc.RMIConnectionFactory -> eis/bam/rmi
2) Specified connection properties with BAM server port details
HostName localhost
InstanceName ADCServer1
Password welcome1
PortNumber *9001*
UserName weblogic
In config.xml (%Domains%/soa_domain/config/) , I could see the following library entry
<library>
<name>[email protected]</name>
<target>AdminServer,soa_server1</target>
<source-path>K:\OracleFMW\Oracle_SOA/soa/modules/oracle.soa.workflow_11.1.1/oracle.soa.workflow.wc.jar</source-path>
<security-dd-model>DDOnly</security-dd-model>
<staging-mode>nostage</staging-mode>
</library>
Could you please help resolving this issue?
Regards
Naveen

I do not think that would qualify as a solution :-). I was negligient in deploying Work Flow Application, and was not deselecting the checkbox in 11.1.1.2.0 JDeveloper, which reads out like "Deploy to all the servers". Thus it was trying to deploy it to BAM server as well as the Admin Server. I had to deselect it. It's pretty mundane thing that I was missing.
Warm regards.
