Problem with "tile" effect in FCPX

hello !
my problem is that FCPX renders unwanted "borders" (on both sides of the center column) while i use tiling (images below)
please help. i have no idea where they came from or how to get rid of them. these lines are messing with my whole project !
what am i doing wrong ?

project properities are 1280x720 @ 60fps
media properties are 568x408 @ 30fps ~2500kbit/s mpeg4
if i scale down (or up) i can still see those borders (lines) however they occur sometimes in other places
i tried non-black background and "lines" are in fact narrow spaces that are transparent (lower layers can be seen through those spaces)... so in conclusion FCP adds empty spaces between tiles
any idea ?

Problem with keyframe effect - at start and end (crop and scale)

I'm having this odd problem with keyframe effects.
Setup:
I have a gif image that I have on video 1 for say 2 minutes.
I have my real video on video 2. It is a person talking.
First I start with my video full size on top of video 1.
Though the motion and cropping keyframe management I slowly reduce the scale and crop my video image so that it is reduced to the lower left bottom of the screen, on top of the gif, which is now revealed.
My problem is at the start and end of the transition from full video to small box on lower left on top of my gif I often get 1-2 frames where the video goes blank and/or I get a bunch of random red bars on black background appearing on the video - Or I get the gif from video 1 without the video 2 at all (it disappears).
I've tried moving my start of end of the transition to skip the bad spots - but these new transition starts or ends not get their own bad spots in the same way. Its only a couple of frames but it's really unacceptable for the finished video.
Note, when I say transition here I don't mean real transition events, but rather the start of effects that are managed with keyframes. My move from start to end of the effect runs for about 4-6 seconds.
Any ideas?

Here is more detail and screen captures.
Concept:
I have 3 minutes of video. It contains a person making a speech. During parts of the speech I want to reveal a graphic image that will be discussed. The speech will begin with the speaker full screen. Half way in, the speaker will shrink down to 45% in the lower left corner of the screen. While the animation occurs (the shrink, move and cropping) it will reveal the graphic below. The graphic will take up the full screen with the speaker at 45%.
Technique:
I put the video in Video 2 and the graphic, a GIF image in Video 1. The scene begins with the speaker talking at full screen. After a minute, I animate the move of the speaker using Motion: Scale and Position and Effect: Crop changing Top, Bottom, Left and Right sides. The animation occurs over approximately 8 seconds.
I am manually adding keyframes at the start and end of the animation. I set the ending state of the video image in the end keyframes. The interpolation between these start and end keyframes should be managing the animation.
Problem:
At the beginning and end of the animation – usually 1-3 frames from the start and 1-3 frames from the end, where the change has barely begun or almost ended, I get these problems. On some frames, the video (in Video 2) completely disappears only showing the Video 1 GIF image below. On other frames, the video image turns black with horizontal red bands half way across.
Troublshooting:
I’ve tried deleting all start and end keyframes and moving the start and end earlier or later to see if I can fix this, but the problem continues to show up in these new locations.
I have added a few screen shots.
1:32:15 is the start of the animation change and 1:40:22 is the end of increasing from the mini video speaker to full size (on top of the GIF).
At 1:40:16 the video image completely disappears only showing the GIF below.
At 1:40:17 its back and slowly increases in size through the interpolation until it is full size at 1:40:22.

I have a problem with the effect gallery and the saving libraries in Illustrator
1. When you go to to effects > effect Gallery the the sketch filter always is black and white. Is this normal? In Photoshop you can set your background and foreground and the sketch effects takes those colors. Is there any way to do this in Illustrator? I have tried changing the colour of the fill and stroke but nothing...
2. In the same area as before effects > effect Gallery .... In Photoshop you can add multiple filters with the create new button. Always is off is there anyway to make it available? or the only way is to by creating several individual ones and manage then in the appearance panel ...
3. I saved a brush library and now it appears in the user defined area so I can get it in any document, that is good but any one knows how to delete a user undefined library?

I see that it is six months ago that I first posted this. Nothing has changed. When I use affixa to create a message with an attachment from my gmail account in firefox, the message is created in drafts, but the gmail window is closed and I have to re-open it. Not critical, but annoying.
Now there is a plug-in on the affixa site that is supposed to be designed for Firefox, and which affixa support claims should take care of this. And I've downloaded it twice. When you download it and open it, it says that it will be installed when Firefox restarts, and gives you a button to restart Firefox. But after you click that button and firefox disappears and re-appears, the affixa plug-in is NOT in the plugin list.
Please, somebody, HELP.

Problem with After Effects CC 12.1

Hello,
I have a problem with After Effects CC ver.12.1. It does not work on my mac (with os x mavericks).
I am a member of Cretive Cloud and I have a latest version of After Effects and it does not work.
Other programs, like: Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or Illustrator works fine.
But when I run the AE I get the message "You can not start After Effects -10810"
Where is the problem?

Same here, I get these messages - I'm confused as to why it says version 12.0 as it should be 12.1!

Problem with After Effects crashing machine when rendering

Ive been having a repeated problem with after effects crashing when I try to render a sequence.
The render halts then first After Effects becomes unresponsive then every other applications follows and I have to hard-restart my machine.
Can anyone help me find out how to stop this happening?

What exact version of After Effects? Include the minor version number---e.g., After Effects CC (12.2.1) or After Effects CS6 (11.0.4). Do not just say "After Effects with the latest updates" or "After Effects CC"; give the specific version number.

Performing a render, the render gets partially through but stops at different parts and hangs, then the computer hangs and I have to hard reset.
Has this ever worked before? If this worked before by doesn't work now, what has changed on your computer in the intervening time?
I had a similar problem two days ago, i thought it could be a problem with some animated png sequences and a "matte feather" effect so i replaced the sequences with non animated versions and it seemed to fix the problem.

TS4436 Problem with camera effects.. Browsed my gallery all my photo effects gone ?

Just noticed before uploading pictures that all my effects I'd applied on camera shots have returned to natural or no effect when I browsed the gallery , when you click edit however the picture is with the effect I started with and you cannot re apply it unless you change it ... Anyone else having this problem ??

I have te same unfortunate problem. Only happens in iPad. cameraRoll.browseForImage() opens a new window but wherever I touch (on folders, or anywhere on the window or out of the window) it dispatches a Cancel event and closes window.
I tried to dispatch flash.events.Event.DEACTIVATE, from nativeStage and from cameraRoll, before and after calling cameraRoll.browseForImage() , but still it was behaving same as above.
I tried setting displayState as:
Starling.current.nativeStage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;
But no help neither.
It doesn't show any error, I don't have any other solutions to come up with. I feel that somehow I need to invoke application to deactivate, to let my touches focus on CameraRoll window, but I don't know how to do this actually (I tried to dispatch DEACTIVATE event from various sources but I dont believe it is an effective way of doing it).
I use AIR 16.0 with Starling, test on iOS 8.1.

Problem with After effects present text animations

When I want to use the text animation presets I get an error message, an example is when I want to use a text "animate in" preset and got the following error message: After Effects error: Can't import file "Fly In From Bottom.ffx": unsupported filetype or extension. ( 0 :: 1 ). I have check my bridge script settings and they are activated for After effects.

Sounds like you are trying to import a FFX file instead of applying an animation preset. Some users are reporting problems with Bridge. Just type the name of the animation preset into the Effects and Presets panel and apply it from inside AE.

Problem with After Effects startup: "empty" panels

I'm experiencing a wicked problem with AE CS4. First of all, it crashes frequently, most recently every time when trying to RAM preview a composition which used CC Particle World-effect. The main problem occurs when I start AE again after a crash. I get the following startup image:
And then comes this:
It seems that AE is actually "working" correctly, it's only that it doesn't show anything on screen. Sometimes it returns to normal if I close Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefox or Spotify. Sometimes I have to close all of them and then restart AE. Right now I tested restarting AE after about 15 minutes after the above images were captured without closing any other programs, and surprisingly it's running fine now. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think that this after-crash-problem has occured before even with compositions which do not have Particle World applied.
I'm not exactly a wizard with computers, but I'm guessing this has got something to do with my graphics card? I'm running Windows XP with Intel Core i7 processor, 3 GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 graphics card. Oh, and I always have OpenGL disabled in After Effects.
Any advice how to get rid of this annoying bug? Also, if anyone has any insight about the Particle World crashing on me, I'd appreciate the help. I read somewhere about a similar problem with Macs, but nothing with Windows PC.

I was so sure it wasn't because the amount of apps running in the background, since crashes and the "after-crash-problems" didn't happen all the time. The computer is my employer's, and I think it was built with 64 bit Windows 7 in mind. For a reason I don't know they decided to go with XP after all, which is kind of weird since there actually is 6 GB RAM inside, but XP can use only half of that amount. Now I guess I just have to start harassing my boss to buy me a 64 bit Win 7.
Todd, I have the latest update installed. Do you think the CC Particle World crash happens also because of low RAM and all this Edsel-thing (had to look that one up!)? I have used the effect many times before with the same computer with no problems at all.

Starting Problems with After Effects

Today I bought my 1 year membership for the creative cloud. Now I have some problems with starting After effects. First of all, after downloading the program reported Error U44M1P7. I ignored it and opened the program. After 5 minutes, it showed me the next problem: A plug in could not be opend After Effects CC\Support files\(Media Core plug ins)\Common\ImporterJEPG.prm. I klicked OK an saw the next error "The plug in Anywhere2.aex , MediaBrowse.aex , RQ Monitor.aex coulnd't be loaded, (39§ 23) is not supporting and finaly "After effects can't work" - end of my story.

Auch gut möglich, dass das Ujpdate einfach in die hose gegangen ist und dadurch inkompatible Komponenten entstanden sind. einfach das Cleaner Tool drüber und neu installieren.

Problems with timewarp effect!

I am very new to more advanced software for cinematography. I found this timewarp effect in After Effects that works just AMAZING! My problem was by default it cuts the end of my video when I attempt to dramatically slow it down. (Again still does an amazing job!) I've searched all over the Adobe website including the help files and forums, but nothing that anyone suggested worked. I applied time remapping before I used the timewarp effect. Nothing changed! I time stretched the video and applied timewarp at 100% to prevent cutting. Timewarp didn't work! So if any professional can help me here and explain my dilemma and a solution in the easiest words possible, that would be most appreciated. One other note: Anyone know the best place to get online tutorials (possibly free)? Thanks. Please respond.

Strange new problem with external effects and latency compensation

i'm currently facing a new , very strange problem with latency compensation for external effect devices. it alway worked fine for me but suddenly there are strange things going on. i'm suddenly running into problems when using sends which feed auxes going to external effect devices.
latency compensation is set to ALL !!!
easy setup :
- open an empty project and create 2 audioinstrument tracks. on the first one load the exs with a drumkit and record f.e. a bassdrum pattern. leave the 2. instrument empty.
- now on the first audio instrument create a send to bus 1 -> aux 1 and insert the i/o plug-in in the aux and route it to your external effect device. chose a temposynced delay.
- press play = everything is fine when audioinstrument 1 is highlighted in the arrange.
- press stop, click on the track with the 2. audioinstrument and press play = totaly weird timing problems. delay is only in sync when track 1 is highlighted.
- create a send in the 2. audioinstrument and route it to bus 1 -> aux 1 too = still the same problem
now insert ANY softwareinstrument in audioobject 2 and suddenly the timing for the delay is right.
go ahead and create a 3. audioinstrument track but leave it empty first. chose it in the arrange = again weird timing problems with the external delay.
insert any software instrument on audioinstrument 3 = still the same problem
now create the send to bus 1 -> aux 1 in audioinstrument 3 and guess what, timing is right.
*** is going on here ? can anyone reproduce that ?
it works fine when using sends which feed auxes with software effects inserted.
funny thing is, when i go to the environment and change aux object one to bus object 1 and insert the same i/o in it it works !!!
very very strange, please tell me i'm not crasy and this is a bug !!!
as said, latency compensation is set to all.
i'm using the mac pro 3.2 8-core running os 10.5.4, logic 8.0.2 and a motu pci-e audio system.

Welcome to the Discussions.
If you need it formatted FAT32, reformat it on your Mac. Use MS-DOS (FAT32) as the file system. If you don't need it for both PC and Mac, format it HFS+ and you'll be able to use the Retrospect Express software that came with it on your Mac.

QUADRO CX & Open-GL problem with After Effects

Hi,
Im using Adobe After Effects CS4 on my 8-core intel machine with a brand new QUADRO CX graphic card i just bought.
With After Effects I noticed that when I apply the Turbulent Noise OR Fractil Noise and turn on OPEN-GL it shows a different pattern than when I turn off OPEN-GL in AE.
I think this is a problem with OPEN-GL. Does someone have the same problem? What do I need to do? I mean I bought this card for a high price and it shows me this strange problem..

Most likely it's a bug that somehow skews the random seed. Beyond that - no idea. I'm still saving money for a new computer and a CX simply isn't in the budget, so chances are slim that I will ever be useful in these matters. ;-) Just make sure to file it on the official bug report form: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish. Otherwise, as a joint venture product, the CX certainly comes with some kind of extended support on Adobe's end, so a call to support might provide some help (after the 5th of January).

Is there a problem with Indesign effects exporting to PDF?

Hi All... Since updating to the latest version of Indesign, I can't seem to get my effects to work when I export into a PDF? Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the new version of Indesign? I have a job that I'm urgently trying to get out but can't get the drop shadow or bevel emboss to transfer to the PDF that needs to go to my client? Can anyone help me with this ASAP pleeeeease???

That is reason, why it looks like it looks. But what happens if you replace the spot to a process color?

Problem with tiles ..VERY URGENT!

I have a problem using tiles.
I have a search page called search.jsp. It calls a searchResults.jsp page when user enters searchcriteria and clicks the search button. I want to have the results on the same page in the bottom part.
I tried using Struts tiles but I have to make it understand that my results should appear on the same page at the bottom.I could not figure it out.
Please help me out.Its very urgent.
