Problem with variable in the woorkbook selection screen.

Hi All,
I have Problem with Variable in the selection screen. I have four variable in the report in this sequence
<b>Plant (optional), calendar month (mandatory), material (optional), Customer (mandatory). </b>
In Development system, I changed the query to fix the problem for a formula. saved and executed the query. In the selection screen appeared four variables and executed. after executing the query and I saved the work book also. I logged out of the Bex Analyzer. In the RSRT I generated the report by clicking the Generated Report push button. and again logged into the Bex analyzer and ran the work book, now in the selection screen, appeared three Variables only, I am missing the variable <b>Customer</b>.
The old report which is already in the Production system is working fine. What could be the mistake I did in the development system.
It is very urgent, I need to deliver this object as soon as possible.
Can I anybody help on the same.

I did what you said. I removed the variable from characteristic restrictions, saved the query and executed the query, appeared three variables Plant, Calender month and material. executed and saved the work book. disconeted from Bex analyzer, in RSRT Generated Report and logged into Bex analyzer ran the work book for selection Plant, calender month and material and went into change query definition and added the variable for customer which was removed earlier and and ran the query for selections Plant, Calender monmth, Material and customer. saved the work book. disconnected from Bex analyzer and closed all excel sheets and work books. In RSRT Generated Report and again connected to Bex analyzer and ran the work book, now appeared only three variables again missed variable customer.
Yunus does any missed n the procedure what i did.

I have program which has a user defined selection screen 9001. On executing the selection screen i call a ALV using resuse_alv_grid function module.
What problem I am facing is that when I press back button from ALV page it goes to the se38 editor instead of selection screen.
How to resolve this?

Hi,
This might be due to LEAVE TO TRANSACTION statement. You might be running the program from SE38. Try to run the program using Z-TCode assigned to it.

Problem with Variable screen in WAD

Hi ,
I have a problem with variable screen in WAD , in the varable seen it is displaying only Key , it is not giving any description , but in BEX is is displaying both Key and Description , can any only have an idea why is this happening . this is occuring only for one variable , rest are working fine .

Hi Abraham,
thsi could be a problem from the specisic setting of the infocube. Please check the BEx Settings from the infocube. You can find them by the following steps:
- search for the infocube
- doubleclick on the infocube
- choose an specific infoobjekt
- right mousebutton and click "specific dataprovider settings"
- check if the right entries are set

How to replace the existing selection screen with new selection screen

I have first selection screen with parametre as a table name, then I have created dynamic selection screen as 2nd selection screen with different fields of that table as select options. This is done using genaration of dynamic report. Now If I click on button on this 2nd selction screen , then I want to replace this 2nd dynamic selection screen , with the other selection screen fields.
Can anybody guide me, How to do replace one slection screen with different selection screen.
and one imp thing is this selction screen is populating with dynamic fields on it.

As I can understand you want to make some of the screen field to disable or visible on screen depending upon the interaction of user with screen 1.
You may use this example code in PBO of screen 2.

Hiding variable values in the input selection screen.

Hello Experts,
We have an authorisation relevant characteristic on which we have built a variable. We have restricted few values for this characteristic through the analysis authorisation.
The business requirement is that these values which are maintained in the analysis authorisation should not be populated in the input selection screen for that particular variable. In other words we have to hide these values but the variable should a part of input selection screen.
Can anyone please guide on how can we hide these variable values inspite of maintaining them in our analysis authorisations.

Have you got any solution on this issue. I have same kind of issue in BI7. When running the RSRT transaction manager has to give some comments for a document option. but the subordinates should not modify or see the comments. Is there any way to restrict this access to certain users. Our requirement is to either disable the document option or should not appear in the list.
please give your inputs to find a way to solution.

Problem with Pages on the iPad 2.

Hi all,
I have been having a strange problem with Pages on the iPad that I hope someone can find a solution for.
As a writer, I find that Pages on the iPad is a very good solution to my problem of needing something small and light to transport around, whilst still allowing me to do some serious writing. I use the Apple 3 battery bluetooth keyboard, and this gives me a superb working solution.
I started using the iPad 2 to do my second book and for the first 40,000 words everything was fine. But as I started going back and forth with the cursor keys, editing passages in the book, I noticed that the cursor position did not match up with the I beam cursor on screen. As it transitioned between pages it would loose it's corresponding position and the entry point for new text could be up to six characters in either direction.
Now this is not a problem if you enter a new page, as there is nothing beyond it, but in the majority of cases it is a major problem when going back over your work and editing it. I have to manually reset the start position of every new page so as to garantee the typing will go where I want it to.
Now I thought at first this was something to do with Bluetooth keyboard, but after using the onscreen keyboard and the find and replace function, I have noticed that it loses it's position in the document in a similar way. I have included a screen shot of it finding a problem I was searching for. In this case it is ", and" to be replaced with "and," or "and". Clearly in the image you can see that it is not happy and is not selecting the right things, if I replace it will replace exactly what is selected.
Has anyone else seen this problem. It seems to happen with large or small documents and I think that this is a fundamental problem with Pages on the iPad. Seeing as I can't get Apple to acknowledge this I brought it here for everyone else to check out. If we get enough voices on this, then we can make change happen.

That's right Br Abdullah, I'm finding the same problem with my itune Arabic library that I synced to iBooks version 1.5! As you say the pages are not arranged correctly.
The other problem that I'm finding is that the highlights & notes that i have made on the books on a previous version of ibooks, when synced with ibooks version 1.5, they are scattered everywhere, and sometimes in areas where there are no texts.
I left a message on the report a bug section of iBooks on the app store, and I contacted them on their feedback of apple product issues. I don't know what else we can do. It seems that no one is listening to us. I'm Dissapointed that I upgraded my iBooks version to 1.5; I was really looking forward to reading on my new iPhone 4S (on iBooks)!
What else can we do to get our concerns heared? Somebody? Anybody?

Facing problem with logo in the PDF attachment when sending mail...

hi friends,
i'm facing problem with logo in the PDF attachment to the mail.
my requirement:
1. enter spool number and mail id in the selection screen.
process:
1. now the program will fetch the spool data and converts it to PDF.
2. but when i'm trying to send mail with this PDF as attachment.
when i open the PDF file from the mail, logo is not coming properly (looks disturbed).
can anyone help me how to resolve this issue...

Problem while hide a block on selection screen on button press

Hi,
I have added two buttons on the application toolbar of the selection screen. I have input fields under two blocks on the selection-screen. Initially the second block is hidden. If I press the button 1 the second block should be made visible.
For this to happen, I captured the button 1 click event using the following statement.
IF sscrfields-ucomm = 'FC01'.
Inside the if ... endif, I looped at the screen and made the second block visible. It was working fine.
loop at screen.

     screen-active    = 0.

Later the second button was added. Now when i run the report for the first time, if button 2 is clicked the hidden block appears on the selection screen even though i have not added any code for it.
Just to check, i commented the logic to display the hidden block on button 1 click event. Even without any code the first time i press any of the two buttons added on the application toolbar the hidden block is displayed.
I saved a variant for the report.
During execution of the report, if i select any variant then the hidden block is displayed.
Can anyone please tell me how to fix this problem.

Alv is not appearing in the same Selection Screen

First you have to create you own screen ( dynpro ) with a screen number ( 0101 for exemple ) , you need to pu a custom control in it , name the custom control ( lo_cont )
For the screen created you need to create a module for the PBO , in this module you sould put you code for displaying the liste :

training courses. Having an annoying problem with variables that
i'm hoping has a simple solution. Any help with this will be much
appreciated.
All the info is held in an external text file which looks
like this (but much longer):

will show the time for the latest course with that date. For
example - course 1 is on 15 sept at time 10:00 to 16:00, course 2
is also on 15 sept at time 11:00 to 16:00. When 15 Sept is chosen
for course one it displays the time for course 2 on this date -
presumably because it comes later in the text file.
I've attached the actionscript for this - Can anyone help me
sort this out??

Change of variable text in BEx selection screen

Hi all,
in our BW system the key users are allowed to create queries and also create variables. In some cases, especially for often used info objects like 0DATE the number of variables is increasing very quickly. The reason for this is, that 0DATE is used for a big variety of meanings e.g. delivery date, order date, invoice date etc.
So the users always create new variables only to have a meaningful description in the BEx selection screen, because they do not want only "date" to be displayed here. As result we have many different varianbles with exactly the same technical settings with only different names.
So my question is: Is it possible to change the diplayed text in the selection screen for each query without having to create a new variable?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Problems with stills on my timeline (Orange screen of shame)

So, I tried the VSO Image resizer and found it simple to use. It seems to be fine, thanks for the
recommendation.   I think Photoshop might provide better control, but for the purposes of my current project, this VSO Image is convenient.
Using Pre Vers 7
Turns out I still have a problem with two of the images (jpg format)
1) I bring them onto the timeline just fine.
2) Then, I save as a clip ("share" tab) the entire project (which is approx 3 1/2 minutes) in MPEG2 1440x1081i 30 format.
3) I then bring that movie clip onto a different --- what will be the final --- project.   I bring on a few other segments as well (finished project will run approx 20 mins and consist of six segments)
Where two of the images are supposed to be shows a solid, bright orange screen, not the still images. I've gone back and checked, the organe screen space is exactly where these two images are on the original projects ... they even have transitions (cross dissolve) into and out of them!
I have tried removing them and replacing them and changing the transitions, etc. However, when I re-save   (share) the clip, where these images are still shows up orange.
I've seen this happen with a couple images on a different project. Same story   . .    only a couple images create the issue, and I believe I've processed all that same (did batch process to down res)

Thanks for the responses.   Here's a bunch more info. Perhaps too much, but I want to be thorough.
Info on Project:
Running Prel 7
Set up project in format HDV 1080i (video frame size 1440 x 1080)
Content consists of:|
video (HD captured from tape, wide screen HD   …..   clips in .m2t format)
stills   (jps … see below)
JPGs    History / processing sequence of stills
a) Initial image    ….   4.86M pixels, 1600 x 1062, resolution 72, file size   310K   (downloaded from web)I b) Edited in Lightroom (white balance, exposure, sharpening, cropping, etc.)   Then saved as highest quality JPG as possible    ….   4.65M pixels, 1565 x 1039, resolution 240, file size   1.3 MB
c) Used VSO image resizer.
Selected the profile entitled HDTV (1080). Resolution 1920 x 1080. “Filtering” set to “Lanczos”. Quality 90%.   Result   …   ….   5.03M pixels, 1627 x 1080, resolution 240, file size   516K.
The last image is what I brought onto the timeline.
The initial project prefs did NOT deselect "default scale to frame size".    I simply brought the content into the project and placed them on the timeline.
Everything rendered fine   (all green above timeline). And when I saved the segment (share tab, MPEG 1440x1080)) it seemed to process correctly. Then, I opened the segment (now its own m2t file) and brought it into a new project (the one I use to assemble the final movie) I see a problem. Of perhaps 20 stills, two or three are solid orange. It’s as if instead of the photograph I have a solid, bright orange screen. The transitions (typically cross dissolve) into / out of the orange image work fine.   Just that it’s an orange screen, not the photo.
Note   . . . I tried a few other things.
*** Deleted the image, re-set preferences to deselect   , brought image back into project   . . .   when processed same orange screen result.
*** Changed the position of the image on the timeline (placed in between different clips/images) . . . same result.
I checked one of the images that worked fine and saw the following:    4.85 pixels, 1571 x 1080, resolution 240,   file size 276K
System Spec:
Core2 Duo, [email protected], 3GB mem, NVidia GeForce 8800GT (512 MB), XP Pro

Problem with variables in formulas when using CrystalReportViewer

Hi! I have a problem with variables in Crystal Reports formulas, when using CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer class from VS2005-project. Now I'm using VS2005 and CR11. Though I have changed all references to new CrystalDecisions-asseblies (Ver.11.0.3300.0), when I debug the project and checkout the Viewers ReportSources FormatEngine Shows version CR9_2.... I am having the same problem:
I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer. The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI. I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
Error in formula <Report Format>.
'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
This field name is not known.
Details: errorKind
This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula. If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?
