Problem with video playback on my pc

Hi guys,
I am having trouble playing back the videos that I transferred from my Iphone 4s. I used QuickTime to play the videos, but they are so choppy, and it seems like the frame rate is out of control. It skips almost every 2 seconds. I have tried using other software to play those videos, but it still doesn't play smoothly. I have a window vista. I just updated my QuickTime Player. The videos play perfectly fine on my iphone, just when I transfer them to my pc, it has the problem I described above. I need to get those videos out of my phone becasue I'm running out of space, and I don't want to erase them before I make sure it is fine on my PC. Right now I'm not so sure. Anyone with the same problem? I saw other discussions concerning this, but none of them have the solution to it. =[

did anyone ever come up with a solution to this?...i am in the exact same situation.  i have videos of our baby that i need to get off of my phone to make room for the update, but im not willing to delete them until i am sure they will not be distorted

  • Problem with video playback with iTunes

    Several problems :
Problem with video playback with iTunes -
Since about a week, When I launch a video, it takes a long time to get started, then only the sound starts with no pictures - If I press pause then play the video is played normally. Did anyone face or heard about same kind of issue .
    Problem with permission disk errors
After re-installing White Tiger and After I installed the last OSX 10.6.5 update
    I found the following problem
    Group differs on "Applications / Utilities / AirPort Utility.app / Contents / Resources / wanArrow.png", should be 0 instead of 80.
    Last but not least :
My computer seems slow - I have 60gig free on My hard drive and I test my hard drive and everything seems all good .

What was the fix for this? Everything has sucked for my itunes video playback since the last major revision release.

  • I am having problems with video playback from the Internet such as you tube on my iPad. What's up?

I am having trouble with video playback from the Internet such as you tube. What's up?

Your video playback will also depend on your net speed. If you have slow internet, you will stream video slow. If your video stops and starts, you can try pausing it for a minute or so and then try to watch. Let more of it buffer before you try to watch.
Sometimes your connection is so slow you literally play faster than it buffers, which means it stops and stutters continually

  • Am I the only person who has problem with video playback ?

I'm having problems with the latest nvidia driver and it seems that nobody wrote about it on the forums.. After installing the latest nvidia driver (169.07-1), the video playback with xv selected will be played in purple and blue colours.. Generally red will not be shown.. So human faces are colored with a combination of purple and blue.. Everything is normal on the other hand.. Sound works perfectly, the movie can be watched smoothly even on fullscreen.. With x11, all players can show the colors but...
    1) The movie quality in Totem is very bad then...like the image is gathered together by 3x3 pixels..
    2) mplayer shows everything fine but it can't get fullscreen..
I created a nautilus script for a workaround that let's me watch the movies with fullscreen using the -fs -zoom options..
But this problem is really annoying..

1.0rc2, with some things disabled that are enabled in the Arch package (lirc, samba, and that live-media thing).
    $ pacman -Qs mplayer

I should probably also mention that I'm rolling my own kernel, and as such I'm not using the package from testing. Building it manually with the PKGBUILD from ABS though so it shouldn't be any difference though.

  • Regular problem with video playback & audio video sync

So, I am regularly having two problems (I wonder whether they are connected) that I cannot solve and am hoping someone can tell me if I am out of luck or if I need to do something or add something.
For example, because it happened again today. These are details about the file stuff:
    Type:AVI
    Bit Rate:133kbps
    Dimensions:624x352
    Audio format: LameMP3
    Frame rate: 23 frames/second
    Data Rate: 1131 kbps
    Video Sample Size: 12 bit
    Video Compression: XVID
First Problem: If I play the file - I use Media Player Classic - it plays fine. Open it in Windows Media Player and it plays fine. Try to edit it in Premiere and the file loaded into Premiere is filled with what I believe are called audio video sync problems, so I have to constantly unlink audio and video and adjust it. It loads and does not need to conform.
I have the same problem on my laptop(Windows XP Home) and desktop (XP Pro), the desktop with twice the RAM. I have the K-lite Mega codec pack installed. I would call myself a beginner when it comes to video editing. I understand generally what codecs are but I am not capable to making any tweaks to the K-lite Mega codec pack (if I should have) so it is setup as installed.
Second Problem: The video in the playback box never plays back normally. I have tried adjusting the playback settings: have changed the aspect ratio between the software and harware option and adjusted between the three desktop display options. Occasionally it is "ok" but most of the time not and never just normal.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thank you.

I tried this already and then we had a blackout so going to try again and hope it goes through before a second one...lol
    Hello:
Thank you Robert J. Johnston, the_wine_snob, Paul_LS and SteveGrisetti for your help so far.
So this is where I am at now:
Files all seem to be of the same type, so I will just say "the file" for the one I am working with right now.
Loaded file into VirtualDub.  I like that program.  Well done, whoever made it.  Did some basic cutting of unwanted stuff.  Saved as AVI.  Saved both a Direct Stream Copy and a Full Processing Copy.
Opened the FP copy in Premiere Elements and it plays without audio sync problems that I can see. Have edited it some so far and still no problems.
Before I do any more editing work, I decided to save it (SHARE) in different formats to see what happens.
Goal: Looking for no audio sync problems.  Best quality I can get with a 1GB file size limit.
Saved as DV-AVI:  plays fine.  no audio sync probelms.  love the video quality.  2.95GB, so too big
Saved as Flash:  Do not see any audio sync problems.  Do NOT like the quality (flips back and forth between clear and all pixely (is that a word).  32 MG
Saved as Mpeg: Media Player won't play it (thought Media Player with KL Mega Codec played everything?) (It loads it but doesn't play?); Quicktime won't play it.  Windows Media Player just did.  Do not see any audio sync problems.  Like the video quality. 631 MB.
Saved as Windows Media: Do not "think" there are any audio sync problems; if there are, they are very subtle.  Not crazy about video quality.  Better than flash video option though still flickers between two types of qaulity (if that makes sense) . 52MB
Any suggestions as to what I should do at this point to meet my stated goal.  I assume [share]ing is what I should do?  Is there any exporting or any other options I do not know about.  Without your help I figure I will Share to MPEG?  Not sure why Media Player won't play it and Windows Media Player will?
Any thoughts on the best choice for me?  Thanks for your help.

  • Wierd problem with video playback getting corrupted

I have a "week 38" iPod Touch 16 that didn't exhibit any negative black issues or other problems.
But ever since I did the 1.1.1 update I sometimes get weird psychedelic colors in the dark areas of the video playback (iTunes purchases or YouTube). A reset (holding both buttons for 10 seconds) solves the problem, but it will sometimes come back a few days later.
    Anyone else seeing this?

Same thing has happened on my 38 wk model, once.
It happened first on You Tube, so I thought it was a problem with that but, when I checked some videos they were also, 'psychedelic'. Those I knew WERE fine as I had loaded them only that morning and they were beautifully crisp and clear.
I was actually, showing it to a bunch of people at the time and that was a real let down after their initial 'WOW' reactions at the device.
Fortunately, I shut down. And when I restarted, all was back to normal.
Hope it doesn't do it again!!!

  • Problem with video playback on Ipod

I am having a problem I hope someone can help me with. I was given a 30GB Ipod for my birthday. I am running Windows Vista on a 3GHZ machine with 3GB of ram. I downloaded and installed the latest Itunes and Quicktime. I have no problem syncing all my music files, those synced and play properly. When I had Itunes convert some videos I had and sync them, the Ipod does not playback the video correctly. I get about 1 frame every 5-10 seconds. The audio on the video is fine and sounds normal, just the video is freezing. I loaded itunes on my XP notebook and converted and synced the exact same video and it plays great on the ipod. It appears that itunes is corrupting the video during the conversion on my Vista machine. Has anyone else ran into this and if so what is the fix?? I called support and the gentleman told me he had heard of the problem before but said their database was down and he could not access the article. He was supposed to email me the article but I never received it. Thanks for your help in advance.
    Gary

Just an update, I think I may have found the problem, but not a permanent fix. I failed to mention I am running a raid striped array. I tried inserting a 2gb usb drive with my video file into the computer. I then went into itunes and changed the itunes directory to the USB drive. I then proceeded to have Itunes convert the file for ipod, synced the file and then it played properly on the ipod. I do not have a external drive large enough to hold all my videos. It is either a problem with the raid array or the fact the files are on the boot drive. Anyone have a fix so I can you my computers hard drives??????????
    Gary
P.S. Support still has not emailed me the article they were suppose to send. I have 7 days to return the ipod and if I do not get a answer back by then I guess I will return it for something else.

  • Does anyone have problems with video playback, jerky video?

Video playback on my MacBook Pro is jerky, really not workable at all.  Has anyone else had a similar problem?

This is my pet checklist for questions regarding FCP X performance - you may have already addressed some of the items but it's worth checking.
Check the spec of your Mac against the system requirements:
    http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/specs/
Check the spec of your graphics card. If it's listed here, it's not suitable:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664
Make sure you're using the latest version of the application - FCP X 10.0.3 runs very well on my 2009 MacPro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB. I run it with Lion 10.7.3.
Check that you have at least 20% free space on your system drive.
If you have not already done so, move your Projects and Events to a fast (Firewire 800 or faster) external HD. Make sure the drive's formatted OS Extended (journalling's not required for video). You should always keep at least 20% free space on the Hard Drives that your Media, Projects and Events are on.
If you are getting crashes, there is some conflict on the OS. Create a new (admin) user account on your system. Do NOT import any of the settings etc from the old account - simply use FCP X from there - if it runs a lot better, there's a conflict and a clean install would be recommended - but remember, if you reinstall the system, and then use Migration Assistant (or anything else) to import all your old settings etc etc, you may well be importing the cause of the conflict in the first place.
Keep projects to 20 mins or less (about half that for Multicam). If you have a long project, work on short sections, make them into Compound Clips and then paste these into a final project for export.
If you ever experience dropped frames, I strongly recommend you use ProRes 422 Proxy - it edits and plays back like silk because the files are small but lightly compressed (not much packing and unpacking to do) - but remember to select 'Original or Optimised Media' (FCP X Preferences > Playback) just before you export your movie, otherwise it will be exported at low resolution.
If you have plenty of processor power, for the ultimate editing experience, create Optimised Media - most camera native files are highly compressed and need a great deal of processor power to play back - particularly if you add titles, filters or effects. ProRes 422 takes up much more hard drive space but is very lightly compressed. It edits and plays back superbly.
Hide Audio Waveforms at all times when you don't need them (both in Browser and Storyline / Timeline). They take up a lot of processor power. (Use the switch icon at the bottom-right of your timeline to select a format without waveforms if you don't need them at the moment, then switch back when you do).
Create folders in the Project and Events libraries and put any projects you are not working on currently, in those folders. This will help a lot. There's a great application for this, called Event Manager X - for the tiny cost it's an invaluable application.
    http://assistedediting.intelligentassistance.com/EventManagerX/
Unless you cannot edit and playback without it, turn off Background Rendering in Preferences (under Playback) - this will help general performance and you can always render when you need to by selecting the clip (or clips) and pressing Ctrl+R.
The biggest single improvement I saw in performance was when I upgraded the RAM from 8 GB to 16.

  • N80 new problem with video playback

I have encountered a problem I didn't expect, when playing videos my N80 sometimes re boots itself part way through the video, this happens particularly with video podcasts downloaded from the BBC, any thoughts?
Btw, it doesn't always happen at the same point in the video and most times after re booting the same video will play without fault, strange.

Hi jacobsladder, I have an Orange branded phone - with all the Orange software on it, all I did was to delete the operator settings from the phone andchange a few settings to suit myself, btw, if you delete the Orange operator settings your phone will never revert back to the Orange defaults like always on packet data etc. I was advised some time ago by Orange that if I ran my phone in gsm mode only it would be more reliable and the battery would last longer, however since firmware upgrade I'm running in dual mode without any problems, the phone is far easier to live with now - or am I just used to its quirks?
On the subject of memory cards I am aware that some brands don't work too wel but remember also that not all mini sd cards are created equal and not all manufacturers have the same sort of quality control, best to go for a genuine reputable brand - which personal experience tells me they are. Video now seems to be fine, cheers.Message Edited by bigguy on 09-Aug-2006

  • Problem with video playback in adobe premiere pro CS4

Whevener i am to put something into my video. Via it be either A fraps recorded video or a video shot by my camera... i put it in the library and drag it to the stage. then when i play it in Premiere the video just stays as a still picture but the audio plays. It does this with 2 methods i tried (Fraps and my Photosmart M537 Camera). I asked My uncle (who had the same problems with CS3) and he said that hes pretty sure theres something wrong with the Codec. I think thats it because when i put in my video that i had recorded with Hypercam 2. it worked fine. Could anybody please help me?

1 - search the forum for fraps - many problems, few successes
2 - what CODEC is used for your Photosmart M537 Camera?
If that is a STILL camera which has a video mode, you most likely need to convert to DV AVI type 2 with 16bit 48khz sound
A link with many ideas about computer setup http://forums.adobe.com/thread/436215?tstart=0
Many of the ideas at the next link are generic enough they have helped some Non-Premiere users fix problems
Work through all of the steps (ideas) listed at http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting
If your problem isn't fixed after you follow all of the steps, report back with the DETAILS asked for in the questions at the end of the troubleshooting link

  • Problem with video playback in HD

I wonder if it is "normal" reproduction cutting in certain occasions when an HD video (1280 x 720p).
I downloaded a YouTube video with that resolution and copied it to the mass memory of my Nokia N8-00. When I see him going all right, but sometimes short and says "Loading ...", sometimes 2 or 3 times in a 5 minute video.
This also happens when playing HD videos recorded with the camera. Is it normal? I think not, it seems that the processor (CPU) and the GPU are overloaded, but my phone has no more applications. I have 140 MB free memory on C and 10GB mass memory.
The only application is memory resident 'WhatsApp'. I have an N8-00 with the OS 'Nokia Belle Refresh' but this happened since 8 February (when Nokia launched 'Nokia Belle').
P / D: With Belle Refresh I do not see the number of 'Line 1' above. Good! Look at the pictures ... : D

Note that with this update my phone is 10 to 15% faster. The menu is as fluid as before, applications run very well, and do not see the annoying icon "Line 1", there is no problem except for playing videos that you cut then. My phone was again the before and much better. Good job!
It seems as if playing a video with a slow internet, that's the problem with playing videos.

  • Audio static problems with video playback - Anyone Else?

I went to archive.org and downloaded two movies for my iPod. Great. However, when played on the iPod there is this scratch/pop in the headphones every couple of seconds.
It doesn't matter what headphones you use.
It doesn't happen when you play the same video on the computer either in iTunes or Quicktime Player. And this is definitely more than the normal hiss and pop of old movies. Its piercing when you have in ear headphones on and quite distracting with apple buds.
What I am wondering if this is a problem with all iPods or just mine?
I don't have the problem with music videos or home made movies. Just the two movies I downloaded from archive.org. However, they do play fine on my computer. This is my last day to return the iPod and get a new one instead of service unit (which his actually probably new also because the Apple Service dept probably hasn't had refurbs yet, but I digress).

I'm having the same problem with a file from archive.org. The file plays back fine using QT on my PC, but on the ipod the audio has periodic bursts of static.
Here's a link to a file that exhibits the problem:
    http://www.archive.org/download/disorderin_the_court/disorder_in_the_court256kb.mp4
Movie info is: MPEG-4, 320x240, Millions

  • Problems with video playback

    Hi all.
My system is: P4 2.6 ghz, ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 DDR3 AGP, 1024 mb DDR RAM.
    I installed arch.
Also I installed alsa, codecs, gstreamer codecs, vlc, mplayer, totem, gnome, catalyst dirver, etc. All from repos. Default kernel.
During video playback picture freeze in few seconds each 10-15 minutes, but sounds continue playback. In this freezing time, my CPU raise to 100% utilization according gnome cpu monitor. After few seconds of freezing system comes back. It happens each 10-15 minutes. Compiz is off.
I tried to run video using console, I run mplayer, vlc and totem in console, choose video file and playback. Only vlc shows error message from av codec and "(maybe computer too slow?)" message. Other players show nothing about freezing.
Video file - simple video, not HDTV.
A have ubuntu on another HDD, in ubuntu video playback is ok.

    I made update.
Now I have catalyst 8.11. I`m testing video playback with different players, it take some time. I`ll write about results.
By the way, today I found another strange bug with fglxr. While I resizing x-chat window, X locked and all key combinations not working. Only hard reset can reboot computer. After that, in /var/log/messages.log I found these lines:

  • Problem with video playback

I just updated to 3.6.14 and after I did I'm now having problems viewing videos. The video plays, but in the right third of the screen there is a flashing block of red. Here's a screen cap of what it looks like:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/25730352@N02/5492729261/
I tried viewing the same videos in Safari and didn't have a problem. Apple software is up to date as is Adobe Flash.
Is there some way to fix this?

This happened to me while I had numerous programs running as well as Itunes...are you running anything like, LimeWire, chatting programs, internet browser, or anything like that? Close em down
    Hope this helps
