Problems converting video using Nokia PC Suite for...

I bought an unlocked Nokia 6300 and have tried to move videos from my desktop to my phone through the Nokia PC Suite. I have upgraded the firmware on my phone to 5.00 (latest update available according to the Nokia updater program). When I try to transfer videos through the PC Suite, it converts the video file to MP4, which apparently is not supported on my phone. There is no option to convert to 3GP format through the PC Suite, which is the only format I have gotten to work using a 3rd party program.
Anyone have a solution to the issue?

Hi zlandar,
Nokia Video Manager's (NVM) work is to convert the supported video files into .mp4 format. So NVM is doing its job withoug any fail. Its your handset 6300 which doesnot support the .mp4 file SO its better you can look for some 3rd party genuine video converter which will do the needful to you Have a great day

    Hi jguilffoy
For more information on this suject type "N95 mp4 video" into "Search Discussions" at top right of your screen.
An authority on this subject is "professor" el_loco as it can depend upon bitrates and codecs to plays atisfactorily
There are software applications to make conversion easier:
    Try: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
This is FREE requiring JRE but download link is a bit of a pain to find on website!

  • Problem In using Nokia PC Suite with the new Nokia...

My Nokia Ahs 310 is a new phone I bought and I tried with it to connect internet through my PC using Nokia PC Suite. But, when I connect phone to the PC it tells that it can't find the drivers and install the new device. And in someyimes in Nokia PC Suite it showed as "connected in non compatible USB".
However I can't log into internet using my Nokia Asha 310. Please help me in this regard.

scoobyman, I think KRNS tries to use his Nokia 310 as modem for his computer. Consequently, no Wi-Fi involved.

This does not affect the Nokia 310 but only Nokia Asha 501, Nokia 301, Nokia 210, and the Nokia 206 – because my Nokia 310 works with Nokia Suite and PC Suite perfectly. Furthermore, The Nokia 301 was tested with the PC Suite successfully. Same for the Nokia 206. Success reports for the Nokia 210 are still missing.

install the latest Nokia Suite. This install the latest Connectivity Cable Driver automatically. Then
install the latest PC Suite (I like its modem handling more)
Nokia 310 » SIM Manager » choose SIM1 (at least for data)
PC Suite » Menu » File » Connect to the Internet
Works here with my Nokia 310, just tested for you. However, I was not able to use SIM2 for the computer. If neither PC Suite nor Nokia Suite worked for you, please say so!

  • Nokia Ovi Suit for Linux

I am using Fedora 14. I want to connect to internet using my Nokia N8 mobile. There is no nokia ovi suit for linux and hence I am unable to connect to internet. Can anyone please help?

    Hello
Here, Ubuntu, USB cable, and Gnome Default Network Manager
Just right clic on manager to modify connection, choose Wide Band Mobile connection et follow assistant....
That's all, the connection is created, then left clic on manger to use it !
Other way ? Use special apps on the N8 to convert it in a WiFi Hotspot like Joiku Spot

  • Nokia Ovi Suite for Ubuntu - Linux

Hi!  I am using Ubuntu. I would be happy if you would make the Nokia Ovi Suite, for this operating system also.
I also have an go pal (medion) gps.
Can I use Ovi maps with it ?

PC synchronising software is offered free of charge by all mobile phone manufacturers, so it's unlikely that any will develop Linux software - the OS may be growing, but it is still only a minority system.
There are independent solutions avbailable, here are just a couple of examples:

  • Nokia PC Suite for Nokia 5233

I have installed Nokia PC Suite for 5233 in my PC having Windows XP SP-2 as OS. Unfortunately the Explorer of Nokia PC Suite is not detecting my mobile. Even I have tried to connect it to my friends PC having the same configuration and he is also using the same PC Suite version for his Nokia 7610 Supernova which is working properly for him, but in the case of my mobile it is not detecting.
Help and suggestions in this regard are highly appreaciable.
    Best regards

I have bought Nokia 5233.I have not got any PC suite with it. After reading the posts on the Discussion Board I downloaded Nokia OVI Suite. After that I tried to connect my USB cable which I got with the phone to the PC. To my dismay OVI suite is not detecting any Device.
My USB is working properly as when I attach it to my laptop then it asks me to select a mode so I selected PC suite mode.Afer that an autorun pop-up comes on my laptop for 5233.But the OVI suite is not detecting any device.
I have installed the OVI Suite version 3.0.0.I have Windows Vista Ultimate. Kindly help me out.
    My nokia Cable is CA-101D.

  • Nokia PC Suite for N70 and Windows Vista laptop

    Hi!
I bought my N70 two yrs ago. Installed the pc suite with my desktop with windows xp os.everything was okay, i can browse my phone and connect thru the internet via cable connection.
recently, i bought my compaq cq40 laptop with windows vista os.
tried installing the pc suite from my cd which was the older version, i believe its pc suite 6. something ( i don't know exactly). Successful installation of the older pc suite version was done with my laptop. however, i can only connect my pc via cable connection. tried updating the pc suite version thru the nokia site but i am only successful on the 1st part of the installation. once i am prompted to select what type of connection to use, I cannot select any among the choices (cable, IR, bluetooth) because the options are not enabled.
I don't know what to do. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the pc suite but still same problem occurs.
Right now, I have the old pc suite installed and connection is via bluetooth.
But i also want to utilize other connection options such as the use of USB cable. Is this not possible?
If I try inserting the USB cable, I get this error message that my laptop cannot recognize the inserted device because of a missing driver. But my cable and phone unit is perfectly functioning via cable connection with my desktop.
Your advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi weehlenejoy,
Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then
Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc. Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check
Uninstalling PC Connectivity solution is important. Latest PC Suite is 7.1.18.0. If you want to use Nokia OVI Suite, you can also install Nokia OVI Suite 1.1x too.
