Problems embedding youtube videos

Ok, so i copy de code from youtube an directly paste it in indesign. I go to the overlay and enable autoplay. I did this before and it worked, now it doesn't. Anyone knows why??

It could be a number of things. What isn't working? When you insert the embed code, an error message appears in the overlay frame that says the format isn't supported, but you can ignore that message (use a poster image to prevent it from appearing—see the DPS Tips app > Advanced Overlays > Streaming Video for details). Have you tried playing the overlay in the desktop viewer or on the iPad viewer?
Can you get the YouTube video to play on the iPad outside of DPS? Some YouTube videos are still Flash-based and don't support HTML5.
It sounds like you're editing the embed code properly:
Doesn't work:
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xSZdntRnQVg?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Should work:
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xSZdntRnQVg?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Also, did you set the Web Content overlay to Auto Play?
If you get it to work, please reply with, "I'm going to Disney World!"

  • Problem embedding youtube videos

    Hi,
I'm trying to embed a youtube video into a page, but all I manage to get is a white box (see screenshot below), and no video will play.
I tried both a Web Content overlay pointing to an HTML file containing the embed code (both iframe and object versions) and inserting the embed code (again, tried both versions) using the Object --> Insert HTML.
The Web Content overlay is has both Auto Play and Allow User Interaction checked.
It's a V26 folio tested on an iPad
Any clue will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Have a look at the reply to this post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5459637#5459637. This method should work.

  • Embedding youtube videos on my DM created site

I am having problems embedding Youtube videos in my
    website create with DM.
I successfully embedded one video clip at
    photoresources-sf.com/equipment/html (I shot the clip)
When I attempted to add more youtube videos, I could not make
it happen. I followed the instructions. and when I placed the embed
code in the code area of my site the embed code text color was all
black and the code showed up in the table on my page.
When I started up DW today I received a dialog box that
    states
"this page contains <object> tags that may not work
properly in the most recent versions of IE. DM cannot convert the
    <object> tags!"
Does this mean I can not embed my videos or other videos from
    youtube on my site?
How can I get around this problem?
    thanks,
    confused bill

    I think the website is
    http://www.photoresources-sf.com/equipment.html.
Just had a look and the video is loading okay for me. I remember
having the same issue with a child page of a template - but I
simply ignored DW's prompt each time. Not sure the pros will see
that as the best solution thos :p

  • Dreamweaver CS6: Embedding Youtube Video causes DW to stop responding

    HI,
I'm trying to build a simple site that displays an embedded youtube video on the main page. The video is placed in a div tag that is placed in a specific spot on the page background to make it appear as if it's playing on an old PC that's part of the image. I paste the code into the div tag in the code view and it appears as a grey box in design view. Everything seems fine up to there, however when I click live view DW CS6 stops responding and the design view window goes white. I've tried pasting the video embed code into my other page, and into a blank html document to see if it was a problem with the rest of the code but the same thing happens on any of the pages. If I save the page and preview in Chrome or Firefox the page displays the windows loading cursor for a few minutes and then returns a youtube error 6 (ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND).
I spent a few hours researching and found nothing via Google searches, Adobe help or Lynda.com tutorials. I'm new to web design and CSS and got as far as I did through Lynda.com lessons. Which is to say I have an index page and a seperate game guide page that links back and forth displaying images and text exactly as I'd like. Everything else works well enough only the video embedding is giving me trouble which is frustrating because according to everything I've read it's supposed to be one of the simplest processes.
I'm really at a loss as to how to fix this issue and would appreciate any help the Adobe community can give me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Good to know,
I fixed the problem but I'm not exactly sure why this worked. I went to a different site that uses Youtube hosted videos and tried their embed code which appeared the same to my untrained eye. But to my surprise this other video worked perfectly, so I just put the url for my video in and it worked. I'm not sure why, as far as I can tell both embed codes are the same. Both use <iframe> tags. But it works now, suffice to say I've gained some respect for the people who do this stuff day to day.

  • This animation will not work, neither does embeded youtube videos

So this site https://www.navo.navy.mil/cgi-bin/animate.pl/metoc/74/84/0-0-17/0 animation does
not work (in either FF or Safari on mac, works great on any browser on xp).
    Anyone know why???
Also, if I try to look at a embeded youtube video it shows a black screen unless I scroll so that the
video is partially blocked (top or bottom).
    Anyone?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Embedded Youtube videos not working on Chrome 23 / Flash player 11.5.31.2

For the past couple of weeks, I've not been able to play any Youtube videos that appear as embedded videos on other websites.  The small player appears with the still frame from the video and all the controls, but on pressing play, the video goes blank and won't play (the slider stays stuck at 0:00).  Nor does the full screen button work - the player just stays where it is within the third party website.  This problem has occurred across more than one website, but all sites still work in Internet Explorer.
The main Youtube site is still working.
I have tried all relevant steps here, to no avail (except increasing memory for a particular website, since not just one website is affected):

  • Embedded YouTube videos not working

    Hello,
Embedded YouTube videos used to work fine up until a few days ago but they have stopped working in all browsers. I use Safari, Firefox and Netscape Navigator.
I am using Mac OS X (10.6.3) and have just conducted a software update and installed a fresh version of flash. This can't be a browser problem because it is not working on any of the browsers. I am having problems viewing embedded YouTube videos on such sights as Blip.fm, Facebook, etc but they used to work fine a couple of weeks ago.
Is this a problem with flash? or Mac OS X?

Another me too. In particular the symptoms are this:
+ any YouTube video embedded within a webpage loads the poster frame and the controls, but after clicking the play button only shows the progress indicator briefly before showing "An error occurred, please try again later." within the video frame.
+ the same YouTube videos play fine on the YouTube site.
+ other Internet video plays fine, embedded or not.
+ when the error occurs Safari reports "One error in opening the page. For more information, choose Window > Activity".
    + the Activity window shows "forbidden" for http://v13.lscache4.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?ip=0.0.0.0&sparams=id%2Cexpire%2 Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Calgorithm%2Cburst%2Cfactor%2Coc%3AU0dWSVhMVV9FSkNNNl9QRllH &fexp=900028&algorithm=throttle-factor&itag=34&ipbits=0&burst=40&sver=3&expire=1 274817600&key=yt1&signature=C15947474FA80C9A1B9DA597103C5FF7D621A478.0C1490DE456 5D519F602B0043A4E1F9D800417A0&factor=1.25&id=c3e8886e8b459334
+ the same URL downloads fine when visiting YouTube directly, except the signature value is different.
    I have tested the following:
+ the same computer worked fine a week or so ago
+ other computers on the same shared ADSL connection work fine
+ Firefox works fine (contrary to other's experiences)
    + deleting com.apple.Safari.plist doesn't help
    + disabling/enabling the "Enable Plug-ins" preference doesn't help
    + deleting Preferences/Macromedia folder doesn't help
    + reinstalling Flash doesn't help
    + empty cache doesn't help
    Tis quite perplexing.

  • Firefox no longer plays embedded YouTube videos - message "An error occured, please try later"

I've updated FireFox, cleared cache etc., but continue to experience this issue on several different sites where I have embedded YouTube videos. This issue has only just started happening - all was well a few days ago. They play fine with Chrome and Safari and I can also play the un-embeded version on YouTube in Firefox.

Yes, unfortunately, another user reported this a few days ago on his website.
Currently the only workaround is to click the YouTube button in the player to launch the video in a new window, and then manually edit the -nocookie out of the address and press Enter to load it on the real YouTube site.
Hopefully someone at Google/YouTube will figure out why this suddenly broke and fix it.

  • Embedded YouTube videos do not play on my Mac Mini

Embedded YouTube videos don't play in non-YouTube web pages.  I can click the link in the top of the video to be taken directly to YouTube, and I can watch the video there, but when I click the big Play button in the middle of the video window, I just get a black rectangle.
I tried uninstalling Flash player as suggested in another thread, rebooted my machine, and reinstalled Flash player, but that did not fix the problem.  This is a non-Flash player problem that Apple should look into.  I have not tried this on other browsers to see if I have the same problem there or not, as I do not use other browsers besides Firefox.  I would rather not have to use another browser just so that I can watch embedded YouTube videos.  I would prefer if Apple (or another knowledgeable user) can post the solution to the problem.  Thanks!

In Firefox, click Tools>Add-ons. Make sure the Shockwave Flash plugin is enabled and "Always activated".
If that fails, see: How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X  in the Adobe Forums. That will clear out the pluigins and allow a fresh install with the new plugin.

  • Embedded YouTube videos don't work on Safari on the iPhone.

Sometime after June 15, 2013, embedded YouTube videos stopped working on web pages on Safari on the iPhone (iOS6).   They work on Safari on the Mac and they work in the iOS YouTube app.   I see the preview frame and the play button, but when clicking the play button, the frame goes black and nothing ever plays.    This worked up until 6/15 and the pages haven't changed.      Did Apple do something to stop them from working on the iPhone recently?

You may have turned off an option in Flash preferences to not allow sites to store Flash cookies on your machine. Some videos made in Flash and served from third-party (non-YouTube) pages expect to be able to store Flash cookies, so the videos may not work with this Flash option turned off.
Go to [https://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html Flash Global Storage Settings Panel] which is served from Adobe/Macromedia's site and check the "Allow third-party Flash content..." box, and the box for "Store common Flash components..." where you can then manage sites you have already visited. You'll have to reload the video page after you change this setting.
Also, leave site feedback on those sites where you experienced the problems encouraging them to use HTML5 for serving video content instead of the proprietary Flash format.

  • Update fails and Embedded Youtube videos doesn't load

Problem 1: All update (beta, RC) fails in my computer. After download, when I click in apply button, Firefox closes and a process "firefox.exe"starts with (~2.800 kB) and nothing happens. Every time and every versions in my 2 computers (Vista and Seven). It occurs since ~10 version (9, 10, 11... i don't remember.
When I download the exe from Mozilla, the update works.
Problem 2: Since the ~10 version or flash version, mostly embedded youtube videos doesn't load in firefox (in all pcs again). In youtube site it works, but embedded only shows a black square. In Google Reader it occurs all the time.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
    See:
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Firewalls
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version of the Firefox installer.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 15.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • Embedded youtube videos load on all other browsers but not Firefox

I have embedded youtube videos into a website...
They work on ALL OTHER BROWSERS but not on Mozilla Firefox.
    I have tried:
    1. Clearing cache & cookies and using Safe Mode.
    2. 18 different computers running Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OSX, Linux Ubuntu 12.10 and Fedora 16.
    3. Using old embed code instead of iframe.

Code is as follows, note middle video is old youtube code: http://pastebin.com/T3w09bqW

  • Safari stop playing embedded youtube videos

    Hi
I am having trouble with Safari 4.0.5 (6531.22.7) which suddenly refuse to play embedded youtube videos. Safari show the video in a web page but when played the youtube default play display "an error occurred, please try again." and Safari display in the status bar "one error in opening the page, for more information, choose Window->Activity". Now when I look in the activity window it show "forbidden" beside the video file.
Strangely I can play the same video from the youtube main page without any errors.
I have already done the following:
    - checked permissions with Disk Utility.
    - Reset Safari
    - Empty caches
    - Removed com.apple.Safari.plist
    - Uninstalled, re-Installed Flash plug-in
but the problem still persist. Help in resolving will be highly appreciated.

  • Cannot see embedded Youtube videos; I get a black screen

So, embedded Youtube videos suddenly stopped working. I can still watch videos on the Youtube website just fine. Making an embedded video fullscreen also allows me to see it. I have seen an answer on another thread asking to try Safe Mode. Interestingly, disabling every add-on and plugin (besides Flash and Shockwave) does not fix the issue, but using Safe Mode, which theoretically does the same thing, fixes it :S
The embeds are black screen, and when I hover the mouse over them I see the Refresh and HD buttons, but not the Youtube icon on the lower right. Clicking the lower right area still brings me to the Youtube website, so the button still works, just isn't visible. Reinstalling Waterfox and using a new profile do not fix the issue.
I can't test the issue on Firefox because it has a long-standing problem of the Flash Player crashing constantly every second, which rendered it unusable and is the reason I switched to Waterfox in the first place (in which Flash does not crash).
The troubleshoot information with all Waterfox add-ons disabled (which again, doesn't fix the issue, despite Safe Mode fixing it) can be seen by navigating to the "More system details" on the menu to the right.
    Thanks!

I had disabled hardware accel in Waterfox and it didn't fix the embeds, but doing so in Firefox fixed them for Waterfox! Odd. It didn't fix the constant Flash Player crashing, though. Thanks for solving the embeds!
