Problems exporting a movie

hi, i hope you will be able to help me, (and forgive my poor english).
i use adobe cc, and it works great except when it comes to exporting a movie.
many times when i export a movie using the media encoder to MPEG2 - DVD, and the sequence is longer then one hour it doesn't export the video, and i get a black screen. when i do the export threw premiere pro it works properly. but it prevents me from using the computer and exporting multiply sequences.
today i had another problem, and this time the premiere pro didn't help, i tried to export a movie from a p2 camera (resolution of 1440X1080) to H264. i couldn't do it in both programs, and it only worked when i used my old adobe cs5.5 premiere pro. are you familier with this problem? if so' is there any soloution for this?
thank you!
uri.

If my camcorder records in 1080i, will i have any problems exporting my movie in imovie as 1080p? I read something about interlacing or deinterlacing?
I also have another question. I can't find an external blu-ray burner for a mac anywhere. How to I simply watch my exported 1080p movie edited in imovie on my hd tv? Apple tv only supports 720p correct? I read that the simplest way to watch it would be to save it on a flash drive then use a playstation 3 to watch the movie. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Thanks in advance

For 1080p via iMovie '11, just remember to optimize video for “Full – Original Size”.
The latest Apple TV supports HD.
I've seen low cost Blu-Ray DVD players for less than USD$100.00. I've also seen reasonably priced external BR for Mac...try OWC, as one example.

  • Missing Render Files / Problem Exporting Quicktime Movie

Everything was going great on my 21 minute project.
I had exported it to iDVD via a Quicktime movie and it looked great in widescreen format. It worked perfectly.
Now, for whatever reason, when I load my project, I get a message saying the Render Files are missing. I am unable to locate them anywhere. I had them stored along with my project on an external firewire 400 drive.
So I press "continue" without finding the missing files.
Now when I export my movie, it appears 4:3 with gray vertical bars on the side!
When I view the project on the canvas, it looks perfect as 16:9. Everything looks normal in FCE.
Did a render file get corrupted or something? Is there a way to delete all the "old" render files and tell Final Cut Express to re-render my entire new project? Would that solve my problem?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I did what you said and the "exported" file says:
Kind: Final Cut Express Movie File
    Under More Info it says:
    720x480 Integer (Little Indian) Timecode
    Total Bit Rate: 30,313
Why am I trying to export?
Before I ran into trouble, I would export my FCE project using the Export Quicktime Movie command.
I then used iDVD (set to 16:9) to burn to DVD.
    It worked perfectly before.
But now, all of a sudden, the same project always shows up at 4:3, whether played in Quicktime or when burned to DVD using iDVD set to 16:9.
The version of FCE is 4.0 and the version of Quicktime is 7.4.5
Thank you again for trying to help me!

  • Problems exporting a movie in Flash CS4

I'm trying to export a fla file to a mov file in Flash CS4.
My fla file is 152 mb. It is a 5 minute presentation I created with a 39 second f4v file (video clip) in the file.
I go to Export / Export Movie. I select Quicktime (mov). I keep the default settings and it starts to cycle through. It gets about half way and I get a message "The export operation failed because it ran out of memory"
I'm running this on a Mac Pro, System 10.5.8. I have 4 GB of memory. My HD is 232 GB with 155 GB available.
What is the problem and how can I get this to work?

Well, for some reason, I've managed to be okay with the idea that all software relying on links is prone to crushing at any given moment during execution of a project, Yes this includes After effects, Illustrator, Indesign_name it. However, one thing I cannot understand or even come to terms with the idea that Flash CS4 cannot export a project of 162mb. My library is organised, My scenes are in perfect order,  I do not even use 3rd party componets in my projects..... but for some reason, I cannot export let alone publish an application file from FLASH CS4.
My first thought was maybe some thing was wrong with the "flash.ocx" extension, so I took a walk and visited the Adobe site to get an update, but still after re-installing it nothing seems to put a smile on my face_( I've spent sleepless nights on this animation and all I need is to just export/ publish it, however flash exports it halfway and out of a blue the export dialog and the incomplete file vanish) Some times I  even wonder wether there is a vortex on my desktop.
Another problem in this category am finding is with flash player in my browsers, if it runs in exlporer, then it won't run in firefox, and when I check in the control panel after installing on both browsers, I am so suprised to find 4plugins of flash player, which is not the case with my friends laptops which use 1plugin and an activeX control for the web browsers.
Any help is very welcome, Am using Dell studio-xps Laptop running a 64bit  Windows Vista OS, 4bg Ram, 1 Terabyte HDD and yes Intel Graphics media card with dedicated memory of 1gb. (Of what use are they if I cannot export a small file of 162mb, am even ashamed to mention it, heeeeeelp  )

  • Problems exporting longer movies to dv camera

I have no trouble exporting short clips or movies to my dv camera, so I assume that means everything is compatible and I am doing it right. However, I am currently working on a movie that is about 58 minutes long and has lots of transitions, effects, title clips and a sound track. The first 20 minutes or so will transfer just fine to the camera. After that dropouts and freezes begin to appear and the soundtrack gets off by about 10 seconds from the video. Eventually iMovie quits before finishing the export.
How do I sove this problem? Thanks.

I have a MOV-file which has been exported from Final Cut. I imported and edited it in Premiere CS 5.5 and then tried to export again to Quicktime Mov. Problem is that the output looks terrible. • I'm having problems exporting my movie. Help?

I've tried every "export' option available, but it always either crashes or tells me there's not enough room in the "heap zone" (whatever that is), even though the computer is only a week old and barely has ANY files. This is only my second project on this particular computer, so iMovie certainly isn't cluttered. Furthermore, when I try to watch the movie fullscreen (on iMovie), it goes black, then crashes. The project is only about 3 minutes. I cleared out my rejected clips, so I know that's not the problem.

When this happens I begin to suspect it's something in the project itself causing the instability. Try this:
Go to the Project Library, then highlight the name of the project. Go to the File Menu, choose Duplicate Project
Go into the duplicated project and think long and hard about what order you put things together. Then working in reverse, start removing items from the project, one at a time. You might have a corrupted title, picture, transition, or audio clip that's the source of the problem.
As you remove items, keep testing it by playing it back or exporting it, whenever you get to the point where iMovie stops crashing, you may have discovered the corrupted media clip. Once identified, remove that clip from the original project then export that original project (instead of the duplicate)

  • Problem Exporting QuickTime Movie.

Hey guys, when I vew my project in the canvas it doesn't play smoothly between clips. It's like it gets stuck on the last frame of the first clip for a split second. So I exported it to Quicktime movie and when I play it back and it skips and sort of glitches when it gets to the second clip. However, when I exported it using quicktime conversion, it plays smoothly. So why would it do this in FCP and when exporting to QuickTime movie?
My Sequence settings and clip settings all match, and they are: 23.98fps, 1920 x 1080, and the compression is H.264.

    Sigh....
You are editing H.264 files in FCP.  FCP doesn't work with H.264 well.  Why the heck Apple allowed it to seem like it would work is troubling.  But...whatever.
You should not edit H.264 files in FCP.  FCP may LOOK like it will work with the format, but really, it won't.  It's problematic.  It isn't an editing codec, it's a delivery codec.  A lot of NLEs don't work with it native.  In FCP, you need to convert the files to ProRes first...BEFORE you edit.  If they come from a camera like the Canon 5D, you can use Log and Transfer for this, if you install the EOS log and transfer plugin.  Or you can use 5D2RGB, or MPEG STREAMCLIP, or Magic Bullet Grinder, or Compressor. No matter what, the files need to be ProRes before you begin editing.  That's why you are having all this trouble.
YOu can use the MEDIA MANAGER in FCP to convert all the footage you already have in FCP to ProRes.  Just highlight the footage, open Media Manager, and use the RECOMPRESS option.

  • Problems exporting quicktime mov...

I'm having recurring issues exporting out a 960x540 h264 quicktime on my macbook pro running 10.8.2 to the "iPad, iPhone 4 & Apple TV" setting...(actually, it's happening to ANY quicktime clip I choose regardless of size or codec)
I choose export, select a destination, and hit EXPORT. Nothing happens. I have been having this issue for a good month.
Is this a preference issue? Am I missing something obvious?

    Try an alternative work flow.
    1) If you have a secondary account on your susyem, try exporting the same file using the other account. If it works corrently, then the problem is likely a corrupted QT X PLIST file. If it doesn't work correctly, the pthe problem may be in either the QT X player or the QT structure embedded in the OS.
    2) If the H.264 file is in/can be moved to iTunes, then try exporting the file as a new version within iTunes. If it works correctly and your normal QT X work flow does not have a PLIST file problem, then the issue may be in the QT X player app itself.
    3) As an alternative to paragraph 2 above, you could try an export using QT 7 Pro if installed, GarageBand, or the free MPEG Streamclip app. All of these work flows access the "classic" QT 7 routines. Once again, if the QT 7 based apps work correctly and the QT X player does not have a PLIST problem, then the issue may be in the QT X player itself.
    4) If both QT X and QT 7 based apps are having a problem, then try using a third-party app like HandBrake. HandBrake uses its own codecs so if works correctly while both QT 7 and QT X based apps are having issues, then the problem may be a corrupted QT structure embedded in the Mac OS X v10.8.2 system software.

  • Having problems exporting my movie! Help!

I'm using FCP for the first time and am stuck.  I have a 6.5 minute movie of mostly stills with some music and just about 1 minute of video.  Everything plays smoothly through FCP.  I tried to burn to a Maxell DVD.  I'm running an iMac with latest software) and its been 9.5 hours.  It says it is 95% complete but has said that since midnight last night.  I tried cancelling the job, force quitting "create disc", restarting....it just goes right back to where it has hung.  I desperately need to output this movie as I'm showing it to a large audience tomorrow....I just can't figure out how to get it out of FCP.  Please help!!!!!

Sorry...so new to this, didn't even know what information to include.  Yes, I'm selected Share>DVD>Burn
My first problem is that I can't seem to cancel the "Processing".  I hit the "cancel" button 2 hours ago and it is still cancelling.  I quit the program, restarted...How do I get it to "let go".....
Here is the log if that helps:

  • Additional Problems exporting quicktime movie out to ext. drive

I saw the previous discussion and will reformat my hard drive (Thank you for that info!!!), but can I copy these files (with av attached) to another drive and put them together again as a qt movie? I've captured many hours and would like to use what I've done already. When I open the original av file, qt asks me to open other associated files, and they all play together on the screen. But I can't save them. When I've tried to save them as other formats, they just get saved as audio files, even with avi or dv extensions.

Example, I captured a file I called Tape4broll. Instead of getting a qt file of that name with .mov extension, I got Tape4broll-av, Tape4broll-1-av, Tape4broll-2-av, Tape4broll-3-av. When I got to look at the files, when I open the first one, -av, it says it needs -1-av, so I locate that, then it says it needs the next one, -2-av, etc. When all are located, the file opens, the audio and video are there, but then I can't save that, can't save as, can't export as .avi or .dv. So I've got the working video and audio on the desktop but can't do anything with it.

  • Problem exporting .mov file

I'm trying to export a :30 second sequence using quicktime conversion to a .mov file. I use the default settings with the H.264 codec and uncompressed 16 bit audio. (I've also tried a few other settings with Sorenson and Sorenson 3) The same thing happens everytime. The export takes forever (about 20 minutes) then stops when the progress bar gets to about 79%. A general error comes up. On some occasions, I have also gotten a notice that says my startup disk is close to full. This is confusing because all my drives have at least 10gb of space available on them.
It was suggested in another thread that this could be a result of a corrupt media or render file. If so, how does one determine that this is the cause? It was also said that bad RAM might be to blame.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hmm...
I wouldn't jump right into upgrading as a fix at this point, since your program shouldn't have any trouble exporting a simple Quicktime, and the upgrade to Final Cut Studio from FCP 3 is $799 USD. That isn't full price, but still may be a bit steep if you've chosen to keep using FCP 3 for so long. Although I will say that subsequent versions include many improvements that you might actually appreciate so keep it in mind.
Have you tried exporting using Quicktime Conversion from any other projects with any other clips? That would also be a good idea, to narrow down the problem. Did you try exporting a Quicktime Movie using Current Settings? I realize that may not be adequate for your final intention, but it would help the troubleshooting as well.
I once had a problem exporting a clip from FCP and after trying everything, I recaptured the clip and it ended up working. There were no visible glitches or skips in the video to indicate that the clip itself would have been corrupt, but turns out it was. So if you can recapture, since it's only a 60-second clip, maybe give that a whirl.
You should also trash your FCP prefs (search for com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist on your sytem drive and delete that file), repair your permissions (in Disk Utility), and restart.
    Post back,
    Joni

  • Problems exporting Premiere Pro with SWFs in as .mov files.

    Hi,
I'm not the most competent with Premiere and am having a few problems exporting my final movie.
I am having problems with an animation (Screen size: 1024 x 576) I am producing; I've produced all the animation in Flash then exported the files as SWFS, and want to composite it in Premiere and export it as Quicktime Movie (H.264), as this seems to give the best image quality for the final movie. All the SWFs export from Flash and import into Premiere fine, and in the main the SWFs export fine from Premiere, however a few of the SWFs don't export into the final finished movie, leaving just a blank screen, and others only partially export, either stopping halfway through the shot or exporting with some of the layers from the SWF missing. I've tried re importing the files but I still encounter the same problems.
Can anyone shed any light onto where I may be going wrong and what I can do to get the entire movie to export fully? Or if there is a better way of exporting the files from Flash to a final finished movie?
If you need any other information let me know,
    Many thanks
    Josh

    Hmmm...
I did a quick test in your behalf with a test project with and without "alpha glow" applied to all of the media.
The results were actually kind of strange:
    - export to .mp4 utilized all cores (6-core box w/ Hyperthreads) with a smooth 82% utilization for the whole export; memory usage (also from task manager) went up and once it hit a maximum, it stayed there
    - export to .mp4 with "alpha glow" applied -> CPU usage started out pretty good, then memory usage maxed out and then actually cam down; after a bit, the CPU usage stabilized at around 22%, or about 25% of what it had been at the start of the export
Smells to me like an Adobe bug or design-flaw.
Anyway, good luck with your testing.
I totally agree with Bill's suggest to do a full PPBM7 test on your new rig and report the scores back here - and to the PPBM7 site of course. This will help you to have confidence in your new hardware and setup. Once your hardware and configuration (for Win7, drive caching, Premiere settings, etc.) are working fine, then your particular workflow, etc. can be a separate troubleshooting step.
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Jim

  • Quick Time Pro - Problem Exporting AVI files to .mov

Hi all, Here is the problem that has been plaguing me and driving me crazy. hopefully somebody can help me with this.
I use pinnacle studio 8 to create the avi file, the resulting file size is 1.02GB. Everything works fine in this file audio and video
Next I use quicktime pro to convert the file to a .mov format and compress the video down. This is where the problem starts. when I try and export the avi to a .mov, the options screen doesn't allow me to select the audio, it says its not there. I can modify all the settings for the video, but it doesn't even recognize the audio.
It has been doing this for all of my avi videos that are over a gig. It also does this when I try and export an mpeg to a .mov
also if I do go ahead and export to a .mov file, it compresses the videos down to around 5 to 7mb, where as all my videos that are exported to .mov that do have sound are roughly 20+mb
Anybody know whats going on? I'm going nuts trying to figure this out.
    Message was edited by: tlsolutions

Sounds like your AVI isn't really a two track file (audio and video) but rather a muxed MPEG-1 file.
QuickTime Pro can't extract audio from muxed file formats and that is why it shows no sound options during export.
MPEG Streamclip (free) can export MPEG-1 to QuickTime formats and extract the audio.

  • Problems exporting- only creates 3/4 minutes out of whole movie

When I try to export my movie to AVI using expert settings, (full quality, DV PAL), it only makes a movie of the first 3 or 4 minutes. I need the whole thing!! Why is it not exporting the whole movie? Please help!!!

    Hi
    Can it be so ?
That You try to export Your QT.mov file out from iMovie onto an external hard disk
or even worse to an USB-memory ?
    If so
    a. Need to be formatted as Mac OS Extended
    b. If Mac OS Extended - the Windows PC will not open it
    c. USB-memory (thumbs/sticks) are way to slow to work
    I would
    a. Export out from iMovie onto a miniDV tape via FireWire and Camera
    b. On PC - import this
    Result 100% quality
